Home for Christmas!!!

Home For Christmas, www.LaurasStampPad.com

The Home For Christmas Designer Series Paper Pack has a lot of classic images – houses, Santa, Rudolph, ornaments, and poinsettias. I was looking for a quick and simple card and I needed to create a lot of them. I cut the 12″ x 12″ sheets into 3″ x 4″ pieces so I was able to get 12 pieces from each sheet! Since there are 12 sheets in the pack, that’s 144 pieces or cards that you can create! Fabulous!!!! I used a Pool Party card base measuring 4-1/4″ x 11″ and adhered the Home For Christmas Designer Series Paper! I added the greeting directly to the card front. The greeting is from the Reason For the Season Stamp Set but you could use any of your favorite greetings! It is stamped in Chocolate Chip! I finished it off with a piece of Real Red Cotton Ribbon tied into a knot! You could always change up the greeting or pop it up on a punched or die cut piece of cardstock. You can change up the ribbon or add some Dazzling Details to make the snow sparkle!!!

Flat Santa, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Here is another sample using a different piece of paper from the Home For Christmas Designer Series Paper. My husband told me I needed a Santa card and I pulled out this paper. He said, “Flat Santa!” Now every time I see this card, that’s all I can think of! 🙂 I think that’s hilarious – Flat Santa!!!

Corner Flip Card!!!

Corner Flip Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I am really loving the Black, White and touch of Gold this season! This card only enhances that feeling. Check out this card for my other favorite card! This card was created with the Corner Flip Technique which I learned from fellow stamper – Julie! Let’s get started!

For this cool technique, you will start with a piece of cardstock measuring 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ which is a regular card size! Using your Stampin’ Trimmer with the Score Blade, score the card in half at 4-1/4″! This is what creates a regular sized card. You can always just fold the card in half and use your Bone Folder. Now move the cardstock over the 3” mark and using the cutting blade cut from 2-1/2″ down to 4-7/8”. Then turn the cardstock 90 degrees and line it up at 3” mark again and using the Cutting Blade cut from 3” line up to the 5/8” line. This will look like an L-Shape cut! Now you are all done and you will just press on the corner of the L-Shape and flip the corners over! You can secure the corner down with a Mini Glue Dot! If you would like to see a Video Tutorial, check out Julie’s here! Now it is time to decorate! I used a piece of Gold Foil Paper measuring 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″. Then on a piece of Whisper White measuring 2-1/2 x 2-1/2″, I stamped the greeting from the Peaceful Pines Stamp Set and the pine cones from the Wonderland Stamp Set! Both of these were stamped in Basic Black. I did go back to this card and added a little bit of Gold Dazzling Details to the pine cone! I love it! The Winter Wonderland Designer Series Paper at the bottom measures 4-1/4″ x 1-1/2″!

Corner Fold Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I did add a piece of Whisper White to the inside of the card so you can write on it and to have the fabulous white border! I really love all the pops of gold and the simplicity! This would also make a cute kids card!

Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Little Rudolph is so precious!!! He was created with the Owl Builder Punch and Bird Builder Punch! You can see a Video Tutorial on how he was created here! I added the Reindeer to a piece of Merry Moments Designer Series Paper. I thought he needed a little something under his chin as well so I added a knot of Real Red Cotton Ribbon and attached it with a Mini Glue Dot! I added the Reindeer to a piece of Whisper White measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″ and stamped the greeting from the Snow Place Stamp Set in Real Red. This was all added to a Mossy Meadow card base! This card is super cute and would be perfect for the little ones on your list and everyone else!!!

Technique Tuesday – Holiday One Sheet Wonder!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! That means that I have a fabulous technique to share with you today! Tis the Season to be jolly so we are making quick and simple cards using the One Sheet Wonder Technique!!! I got 13 cards from one sheet of 12″ x 12″ Home for Christmas Designer Series Paper!

One Sheet Wonder - Christmas, www.LaurasStampPad.com

All adorable, all quickly created, all using the same greeting!!! I honestly whipped these up in an hour or so! I didn’t actually time myself but it was really quick! Let’s get started!

12 x 12 One Sheet Wonder Template

Here is the template. For this set of cards, I cut that top 2″ x 12″ strip into 2 pieces of 2″ x 5-1/2″ to really use up the paper and get more cards out of it! You can also leave in all of those little slivers and create the same style and use up even more of the sheet! I used the same greeting for all of these cards. It is from the Peaceful Pines Stamp Set and punched out with the Decorative Label Punch! I stamped it onto Very Vanilla and layered it with similar colors that coordinate with the paper – Real Red, Mossy Meadow, Mint Macaron, Pool Party, and Very Vanilla!

Diagonal One Sheet Wonder, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This is the bottom right hand corner piece. I ripped it diagonally and placed it on the corners of a Real Red and Very Vanilla card base!

Holiday One Sheet Wonder, www.LaurasStampPad.com

These cards use the 3-1/2″ x 4-1/2″ piece and 2-1/4″ x 4-1/2″! I used both sides of the Designer Series Paper for these cards!

Home for Christmas One Sheet Wonder, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I really had a hard time deciding which side to use for all of these cards! Another tip is that you can use your scraps for the layering colors. You don’t need a full piece to layer behind it, instead you can use little strips of paper on either side!

Simple Holiday Card Set, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I used the 2″ squares for the middle card and off set them with a 2″ Mossy Meadow square! I really like how it turned out!

Simple One Sheet Wonder Cards, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Rather than cutting three 1-1/2″ squares, I just left it as a piece of 1-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ in the card laying down! I really went basic for this set because I needed to get these done quickly! That is all 13 cards!!! You can always mix it up and change the pieces as you see fit!

If you would like to see this in action, check out my Video Tutorial here or below!! Don’t forget to give it a thumbs up if you liked it!

Fancy Foil Vellum!!!

Posted on

Snowflake Vellum, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Vellum is one of those materials that I don’t tend to work with a lot! It can be tricky since regular Snail Adhesive shows up when you use it behind vellum! Since it is somewhat sheer it can be difficult to place it over a white or a color or a pattern! I did create the card above with the Holidays Fancy Foil Designer Vellum and I love it!!! I really love using purple for the holidays! It is so elegant!

I started with a Blackberry Bliss card base and because it is so dark I added a Whisper White piece to the inside (4″ x 5-1/4″). I cut 2 of those pieces in white and used the other for the front. I cut a piece of the Holidays Fancy Foil Designer Vellum the same size and laid it on top of the Whisper White. For adhesive, I used Snail Adhesive and placed it strategically under the greeting and snowflakes. I added a bit in the middle of the card and placed it down. Then I added the greeting from the Flurry of Wishes Stamp Set stamped in Smoky Slate. I die cut the greeting with the Deco Label Framelits and layered it with another in Blackberry Bliss. I added the greeting to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals! Then I stamped a few snowflakes from the Flurry of Wishes Stamp Set and punched them out with the Snow Flurry Punch (Bundle & Save 15%). Once I determined where I wanted to place the snowflake, I would lift up the vellum and add some Snail Adhesive. So technically the corners and other spots are not glued down but the vellum is secure on the card front! I actually really like that look for this card because it makes the snowflakes look like they are floating and that silver foil really looks nice and shiny!!! Of course, I finished the card off with a Rhinestone in the center of the snowflakes!!!

Inside Snowflake Vellum, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Since I had a few extra snowflakes punched out, I thought I would add them to the inside as a little decoration! I love it!!! You open it up and think you will see a blank inside or just writing but there are fabulous snowflakes too! 🙂

You can see another sample using the Flurry of Wishes Stamp Set here! I love it and you can use this set into the Winter months as well for Birthdays and more!

Believe in the Miracle!!!

Posted on

Wonder Peace, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I think my favorite part of this card is the greeting. There is just something so fabulous and touching about it! This simple card was super quick and fun to create! I started with a Pool Party card base. I stamped all over a piece of Whisper White with the snowflakes from the Flurry of Wishes Stamp Set in Pool Party! I added that piece to the card front and then added a little strip (leftovers from another project) of Neutrals Designer Series Paper to the left hand side! This is a great way to use up those scraps or create lots of cards from one 12″ x 12″ sheet! I stamped the greeting from the Flurry of Wishes Stamp Set in Basic Gray onto Whisper White cardstock and punched it out with the Decorative Label Punch! Of course the greeting was added to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals BUT FIRST I added some loops of Silver Metallic Thread to the back! You can check out a Video Tutorial on that here! Simple and fabulous!

Polka Dots & Penguins!!!

Posted on

Penguin, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I have been having lots of fun with this little penguin! I have really loved him more than the snowmen which I’m kind of surprised! All of them from the Snow Place Stamp Set are all just so cute! You can get the coordinating Snow Friends Framelits as well. Purchase them together and you will save 15%! I did everything on this card on one layer because I was going for a simple look!

I started with a Cherry Cobbler card base and added a piece of Merry Moments Designer Series Paper Stack measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″! There are 24 pieces of this design in the stack so that makes making multiples much easier! I stamped the penguin from the Snow Place Stamp Set in Basic Black and colored in his feet and beak with a Pumpkin Pie marker! I stamped the little bow tie in Real Red. I used the Circle Framelits to cut out the penguin and create the Old Olive layer! I added this piece to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals as well as the greeting! The greeting was from the November 2014 Paper Pumpkin Kit! I am doing a large class with lots of Holiday cards using many different sets so I dipped into a few of my Paper Pumpkin Stamps to make sure I had different greetings on each! The greeting was punched out with the Washi Label Punch! I brushed the edges with a Real Red Sponge Dauber to make it pop out more!

Which image do you prefer – the snowmen or the penguin?? Let me know in the comments below!

Pretty Petals Card Bundle!!!

Yesterday, I shared how you can create over 70 cards with the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack! Today I’m going to share the rest of the samples with you! Let’s get started!

Anniversary Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card uses a Very Vanilla card base. The Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper measures 5-1/4″ x 4″. You can get 1 of these from one sheet and since there are 4 sheets of this pattern, that is 4 cards like this! The Designer Series Paper is layered onto a piece of Mint Macaron measuring 5-3/8″ x 4-1/8″. I wrapped some Silver Baker’s Twine around the paper and tied it into a knot. The greeting is from the Blessed By God Stamp Set and die cut with the Lots of Labels Framelits. I added the greeting to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. To finish it off, I punched out two hearts with the Itty Bitty Accents Punch and added a Pearl to one of them. It is so cute! It makes it look like a little girl and boy heart! This card would be perfect for an Anniversary or Wedding!

Polka Dots and Flowers, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card uses a Very Vanilla card base. The Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper measures 5-1/4″ x 4″. You can get 1 of these from one sheet and since there are 4 sheets of this pattern, that is 4 cards like this! I added the flowers to the card with Stampin Dimensionals and placed a few Pearls on each! I love the Black and White with a pop of color!

Lace - Thank You, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card uses a Mint Macaron card base. The Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper measures 4″ x 5-1/4″. You can get 1 of these from one sheet and since there are 4 sheets of this pattern, that is 4 cards like this! I cut the piece of Designer Series Paper into 2 pieces so I could use both sides. The top piece measures 4″ x 2-1/4″ and the bottom measures 4″ x 3″! I tied a bow at the spot that the paper comes together with the Mint Macaron Lace Trim! I stamped the greeting from the One Big Meaning Stamp Set!

Pretty Petals Thank You Note, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card uses a Calypso Coral card base. The Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper measures 3-3/4″” x 5″. You can get 1 of these from one sheet and since there are 4 sheets of this pattern, that is 4 cards like this! With some of the leftover pieces, I cut a 3-3/4″ x 1″ piece to use the back side pattern for that strip under the greeting. The greeting is from the Tin of Cards Stamp Set and punched out with the 2″ Circle Punch, then layered onto a 2-3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch! I layered the Designer Series Paper onto a piece of Old Olive measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″ and then placed the other strip of Designer Series Paper on the top half! I attached the greeting with Stampin’ Dimensionals. To finish it off, I tied a bow with some Calypso Coral Seam Binding!

Butterfly Moment, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card uses a Calypso Coral card base. The Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper measures 5-1/4″” x 4″. You can get 1 of these from one sheet and since there are 4 sheets of this pattern, that is 4 cards like this! I stamped the butterfly from the Watercolor Wings Stamp Set in Pink Pirouette, Calypso Coral and Watermelon Wonder! Click here to see a tutorial on that. I die cut the butterfly with the coordinating Bold Butterfly Framelits (Bundle & Save 15%). I added the butterfly to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals and finished it off with a few Pearls. For the greeting, I used the Watercolor Wings Stamp Set on a Lots of Labels Die Cut that was cut in half. I love the look like it’s a banner coming down!

Cross Over Happiness, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card uses a Very Vanilla card base and I embossed the front with the Elegant Dots Embossing Folder. The Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper measures 2″ x 5″ and 3″ x 2″. You can get 1 of the big pieces and 3 of the little pieces from one sheet. Since there are 4 sheets of this pattern, you can create at least 6 cards like this! The larger piece is layered on a piece of Pacific Point measuring 2-1/4″ x 5-1/4″ and adhered to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The smaller piece of DSP was layered onto a piece of Old Olive measuring 3-1/4″ x 2-1/4″. I added this to the card with Stampin Dimensionals on the right hand side and Snail Adhesive on the left. This makes it level across! I stamped the greeting from the Blessed By God Stamp Set and punched it out with the 2-3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch! I finished the card off with a few punched flowers with the Petite Petals Punch and some Black Candy Dots! TIP: If you run out of black, you can always color in any of the other colors with a black sharpie!

Wedding Bliss!!!

Black, Red, and White Wedding Invite, www.LaurasStampPad.comYou all know how much I love weddings and even more when they are friends or family of mine! Today, I’m going to share with you my friend, Megan’s wedding which was this past weekend! I started working with Megan on the invites a year ago. She knew exactly what she wanted after looking at a few samples of mine – Red, Black, and White and the pocket style invite! One of my favorite stamp sets – Baroque Motifs, which is retired, is one that I use a lot for wedding stationary. It is that perfect elegance to add to an invitation. You could also use the Flowering Flourishes Stamp Set. That image was stamped down the left hand side of the invitation as well as all of the cards in the pocket!

Pocket Cards for a Wedding Invite, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I love how it all turned out! For the belly band to wrap around the invitation, I used Read Red cardstock with some Organza White Ribbon. Then I added the Monogram Letter to the middle after punching it out with the Decorative Label Punch! I love it!

The two cards that are above the invitation were Thank You Notes that Megan wanted to match her Invitations. I simply stamped the baroque image in the center and added a monogram letter. The letter is punched out with the 2″ Circle Punch and layered onto the 2-3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch.

Wedding Card Box, www.LaurasStampPad.com

A few days before the wedding, Megan reached out to me asking for a banner that said Cards to place on this box. She left the design all up to me. I decided to keep the theme going. I used Black Satin Striped Ribbon to hang each of the tags. Each tag was punched at the top with the Scallop Tag Topper Punch and rounded on the bottom with the Corner Rounder Punch! I layered a piece of Whisper White on top and stamped the letters and a little corner of that Baroque image. I love it! I used Mini Glue Dots to hold each of the tags in their spot on the ribbon!

Thank You Notes, www.LaurasStampPad.com

A few weeks before the wedding, Megan asked for more thank you notes because she was out of the ones from before. I asked what design she would like and she sent me a photo of fabric that was black and white stripes with gold dots all over. These are what I came up with! I used the Neutrals Designer Series Paper for the polka dots and stripes onto a Whisper White card base. Then I added various sizes of circles punched out of Gold Glimmer Paper! The greeting is from the One Big Meaning Stamp Set! She loved them and ended up asking for more so that she could use them for wedding stuff and after!

Polka Dot Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

After all of those circles and dots, I couldn’t stop myself and so I created this wedding card for the fabulous couple. I used some leftover scraps from the Neutrals Designer Series Paper, Real Red cardstock, and Silver Foil Paper! I loved it! The greeting is from the Blessed By God Stamp Set!

I love how it all turned out and it all came together perfectly! Megan, the bride, loved it all and was really excited each time I created another piece for her! It makes my heart happy when I can help a Bride create the wedding of their dreams. You can check out some more of my work at Weddings.LaurasStampPad.com. If you are getting married or know someone who is, feel free to pass my information along. I can work with any budget and create according to the wedding colors and theme!

I hope you enjoyed all of this and I know I have been randomly sharing bits and pieces of the wedding for a few months now! 🙂

Technique Tuesday – Owl Builder Punch Art!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday everyone!!! You know what that means….I have some fabulous techniques to share with you today! Today we are playing with Punch Art! It is so much fun to create lots of different creatures and images from the punches you already have (or need to get after today)! When you can use a punch for more ways that the obvious circle or square, it makes it worth so much more as well! Let’s get started!!!

Tulips Punch Art, www.LaurasStampPad.com

We will start with the Tulips! I love tulips and they make me think of Spring…..can we just skip Winter this year? These tulips can be created in any color! I used Wisteria Wonder to punch out 3 owl bodies from the Owl Builder Punch. I snipped off the feet of the owl and brushed the edges with Elegant Eggplant and a Sponge Dauber. I like how this gives texture and dimension to the tulip. For the stems and leaves, I used Pear Pizzazz cardstock. I cut long strips for the stems. They don’t have to be rectangle or perfect because flower stems never are so make it a long triangle or a short rectangle or a not perfectly straight stem! It all works! The leaves were punched out with the Bird Builder Punch for the final touch! You can create bouquets or just a few along the bottom of your project or just one elegant tulip! I love these!

Pear Punch Art, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This little pear is super easy to create with the Owl Builder Punch! Just punch out an owl body with some Pear Pizzazz cardstock and cut off the feet and ears, slopping to the center to give that rounded off look. Then with a little piece of scrap Pear Pizzazz or brown of your choice, cut a little piece for the stem. I brushed the edges of the pear with a Chocolate Chip Sponge Dauber to give texture and make it look rounded! Simple and fabulous!

Kitty Punch Art, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This little kitty is just adorable and would look super fabulous looking out the window using the Hearth and Home Thinlet Dies! For the kitty, I punched out an owl body in Basic Black with the Owl Builder Punch. Then I punched just a sliver of the body from the side to create that little curved tail. I adhered the owl body to a piece of Bohemian Designer Series Paper with the tail off to the left and then trimmed the bottom off. I like using the Designer Series Paper as a guide to cut straight! There is your kitty silhouette! I did take a Basic Black Marker to create a few whiskers. You could create a face and have the kitty looking at you if you wished! Mine is looking out the window!

Guitar Punch Art, www.LaurasStampPad.com

The guitar is perfect for any rockstar!!!! You could use Silver, Gold, Red, or Dazzling Diamonds for your guitar. You can even spritz the Dazzling Diamonds with some re-inker and get any color! ROCK ON!!!! I punched an owl out in the Gold Glimmer Paper and cut off the feet. You will also need the Owl Builder Punch for 1 eye (smaller circle above the body) and 2 hearts. Placing the 2 hearts point to point, place a Mini Glue Dot on the end of some Basic Black measuring 3/4″ wide and however long you wish and stick it on the hearts. This creates your guitar end. The little eye will be added to the center of the glimmer paper with a Mini Glue Dot. This is the whole in the guitar. Now adhere the other end of the long black piece to the guitar body. You are all set! You could always take a Signo White Gel Pen and create strings! Love it!!!

If you would like to see all of these in action, check out the Video Tutorial below or click here! Don’t forget to give the video a Thumbs Up if you liked it! Let me know in the comments below which Punch Art items you would like to see next month! You can see last month’s Punch Art here!

Happy Punchin’
