Creating Your Own Designer Paper!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! You all know what that means! I have a fabulous technique to share with you! In fact, more than one fun technique today! I am showing you some easy stamping with the Stamparatus and creating your own designer paper!!! Let’s get started!

Creating Your Own Designer Paper, www.LaurasStampPad.com

First, let’s start with the fun background “designer paper”! It is super to create because you just stamp all over! I used a piece of Seaside Spray and stamped the images from the Everything Amazing Stamp Set. Starting with the biggest image (the balloons), I stamped them randomly and falling off the cardstock. Then I added in some party hats in Night of Navy Ink as well. Filling in the holes, I stamped the confetti in Seaside Spray Ink. Once this was complete, I tied some ribbon on the bottom and added this to a Grapefruit Grove card base!

For the greeting focal point, I used the Stamparatus and the new Grid Mat! The Whisper White piece measures 4″ x 2-1/2″ and the greeting just fits perfectly which is why the Stamparatus comes in super handy. First, I stamped the Amazing in Seaside Spray. Next, I lined up the other greetings and stamped them in Night of Navy! Of course, once you greetings are all set in the Stamparatus, it’s super easy to make multiples! Boom Boom! Using the Detailed Trio Punch, I rounded 2 of them to add some texture and then added it to the card front. I finished it off with some Rhinestones for a little bling!

Party Hat and Balloons, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the inside of the card, I added a few balloons and a party hat. You could always add those to the envelope too! Check out the supply list below if you would like to make this card! Have fun creating your own designer paper with this stamp set or any set. It’s super fun!

A Good Man!!!

Posted on

I realized I never shared with you the Father’s Day card that I created for my husband! Together Claire and I created a card for her to give him but I also wanted to give him one. Brad is an amazing father and this card/greeting fit perfectly I thought! He really is a good man!

A Good Man, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I love this stamp set – A Good Man! It has wonderful line art images which are great for coloring but also look good stamped solid. The greetings are perfect too! I think it’s just a classic stamp set!

I started with a piece of Balmy Blue cardstock for my card base. Next, I took a piece of Whisper White and stamped the image and greeting in Basic Gray. I like using this for coloring because it is softer. Using Stampin’ Blends, I colored the man and the chair. Now repeat 3 more times…..lol. The first time I used Bronze for his skin tone….too dark. Round 2, I accidentally colored the chair as part of his shirt. Round 3 was finally perfect! Using the Balmy Blue Light Marker, I went over the entire background. It looked very streaky and like a hot mess but I set it aside for a bit. When I looked back at it, it was perfect! Sometimes you need to step back and not look at the close details so much! It’s fabulous!

Next, I layered this onto a piece of Crumb Cake and tied some Linen Thread around it. I ripped the bottom edge for a little texture and beachy roughness! Then I added this to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals! Of course on the inside I got all mushy about Brad being such a good father and such a good man. He is so amazing and I was in tears writing it. Claire and I are so lucky!

Kid's Father's Day Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Here is Claire’s card that she made! She had so much fun! I did video the whole thing but it was like a 20 minute video. Cutest thing ever! She helped pick colors, stamp, and color. I can’t wait for many more years of crafting with her!

Friday Favorites!!!

Happy Friday!!! This has been a crazy week…it went slow? or fast? I don’t even know! I have started playing with Holiday Mini Catalog goodies but yet I’m still holding on to summer as long as I can though especially with my new love Mochi Ice Cream!!! Since it is Friday, I’m sharing my top 5 Friday Favorites of the week! Be sure to let me know yours in the comments below!

Mochi Ice Cream, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I’m all over the place this week with my favorites!!!!

Isn’t that monster the cutest little thing you have ever seen??? Okay….besides the little flamingo booty in glitter shoes walking and crawling all over. OR the unicorn lunch bag?? So much cuteness this week, it’s almost unbearable! 🙂

The second I saw the monster stamp set, I just had to have it. It is super cute. Actually it’s just this 1 monster that I find super cute. The others are more Halloween themed and if you have been following me long, you know I’m not a huge fan of Halloween! I just knew I had to make this little monster in purple and orange. Now I’m totally seeing blue and green too so that will be up next! The Holiday Mini Catalog is AMAZING! I can’t wait to share more of it in the weeks to come!

Resolve saved me this week as it cleaned 3 blue spots out of my carpet. I noticed 1 in my stamp room and had no clue what it was. It isn’t next to my chair and I surely would have noticed when I dropped an ink pad that it made a spot. I haven’t dropped blue recently. My mind was boggled! Then one day I was in the stamp room working and Claire was…..”playing”. AKA making a huge mess and getting into everything. I hear the noise of my return address self-ink stamp being pushed. Instantly I jump up and grab it from Claire and noticed a blue spot on the carpet. Ahhh Haha! That’s how it got there! So now I have 3 spots! Resolve to the rescue!

Have you tried Mochi Ice Cream??? It is weird and amazing all in one. I love it and still feel so confused at the texture and flavor each time I eat it. Let me know if you have had it and what you favorite flavor is!!!

My little cutey wants to walk, crawl, and do steps all day long. She could live outside if we would let her. Each evening we go to the park, walk around outside, or go for a stroller ride….I wish I was the one riding sometimes! 🙂 We love her so much! At the end of the month, she is going to start a kids program that is 3.5 hours on Tuesday and Thursday. This will give me a chance to work uninterrupted and her the chance to play with other kids and with new toys and games. I’m so excited for her and this opportunity as she loves playing with kids. I’m a little worried how I will handle it though. Getting some routine into our schedule excites me A LOT! We got her a little unicorn backpack and lunch bag and they are the cutest!

Those are my top 5 Friday Favorites! Let me know yours in the comments! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and I’ll see you back here on Monday! Happy Stampin’

It’s That Time of Year….

Can you believe it??? It’s that time of year when school starts again and people start talking about summer being over. I don’t know about you but I’m holding on to summer as long as possible even if school has started. The weather is still HOT so it’s summer. People are also talking about the upcoming holidays and the stores have Pumpkin Spice everything on the shelves. Stampin’ Up is also getting ready with the reveal of the Holiday Mini Catalog coming on September 4th!

It's that time of year, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I have started sharing my Designer Series Paper reveals that you all love! This gives you a chance to see the full sheet of the NEW Designer Series Papers from the 2019 Holiday Mini Catalog!! The catalog just doesn’t seem to show off just how fabulous….or not so fabulous some of these papers are. So far I am loving them all.

Click here to check out the Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper that I posted earlier this week. I LOVE this paper…..except the name. I’m not sure I’ll ever get it right without sounding crazy. I have asked google to say it for me and still I think I’m getting it wrong. Tuwell….is kinda how I’ve decided it is. Let me know in the comments what you think of the paper and how you would pronounce it! This will be available on September 4th when the Holiday Mini Catalog goes live!

Today, I’m sharing the Wrapped in Plaid Specialty Paper on my YouTube Channel. This paper is AMAZING with the foil lines in each of the those plaid patterns. It’s so pretty and I love it! I think it will work great for Christmas but it also has that cozy flannel look to it. That will go perfect for all winter long or get well cards. My family is all about wearing plaid shirts so I think of masculine cards when I see this paper. It will be perfect for birthdays and more. When I can see multiple uses for a paper pack, I get even more excited because then I know it won’t go to waste and I have a longer time period to use it in…..not just for Christmas!

Be sure to stayed tuned as I will be playing with lots of these new products from the Holiday Mini Catalog!!! After all….it’s that time of year!

Pale Pink Birdies!!!

Posted on

You all know I love the color pink. This card inspiration came from the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper and I was super excited to use pink for a birdie card. These pale pink birdies are perfect for a card for any occasion. What occasion would you use this look for?? Let me know in the comments below!

Pale Pink Birdies, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Isn’t this card just precious with the soft colors, beautiful flowers, and little birdies???

I started with a Petal Pink card base measuring 4-1/4″ x 11″. This size works well when tying ribbon around the card because then you use less ribbon. 🙂 Next, I layered a piece of the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper onto Soft Suede cardstock! Before adding it to the lower half of the card front, I stamped a few leaves from the Free As A Bird Stamp Set in Petal Pink Ink. This adds a little decoration to the top solid portion but without being too bold.

Stitched Labels Dies, www.LaurasStampPad.com

After laying on the designer paper, I tied some Very Vanilla Scallop Lace Trim around the card front and into a knot. Then for the focal point, I die cut out a label from the Nested Stitched Label Dies. These are the Bundle & Save 10% dies that go with the Free As A Bird Stamp Set. Using that stamp set, I stamped the greeting and the birdies in Basic Gray. Next, I colored in the branch and birdies with Stampin’ Blends Markers!

Coloring birds with Stampin' Blends, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I added the pale pink birdies to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals for a little bit of texture and so the image was smooth over the ribbon! To finish it off, I added a few Rhinestones for some bling!

Pink Petal Flowers, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the inside, I added a piece of Whisper White (4″ x 5-1/4″) and stamped the leaf image and then the little flower. Using Stampin’ Blends, I colored them in for the perfect coordination!

Lifting Others!!!

We rise by lifting others!!! I just love this greeting. It is not only good for cards but would make a wonderful home decor piece! So inspiring and uplifting which is just what this world needs more of!!!

We rise by lifting others, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Blue and yellow are so fresh and fun and make this card brighter and fabulous! How would you feel if you got this card on a random Tuesday??? Let me know in the comments below!

I started with a Seaside Spray card base. Next, I cut 2 pieces of Whisper White measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″; one for the front and one for the inside! I added a strip of Pineapple Punch Designer Series Paper on the bottom for a little pattern and pop of color! Then I stamped the balloons and birds in Basic Gray and the clouds in Seaside Spray. These images are all from the Above the Clouds Stamp Set. Using the Pineapple Punch and Seaside Spray Stampin’ Blends Markers, I colored in the hot air balloons!

For the focal point, I stamped the hot air balloon and basket on a scrap piece of Whisper White. I like to stamp in Basic Gray because it is a softer look that using Black. Coloring these balloons is so much fun because there are so many different looks for each balloon! There is a coordinating Hot Air Balloon Punch (Bundle & Save 10%) which punches out the basket and the balloon. I added these to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals for some texture. The greeting – We Rise By Lifting Others – was stamped in a piece of Pineapple Punch and the banner tips were punched out with the Banner Triple Punch!

Blue Skies, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I stamped some clouds and birds on the inside white piece to really pull everything together for this card! I just love the beautiful sky look!!!

If you would like to create this card, check out the supplies below. Also, check out this card and this card for other ideas using the Above the Clouds Stamp Set and Punch!

Cute As A Bug!!!

Posted on

Last week, I showed off a fun bug card with scallop frames and today I’m going with a quick and simple card. This one is still cute as a bug but takes less time and can be created in any color you wish!

Cute As A Bug, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I used Grapefruit Grove and Calypso Coral for this bug card! It could be done in blues, greens, or even purple too!

I started out with a Grapefruit Grove card base. Next, I took a piece of Whisper White measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. Using the Wiggle Worm Stamp Set, I stamped 2 of the bugs all over in Calypso Coral Ink. I angled them differently and made sure to fall off the edge for a complete look. Then I added this to the card front!

Banner Triple Punch, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Now for the cute as a bug focal point of the card! Using the Banner Triple Punch, I punched all 3 of the banners for layering this greeting. The biggest layer was done with a piece of the Follow Your Art Designer Series Paper, then Grapefruit Grove and then Whisper White. The greeting comes from the Wiggle Worm Stamp Set too! I layered all of these one with Snail Adhesive. Then I stamped one of the bugs on a piece of Whisper White and colored it in with a Stampin’ Blends Marker! Using the coordinating Wiggly Bugs Dies, I die cut out the bug and added it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. To finish it off, I added some enamel shapes from the Happiness Blooms Pack.

Coral Bugs, www.LaurasStampPad.com

On the inside of the card, I added some Whisper White (4″ x 5-1/4″) and stamped the greeting and another bug! I love coordinating the inside with the front of the card!

Happy Friday everyone!!! The first week of August and back from vacation….wowza!!! I’m still alive! 🙂 So many exciting things this month as it is my Birthday Month! Let’s start with Friday Favorites!!! Here are mine!

Friday Favorites, www.LaurasStampPad.com

We had a wonderful time on vacation. Relaxing, spending time with family, swimming, and eating fabulous food. Another bonus was I only jumped on my laptop 2 times that week and mostly used my phone for photos! It was amazing!

We came home and now have a squirrel friend who has somehow gotten up on our balcony to eat the bird seed. He’s so cute and I love watching him so I haven’t gotten rid of him yet. If he can sit there and eat with Claire playing and yelling in the kitchen, he’s a keeper! 🙂

My Stampin’ Up Holiday Mini Catalog Pre-Order has arrived and it’s sooooo fabulous! Check out the Video here! Eeeeee I’m so excited to start playing!

The final Friday Favorites is this gorgeous notebook that I got this week. As I have shared before, I’m a list maker and I like to stay organized. I got this fabulous notebook to keep me organized and like I kinda have it together. 😉 Also, doesn’t that pattern look very similar to the Perennial Essence Suite?!?!?! Stampin’ Up is so on trend with colors and patterns that are hot on the market! I love it!!!

What are your favorites this week?? I would love to hear them in the comments below!

For the Love of Felt!!!

Posted on

Stampin’ Up does some amazing Project Kits! These are perfect for gift giving because some some all inclusive meaning all you need is scissors. Some are more detailed and some require the purchase of additional supplies like stamps and ink. The awesome thing about the ones that don’t come with stamps and ink is that you can purchase multiples to make for gifts and not end up with 5 stamp sets. All inclusive are good to give the entire thing and the others are perfect for making and gifting or enjoying yourself! The For the Love of Felt Kit is fun to make and give!

For the Love of Felt, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This kit is super cute with 3 designs of cards, 4 each. The envelopes have a pretty green pattern on the back lip and the front has a cute box to write the address or name in! All of this fits into a little card box that coordinates. It scream gift box! Actually I think the box looks like a cute recipe box but either way I love it!

Felt Flowers, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This was the hardest card of the set I think! There are lots of details and layers and flowers! I would almost suggest doing this one last because it also has a ton of pieces. I did it first and was counting out all the pieces to make sure I wasn’t using them all up. If it was the last set, you wouldn’t have to worry about that. First, I stamped the leaves on all 4 corners. Then I built up the outside and worked my way to the big flower in the middle. This means I did the little blue and yellow ones at the top and the coral and blue off to the left and then slowly worked my way to the main focal point. For the leaves, I used Mini Glue Dots to secure them.

Stampin' Up Project Kit, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card was the easiest one. I whipped these 4 together really fast. Stamp, stamp, glue, glue! For the felt flowers, I used Multipurpose Adhesive Glue.

Bouquet of Flowers, www.LaurasStampPad.com

These cards I did a little different for each one….a little on purpose! So, the first card I did (top left), I finished it and realized I forgot the thread. So I nailed it on the second card (top right) and wasn’t so sure I liked it. The thread went right over the coral flower. For the next card, I did the thread vertical (bottom left) and really liked that one. On the last card, I thought I might as well try another option just to see so I went with a little bow. Following the direction is fun but doing your own thing is even more fun!

Which card is your favorite?? Let me know in the comments below. Also, let me know if you like getting handmade greeting cards for a gift or giving handmade greeting card as a gift.

No Coloring Necessary!!!

Posted on

I have been playing with the Bird Ballad Suite a lot lately. Check out these samples here and here! Then I wanted to do a card that was easy with no coloring necessary. After all, I’m not always a big fan of coloring and sometimes time doesn’t allow it. Check this out!!!

No Coloring Necessary, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Super simple to make and oh so beautiful! Change up the colors to your favorite one….or the color you have on hand!!! What color would you use?? Let me know in the comments below!

First, I started with an Early Espresso card base. Next, I layered on a piece of Bermuda Bay measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. Then I cut out 2 pieces of Very Vanilla measuring 3-3/4″ x 5″. One is for the front and the other for the inside. Using the Free As A Bird Stamp Set, I stamped the birdies in Early Espresso Ink and the greeting in Bermuda Bay Ink. For the inside, I used the larger single bird and stamped him in the corner!

Free As A Bird, www.LaurasStampPad.com

That is all the stamping. Now to assemble and embellish!!! I added the Very Vanilla layers to the card. Then I tied some of the Very Vanilla Scalloped Lace Trim into a knot around the top of the card. To finish it off, I added some of the Noble Peacock Rhinestones for some bling and texture.

If you want to create this simple and fabulous card with no coloring necessary, check out the supplies listed below!!!
