Technique Tuesday – Cafe Bag Creation!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!!! That means I have a fabulous technique to share with you today!!!! Since the Holiday are upon us that means that there will be lots of gift giving – teacher gifts, neighbor gifts, friends gift, family gifts and everyone in between! Why not make the gift packaging just as special as the person you are giving it to!

Stars Cafe Bag, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I am loving these Cafe Bags which are in the Holiday Mini Catalog because they are the perfect size and they come plastic lined which is great for putting homemade treats in them! Love it!!! Now lets tell you how to re-create it!

Supplies Needed: Cafe Bags, Decorative Mask, Sponge Daubers, Ink, Ribbon, and Tag

I left the Cafe Bag all folded up like it comes and laid my Stars Decorative Mask over top! Using my Whisper White Ink and Sponge Dauber, I colored in all of the stars! NOTE: When using Whisper White Ink (Craft), it takes a little bit longer to dry so set that aside while you create your tag! For my Tag, I used some scrap Mossy Meadow and Whisper White cardstock. For the banner tips, I cut up in the center of the end and then from the corner to that center cut line! This gives you even banner tips! I used the Endless Wishes Stamp Set for the snowflakes and greetings! They are stamped in Lost Lagoon Ink! I love how you can mix and match the greetings in that stamp set – just perfect! Once your bag is dry, you can fill it and then roll down the top and secure the tabs! Wrap some Lost Lagoon Satin Ribbon around it and tie a bow or knot! I attached the tag with a Mini Metallic Clothespin! Adorable! Quick and Simple for any of your gift giving this season! The bag below uses Blackberry Bliss Satin Stitched Ribbon and a tag from the Tag A Bag Accessory Kit! The greeting is from the Work of Art Stamp Set! Love it!

Beautiful Boxes!!!

Holiday Gift Boxes, www.LaurasStampPad.com

The season of gift giving is upon us – Teacher Appreciation, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah and the Winter Season (people love to bake when it’s cold outside)!!! I always find that fabulous gift packaging really makes a present that much more amazing and these boxes are just that! I used some of the Kraft Gift Boxes which measure 3-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ x 2-1/2″! This is the perfect size for a gift card, cookies, trail mix, candied pecans, a little mini loaf, jewelry, nail polish/manicure set, and sooooo many more fabulous gift items! I tied the Cherry Cobbler 1″ Sheer Ribbon around the box, creating the beautiful bow! For the tag, I stamped the Merry & Bright in Cherry Cobbler. The greeting is from the Christmas Bliss Stamp Set! I am loving that set so much! The greeting is on a 1-3/4″ Square of Whisper White Cardstock. Then I brushed the edges with my Mossy Meadow Ink and Sponge Daubers. This added a little pop of the green and makes the greeting stand out! You know how I love my Sponge Daubers too! 🙂 I layered that piece on to a piece of 2″ x 2-3/4″ Crumb Cake that was punched on one end with the Scallop Tag Topper Punch! I tied the tag onto the bow with some Baker’s Twine – either Cherry Cobbler or just Whisper White! Love it!!!

If you would like to see this gift box packaging in action, check out my Video Tutorial below! Be sure to give it a thumbs up if you like it! I will be posting more gift packaging videos over the next couple of weeks so be sure to subscribe to both my blog and my YouTube Channel!

Technique Tuesday – Coloring with Your Clear Blocks!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! You know what that means…..I have a fabulous technique to share with you today! You know that the Clear Blocks are used with our Clear Stamp Sets. Just stick the stamp (cling side) onto the clear block and tap tap tap into the ink and then onto your paper! BUT did you know that you can tap tap tap your clear block into the ink and then stamp it on the paper???

Thoughts & Prayers, Clear Block Stamping, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card is just amazing with beautiful branch image and the monochromatic color scheme! Are you wondering how I created that Pistachio Pudding square? With my Clear Block!!!!

Supplies Needed: Clear Block of you choice, Ink Pad

The supply list is short for this technique and it is really simple to do! Just tap your clear block into your ink pad color of choice. Tap Tap Tap! Then stamp the clear block onto your cardstock. Be sure to press firmly and all over the clear block to ensure better coverage. Disclaimer: This comes out different each time (kind of like watercoloring! Sometimes it comes out very bold, sometimes just an outline with a little ink in the middle, sometimes it is more solid and others it looks like there is a pattern to it. This one above came out very good! I then stamped the branch and greeting from the Thoughts & Prayers Stamp Set in Basic Black. I wrapped some Baker’s Twine around twice and tied a bow! To finish it off, I added a Pistachio Pudding butterfly that was punched with the Elegant Butterfly Punch and added a few Pearls!

Thoughts & Prayers, Clear Block Stamping, www.LaurasStampPad.com

You can see this one was created in Lost Lagoon and the block was a little more spotty and there is a line diagonal across the square. I am not sure how it got there but you just never know how this technique will turn out! I used some of the NEW Lost Lagoon Taffeta Ribbon on this card! I love that ribbon! To clean your clear block, you can just rub it on your Stampin’ Scrub or run it under water and use a paper towel to dry it off! Simple as that! Here is a quick Video Tutorial to show you this technique in action!

Let me know what you think of this technique in the comment below or give the video a thumbs up if you liked it!

Praying For You!!!

Thoughts & Prayers, www.LaurasStampPad.com

There is no better way to show someone you care than sending them a hand-stamped card! The Thoughts & Prayers Stamp Set has the most perfect greetings when you want to show you care but just don’t know what to say. There is also this elegant tree and a flower branch image in the set as well! This card is crumb cake with layered pieces of Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip and a piece of the Flower Pot Designer Series Paper. I love the neutral colors with a pop of blues – very soothing and calming!!! I stamped the tree and greeting in Chocolate chip and added some Lost Lagoon Taffeta Ribbon. The Thoughts & Prayers Stamp Set has excellent greetings for the inside as well. I plan to keep this card on hand for that moment when I need to let a friend know I’m there for them! This card would also make a great man card for Birthdays and more!

Halloween Treats!!!

Posted on

Halloween is right around the corner so it is time to start working on those treat bags for your child’s classroom, trick or treaters who come to your door, to pass out at your place of business or for the little monsters in your life (that would be my nieces and nephews 🙂 ) Here are a few simple yet adorable ones that I have created!

Halloween Treat Box, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I think the fact that it is so little just makes me so excited I could squeal!!! 🙂 This is one of the Tiny Treat Boxes from the Holiday Mini Catalog which is a 2″ square! Small enough that you don’t need to put a trunk load of treats inside but big enough for some goodies! Before assembling the box, I used my Decorative Mask (click here to see how to use this) and black ink pad to add the polka dots (using my sponge daubers of course). Be sure to set it aside to dry for a bit because I found it takes just a bit longer for the ink to soak into this material. I then used my Pumpkin Pie Chevron Ribbon to tie around it and into a knot. For the tag, I stamped the little bat from the Freaky Friends Stamp Set and the Trick or Treat from the Good Greetings Stamp Set (Hostess Exclusive)! I punched out the greeting with my Scallop Oval Punch and layered it onto a Large Oval Punch in Black cardstock. I attached it to my chevron ribbon with some Black Taffeta Ribbon! Super cute!!!

Treat Bags, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Then I have these little treat bags which are even easier to whip a few hundred…..okay maybe not that many…or maybe! I used the 4″ x 6″ Cello Bags, tied the Chevron Ribbon around to close it and made the tag. For the tag, I used my scrap pieces of 2″ wide Whisper White cardstock. Slide that piece into your Scallop Tag Topper Punch and stamp your greeting. On my longer pieces I stamped bigger images from the Freaky Friends Stamp Set (like the witch) and for the smaller pieces I stamped smaller images. I love using up scraps! I did use my Corner Rounder Punch for the bottom corners so it would match the rounded top corners that the tag topper punch creates! I used the Freaky Friends Stamp Set and Good Greetings Stamp Set! I thought I would share this photo as well!

Treat Bags, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I colored in the witch with an Old Olive face, Pumpkin Pie legs and arm, and Soft Suede broom! 🙂 heeeeheeeheee

I hope these gave you some great ideas for your Halloween Treats! You have 24 Days or less to get them done!!! 🙂

Also, don’t forget today is the last day to Stock Up and Save!!! Click here for all the details!

Ways to Use Your Blendabilities!!!

Posted on

I am loving my Blendabilities Markers! They make coloring so much fun and there are so many ways to use them!!!

Blendabilities Flower Shop, www.LaurasStampPad.com

How many ways did I use my Blendabilities on the card above? If you guessed 4 then you are correct! I colored my ribbon, my rhinestones, my flower and created the polka dots! How fabulous is that!

For the Ribbon, I started with a piece of Whisper White Organza Ribbon and the lightest Rich Razzleberry Marker. Start coloring on the right side to about half way in, then take the darkest marker and start on the left and color to the middle where it meets the lightest color. Now take your medium marker and color the middle section overlapping over both the dark and light shades. This gives a fabulous ombre look to your ribbon! You know how I love me some ombre! 🙂

For the Rhinestones, just color one rhinestone with each of the 3 markers! It is as easy as that!

For the Flower, I stamped this one from the Flower Shop Stamp Set with my Memento Pad. Then starting with the darkest color, I started coloring the tips of all of the petals, then I grabbed the lightest color and colored the center of the flower and a little out. Finally, take your medium marker and color the middle, overlapping both the dark and lightest colors. I have also done it where I color with the darkest and lightest marker only and use the lines in the flower to color one section light, the next dark. Once I was done coloring, I took the Color Lifter and ran it along those tight lines. The Color Lifter sorta bleaches out the area so this gave a lighter look in those areas! Of course after coloring the flower, I used my Pansy Punch to punch it out!

For the Polka Dots, I adhered my flower to the Whisper White square with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then using the lightest marker start dotting all around the flower with a few farther out. Then take your medium marker and dot around the light dots and a few father out. With the darkest marker, dot randomly farther out. This will give the look that the dots fade out. I’m not the best with random so mine doesn’t really give that illusion but some come out better than others! 🙂

I put it all together with some Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry cardstock with a layer of Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper in there! I love the bright colors and the way the flower pops! So cute! What is your favorite way to color with your Blendabilities? Leave me a comment down below!

Work of Art Holiday Cards!!!

Posted on

We all know the Work of Art Stamp Set is fabulous and can be used in soooooo many ways but did you know you can use it for your Holiday Cards as well? Of course you can! Check out these amazing cads!

Work of Art Wreath, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Eeeeee I can’t help but squeal at how amazing this card is and how fabulous the Work of Art Stamp Set is. If you don’t have it already, click here for wood and here for clear and overnight the shipping (just kidding…..on the shipping part)!!! This card was created with Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, and Mossy Meadow. I used the smaller swish image for the wreath and got the multiple shades by stamping a few times before going back to the ink pad! For the holly berries, I used my Cherry Cobbler Candy Dots from the Regals Pack. You can also color your Pearls or Rhinestones with your Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities and use them for the holly berries. Or you could use your Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details!!!! Lots of options!

Work of Art Tree, www.LaurasStampPad.com

You didn’t seriously think there was only one way to use your Work of Art Stamp Set for the Holidays! This one uses the long swish image. I found it easiest to start at the bottom and stamp with the image half way off the paper. Ink up and move the stamp a bit farther to the left and stamp again, repeat until you are at the top of your paper! For this one I used Cherry Cobbler colored Rhinestones but you could use any of the items mentioned above as well! The greeting comes from the Bright & Beautiful Stamp Set! Love it!!!!

Technique Tuesday – Pom Pom Fun!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! That means I have a fabulous technique to share with you and today it is making cut little Pom Poms!!!!

Pom Pom Party Hat, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I am loving the Pink little Pom Pom on that party hat!!!! It is just so fluffy!!! And fairly easy to make! Let’s get started!

Supplies Needed: Baker’s Twine (I prefer to use the Thick style), a fork or piece of scrap paper, and a needle

The supply list is short and a little odd but you will see! For this card, I used the Thick Strawberry Slush Baker’s Twine. Since I wanted a smaller pom pom, I just wrapped the twine around the tines of a fork about 10 times. Then you will take another piece of the twine and loop it through the middle tines and tie all of your loops together. Now you can slide the loops off of the fork and cut all of the loops. I do kind of like all of the loops too…super cute! Once you can have cut your loops, you can either stop there or take your needle and run it up each piece of Baker’s Twine to fray the ribbon into lots of smaller strands. This is the part that sometimes can take awhile and make you want to go crazy! Once you think you have done them all, you find another one. 🙂 Fluff all of the pieces and your Pom Pom is complete!!!! I attached the Pom Pom to the Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper triangle with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I layered the party hat onto a piece of Strawberry Slush that I had run through my Big Shot with the Alphabet Press Embossing Folder! The greeting is from Remembering Your Birthday and I punched it out with my Decorative Label Punch!

Pom Pom Box, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For this adorable gift box, I decorated it with the All Is Calm Designer Washi Tape which is super simple. Then I used the Silver Baker’s Twine for the pom pom. To make this one a little bigger, I wrapped the twine around a piece of scrap paper that was wider than the fork. Again 10 times around, slide it off and tie it in the middle, cut the loops and fray it!

To see this all in action, check out my Video Tutorial!!! Be sure to give the video a thumbs up if you liked it and don’t forget to subscribe so you don’t miss out on any future videos (like the one on Thursday 😉 )

It’s Not About The Number, It’s The Memories!

Posted on

Memorable Moments, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Birthdays are very special! Everyone has one and it is a day to celebrate YOU and all the memories you have created each year! I love how this card represents the many years. This card doesn’t specify which year you are on but shows many numbers to make a colorful background! I love it!!!! I used the Memorable Moments Stamp Set for all of the numbers and the greeting is from Remembering Your Birthday! I used Island Indigo, Crushed Curry, Old Olive, and Calypso Coral Ink Pads for all of the numbers and stamped about 4 of each number in various colors.Of course, I had to add in a little ribbon and I picked the Chevron Island Indigo Ribbon for this one! I like how the ribbon separates the greeting from the colorful numbers!

I hope you enjoyed this card and try out this color combination on your next project! And remember it is not about the number, it is about the memories you make each year! 🙂

Technique Tuesday – Decorative Masks!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! You know what that means! I have a fabulous technique to share with you today! I am going to show you how to use your Decorative Masks! Also, I’ll show you how your can use your Build a Banner Masks too!!!

Ombre Polka Dot Background, www.LaurasStampPad.com

You know me and my love for the Ombre look (check out more here and here)! I just can’t get enough of it! I used my Build A Banner Polka Dot Mask for this one but you could use the Dots & Stripes Decorative Mask as well! Soft Sky, Marina Mist, and Night of Navy were the colors I sponged on with my Sponge Daubers (love)! I sponged a few rows of each and then when I went to the next darker color, I rubbed lightly over that last row of the lighter color to give it a blended look. The Happy Birthday is from the Remembering Your Birthday Stamp Set! I sponged the edges of the greeting as well and adhered that with Stampin’ Dimensionals to a 1-3/4 Circle Punched piece of Night of Navy! I ran the circle through the Big Shot with the Stripes Embossing Folder! For a little texture, I looped some Whisper White Baker’s Twine in there as well!

Stars Decorative Mask, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This one is very similar to the one above. I used my Sponge Daubers and the Hearts and Stars Decorative Mask Set! I layered that onto some Lost Lagoon and Hello Honey cardstock and added some Satin Stitched Ribbon in Lost Lagoon! I am really loving that ribbon and find myself reaching for it often! For the popped up stars, I used the small and medium stars from the Bright & Beautiful Stamp Set that is in the Holiday Mini Catalog! Of course, there is a Star Framelit so you don’t have to fussy cut those stars out! 🙂 Love it! You could do this in Red, White, & Blue or Navy and Silver would be fabulous too!

Of course, it is always easier, for me at least, to understand a technique when you see it in action. Here is a Video Tutorial for you see both the Ombre Background and Stars Decorative Mask. Be sure to give the video a thumbs up if you liked it and don’t forget to subscribe to My Channel so you never miss out when I post a new video!
