Little Blue Bird!!!

My husband sent me a photo of robins all over the ground outside his work and he said, “Spring is coming!” I’m not sure if robins on the ground mean Spring is coming but I’ll take it. I love the colors of Spring with birds, flowers, trees, and grass all gaining their color!!! Just like this cute card with a little blue bird!!!

I started with a Soft Sky card base and layered on a piece of Night of Navy measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″! Next, I took a piece of Whisper White (3-3/4″ x 5) and stamped the dots from the Petal Palette Stamp Set along the bottom. I stamped them in Night of Navy Ink starting at the bottom and then 3 more times without going back to the ink pad. This is how I got that variation in color. I also moved a little back and forth with each stamp to fill in and not just stack them all going straight up.

Next, I started adding all the layers and texture. Using the coordinating Petals and More Framelits, I die cut out all the pieces. The greenery in Old Olive, the lattice in Silver Glimmer Paper, and the label in Soft Sky! Using the Fine Tip Glue Pen, I added the lattice and the greenery. Then I stamped the greeting from the Petal Palette Stamp Set (Bundle & Save 10%) onto the label in Night of Navy Ink and added it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. This gives some dimension to the project and the foam dimensionals adhere well between all the bumps of the cardstock in the die cuts!

Now on to that little blue bird! I stamped him from the Petal Palette Stamp Set in Basic Gray Ink onto Whisper White. I like the more subtle look of the gray verses black. Then I made a little color palette on a clear block with some water and the Brusho Crystal Colour. Using an Aqua Painter, I colors in the birdie and once it was dry, I die cut it with the Petals and More Framelits! Then I added him to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals!

I think this card would look fabulous with a little yellow bird and maybe layers of yellow and coral. What are some birdie colors you would create?? Let me know in the comments below!

Technique Tuesday – Eclipse Card!!!

Happy Tuesday!!! You all know that means I have a fabulous technique to share today! This Eclipse Card is super fun and has a major WOW factor!!!

I love the subtle and double take effect you get with this card! There are also so many options for greetings with this as well!

I started with a Whisper White card base. Then I took a piece of the Bubbles & Fizz Sale-A-Bration Designer Series Paper (4″ x 5-1/4″) and I die cut the word “YOU” in the bottom. The Large Letters Framelits make this super fun and any words could be created!

To keep the letters all lined up and it was easier to move all of them around together, I added some Post-It Note tape across them. After die cutting out the words from the designer paper, I die cut out Bermuda Bay cardstock 3 more times. I totally thought I would need 5 layers but 3 seemed to be plenty for that popped up look! Next, I adhered the designer series paper outline onto the card base making sure to add in the center of the “O”. All of this layer was flat on the card. Then I added all three layers of the cardstock letters in each spot like a puzzle. I used the Fine Tip Glue Pen to adhere the letters. It went fairly quickly. After the cardstock layers, I added the designer series die cut letter to the top layer. Perfect!!!

Now that the focal point is complete, I needed to add the rest of the greeting and embellishments! Using the greeting from the Picture Perfect Birthday Stamp Set that ends in You, I stamped it on a piece of Whisper White. In order to omit the You, I inked it with a Bermuda Bay Marker. Next, I layered that piece on Pool Party cardstock and added it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals for some texture. I added some Whisper White Baker’s Twine around the top of the card because I felt like it needed a little more!

February 2018 Paper Pumpkin – Wildflower Wishes!

Happy Monday!!! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Today, I’m sharing the fabulous February 2018 Paper Pumpkin Kit – Wildflower Wishes! This kit was super fun because I love flowers so much and there was SO MUCH GOODIE in the kit!!! Check out all the cards below!

There were 3 “Celebrate” cards and I loved how the stamps included “your awesomeness” because I don’t really send out a ton of celebrate cards but these are cool! Super fun!!! These greetings were super long so I many of them I put at an angle so the bow and flowers peaked out nicely!

Thank you notes are always my favorite to create from these kits because I always need them! The little greeting “big time” is super cute too!!!

These are cards are super cute and will be perfect for my #40DayChallenge cards to random friends and family just because! I love it!!!

Here are a few tips I wanted to share while making these cards. I placed all 3 flower stamps on the clear block and stamped them all at the same time. This helped with few times back and forth! Also, I found that adding the centers of the greetings…..like the center of the “A” and “B”. You can see how they both look in the center photo! Then for the adhering of the vellum flowers, I just placed a Glue Dot on top of the stem and left it just like that. I didn’t even peel the paper off the top since the greeting over the top was popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals so it didn’t matter anyway!

So because you peel off the outline image of the greeting for the 9 main card, all of the greeting letters are left over. I was able to create another 9 cards with the leftover flower stickers and greetings. There was plenty of Linen Thread left over as well! So I got a total of 18 cards from this kit!!! That’s amazing!!!

Here are my decorated envelopes and leftover pieces after all of these cards. There is just so much goodie in this kit. If you want to see all of the content and reveal of this kit, check out this video!

Beautiful Shining Rainbow!!!

I love bright colors and seeing the Sunshine & Rainbows Bundle made me super happy! This beautiful shining rainbow card is what I created for our Baby Shower Thank You Notes and I’m in love!!!

Isn’t it just precious??? I am loving how they turned out!!!

I started with a Whisper White card base and then I layered on a piece of Soft Sky measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. Next, I took a piece of Whisper White (3-3/4″ x 5″) and did all of the stamping!!! I used the Sunshine & Rainbows Stamp Set from the Occasions Mini Catalog for the sun and rainbow. The greeting is from the One Big Meaning Stamp Set! Since I was making multiples I did these cards in an assembly line and each piece in a section. First, I stamped the greetings in Basic Black Ink and the sun in Crushed Curry Ink. Then, using the Stamparatus, I got started on the rainbows!!! I did 2 of the…….rays? bows?…..colors at a time. I started with smallest ones first and I’m not sure if it really would have mattered whether I started with the smallest or largest!

A few tips for the Stamparatus that I want to share since I used it a lot and over and over. I put one color on the platform at the top and one at the side. Making sure I didn’t get the colors mixed up, I tried to keep one ink pad to the left and one to the right. Most of this stamping was done while watching the Olympics so I had my husband help me out. He inked up one of the rainbow rays while I did the other one and it went much faster!

While there is not a problem with getting ink all over the platform and having that end up on your cardstock, it is a problem with getting it on the magnets. I realized that when I stamped down and ink got onto the magnet, then it got onto my hand when I moved the magnet off the cardstock. This resulted in a nice red fingerprint on one of the cards. That card just has a few more clouds on it! 😉

To finish off the card, I added the clouds that were die cut using the coordinating Rainbow Builder Framelits (Bundle & Save 10%). Some of the clouds I did in Soft Sky cardstock and some I did with the Myths & Magic Glimmer Paper! I’m not sure sure which I like better. Some of the clouds got a little shimmer from the Wink of Stella Pen as well! Let me know which one you would use in the comments below!!! Also, the little heart in the greeting was punched out with Cookie Cutter Builder Punch and added with the Fine Tip Glue Pen.

I added a little sun to the envelope as well!!! I was super excited with how they turned out and can’t wait to use them!

Life Is Better With You!!!

Life Is Better With You In It…..that is just the sweetest greeting ever! This card is great for any occasion and even more for a random note to a friend or family member!

I started with a Whisper White card base and layered on a piece of Basic Black measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″! Next, I took a piece of Whisper White (3-3/4″ x 5″) and added a strip of Petal Passion Designer Series Paper to the left side. Using the greeting from the Petal Palette Stamp Set, I stamped it in Real Red Ink on the upper right side. Then I added this to the card front!

Now for that fabulous floral focal point!!! I stamped the image from the Petal Palette Stamp Set in Archival Black Ink onto Whisper White cardstock. Then creating a color palette on my clear block with the Brusho Crystal Colour, I colored in the flowers and leaves! Check out a Video Tutorial on that here! Just tap the powder onto a clear block and add water with the Aqua Painter. Then start coloring your image!! I really love how the flowers turned out with the color variation…..probably won’t be able to do that again! 🙂 After coloring it and allowing it to dry, I used the coordinating Petals and More Framelits to die cut out the flowers! I added the flowers to the card front with some Stampin’ Dimensionals for a little bit of texture! To finish off the card I added some pops of color with some Enamel Shapes!

Technique Tuesday – Water Drops on Flowers!!!

Happy Tuesday!!! You all know what that means….I have a fabulous technique to share with you today! I’m going to show your how to add water drops on flowers to make it look even more real!!!

So you might not be able to see the drops of water very well….they are clear after all but look closely at the orange center of the yellow flower and a few spots on that purple flower. See that fabulous-ness which is subtle but a major WOW factor!!!

I started with a 3″ x 3″ square of the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper. This size is perfect because you can get 12 squares from one sheet and it uses every inch! I love that! I colored this piece with the Stampin’ Blends Markers. This designer paper makes blending and shading super easy because the darker spots are where I used the dark marker and then I filled in and blended with the lighter marker. I have really fallen in love with Stampin’ Blends lately! Next, I used an Aqua Painter to splatter water over the flowers. Just drip or flick the water till you have the desired amount and then pour some Clear Embossing Powder over the top! Tap off the excess powder but be careful that if there are big drops of water to not make them drip. Then, I set the powder with the Heat Tool!

Next, I layered this piece onto an Old Olive square and then to a Whisper White card base! The greeting was stamped in Rich Razzleberry Ink using the images from the Petal Palette Stamp Set! For a little texture, I added some Crushed Curry Mini Chevron Ribbon and Old Olive Enamel Shapes!

Celebrate the Good Stuff!!!

Whether it is a Birthday, Promotion, Graduation, or Personal Goal…..Celebrate the Good Stuff!!! This card is perfect for so many different occasions!

I am loving this color combination (Peekaboo Peach & Berry Burst) but any color combination would look fabulous for this card!!! School colors, feminine colors, masculine colors, or just whatever you have on hand!

I started with a Peekaboo Peach card base. Next, I layered on a piece of Berry Burst measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. Then, I took a piece of Whisper White (3-3/4″ x 5″) and did all the stamping first. Using the Picture Perfect Birthday Stamp Set, I started with the noise makers! (party poppers, what do you call these?? let me know in the comments!) Starting with the base, I stamped the solid candle piece in Bermuda Bay Ink (stamped off once) and then the dots over the top in full strength. Next, I stamped the curling piece in Peekaboo Peach and then the fringe in Berry Burst. I will say that I think I could have added a little more space for the fringe so maybe I should have stamped that second instead. That’s one of those see what works best for you after trying both ways!

After stamping the noise makers, I filled in with the greeting and added a little decoration on the corners with the confetti. I added a strip of the Picture Perfect Party Designer Series Paper and some Peekaboo Peach Baker’s Twine for some added texture! This layer was added to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals for that smooth look over the ribbon!

Does anyone else think of the Kenny Chesney song when looking at that greeting? Just me? 🙂

#40DayChallenge Update!!!

Happy Friday everyone!!! Today, I wanted to share a #40DayChallenge update to hold me accountable and keep you motivated if you are joining in!!! So far I’m doing good and really enjoying it. I feel like at this time I’m thinking of someone to send a card to so I’m not worried who to send a card to!

I have sent cards for birthdays, thank yous, thinking of you, and Valentine’s Day cards!!! Some have been local and others have been out of state. It’s been a lot of fun spreading the love to those around me! At this point, the hardest part this week was the fact that it rained so much and I didn’t get to the mailbox. 🙂 Also, I have 6 packages with cards in them ready to go out but I haven’t gotten to the Post Office yet. Running errands in the rain is up there pretty high on my top pet peeves! Don’t you agree? Let me know if you do in the comments below! Surely I’m not alone!

Yesterday I showed this fabulous card using the Brusho background! Here are some other color variations that I created – Yellow, Blue, and Orange. My stampers seemed to prefer orange or yellow! The blue was a delicate balance of going to dark and then I’m not sure I like the blue and black combination with banners. What is your favorite – Red (from yesterday) or one of these? Brusho Background With Banners!!!

This card uses lots of fun new stuff from the Occasions Mini Catalog! The Brusho Background is super fun and colorful and then those perfectly placed banners with the Stamparatus!!! Love it!

I started with a Whisper White card base. Next, I took a piece of Watercolor Paper (3″ x 5-1/4″) and brushed some water over it as a base with the Aqua Painter. Then I tapped on some Brusho Crystal Colour and mixed it and brushed it side to side with the Aqua Painter. I would recommend adding just a bit of color because it is easier to add more than it is to take some off when it’s too dark. A little bit goes a long way with Brusho as well. It’s super vibrant! If you have no patience (like me), drying it with the Heat Tool really speeds things up, otherwise just set it aside to dry.

Once it is dry, I placed this piece in my Stamparatus and added the banners from the In The Trees Stamp Set. Using the Stamparatus, for that perfect swag/ I just love how the hinges of the Stamparatus make it so easy to go down the cardstock. I did one swag 3 times skipping a hinge each time and then rotated the image the other direction and stamped twice! Next, I added this to a piece of Real Red cardstock (4″ x 5-1/4″) down the center. Since it is Watercolor Paper and tends to curl, I like to use Tear And Tape for a nice strong, secure hold onto my cardstock. Using the Pick A Pattern Washi Tape pack, I added a little strip to either side of the Watercolor Paper and then added this to the card front!

For the greeting, I stamped it from the In The Trees Stamp Set by stamping the happy first, cleaning it, and then the birthday. Next, I punched it out with the NEW 1/8″ and 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punches. Then I laid some Silver Sequin Trim on the back in a “S” shape and secured it with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added this piece to the card front and using the Fine Tip Glue Pen to add a few loose sequins!
