Ombre Blues!!!

Posted on

So I learned about the Ombre look a little over a year ago and have LOVED it ever since. My husband giggles because he says I say ombre in a funny way. I’m sure I do!!! 🙂

Webster’s Dictionary defines Ombre as having colors or tones that shade into each other; the color is graduated from light to dark!

Ombre Blue Work of Art, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Here is my latest ombre creation – of course with the Work of Art Stamp Set! The images in that set make the ombre effect so amazing and simple! Also, I only had to get out ONE stamp pad for the look! I just inked up the image and stamped on the bottom, middle and top without re-inking! This technique really gives you endless colors with just one ink pad! So the next time you are thinking you need a lighter blue or green or pink than what you already have, just stamp off onto a piece of scrap paper and then stamp on your project!

This card uses Coastal Cabana and Whisper White cardstock! I stamped with Coastal Cabana and Basic Black! With my Baker’s Twine, I wrapped it around twice and tied a double knot. Then I took a needle and frayed the ends so they would look more full and puffy! Super Cute!

Do you like the Ombre look? Which color is your favorite to use for this technique? Leave me a comment down below! For more samples using this technique click here!

Pink & Sprinkles!!!!

Pink & Sprinkles, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card is just fabulous because it uses the color PINK (Melon Mambo) and it mentions SPRINKLES (I love them)!  This was one of the cards that we made at my Birthday Celebration Class last week! I used my Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set for the background with Melon Mambo & Daffodil Delight Ink. Then for the greeting I used my Remembering Your Birthday Stamp Set and another stamp from Gorgeous Grunge for those little dots in the background! Gorgeous Grunge makes some amazing backgrounds! You could even do this in boy colors like blues and greens, blue and gray, 2 shades of blue or green. I see some inspiration happening. 🙂 Okay, back to the card, I added some Daffodil Delight Seam Binding to give the card some POP and texture! This is a fairly simple simple card and the little greeting piece uses up scraps! Bonus!

Work of Art, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Are you tired of the Work of Art Stamp Set? No, yeah me neither!!! The possibilities are endless with this set! LOVE IT! You can check out more samples here, here, and here! This card uses all of the 2013-2015 In Colors except Pistachio Pudding. I used Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, and Strawberry Slush for all of the swish marks (that’s the technical term, right?)! Then I stamped the greeting in Baked Brown Sugar! For the background, I stamped the circle image from the stamp set in Crisp Cantaloupe onto Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock! I finished it off with some Thick Baker’s Twine in Coastal Cabana! After I tied the twine, I frayed the ends to get a fuller, pom pom look! What do you think? Is this your favorite one? Technique Tuesday – Post It Note Holders!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!!! I know it kind of feels like Monday since yesterday was a Holiday but trust me it’s Tuesday! Woot Woot for skipping on Monday!!!! I have a fabulous technique to share with you today! These items make perfect gifts for co-workers, teachers, friends and just about anyone!

Post-It Note Holders, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Of course you can make more masculine ones for those teachers and co-workers who are men but everyone uses Post-It Notes!!!

SUPPLIES NEEDED: Post-It Notes, Cardstock, Embellishments (Whisper White Organza Ribbon, Window Sheet, Vintage Faceted Buttons, Heat Tool, Stazon, Blendabilities)

Starting with a piece of cardstock that measures 3-1/4″ x 7″, you will score along the 7″ side at 3-1/4″ and 3-3/4″. These are the folds to wrap around your post-it note. Go ahead and add some adhesive to the back of your post-its and stick them inside your base! Now for the decoration on the front, I layered a piece of Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper (2-3/4″ Square) onto a piece of Old Olive (3″ Square). Then I took 2 pieces of Whisper White Organza Ribbon that were 4″ long and placed them in a “T” pattern on top of my Designer Series Paper! Wrap the ends to the back and adhere to the front of your Post-It Holder base. For the flower, I stamped a flower from the Flower Shop Stamp Set with my Stazon onto a piece of Window Sheet. Be careful not to wiggle or smear your image and be sure to set this aside for a minute to dry. Once it is dry, flip it over to the backside and using your Blendabilities Markers, you will color the flower! I used the Rich Razzleberry Blendabilities and used the darkest color! Once that is complete, punch out your flower with the Pansy Punch. While waiting for it to dry a bit, you can stamp the same flower with Stazon onto a piece of Old Olive cardstock and punch it out. Then with a pair of Paper Snips, cut out 2 of the petals and these will be use as leaves for your flower! For a faux glass look and to have your petals curl up a bit, you can heat your window sheet flower with your heat tool. Hold your heat tool about 1-2 inches away from the flower and after a bit (first it needs to heat up) you will start to see the Window Sheet melt and curl. Be careful not to burn yourself. Now it is time to assemble your flower. Attached your leaves with a little bit of Snail or a Mini Glue Dot and then attach your flower to your card with a Mini Glue Dot. Now you can attach your Vintage Faceted Button with a Mini Glue Dot as well. If you wish to color your button first, you may do so with your Blendabilities! Then I colored a pearl with my Blendabilities and placed that in the center of the button! Don’t you just love all the things and way you can color with your Blendabilities! LOVE IT!!! Super cute and a great gift to give!

I hope you enjoyed this technique and try it at home!!! Let me know what you think or how yours came out in the comment below!

Gift Box Punch Board!!!

Posted on

Eeeee This Gift Box Punch Board is sooooo much fun and makes super cute boxes! Okay, it doesn’t make them on it’s own, I use it to make them. Just thought I needed to put that disclaimer out there. 🙂 Today the Holiday Mini Catalog is LIVE which means you can now start ordering from it!!! WOOT WOOT!

Gift Box Punch Board, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Adorable little boxes!!!! Each of the boxes pictured above were created with the Gift Box Punch Board. The board has all the score lines for you to create, a stylus right there for you, and a punch for all of your notches and rounding! It also has a wonderful grid printed right on there showing you the Box Size, Starting Cardstock Size, Starting Line, and Diagonal Line! Everything you need minus the cardstock is right on the board! I love that! The sizing goes from 6″ x 6″ to 12″ x 12″ for your starting cardstock. Of course, you can also use Designer Series Paper too but be sure to press lightly as the DSP is a thinner style of paper! Be sure to decorate your box before scoring or before assembly! 🙂 I have already made that mistake…..about 5 times I think!

Of course, I created a Video Tutorial for you to see this amazing tool in action!!! Be sure to give the video a thumbs up if you like it and want to see more videos! Don’t forget to subscribe to my Channel so you don’t miss out on any future videos!

I will be posting a lot more amazing Holiday Mini Catalog samples in all the weeks so come! So many amazing new products!

Technique Tuesday – Rosettes!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! That means I have a fabulous technique to show you and I thought I would keep the Big Shot Fun rolling!!! So this technique uses the Rosette Designer Die and I will show how to make fabulous Rosettes!!! PS: If you missed out on all of the Big Shot Fun last week, click here!

Designer Rosettes, Name Tag, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Aren’t these adorable? I am using them for my Bridal Events as name tags but you could always create a wreath out of them or an amazing backdrop or even a gift tag!

SUPPLIES NEEDED: Cardstock, Big Shot, Rosette Designer Bigz XL Die, Extended Cutting Pads, Silicone Craft Mat, Glue Gun, and embellishments to decorate

For the Rosettes above, I cut 2 pieces of cardstock measuring 1-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ because I wanted a little Rosette. You will need 2 pieces of cardstock because otherwise the rosette is too tight and it will not reach around without ripping. The more pieces you use, the fuller your rosette will look. If you want a larger rosette you will make your cardstock pieces wider. Once I had my cardstock ready to go, I placed them on the Rosette Designer Die with at least one end on a crease line, this way I knew it was lined up straight. Run it through your Big Shot and then start folding on the lines in a mountain/valley pattern. Then you will bring out your Silicone Mat and Hot Glue Gun. You can use the hot glue or Sticky Strip or the new Fast Fuse to connect your ends with each other. You will want to connect them so that they keep the mountain/valley. Now you will take your hot glue gun and squeeze out a big glob of it onto your Silicone Mat, then place the rosette on top of the the hot glue, placing the center of the rosette on the glue. Hold for a few seconds, allowing it to cool and then you have your perfect rosette and you can decorate as you wish! I added some Blackberry Bliss Satin Stitched Ribbon and Venetian Crochet Trim, adhering it with more hot glue. Then for the greeting I used the I love you from the Good Greetings Stamp Set which is a Hostess Special Set that you can earn starting on August 28th! I stamped it on Very Vanilla cardstock and punched it out with my 1-3/4″ Circle Punch and layered it onto a Blackberry Bliss Scallop Circle Punch. For the other one, I used a greeting from a Demonstrator Set that I have so I could have little name tags! I used the Decorative Label Punch for that one!

Okay so I may have lost you on the directions above so I have created a Video Tutorial to show you how to create these amazing little rosettes! Be sure to give the video a thumbs up if you like it and want to see more Video Tutorials!

Don’t forget about the Big Shot Special that ends on August 31st! Also, if you want to earn the Good Greetings Stamp Set for FREE, click here to book your party/stamp class today!!!

Big Shot Promotion – Quick and Simple Card!

Posted on

Still continuing the Big Shot Fun this week! If you missed Monday and Tuesday, be sure to check them out! Today I’m showing you a quick and simple card using your Big Shot not once but twice!

Perfect Pennants, Banner Framelits, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Tempting Turquoise and Strawberry Slush are just precious together!!! This simple card uses a Whisper White card base (4-1/4″ x 11″)! I embossed a piece of Tempting Turquoise cardstock measuring 3-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ with my Decorative Dots Embossing Folder! That was a piece that was handy in my scraps bags so you could always change up the size of that piece to whatever you have available! 😉 Then grab a piece of Whisper White scrap cardstock and stamp a greeting from the Perfect Pennants Stamp Set. Using a coordinating Banner Framelit, place that on your Big Shot and run it through for a perfect banner! I then used my 1/8″ Circle Handheld Punch to punch a hole for your Thick Baker’s Twine! You can punch 2 holes if you prefer to loop your twine across! Add that to your card with some Stampin’ Dimensionals and you have a fabulous card! The Perfect Pennants Stamp Set has a star and heart stamp in the set as well so I stamped a little heart on the inside just to decorate it up a little! Love it!

Perfect Pennants, Banner Framelits, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This sample is very similar style but I used my Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder and after adding the twine I pulled the ends apart to flare it out a little! To see this card in action using your Big Shot, check out the Video Tutorial below! If you like the video be sure to give it a thumbs up and don’t forget to subscribe to my channel so you don’t miss the rest of my Big Shot Videos this week!

Technique Tuesday – Big Shot Promotion!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday and Happy Big Shot Week here on my blog! Click here to see yesterday’s post! Today I’m going to show you an amazing technique with your Big Shot and Embossing Folders! Don’t forget about the amazing Big Shot Promotion Stampin’ Up! has going on this month! Today we are going to talk about using your Embossing Folders with your Big Shot! I love embossing my projects because I really think it takes a simple card to a WOW card with just the crank of the Big Shot!

Decorative Dots Work of Art, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Okay first off check out this amazing card! LOVE IT! It is soooo simple too! I just used a 4-1/4″ x 11″ piece of Whisper White Cardstock and stamped the amazing flower with my Work of Art Stamp Set! I used Blackberry Bliss & Mossy Meadow Ink (for the various shades of purple I stamped a few times before going back to the ink pad)! Then I placed the card front into the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder and ran it through my Big Shot! How amazing?!?! I love it! No adhesive required! 🙂

Lucky Stars Inked Folder, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Now this one was done a little differently! I used the NEW Lucky Stars Embossing Folder which is coming out in the Holiday Mini Catalog on August 28th! I opened up the embossing folder and on the side where the stars pop up I lightly tapped my ink pad over top! You don’t want to press too hard or the ink will go down into the flat area of the embossing folder. Now you will place your piece of cardstock into the non-inked side and close the folder. You can either close the folder and just press and viola you are done or you can close it and run it through the Big Shot for a colored and textured look! I then assembled this piece onto Daffodil Delight Cardstock and Night of Navy card base! I used my Night of Navy Marker to color the Whisper White Organza Ribbon to match! Check out this post for more on that! The greeting is from the Petite Pairs Stamp Set which I punched out with my Decorative Label Punch and added a few punched stars from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack! Check out the video tutorial below to see this in action!!! Don’t forget to give it a thumbs up if you like this video and want to see more! Click the subscribe button so you don’t miss out on more Big Shot Videos this week!

Only 13 more days to get your Big Shot and a Free Bundle! Check back tomorrow for some more Big Shot Fun!

Puddles of Ink!!!!

Posted on

Who doesn’t love inky fingers? Wait, am I the only one who does LOVE inky fingers? 🙂 Ahh It washes off eventually and it is just so much fun being messy! Well this technique I am going to show you is for sure messy but so much fun and super cool!

Ink Dropper Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Disclaimer: No 2 Watercolor Cards come out alike! Playing with watercolors is always a toss up on the outcome!

I felt I needed to put that disclaimer out there because I can’t really teach you how to achieve this EXACT look because they all come out different. I’m not going to lie this one did come out amazing – I love the colors, I love those white spots on the top left, it’s perfect to me! I have done a few others and my fellow stampers like the ones I don’t like and don’t like the ones I do like so you never know what you might get! Okay let me tell you about this technique!!!

I started with some re-inkers and my Silicone Mat! In the card above I used Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, and Tempting Turquoise! Drop dots of the re-inker all over the silicone mat. You can make some of the drops touch or keep them all apart. Then you will take a Spritzer with alcohol or water and give it about 5 spritzes or so. Enough to add some liquid to the mat and to make a few dots bleed a little. Then you will place your Watercolor Paper right on top. Feel free to instantly pick it back up for lots of white areas, press it all around and let ink really soak in, or press in only a few spots. Now you will pick it up and turn it over to see what you have!

Reinker Watercolor, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Again here you can set it aside to dry, tilt it around to mix the colors, use your finger to move some color around and fill in white spots, whatever you decide! You can also get multiple watercolor pieces out of one set of re-inker drops. Just lay another piece down! I have also added a few drops of a preferred color or added a few spritzes to get it more wet! Here is another set that I did in Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, and Hello Honey! I thought I would love these but for the most part….ehhh not my favorites!

Reinker Watercolor, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I will have a Video Tutorial for you to see this technique in action, but we decided to stay an extra day on vacation so I will be posting the video later today! 🙂 Thank you for understanding!!! Be sure to subscribe to my Channel though so you don’t miss out on this one and other videos!
