Simple Birthday Roses!!!

Posted on

You all know I love flowers and pink and this simple birthday roses card is just that! Beautiful and yet quick and simple all in one!!!

Simple Birthday Roses, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I went very basic for this card but you could always step it up with some greenery or bling!

For this card, I used the NEW Powder Pink for the card base. Then I took a piece of Whisper White measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″ and stamped the greeting from the NEW Happy Birthday Gorgeous Stamp Set in Powder Pink. I love that scrolly font! The roses stamped along the bottom were done in Melon Mambo. It is a 2-step stamping image so I stamped off once for the solid base and then full strength on top. Since it is a photopolymer stamp set, it is easy to see through the stamp to line it up. I always recommend that you get up on top of the image so you can see down through the clear block/stamp. Even if the image was a little bit off, it would look fabulous and like a watercolor look!

After I finished all of the stamping, I adhered a strip of the NEW Powder Pink Finely Woven Ribbon across the top. Next, I slipped another piece of ribbon under that strip and tied it into a knot. This is a faux knot for your card because the ribbon doesn’t actually go all the way around the card! You could simply tie the ribbon all the way around the card if you wish. Next, I adhered this piece to the front of the card. Now it’s all set and ready to go! I love it!

Tomorrow is the official day that the New Catalog comes out. I will be adding the links to this post once the catalog goes live so you can see the products and purchase them! Who else is super duper excited about the catalog?!?!?! Let me know in the comments below! Also, stay tuned for some fabulous offerings like Ribbon Shares and a New In-Color Share!!! I can’t wait to reveal them!

Fresh Florals, Color Theory, Stamps, & Bling are just a few of the amazing things I got in my Pre-Order for the New Catalog!!! Here is a few sneak peaks!!!

Fresh Florals, Color Theory, Stamps, & Bling, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Oh my goodness this is just a pile of heaven!!!! Here are a few of my favorites that I quickly picked out!

In-Colors Collection, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This designer series paper is just stunning! It has the same patterns as the current Floral Boutique and I LOVE IT! Note: there are distressed looks to the paper where some spots are lighter or splotchy and this is suppose to be like that! The Ribbons are perfect because they aren’t too wide and they are soft and flexible for tying knots and using on projects! Love love love!!!

Color Theory, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This  is another favorite of mine – The Color Theory Suite! I love these colors – Berry Burst, Dapper Denim, Crushed Curry, and Old Olive. The cool designer paper, fabulous ribbon (which I realized is Bermuda  Bay and doesn’t coordinate like the others) and those glimmer enamel shapes. YUM! Glimmer Enamel Shapes…..like WOW!!!!

Stamps, www.LaurasStampPad.com

These are some of the stamp sets. Many of these come as a Bundle with coordinating Framelits or Punches! Now I need to find time to PLAY!!!

Bling & Baby Bows, www.LaurasStampPad.com

And then there are amazing accessories. Bling, Bows, and Punches are some of my absolute favorites! I’m super excited about that label punch since my favorite Decorative Label Punch is retiring. Now you have bows made already for you! How amazing is that?!?!?! I flipped over the second one so you could see that they already have adhesive on the back, just peel off the sticky. Love it!!!!

Can’t wait till June 1st? You can always join Stampin’ Up and get these products in your Starter Kit! You get to pick out $125 in any product you would like (retiring, current items, and sneak peak items) for just $99 and FREE SHIPPING! My Top 10 Retiring Items I’m Sad to See Go!

Posted on

When the retiring list comes out I’m always sad to see certain items go. Here is my Top 10 retiring items I’m sad to see go this year! I always take a deep breath and know that while I’m sad these are leaving, that just means there is more room for fabulous new products to come out. I hope you feel the same way!

Top 10 Retiring Items, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Decorative Label Punch – So my husband was reading off the list and I was marking everything in the catalog. When he mentioned this one, I screamed and just about cried. I love love love this punch and use it so much. I think I will hold on to mine even though I normally get rid of everything that retires. This punch just means so much to me. You can see samples using it here, here, and here. I really could go on and on with samples.

Tin of Cards Stamp Set – I love this set because it has the perfect size greeting especially to fit into the Decorative Label Punch. It also has a greeting for almost every occasion. I loved the Tin of Cards as well! My set is almost black because I used it so much and the stamps are stained. You can see samples here and here!

Mint Macaron  – I have really fallen in love with this color. It’s such a beautiful soft green and even looks a little blue sometimes. I’ll miss you Mint Macaron!

Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper – Okay we all know I love pink and sparkle. Um…hello?!?!?! This is just that and I love it. Good thing we can always create pink glimmer paper with re-inkers and the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.

Bitty Butterfly Punch – This punch as well as the Elegant Butterfly Punch are just so beautiful alone and paired with the Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set.

Elegant Butterfly Punch – Again, I am sad to see this one go. I just love butterflies. You can see some samples using this here, here, and here!

Woodgrain Embossing Folder (Sold Out) – Okay, so I feel like I have fallen off the embossing folder train a bit but I still like this one for backgrounds and Man Cards! I tend to use certain products a ton and then not as much. I feel like I have gone from Embossing Folders to Heat Embossing more.

Perpetual Birthday Calendar Stamp Set – This set is perfect for backgrounds and memory keeping. I have done lots of quick and simple cards using this set. I have also created a Birthday Calendar even after the kit was no longer available. See more samples here and here!

Oh So Succulent Stamp Set and Succulent Framelits – I love flowers and this set was so much fun! The little flowers were perfect for cards and home decor pieces. Succulents are so in right now. Check out all these amazing samples here, here, and here!

So Detailed Framelits – I was just starting to really have fun with these. Check out some of my samples here and here! I guess I will need to start playing with the Detailed Floral Framelits!

So there are my Top 10 Retiring Favorites! How many of these are on your list? Tell me in the comments below what you are most sad to see go.

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend and I’ll see you back here on Monday!

April 2017 Paper Pumpkin Kit – A Sara Thing!!!

Posted on

I love the April 2017 Paper Pumpkin Kit – A Sara Thing because I love watercolor pencils and black & which with a pop of color!!!! It was super fun to put this kit together! Look at all of the goodies. You can see the complete unboxing of this kit here!

April 2017 Paper Pumpkin Kit - A Sara Thing, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I love the little mini Colored Pencils and I can always use these for future projects as well! To be honest, I actually used an Aqua Painter rather than a cup of water and the provided brush! Less mess and I tend to make lots of them! 🙂 Here are all of the cards completed!!!

A Sara Thing Card Kit, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Look at all of that beautiful color! This picture just makes me so happy and look at all of those cards from one kit! Amazing! Now let’s focus on each card set!

Diamond Watercolor, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Okay so did you also notice that the envelope have that fabulous label and each set has a different inside pattern! How fabulous?!?!? So this set I had a little problem with it….can you guess? I stamped the greetings on the white panels and didn’t realize it needs to be placed low or high so the diamond doesn’t cover it. Oops! The lower right corner one is a little covered but I think it will be okay! I simply scribbled over each diamond with the pencils and then blended the colors together with the Aqua Painter! Next, I wiped off the top with a napkin to get any excess ink off the embossed portion. The flowers are a little chunky but I loved how they accented the card so I added them on!

Acrylic Flowers, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This pattern was super fun to color with. My favorite one is the lower left corner. I just love it! The Black and White Washi Tape is the perfect accent on the bottom of the watercolor paper! Love it! The flowers add a little bling and texture too!

Watercolor Wash Background, www.LaurasStampPad.com

These were the most fun and my favorite set because it’s so easy to just swish back and forth to watercolor. Blending the blue and yellow to make green was super fun too! I love the little random dot stamp too! Another tip is that there are few greetings that fit on the banner because the “You” doesn’t fit. I just stamped the “You” onto the watercolor paper! It turned  out perfectly!

Leftover April Paper Pumpkin, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Another reason I love Paper Pumpkin is because look at all of these leftovers I have to use on other projects!! I forgot to put the little paint brush in the photo as well! I just love Paper Pumpkin!!!

Which card set is your favorite? Let me know in the comments below! Also, if you get Paper Pumpkin, what is your favorite part of it? I can’t wait to see what you say!

If you would like to join in the fun, be sure to sign up for your Paper Pumpkin Kit before May 10th! Click here to get started! For just $19.95 (plus tax), you get a complete kit with stamps, ink and supplies. Your first kit comes with a clear block! I think it’s worth every penny!!!

Stamping Your Own Designer Paper!!!

Posted on

Stamping your own designer paper is fun and makes endless possibilities for all of your projects! I used the So In Love Stamp Set for this beauty!!!

Stamping Your Own Designer Paper, www.LauraStampPad.com

You all know I just love flowers and this card just makes my heart happy! The color combination is fabulous too – Mint Macaron, Blushing Bride and Rose Red!

I started with a Mint Macaron card base. Next I took a piece of Very Vanilla (3-3/4″ x 5″) and stamped all over the background using the So In Love Stamp Set. The largest flower was stamped in Rose Red Ink. The set of four smaller flowers were stamped in Blushing Bride Ink. The greenery was stamped in Mint Macaron Ink. Be sure that when you are stamping your own designer paper that you fall off the edges so it looks like the pattern continues!

Once it was all stamped, I layered  it onto a piece of Rose Red measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″! Then I wrapped some Mint Macaron Sheer Linen Ribbon around it and tied it into a knot. Because of the ribbon, I added this layer to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. This way it lays nice and smooth! For the greeting, I die cut a circle from the Stitched Shapes Framelits and stamped it in Rose Red Ink. I added it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and finished it off with some Pearls!

Background Love, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card would be perfect for so many different occasions. If you changed up the colors it would be fit each season too! Also, that color combination is just fabulous! Let me know your favorite color combo in the comments below! I need some new ones to try!!!

Fill Your Basket of Colorful Flowers!!!

Posted on

Easter is almost here and some may be filling their baskets with eggs while others fill a basket of colorful flowers!!! I love these colors and Spring look!!! Spring is my favorite Season and Easter is my favorite holiday!!!
Basket of Colorful Flowers, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I started with a Daffodil Delight card base! Then I took a piece of the Sending Love Designer Series Paper (5-1/4″ x 4″) and placed it on the card front diagonal. The look is super fun but sometimes I wonder if it just looked like I messed up and make it crooked. 🙂 I’ll take it!

Next, I took a piece of Whisper White (5″ x 3-3/4″) and adhered 2 pieces of grass die cut from the Basket Builder Framelits. When I placed the grass down, I just left the gap in the middle where I planned on putting the basket so you can’t actually see it! As for adhesive, I just ran some Snail along the bottom of the grass and stuck it down! I stamped the greeting in the upper left corner from the Basket Bunch Stamp Set. I used Basic Gray Ink and stamped twice before going back to the ink pad for that shadow look. Next, I added this to the card front diagonal and worked on the focal point!

For the focal point, I stamped the basket, flowers, and leaves (from the Basket Bunch Stamp Set) in Basic Gray Ink onto Whisper White scraps. I like to use gray for that softer look! I die cut out all of the pieces with the coordinating Basket Builder Framelits (Bundle & Save 10%). Die-cutting out the pieces before coloring is best so that if you cut them incorrectly, you haven’t wasted coloring time! For the coloring, I used the Watercolor Pencils and Blender Pens!

For the basket, I placed the handle on the back and secured  the ends with a Stampin’ Dimensional on either side and one at the bottom. Don’t place a dimensional in the middle because you will want to stick your greenery down in the basket! I wrapped some Crushed Curry Baker’s Twine around the basket and and tied it into a bow and placed it on the card front! Now it’s time to assemble the flowers and greenery using Mini Glue Dots and Stampin’ Dimensionals. You can fill the basket as much as you want!

This card could be created for any occasion or season just by changing the greeting and colors! What is your favorite flower? Let me know in the comment below! Mine is a Peony but I do love all bright flowers! They make me smile!

I Love Bright Spring Flowers!!!

Posted on

These bright Spring flowers on this card scream Spring!!! I just love it! It’s my favorite season for sure! Flowers are always my favorite to stamp on cards!!! This card is just so amazing!

Bright Spring Flowers, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I started with a Daffodil Delight card base. Then I took a piece of Whisper White (4″ x 4″) and stamped the flowers from the Basket Bunch Stamp Set in Basic Gray Ink. I like using gray for the more subtle look! Using the Watercolor Pencils and Blender Pens, I colored in the flowers! After blending the color, I went back in with the pencil and added some accents! I have really been loving the Watercolor Pencils! You can check out so more fun samples here, here, and here!

Now that I have the flowers colored, I layered this onto a piece of Melon Mambo measuring 4-1/8″ x 4-1/8″ and added it to the top of the card base! For the greeting, I stamped it in Basic Gray from the Basket Bunch Stamp Set. Then I punched it out with the Classic Label Punch! I added the greeting with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. Since the greeting is so skinny, I used some of the dimensional border and trimmed it to fit! To finish off the card, I wrapped some Old Olive Baker’s Twine around the card and tied it into a bow. TIP: Tie it into a double knot first so it is nice and tight around the card before tying the bow!

Do you love bright Spring Flower too or do they make your allergies flare up?? Let me know in the comments below!!!

Don’t forget that tomorrow is the last day to get in the Ink Pad Giveaway!!! Click here to learn more and click here to start shopping with the Hostess Code: FCCVREYF. I can’t wait to draw the winners name on Friday!!! I’m so excited!!

Just Cut Off a Little Bit!!!

Posted on

This card may not seem any different than other cards but it is. I just cut off a little bit of the card front and let the focal point hang over. You can see a bit of the inside of the card which is super cool!

Just Cut Off a Little Bit, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I got this card idea from fellow stamper, Terri Gaines! After seeing this idea I feel in love and did a few exactly like her’s and then changed it up a bit like this one! I used a different piece of the Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper and added Calypso Coral Enamel Shapes!

I started with a piece of Mint Macaron measuring 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″. Then I folded it like a regular card base and cut off 1″ from the front of the card. See…just cut off a little bit! This is the peek-a-boo part that we now get to see the inside of the card! Next, I added a piece of the Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper measuring 3″ x 5-1/4″ to the front panel. I didn’t do it in this sample photo but I did add a piece of Whisper White to the side of the card (4″ x 1-14″). This really makes the card POP more and your greeting on the inside is easier to read!

Now for the focal point! I cut a piece of Mint Macaron (3-1/4″ x 2-1/2″) and Whisper White (2-1/4″ x 2-1/2″). Using the Oh So Succulent Stamp Set, I stamped the large flower in Mint Macaron Ink. I stamped the outline in full strength and the solid flower stamp after stamping off once. Be sure you are stamping at the top of  the Whisper White so there is room for the greeting down below! Next, I placed this onto Mint Macaron towards the top! Using the Whisper White Baker’s Twine I wrapped it around and tied it into a bow!

Very Special Person, www.LaurasStampPad.com

To finish it off, I added a few Calypso Coral Enamel Shapes. Terri used the White Perfect Accents! There are so many different options on colors to use depending on the piece of designer paper you choose! I added the focal point to the card by placing 3 Stampin’ Dimensionals along the left hand side and placing it on the card. You want to make sure the dimensionals don’t fall off the front part of the card and seal it shut!

I just love this card concept and plan on using it again for another card style! If you would like to see another sample using a similar concept, check out this one! Do you like making basic cards or ones where you just cut off a little bit or fancy folds? Let me know in the comments below!

Have an amazing weekend and I’ll see you next Monday!

My Succulent Garden Home Decor Piece!!!

Posted on

Succulents are so in right now as home decor, greeting cards, and so much more! So when I thought of how to decorate my Cake Dome for Spring, I instantly thought of a little Succulent Garden Home Decor piece!!! I love how it turned out!!!

Succulent Garden Home Decor, www.LaurasStampPad.com

My cake dome just makes me so happy as it is! Now it’s even more fabulous with these flowers as it sits on the counter in my kitchen! I just love it!!!! Let’s get started on how I created it because it was rather easy!

For the Succulent Garden Home Decor piece, I die cut the 6 layers of flowers from the Succulent Framelits! The colors I used were Garden Green, Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Elegant Eggplant and Old Olive. The large flowers are all 6 layers and I brushed the edges of the flowers with my Sponge Dauber! To get the petals to curl, I just ran it over my Bone Folder like curling ribbon. Here are the color combinations I used:

~Pool Party Cardstock with Elegant Eggplant brushed on the edges

~Garden Green & Old Olive Cardstock with Elegant Eggplant brushed on the edges

~Old Olive Cardstock with Whisper White brushed on the edges

Big Succulents, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I made the large flowers and  realized I needed filler or moss! I reached out on Facebook and everyone suggested moss from the dollar store. So off I went to the store and got some moss and some green covered “rocks”. Perfect. I kept the rock sponge that I had from the beach and placed it in the middle with moss under it. Then I placed all of the “green rocks” all around. Next I tucked in the big succulents and die cut a few of the smaller 3 flowers in Elegant Eggplant and Calypso Coral. I added a Pearl to the center and attached them to the display with a Mini Glue Dot!
