Adding Cool Whip!!!

Posted on

Adding Cool Whip is always necessary when having hot chocolate right?? As a kid, we always ate the cool whip and then said we were done. I don’t think any of us really liked hot chocolate but we enjoyed the cool whip!

Adding Cool Whip, www.LaurasStampPad.com

How sweet is this card?? I just love the cute factor and that fun texture!!! So let’s get started on how I created this card!

I started with a Shaded Spruce card base. Then I took a piece of Cherry Cobbler measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. Next, I die cut the white mugs with the Cup of Cheers Dies and placed them on the card. Scoot the mugs down a bit and using a pencil, draw a line across the top of the mugs from side to side. This will be your guide for adding the Puff Paint and making sure it isn’t too wide or too high on the card. Now let’s add puff paint and set it with the Heat Tool!

Puff Paint, www.LaurasStampPad.com

TIPS FOR USING PUFF PAINT: It is very liquidy so be careful not to use too much or have it spill all over. After applying a thin layer, start heating it from the bottom of the cardstock to set it. Once you see a little shine around the edges, move to the top side to heat it. Be sure to hold it there for a decent amount of time because first it will look dry and then it will start to puff. Add more puff paint to fill in holes or increase your area. You can always add more but can’t always take it back. Also, remember that no 2 puff paints are going to look the same. It’s kind of like watercoloring!

After the Puff Paint is done, you can assemble the card. Don’t assemble first because the heat tool can melt your ribbon. I stamped the mugs with the Cup of Christmas greenery piece in Shaded Spruce Ink and then added them below the Puff Paint with Stampin’ Dimensionals! Then I added a piece (2″ x 4″) of the Perfectly Plaid Designer Paper at the top. Taking the Shaded Spruce & Gold Ribbon, I added a strip across the card where the designer paper and cardstock meet. Securing the ends on the back side with Stampin Dimensionals and then added this piece to the card front.

For the greeting, I stamped it from the Cup of Christmas Stamp Set and punched it out with the Pretty Label Punch. Then I added it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and finished it off with Holiday Rhinestones on either side!

Cup of Christmas Card Insert, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the inside of the card, I added a piece of Whisper White measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. Using that same greenery stamp, I stamped each corner in Shaded Spruce Ink.

Boo To You!!!

Posted on

Halloween is right around the corner so now is the time to start working on your Halloween Projects. That might be treat bags, cards, tags, or home decor. Today, I’m sharing with you a cute Boo To You card with little monsters!!! Thank you to Tamra Davis for the inspiration for this card!

Boo To You, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Just a little scary….and hairy…but also super cute!!! There are 3 monsters in the Boo To You Stamp Set so you can really have lots of fun with this card!

I started with a Terracotta Tile card base. Using the Boo To You greeting and the Terracotta Tile Marker, I inked up just the word “Boo” and stamped it all over the background. You could also stamp the entire image if you wish. Next, I die cut out a square Stitched Shape in Smoky Slate. Then I stamped the monster in Basic Gray and colored him with Stampin’ Blends Markers. I used Highland Heather and Pumpkin Pie but you can do any color!

Creepy Monster, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Per my husband since I’m not a monster aficionado, I left the finger tips white and then added some Glitter Crystal Effects. Also, I added some to the eyeballs and teeth! Once complete, I layered this piece onto Black Foil Paper measuring 3″ x 4″. Next, I took a piece of Terracotta Tile Scallop Trim Ribbon and colored down the center with a Black Stampin’ Blends. This changes the ribbon completely for a fun spooky look. I love it. TIP: The color does bleed on the ribbon so be gentle and swipe close to the scallop trim and allow it to bleed to fill in. I added this to the bottom of the foil paper securing the ends of the ribbon on the back side with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then I added it to the card front.

For the greeting, I stamped it from the Boo To You Stamp Set and punched it out with the 1″ Circle Punch. Next, I layered it onto a Scallop Circle of Smoky Slate and added it to the card front.

Monster Card Insert, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the inside of the card, I stamped another cute monster and stamped the other greeting in the set. Aren’t they just precious?!?!?! If you would like to make a Boo To You card for the little monsters in your life, click the supplies listed below. Also, check out this fun sample too!

Feels Like Frost!!!

I can’t believe I didn’t show off this paper sooner because it is BEAUTIFUL!!! The Feels Like Frost Specialty Designer Paper is amazing. It is a 6″ x 6″ pack and one side has silver foil prints. This makes it SUPER hard to decide which side to use. Check it out!

Feels Like Frost, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Just look at this amazing paper….I’m in love! It can be used for so many different looks and that’s what makes it super versatile. One side of each sheet is a white and silver foil print. This can be used as is or you can add color by sponging, coloring, or brayering over the top. That means you can create any color of paper. These prints can also be used all year long.

The other side of the paper has very detailed, beautiful photographic images of winter/snow/frosted nature. The shades of blues and purples are just fabulous! They are so realistic and stunning that you don’t even want to cut up these sheets. Using them for a winter scrapbook page would be perfect!!!

Be sure to check out other Holiday Mini Catalog Designer Series Paper reveals here, here, and here!

In August, Stampin’ Up released a Paper Pumpkin Add-On Kit which is 24 notecards and envelopes. It’s only $10 and that is a STEAL!!! They are so beautiful!!!

Paper Pumpkin Add-On, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Here is one design of the notecards. It is this beautiful Crumb Cake base with Pretty Peacock in the center. That amazing fall wreath has the perfect colors to match anything! I used the August Paper Pumpkin Stamp Set for the greeting and punched it out with the Classic Label Punch. It’s perfect. Another option is using a greeting from the Itty Bitty Greetings Stamp Set. The twine is from the Come to Gather Ribbon Pack and the color is perfect! Quick and simple for sure!

Thanksgiving Day Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

The other notecard in the pack is this beautiful watercolor one. Again it is Crumb Cake base with a layer of Whisper White and watercolors on top. Using Merry Merlot and the August Paper Pumpkin Stamp Set, I stamped the images. The flower image over the watercolors and the greeting onto scrap Crumb Cake. Using the Everyday Label Punch, I punched out the greeting and added it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. This look would be perfect with any greeting!

Technique Tuesday: Adding A Scallop Ribbon Border!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! You all know what that means!!! I have a fabulous technique to share with you today and it’s super simple! Check out this adorable scallop ribbon border on this card. The cool thing about this is that you can get 2 cards for every 5 inches of ribbon. I cut the ribbon in half!!!

Scallop Ribbon Border, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card is super simple and perfect for making multiples!! The pack of Brightly Gleaming Designer Paper has so many great prints that would all work in this same color scheme.

I started with a card base of Pretty Peacock measuring 4-1/4″ x 11″. Next, I cut 2 pieces of Very Vanilla measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″ (for the front and inside). Then, I cut the Brightly Gleaming Designer Paper into 4″ x 4″ squares. That means you can get 9 cards from 1 sheet of designer paper with no waste. YEAH!! I added Tear And Tape along the bottom of the designer paper and since it’s a perfect square it doesn’t matter where the bottom is. Then taking the Pretty Peacock Scallop Trim Ribbon, I cut it in half so I could get 2 cards for every piece. Press the half piece of ribbon into the Tear And Tape on the edge and trim off the extra on the ends.

Brightly Gleaming Designer Paper, www.LaurasStampPad.com

After adding adhesive all around the other sides of the designer paper, it is then added to the Very Vanilla piece. Next, I stamped the greeting from the So Many Stars Stamp Set in Celestial Copper Ink on the bottom. I am loving this shiny copper ink. With the coordinating Star Framelits, I die cut a star in Copper Foil Paper. You could also use the Brightly Gleaming Foil Elements! The Fine Tip Glue Pen is amazing for adhering delicate items like this.

Little Miracle!!!

Posted on

Last week, I posted this sweet card for our neighbor. Oddly enough we just found out she is having a girl and I went with Rococo Rose for her card. 🙂 I have another little miracle baby card to share with you today! I’m just loving this set and the sweet images!

Little Miracle, www.LaurasStampPad.com

While this card does have coloring, it is still a very quick card to create! Changing the colors a bit based on the gender or the recipient’s favorite color would be sure easy to do!

I started with a Whisper White card base. Next, I took a piece of Balmy Blue and stamped the dots from the Wonderful Moments Stamp Set all around the edge. I stamped the dots in Balmy Blue for that subtle background look.

Then taking a piece of Whisper White, I stamped the pregnant girl in Basic Gray. I like using gray when I color because it’s a more subtle look rather than a bold outline. Using Stampin’ Blends, I colored her in. Balmy Blue was used for her dress. Ivory for her skin tone and Bronze for her hair. The greeting was also stamped in Basic Gray. I layered this piece onto Soft Sea foam and added it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I finished off the card with some Basic Sequins!

If you would like to make this card, check out the supplies below. Also, let me know some fabulous color combinations that would be perfect for this card!

Surprise #2!!!

Posted on

So a few weeks ago, I said I had some exciting things! One of those was earning Maui! Surprise #2 is………

Surprise #2, www.LaurasStampPad.com

We are buying a house and moving!!!!! This is super exciting for us…..and very nerve-wracking! We had been looking for awhile and not finding anything even close to a possibility. A little 1 year old has quickly taken over our current house and I just didn’t think we could make it through Christmas. If we did, she was getting money for her piggy bank because we are out of room. 🙂

Then, a random Monday 3 weeks ago, I took Claire to the Splash Pad one afternoon and then stopped by Brad’s work for a quick visit on the way home. Brad mentioned a new house hitting the market that sounded amazing but there were no pictures. We went to see it that evening and put an offer on it the next morning. Wednesday afternoon the offer was accepted. And since then everything has gone that fast with appointments, paperwork, and chaos. I never know what day it even is anymore.

In 2 weeks, we will be closing and moving. Don’t worry if you are one of my local stampers……we are just moving to Edwardsville!!! The other exciting thing is that I will have the entire basement for my stamp room! Woot Woot! More details coming soon.

I would also like to throw it out there that my October classes at Laura’s Stamp Pad might be all over the place/not happening. There is also a chance that I won’t get a blog post up every day of the week, Monday – Friday! Please bare with me. Also, let me know what you would like to see in this fun and crazy process and I’ll share! You all know I’m super open about things and love to share!

Off to go pack some more and make sure Claire didn’t toss in her current snack. 🙂 Have a wonderful weekend!!!

Pregnant???

Posted on

No, not me! My neighbor recently told us she was pregnant and of course we are super excited for them! I instantly had to make a fabulous card for them to congratulate them!

Pregnant, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Isn’t this the cutest card ever?!?! I just love the simplicity of the women standing there with her belly bump! It’s perfect!

I started with a Rococo Rose card base. Next, I took a piece of Whisper White (3-3/4″ x 5″) and stamped the pregnant lady in the lower right corner. I used Basic Gray Ink because I like that more subtle look when I’m coloring. The image is from the Wonderful Moments Stamp Set. Using the Rococo Rose Stampin’ Blends, I colored the lady’s dress. For her skin, I used Ivory Stampin’ Blends and Bronze for her hair!

Wonderful Moments Stampin' Up Stamp Set, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Once I was done coloring, I layered this piece onto a piece of Blushing Bride (4″ x 5-1/4″). Before adding it to the card front, I placed a piece of the Rococo Rose Scalloped Linen Ribbon on the left. I just wrapped the ends to the back side and secured it before adding it to the card base.

For the greeting, I stamped it in Rococo Rose Ink onto scrap Whisper White. Then using the Timeless Label Punch and the Everyday Label Punch to punch out the greeting and layer it together. I added the greeting to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals! To finish off the card, I added a few Faceted Gems!

Card Insert, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the inside, I used one of the images in the stamp set to decorate! Simple yet fabulous, don’t you think?!?!? If you want to great this fabulous card for someone you know who is pregnant, check out the supplies listed below!
