Simple & Stunning!!!

Emboss Cut Out, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card is perfect for any occasion. You could make multiples of this one in no time at all and add a greeting as you need them! It also uses up scraps which I love!!! I started with a Soft Sky card base. Then I took a piece of Very Vanilla measuring 4″ x 5-1/2″ and placed the 2nd to smallest Deco Labels Framelit in the center and ran it through the Big Shot. You can use this cut out piece for another project and take the frame and place it into the Elegant Dots Embossing Folder and run it through the Big Shot again! Now this is your frame for your card!!! I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere it to my card front BUT FIRST I laid it on the card front to stamp my greeting and then added the dimensionals and adhered it on. I did it in this order so that 1. I could line up my greeting in the center but not have it raised up hitting my greeting and 2. If I messed up the stamping, I could get another card base and try again without having do re-create the frame again as well. I used the greeting from the Thoughts & Prayers Stamp Set with Chocolate Chip ink. To finish off the card, I punched out Calypso Coral, Wisteria Wonder, and Daffodil Delight with the Petite Petals Punch and flower from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch! I added little Candy Dots to the center of the flowers coordinating with each color!! I really like how the Candy Dots add that little pop! Love it!!!

Dinosaurs Aren’t Extinct!!!!

Dinosaur Kids Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card scream little boy!!! It would be a perfect kid’s birthday card!!! I have been having fun with the No Bones About It Stamp Set because there are so many combinations!!! Here is another fun one!!

I started this one with a Whisper White Card base and added a piece of Basic Black measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. Then I took little pieces of Whisper White measuring 1-1/4″ x 1-3/4″ and stamped a dinosaur and his coordinating bones onto it. I used Lost Lagoon, Hello Honey, and Cucumber Crush. I layered this piece onto the coordinating cardstock (1-1/2″ x 2″ ) and added the little star! I punched the star out with the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack! I love how the star adds a little pop and it fills in that white at the top! Then I added 2 Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back down the center! Set these aside and we are going to work on the banners. The banners are 3/4″ x 3-3/4″. Add the little banner tips to one end and stamp the feet from the dinosaur in the coordinating color! At my stamp class, my stampers made sure to put the feet in the same direction as the dinosaur….that never really occurred to me! 🙂 The things we all catch!!! Now for spacing, I added the dinosaur rectangles to the banner strips by putting them all close together to make sure the spacing was correct along the banner strips. Now for the spacing on the card, place them all down how you would like them and then pick up each one individually for adhesive! I found this to be the best way. When I tried adhering the banner strips first, I ended up with horrible spacing. I hope this helps with your card!!!

I know that the multiple stamping and cleaning to switch colors might make this card a little bit more time consuming but it is a fun card. It uses up lots of scraps of various colors of cardstock AND making multiples at one time would work really well! What colors would you use for the dinosaurs?? Let me know in the comments below!

Technique Tuesday – Tin of Cards!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! That means I have a technique to share with you…..the “technique” this week is quick and simple and a wonderful gift item for anyone!!!! The NEW Stampin’ Up! Catalog has so many wonderful kits in it and I love each one of them. So far though, my favorite is the Tin of Cards Project Kit!!! I think the Mint Macaron and White striped tin is just adorable!! The kit makes 16 cards with envelopes and dividers for the tin to keep the tin organized! This is the perfect gift item for anyone! We all need cards to use throughout the year so this is perfect for any occasion (I started listing them but it went on and on)!!!

Tin of Cards, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Look at all of this! It is stunning and would make a wonderful gift!!!! Now lets get into the specifics!!!

Mint Tin for Cards or Recipes, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Are you swooning over this adorable tin like me??? I love it!!! The kit comes with 9 tabbed cards for you to create. There are lots of the Mint Macaron Designer Papers for you to pick from (and 1 extra) to adhere to the front. Then the Tin of Cards Stamp Set has these adorable 3 sided rectangle image that fits perfectly on each tab and then of course all of the card types – Birthday, Thanks, Sympathy, Wedding, Just Because, Baby, Hello, Congrats, Misc. You could always use this for a recipe card box and add other tags to those tabs!

Triangle Cards, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Here is the first set of cards! There are 4 each of 4 designs and coordinating envelopes. This set has these amazing die-cut card bases with that heart across the front. You just adhere the designer series paper in, stamp your greeting on the banner, and add some epoxy hearts! It’s that simple! You can always mix it up and turn your paper over like I did in one of them (that wasn’t a mistake). You can place your greeting and hearts any where you wish and you can use any greeting you need!!!

Gold Strip, Epoxy Hearts, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I love these the most I think!!! That gold foil POPS so much….even my photos were all shiny! I love it! I stamped the Happy on the gold foil and on the white card. The kit came with the white circles already with greetings on there (in lots of different languages) or you could always stamp a greeting from the Tin of Cards Stamp Set in the middle! I love the look of the Baker’s Twine behind a greeting but I think I need to practice some more…..mine all came out looking a little weird I thought. To finish these cards off, there are clear epoxy stars randomly placed on the card!!!

Wooden Accent Thought Bubble, www.LaurasStampPad.com

These cards were super quick and simple. The base was already printed with the Bermuda Bay strip. Adhere the Crushed Curry Designer Paper and stamp the border from the Tin of Cards Stamp Set along the top. It was easy to stamp the border because it is a Photopolymer stamp set and you can overlap the center since it is covered by the greeting. I was really impressed with the stamped image on the wooden accents. It came out really clear and bold. I was thinking it would look all grainy and light. Woot Woot for that! Then finish it off with the die cut gold glimmer hearts. I wanted the one to be more manly so I just put 2 hearts on another one!!!

Layered Butterfly Window Sheet, www.LaurasStampPad.com

These cards are amazing but they took a little bit longer. All of the butterflies came die cut out already. The vanilla solid butterfly is stamped with a greeting to match the main greeting. Then I used Mini Glue Dots in the center of the butterfly to adhere the yellow one onto the vanilla one. I used them for the coral medium butterfly as well. For the little butterfly I used the curly border stamp to create a center. I also stamped that border on the top and bottom of the card base. The original card base comes with that rectangle popped out and you adhere the polka dot window sheet over that cut out. Behind the big butterfly is some gold thread that is wrapped in loops and peaking out. You really can’t see it in these photos. Now add your butterflies and greeting and you are all set.

Tin of Cards leftover, www.LaurasStamPPad.com

Also, look at all of these leftover pieces – 8 white circles, tons of gold foil strips, gold thread, 4 banners, white hearts, and a mint maracon piece of designer paper!!!

To see all of these up close and in action, be sure to check out my Video Tutorial here!!! You can also check out the unboxing and reveal of this kit here! Be sure to give the video a thumbs up if you liked it and let me know if there is something you would like to see in action and I’ll do my best to make it happen!

Quick & Simple Cards!!!

Posted on

We all love the detailed, time consuming, layers, and embellishments on a beautiful card but sometimes the simple ones are just as amazing!!! We can also create lots of simple ones real fast to have on hand or as we are walking out the door for that Birthday Party!!! The other bonus is most of these items for these 2 cards are laying around your craft room or space or drawer!

Wish Big Triangle DSP Scraps, www.LaurasStampPad.com

How cute is this? It could be a Birthday or Graduation card!!! Super simple with a Whisper White card base and some scraps of Designer Series Paper. These pieces are from the Brights Backgrounds Designer Series Paper Stack and I just cut them into triangles. There is no exact dimensions or anything. I just slide the piece into the Stampin’ Trimmer diagonal and cut, tilted it the other way and cut again. The pieces look like a mess but then I added them to the card and it looks fabulous! For the greeting, I used the A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Set for the Wish Big and the dots came from a NEW stamp set called Friendly Wishes! This stamp set is coming out in the 2015-2016 Catalog on June 2nd!!!

Designer Paper Scraps Rays, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Here is another simple one that was made with triangle scraps. Start with a Whisper White card base, layered Basic Black (4″ x 5-1/4″) and then decorate your Whisper White piece (3-3/4″ x 5″). I took my Snail Adhesive and did 3 lines on the Whisper White – 1 at the top, one about 1/3 of the way down and one in between those!!! Now you don’t need to add adhesive to all of those little pieces of Back to Black Designer Series Paper! I placed the first triangle down a smidge off from the center. I didn’t want a strict center piece so I leaned it a little to the right as my starting point. After that I just filled in on both sides. I layered a piece of Basic Black cardstock (3-3/4″ x 1/2″) over all of the ends at the bottom! I added my greeting from the A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Set and a few Rhinestones and I was all set! Perfect Wedding, Anniversary or Engagement card! Look what you can do with a greeting stamp set and some scraps! Quick and Simple!!!

I got the idea for these cards from a fellow stamper – Mary McCormick, at Spring Into Stamping! Another great card that uses up scraps is this one here but it does take a few more minutes than those above! Love it!!!!

Technique Tuesday – Lots of Back to Black!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! I have a fabulous technique to share with you today and I’m sure you are just as excited as I am because I know you all LOVE the One Sheet Wonder Technique!!!! I just can’t get enough of this technique because it is so much fun and it is so very simple…..once you figure out the template. 🙂 hehe No worries, I have this fabulous template created for you AND a video!!!

Back to Black One Sheet Wonder, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Look at all of these cards!!!!! I was able to get 15 cards out of one sheet of the 12″ x 12″ Back to Black Designer Series Paper!!!! Love it! I also love that you can pick a color or 2, a greeting stamp set and you are all set to create! Let’s get started!!!

Supplies Needed:  Age Awareness Stamp Set, Remembering Your Birthday Stamp Set, A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Set, 2013-2015 In Color Markers and cardstock (minus Baked Brown Sugar), 1 sheet of Back to Black Designer Series Paper, and a Paper Trimmer

Of course you can pick any of your favorite greeting stamp sets or one specific greeting that you need to make lots of cards with! The colors that I used are the 2013-2015 In-Colors which are Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, Coastal Cabana, and Strawberry Slush! I used the markers to color in the Back to Black Designer Series Paper on some of them!!! I love that!

Okay lets get started on the cutting on your Designer Paper first! Starting with a sheet of 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper, you will cut at 5-1/2″. This creates a 5-1/2″ x 12″ strip which you will then cut at the following numbers: 4-1/4″, 2-1/4″, 2″, 1-3/4″, 1-1/2″ and you will be left with a little piece that is 5-1/2″ x 1/4″. If you wanted to you could add that 1/4″ onto one of the other pieces (except the 4-1/4″ because then it wouldn’t work). Now set all of those pieces aside and pull in your leftover piece which measures 12″ x 6-1/2″. You will cut at 4-1/2″ all the way across giving you a piece measuring 12″ x 4-1/2″ and then you will cut at the following measurements: 3-1/2″, 1-1/2″, 1-1/2″, 2″, 2″, and 1-1/2 will be left. Now you can cut one of the 1-1/2″ x 4-1/2″ pieces down to just 4-1/4″ and the other one down to 4″. One of the 2″ x 4″ pieces will need to be cut in half to make Two 2″ squares. That last piece that is 4-1/2″ x 1-1/2″ needs to be cut into Three 1-1/2″ squares. All of those little pieces you cut off can be tossed or used on another project OR you can leave some of them and work with a larger piece. Now that top piece that you have left over which measures 2″ x 12″ can be used for more cards like in the set above, I cut it into Two 2″ x 4-1/4″ and the last piece is 2″ x 3-1/2″. That is how I got 15 cards. You could also use that piece as a belly band around a box or cellophane bag that you stick all of the cards in as a gift. You can do whatever you would like with that piece!!!

12 x 12 One Sheet Wonder Template

Now some close ups on the cards…..sorry for the long post today. I hope you are still with me! 🙂

Masculine One Sheet Wonder Cards, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I love the Man Cards that I created with this set, I think I could do an entire sheet of Man Cards with this technique just to get me though a few months of Birthdays!

One Sheet Wonder, www.LaurasStampPad.com

As you can see some of the…chevron? checker?…whatever that pattern is called….I colored in with my Markers and some of them I left white!

Back to Black One Sheet Wonder, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Oh how you know I love my flowers! I colored these in with the Markers! Also, that little Coastal Cabana strip on the left side card is only about 3/4″ wide. It is a scrap piece that I had leftover from another project. Use up those scraps on simple cards like these!!!

One Sheet Wonder Card Set, www.LaurasStampPad.com

As you can see, I didn’t color the flowers on these and they look fabulous as well!

Diagonal One Sheet Wonder, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This is the piece that was cut diagonal. You can tear it as well if you would like!

Flower One Sheet Wonder, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Same style of card but one is colored and one just has a border! Love them both!

One Sheet Wonder, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I actually didn’t use that 3rd 1-1/2″ square because I added my greeting on there. You can always mix it up and cut larger pieces into little squares like this or leave it long. Mix it up and have fun with it! I love it!!!!

Here is a little Video Tutorial for you to follow along with as well! Don’t forget to subscribe to my YouTube Channel so you don’t miss out on any of the videos! Click here to subscribe!

I have 2 more sets of these fabulous One Sheet Wonder Techniques so stay tuned. If you want to see some of them that I have done in the past, click here!

Princess Peach!!!!

Posted on

It was my husband and I’s Wedding Anniversary at the end of April and if you have followed my blog for long you know I like to make really fun and personal cards for him! You can check out my Mario Card hereMinion Card here, and Kirby here! If you haven’t guessed it, my husband likes video games!!! So for our Anniversary I made him this card!!!!

Princess Peach in a castle, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I really love how it turned out and my husband thought it was really good. He mostly commented on the bricks which I thought was hilarious. He also said that she is cross-eyed and he kept trying to fix it 🙂 I started by making her head which uses Circle Punches, the Owl Builder Punch, the Bird Builder Punch (hair), Hearts A Flutter Framelits, and Oval Punch. I drew her eyelashes on with my Basic Black Marker! For the crown, I used Gold Glimmer Paper and punched 3 petals with the Flower Medallion Punch! Then using some Red Glimmer Paper and the Petite Petals Punch I added that red gem! Here she is close up!

Princess Peach Punch Art, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I realized that I couldn’t just put her face on a card so I needed some background and that is when I thought I would create her Castle and make it look like she is hanging out the window waving at Mario or screaming for him to rescue her! I needed a little bit of her body so I punched some more circles! For her collar, I punched the Scallop Oval Punch and cut a piece off! For the gem on her chest I cut out one of the gold circles from the Gold Designer Vellum and trimmed it up! Then I started on the bricks which were created with scraps of Smokey Slate and Basic Gray. I rounded the edges with my Project Life Corner Rounder. I brushed the edges using my Sponge Dauber in Basic Gray and pounced all over with some Encore Silver Ink and a Sponge Dauber! That gave the bricks a bit of a shiny brick look! The placement was a bit tricky but I made it work!!! The best part is it was made for my husband and with love!!! After all our cake topper on our wedding was Princess Peach and Mario!!

Mario & Peach

I do have to admit that Princess Peach was not my original idea for a card……I planned on doing Grumpy Cat.

Grumpy Cat Punch Art, www.LaurasStampPad.com

She just looks like she was in a fight and is made I put a bow on her head.

Do you love Punch Art? What is your favorite? Any suggestions on the next one I should do? Leave me a comment down below!

Technique Tuesday – All Abloom Card Set!!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! That means I have a fabulous technique to share with you today. While it might not require a lot of tools or create a specific effect on your project, it will create a WOW!!!!! I love One Sheet Wonder Card Sets because you can get LOTS of cards from just one sheet of 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. Well today I’m going to show you how you can get about 40 cards with one pack of the All Abloom Designer Series Paper Stack. How amazing is that? Now I know 40 cards sounds like a daunting task but not when you are making multiples of the same style and when you are only sticking with a few colors.

All Abloom Card Set, www.LaurasStampPad.com

You have seen me post about these cards over the past week. You can check out those individual posts here:

You’re In My Thoughts, Hello, Just Because, Thanks So Much, Happy Birthday, With Sympathy

All of these cards use less than one sheet from the All Abloom Designer Series Paper Stack so that means I was able to create 4 each of these 6 cards (4 sheets of each pattern in the stack)! That makes 24 cards!!!!! Of course, all the left over scraps could be used for another card, right?

Quilt Look with Scraps, www.LaurasStampPad.com

How cute are these??? All of the strips are 1/2″ wide. I started with one strip towards the middle and stuck it down. Then I just worked my way out. There is no true technique to this, just play around and stick some strips of paper down! You could do this with any scrap pieces of Designer Series Paper you have laying around! 🙂 I know you have some! Some of the cards, I stuck to a few colors and others I used all of them! After you lay a few strips down, trim the edge and you can use that piece in another spot.

Quilt How To, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I was able to create 6 cards in this style so now we are up to 30 cards from the All Abloom Designer Series Paper Stack. There is still three patterns (4 sheets each) left in the stack as well as scraps. That is where you get the last 10+ cards. You could use these to re-create some of the styles above or create something totally new. Again, after you are done using the big pieces, use the scraps for more quilt cards! Want to see this all these cards in action? Check out my Video Tutorial here! Don’t forget to Subscribe to my Channel so you don’t miss out on any future videos. HINT: More One Sheet Wonders are on the way!

One of the reasons I love this style of card making is that I knew the colors I would be working with because they are listed on the front of the All Abloom Designer Series Paper Stack so there was no guessing or wondering. I pulled out those ink pads and cardstock as well as a few of my favorite greeting stamp sets and went to work! Also, I love that I was able to create cards for all occasions – Man Cards, Girl Cards, Birthday, Sympathy, Wedding, and Just Because! Love it!!!

Technique Tuesday – Negative Thinlits!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! That means I have a fabulous technique to share with you! This technique is beautiful and uses up your scraps! Woot Woot!!! Also, don’t forget that Mother’s Day is only 2 weeks away!

Mothers Day, Hello You Thinlit,Negative, www.LaurasStampPad

I am loving this card even though I am usually a silver girl but gold and pink are amazing together!!! Mother’s Day is right around the corner and this card is perfect because you can make a Happy Birthday Card and then use the negative of the Happy for your Mother’s Day Card! So let’s get started!!!

SUPPLIES NEEDED: Hello You Thinlits, Big Shot, Gold Glimmer Paper, Crazy About You Stamp Set, Petite Petals Punch, Itty Bitty Punch Pack, Pearls

You will start off with a card base of Blushing Bride measuring 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″!  Then taking a piece of Gold Glimmer Paper measuring 4-1/2″ x 2″, run that through the Big Shot with the Happy Thinlit from the Hello You Thinlits. NOTE: You can bundle and save 15% when you purchase the Hello You Thinlits and Crazy About You Stamp Set! Woot Woot. I have found that the best way to have these Thinlits pop out of the die super easy is to place an un-used dryer sheet onto your Standard Cutting Pad (clear pads), then place the Glimmer Paper, then the Thinlit, and then the top Standard Cutting Pad. By doing this, the dryer sheet pulls that Happy right out of there super easy! Thank you one of my stampers for that trick. I was always doing it with a used dryer sheet in between the Thinlit and Gold Glimmer Paper. That works too but it is so much better underneath! For this card, you will be using the negative of the Happy but be sure to save the Happy for another project. You can save all of those little centers of the letter to adhere in or you can toss them OR you can use some of them as candle flames!!!! See there is a way to use all of your scraps. You will layer the Gold Glimmer Paper onto a piece of Whisper White measuring 3-1/2″ x 5″. You can either do it straight or you can tilt it to one side. Below the Happy, I stamped Mother’s Day from the Crazy About You Stamp Set in Blushing Bride. Now you can adhere this to your card front. I tilted mine for a different look! I really like it!!!

Petite Petals Flower, www.LaurasStampPad.com

To finish it off, I punched a few flowers in Blushing Bride and Pink Pirouette with the Petite Petals Punch and the flower from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack. I brushed the edges with my Sponge Daubers. LOVE THEM! I added those to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals and put a Pearl in the center!

Here is a sneak peak at the coordinating card which uses the Happy wording….check back next week for that tutorial!

Sneak Peak

#HappyBirthday!!!

Posted on

Birthday Balloons, www.LaurasStampPad.com

You all know how I love Birthday cards and make lots of them because I send out so many each month (gotta love a big family)!!! This card is perfect because it is gender neutral. I started off with a Crushed Curry card base and added some Bermuda Bay measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. Then with a piece of Whisper White (3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″) and stamped the 3 Balloons from the Balloon Bash Stamp Set in the Occasions Mini Catalog! I used Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay, and Tangelo Twist for those balloons. For the Bermuda Bay balloon, I stamped it again on a piece of scrap white and cut it out and popped it onto my card with a Stampin’ Dimensional! I love that extra little POP! Next I added a little strip of Birthday Bash Designer Series Paper along the bottom! You will adhere this first and then ink up the #HappyBirthday in Night of Navy and stamped that below the Designer Series Paper. Then you will ink up the entire image again and stamp it on a piece of scrap white and cut it out (minus the #HappyBirthday). There was no way I could cut out that bottom portion and make it look clean so that is why I stamped that directly onto my card!!! I added the HB to my card front with some Stampin’ Dimensionals and then you are ready to add this to the front of your card! You are all done. You could do this in so many different colors and styles. Do you have a scrap piece of Designer Series Paper laying around??? Of course you do! Grab that piece and the coordinating colors for your balloons and greeting! Super fabulous!!!

If you would like to see more samples using the Balloon Bash Stamp Set and Birthday Bash Designer Series Paper, check out this post and this post! Don’t have this stamp set or paper yet? Order yours right now and you will earn Laura’s Loyal Stampers Points!!! Woot Woot!

Sophisticated Serifs Note Cards, www.LaurasStampPad.com

These little note cards are so fabulous and simple to create, you could whip up tons of them in no time flat! I’m sure your Accountant would enjoy a little set of these! Happy Tax Day!!!! They would also make a perfect Mother’s Day gift which is just a few weeks away!!! The would be a fabulous gift for a Bridal or Baby Shower Gift too!! I packaged the cards up in a Gusseted Cellophane Bag with some Whisper White Organza Ribbon!

The Note Cards above are just a piece of cardstock measuring 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ and I layered a piece of Whisper White measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″ on top. I used the Sophisticated Serifs Stamp Set for the flowers and letter! I love this stamp set because the font is simple yet elegant and it offers each letter in both a big and small font! LOVE IT!! The little flowers for the corners are super fabulous as well!!! I pulled out all of my scraps that I had that were big enough for this size and quickly made up lots of these little cards! I haven’t stamped the letter on there just yet because I’m waiting to see who I will give it to! Perfect little gift to have on hand!

Monogram Scallop Circle, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This little card is precious! I used the Note Card & Envelopes to create these. I took my Designer Series Paper Scraps and cut a piece 2″ x 5″. This card uses the Brights Background Designer Series Paper! For the Monogram, I used my Scallop Circle Punches and Circle Punch to layer the letter so perfectly! Super cute and another great way to use up some scraps.

Sheltering Tree Monogram Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This one is super fabulous because it uses the Sheltering Tree Stamp Set for the dotted background! I love using a random stamp set for a card like this – getting more out of a stamp set is fabulous!!!! You can see more samples using this stamp set here, here and here! You can see the 2 sizes of the alphabet font from the Sophisticated Serifs Stamp Set. LOVE IT!!! I also stamped a little corner of the envelope! Do you all like to coordinate your envelopes with your cards?? Let me know in the comments below!
