Circle of Butterflies!!!

All Abloom Paper, Butterflies, www.LaurasStampPad.com

You all know how I love flowers so why I didn’t purchase the All Abloom Designer Series Paper Stack much sooner, I don’t know! A few weeks ago this fabulous paper stack was on the Weekly Deals and I was tempted even though I have tons of Designer Series Paper. It is so true though….you can never have enough! I’m super excited about this paper and fell in love right away! Over the next week or so you will see lots of samples that I have created with this amazing paper!!!! The best part is you can create 4 or more of these cards with just one package of this paper! The stack includes 4 each of 12 designs and each card I created using only one piece! So let’s get started….

For the cards above, I started with a Whisper White card base measuring 4-1/4″ x 11″. The All Abloom Paper piece measures 4″ x 5-1/4″ and I used the 2″ Circle punch to cut out the circle. My original was with the circle on the side but one of my class attendees wanted her circle in the middle so I tried that out too! I’m not sure which one I love more!!! Before adhering the Designer Series Paper, place it on the card front and stamp your greeting. This was help with the placement of the image but not bump into the stamp as it might once adhered since I used Stampin’ Dimensionals! I used the greeting from the Petite Pairs Stamp Set. I love the coordinating greetings. You can use both of them or just one of them or stamp the second one on the inside! Once the greeting is stamped, you can attached the Designer Series Paper with dimensionals. I put one on each corner and then a few around the circle to keep that area popped up as well! Then I finished it off with a few butterflies die cut and embossing using the Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die and the Big Shot! Also, I added a little bow using the Blushing Bride Baker’s Twine and adhered it with a Mini Glue Dot! Simple, fabulous, and this card could be used for lots of different occasions!

Be sure to check back for more samples using the All Abloom Designer Series Paper Stack or you can subscribe in the upper right corner of the page and you won’t miss any posts!!!

Cute Cozy Coupe!!!

Cozy Coupe Punch Art, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Punch art is so much fun and when you can create something so adorable like this little cozy coupe it is even more fun!!!! I made this card for a good friend of mine and it is so fitting!!!!

I used a Note Card & Envelope for this card and stamped the greeting from the Simply Wonderful Stamp Set which was a Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set! For the tires, I used the Owl Builder Punch for the white circle and punched a hole in the middle with the 1/8″ Hand-Held Punch. Then I layered a Real Red Circle behind the Whisper White. I did this to allow the red to peak through that little 1/8″ circle hole. You could always add a dot with your Real Red Marker as well. I layered that piece onto a 3/4″ Circle Punch in Basic Black!

I wish I had better directions for the top of the cozy coupe but it was done with a Circle Punch base and lots of luck! I honestly don’t know if I could do this card again and have it look identical! 🙂 Hand-made after all! I punched the circle and then punched with the circle punch again farther in to take off most of it and create the inside. Then I did some trimming with my scissors on the top and bottom of this banana looking piece. I popped all of the top on with Stampin’ Dimensionals….in fact the red base is popped up with 2 dimensionals layered on top of each other. I really wanted it to stand up so my steering wheel would look more 3D. I’m sure in the mail is was squished flat but either way! 🙂 For the little label I started with a piece of Real Red punched with the Petite Curly Label Punch and then trimmed it up! I wrote Lil’ Tikes on it.

I thought it came out cute and looked pretty much like a Cozy Coupe! What do you think? What have you made with Punch Art? Here, here and here are a couple other items I have created!!!

Technique Tuesday – Flip Flap Fun!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! I have a fabulous technique to share with you today! This is one that I have shared before but it is always fun to take an old technique and do it all over again!! You can check out the other sample here!

Flip Flap Fold, Birthday Candle, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This is the fun Flip Flap Fold (at least that is what I like to call it)! 🙂 I love the fun fold and look to this card and it is so fun to open a card a little differently! The other bonus is that it still fits in a regular Medium Envelope!

Flip Flap Fold, Birthday Candle, www.LaurasStampPad.com

You can see the directions for this card here so I will get down to the details of this card! I started with a base of Bermuda Bay and layered with Tangelo Twist! The balloons and confetti are from the Birthday Bash Designer Series Paper from the Occasions Mini Catalog. I love those gold foil balloons in the paper! It adds such a flare!

For your decoration part, I used the 1-3/4″ Circle Punch to punch out the Whisper White scrap that I stamped the candles from the Balloon Bash Stamp Set! I used my markers to get the different colors! I layered that onto a piece of 2-3/8″ Scallop Circle in Tangelo Twist.. Be sure to only put adhesive on the bottom half of your layered decoration so you don’t have any sticky showing. I added some Whisper White Cotton Ribbon to the edge! Love it!!!

Flip Flap Fold, Birthday Candle, www.LaurasStampPad.com

There is still plenty of room on the inside for you to write on! I always think this style of card is fun for kids but I know I would enjoy this card as well! Although I think I’ll always be a kid at heart! 🙂

Let me know if you try out this card and how you decide to decorate it! Leave me a comment down below!

Sophisticated Serifs Note Cards, www.LaurasStampPad.com

These little note cards are so fabulous and simple to create, you could whip up tons of them in no time flat! I’m sure your Accountant would enjoy a little set of these! Happy Tax Day!!!! They would also make a perfect Mother’s Day gift which is just a few weeks away!!! The would be a fabulous gift for a Bridal or Baby Shower Gift too!! I packaged the cards up in a Gusseted Cellophane Bag with some Whisper White Organza Ribbon!

The Note Cards above are just a piece of cardstock measuring 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ and I layered a piece of Whisper White measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″ on top. I used the Sophisticated Serifs Stamp Set for the flowers and letter! I love this stamp set because the font is simple yet elegant and it offers each letter in both a big and small font! LOVE IT!! The little flowers for the corners are super fabulous as well!!! I pulled out all of my scraps that I had that were big enough for this size and quickly made up lots of these little cards! I haven’t stamped the letter on there just yet because I’m waiting to see who I will give it to! Perfect little gift to have on hand!

Monogram Scallop Circle, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This little card is precious! I used the Note Card & Envelopes to create these. I took my Designer Series Paper Scraps and cut a piece 2″ x 5″. This card uses the Brights Background Designer Series Paper! For the Monogram, I used my Scallop Circle Punches and Circle Punch to layer the letter so perfectly! Super cute and another great way to use up some scraps.

Sheltering Tree Monogram Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This one is super fabulous because it uses the Sheltering Tree Stamp Set for the dotted background! I love using a random stamp set for a card like this – getting more out of a stamp set is fabulous!!!! You can see more samples using this stamp set here, here and here! You can see the 2 sizes of the alphabet font from the Sophisticated Serifs Stamp Set. LOVE IT!!! I also stamped a little corner of the envelope! Do you all like to coordinate your envelopes with your cards?? Let me know in the comments below!

Technique Tuesday – Fork Bow!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! That means I have a fabulous technique to share with you!!! Today the technique is cute, small, and uses a fork!!!

You're In My Thoughts, fork bow, www.LaurasStampPad.com

How adorable is that mini bow???? The technique to make it may seem a little confusing in the beginning but it is real simple and comes out perfect each time! Love it!

Supplies: Fork and Cotton Ribbon

You will need a piece of Daffodil Delight Cotton Ribbon anywhere from 6″-10″ (depending on how long you want your tails) and a fork with four tines. If you are right handed, you will place the fork in your left hand with your thumb up by the tines. Place the ribbon across front of fork with 1/3” of ribbon to left of the fork (this is the left side tail). Now wrap the right end of the ribbon around behind the fork, around left edge, over the top of the first end. It will look like a loop with the ends crossed over each other. Thread the that you just wrapped around the fork down through the space between the center fork tines below where the first ribbon crosses. Next you will pull that ribbon end up behind the fork and through the space between center fork tines. Then you will knot the two ribbon ends firmly. Slide ribbon from fork and trim the tails. If you need to tighten your bow, you will pull the tails, not the loops like in a typical bow!

I know this can be confusing at first which is why I did a Video Tutorial for you!!!! Woot Woot! You will see on the video that you can do this with all types of ribbon! For another sample using this technique, check out this post! I used my scissors for the larger style bow!

For the sample shown above, I used a Strawberry Slush card base and layered Blushing Bride on top! The Designer Series Paper is from the All Abloom Designer Series Paper Stack. This card uses one of the sheets (both front and back) for the pink flowers and the yellow dots! I added a strip of Whisper White Scallop Punched cardstock behind the yellow dots! For the bow, I added a strip of Daffodil Delight Cotton Ribbon across the card and then adhered the bow with a Mini Glue Dot in the center! For the greeting, I stamped in Strawberry Slush using the A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Set. I added 2 little candy dots on either side to finish it off! I love it! It is pink, flowers, and just adorable. I think you could use this card for lots of different occasions – Baby Girl, Birthday, Anniversary, Wedding, Thinking of You, etc. Which would you use this card for? Leave me a comment down below!

I love love love this card and the other sample posted below! They are simple cards and just stunning! You all know I love flowers and pinks and purples!!!! The Lovely Amazing You Stamp Set has THE best greetings ever!!!! This card was super simple to create. I started with a Whisper White card base (4-1/4″ x 11″) and added some Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper from the Occasions Mini Catalog (4″ x 5-1/4″). For the greeting, I used the 2-3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch to punch out some Crushed Curry. Then after stamping my greeting from the Lovely Amazing You Stamp Set in Blackberry Bliss, I punched it out with my 2″ Circle Punch! I adhered the circle to the scallop and then attached it to my card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the final touch, I got out my Itty Bitty Accents Epoxy Stickers and colored the little circle with my Rich Razzleberry Blendabilities (these are no longer available). You can also color them with a Sharpie Marker!!! Here is another sample!

Easter Flowers!!!

Posted on

Easter Sheltering Tree, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Easter is a week and a half away!!!! I love Easter and it is my favorite holiday! I love the bright colors, the Spring weather, the joyfulness and fun of the low-key holiday! Of course, there is also the AMAZING candy at Easter time!!! Since I don’t do a lot of cards for Easter time, I don’t like to spend money on a Easter specific stamp set because I want something more versatile. You want versatile…..Teeny Tiny Wishes is the stamp set for you! I LOVE IT! It has a greeting for everything. That is the greeting I used here with my Modern Label Punch and Word Window Punch. For the flowers, I used the Sheltering Tree Stamp Set from the Occasions Mini Catalog! Love this set! You can see more samples here, here and here! I used Pear Pizzazz for the stems and the flowers are Crushed Curry, Rose Red, and Wisteria Wonder! I rounded the corners of the Whisper White to soften the edges. Want something even more soft? Try the Painted Blooms Cotton Twine! It is soft and easy to tie and not chunky on your card at all!

Let me know what you think of this card? Do you send Easter Cards? This would make a great spring card for any occasion. Also, let me know in the comment below what you favorite Easter candy is!!!!!

I don’t know if I have a true favorite……I love jelly beans, malted eggs, and peeps!

Technique Tuesday – Card In A Box!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! I have a fabulous technique to share with you today!!! It is super fabulous and has a major WOW factor! This card is for sure one to put on the mantel or desk to display!!!

Card In A Box, www.LaurasStampPad.com

How amazing is this card? It is like a flower bouquet but in 3D. If you want a flat flower bouquet, click here! Now you can see why I said this card is one to display for sure!!! LOVE IT!! You can create in with flowers, butterflies, balloons, stars and so much more!!! Now lets get started on how to create it!!!

SUPPLIES NEEDED: Cardstock, Scoring Tool (either your Stampin’ Trimmer or Simply Scored), Sticky Strip, Designer Series Paper, Stamps, and Embellishments

You will start with a piece of cardstock measuring 5-1/2” x 9”. I used Bermuda Bay in the sample above. Now using your scoring tool on the Paper Trimmer or the Simply Scored Tool, you will score along the 9” end at 2 1/8”, 4 ¼”, 6 3/8” and 8 ½”. Rotate the cardstock 90 degrees and score at 2 ¾”.  Now using scissors, cut down to that 2-3/4″ along each score line to create flaps on the top half. Trim off the tiny strip left over at the end (this leaves a tab on the bottom half). Fold on the creases and use sticky strip to adhere the box together with that little flap. The best way to do this is to fold the card flat and stick the tab to the other side. By laying it flat you know it will adhere flat rather than trying to do it in the air and having it not lay flat. (I hope that didn’t super confuse you.) Now to create the tabs for inside the box which your decorations will be adhered to, you will need 2 pieces of cardstock measuring 1” x 3-1/8” and you will score at both ends at ½”. Fold the tabs to form a “z” and adhere sticky strip to the ends (opposite ends) and set aside. Now to decorate!!!!

For the back of the box, add cardstock for writing your message – this piece is 5 1/4” x 1-7/8”. Be sure to stamp before adhering it to the back of the card since it isn’t smooth. For decorating the flaps, you can use Designer Series Paper or cardstock for the top four panels. In my sample, I used Blackberry Bliss measuring 2″ x 2-5/8″ and then the Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper measuring 1-7/8″ x 2-1/2″. To add your two “Z” strips to the inside of the box, you will adhere them with one tab towards the back and then close the box and let the other tab attach to the other side of the box. For the other one, you will put it towards the front of the box and then close it to attach the other tab. See the video tutorial for more on this because I’m sure if I try to explain any more, I will only confuse you more! 🙂 Now you can embellish as desired. I used the Flower Shop Stamp Set and Pansy Punch. I also stamped a few butterflies from the Papillon Potpourri and Bitty Butterfly Punch! For the leaves, I used the Bird Builder Punch! I used little strips of Mossy Meadow to stand my flowers taller and for the butterflies, I used little strip of Window Sheet!

Card In A Box, www.LaurasStampPad.com

The other awesome thing about this card in a box is that it folds flat and fit into a regular envelope!!! Woot Woot! For the back, I used the Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set – Simply Wonderful! LOVE IT!!!!

Okay so what you have been waiting for….the Video Tutorial! I know this can be a bit confusing which is why I just had to film it. If you liked it, be sure to give it a thumbs up!!!

You can see another sample I created before by clicking here and here! I hope you enjoyed this and try it out! I would LOVE to see what you come up with so please share with me!!!

Painted Blooms & Friday the 13th!!!

Posted on

Happy Friday!!!! I hope you all had a wonderful week!!!! I just wanted to share this quick and simple FABULOUS card today to brighten your day!!!

Painted Blooms DSP, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card uses the Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper from the Occasions Mini Catalog! I layered it onto some Rich Razzleberry and then a Blackberry Bliss card base! I added some Blackberry Bliss Satin Stitched Ribbon and the greeting is from the Label Love Stamp Set and coordinating Artisan Label Punch (Bundle & Save)!!! Perfect Anniversary or Wedding card!!!!

BONUS: I started my Laura’s Loyal Stampers this week and this weekend (Today, Saturday, & Sunday), if you place an online order you will earn double points. That means if you place an order for $25 or more, you will earn 2 points. If you place an order for $50 or more, you will earn 4 points and a Free Sale-A-Bration item!!!! Woot Woot!!! I’m so excited to start spoiling you all even more!!! How is that for Friday the 13th!?!?!?!

Of course, it’s not a Friday without the Weekly Deals!!!!

Weekly Deals 3.10

Also, I don’t want to have to say it but I feel you should know sooner rather than later. Stampin’ Up has discontinued the Blendabilities. As I stated last week, they turned the Blendabilities off because of a quality issue that Stampin’ Up and their customers were having. It seems this is a permanent defect in the pens that has microscopic holes in the barrels so they are drying out since they are alcohol. The manufacturer is unable to correct the problem to meet Stampin’ Up! high quality standards and provide a stable, long-term solution so they have been discontinued. 🙁 I am really sad about this but I won’t want to purchase or sell a defective product to all of you. Hopefully since these were super popular, Stampin’ Up will come out with a new Blendable pen soon! Fingers crossed!

Technique Tuesday – Iris Fold!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! You know what that means….I have a fabulous technique to share with you today!!! I love this one because it creates an amazing look AND it uses little scraps (who doesn’t have millions of those laying around)!!!!

Iris Fold, Scrap Use, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Need a third reason to create this card? It makes a great Man Card!!!! Now lets get started on how I created this!!!!

SUPPLIES NEEDED: Scraps of Paper, 2-1/2″ Circle Punch, Stampin’ Dimensionals

You will start with a piece of Whisper White cardstock measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″ and using your 2-1/2″ Circle Punch push it all the way in on right side and center it top to bottom and punch!!! Now apply Snail or Fast Fuse around the circle and start laying your strips of cardstock down. I used Pacific Point, Old Olive, and Basic Gray in the card above. The strips are about 2 inches long (or less) and maybe a 1/4″ wide. Again you can use any type of scrap because no one is going to see the back and you will just lay one down and then the next color and the next. You can do them close together or farther part just be sure that the strip crosses over the other color and that you can’t see light between the strip and the punched circle. Once you have done the first layer, you will add Stampin’ Dimensionals at each cross section and then start in with the second layer. If you need to add in more Stampin Dimensionals, that’s no problem and if you end up not using on that was already placed down, no worries there either. It will help with adhering this piece to your card front! Once you have completed the second round, you are all done!!! At this point you can add ribbon or stamping or any embellishments to the left hand side or leave it black like mine above. Add a few more Stampin’ Dimensionals to the corners and attach it to your card base (I used Old Olive above)! After that piece is in place, you will stamp your greeting. Be sure the greeting is going to fit in the hole. The greeting used above was from Remembering Your Birthday and the coordinating greeting is stamped on the inside! Love it! Simple, quick, Man Card and uses up those scraps!!!

Iris Fold, Scrap Use, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Here is another sample using Calypso Coral, Crisp Cantaloupe and Pink Pirouette. I added in some Calypso Coral Seam Binding and the greeting is from Simply Wonderful which is a free Sale-A-Bration item! You can still earn this stamp set for FREE with a $50 (US) order placed through the end of this month! Shop here and you will also earn points as a Laura’s Loyal Stamper!!!!

Want to see this Technique in action??? Check out my video tutorial below and don’t forget to give it a thumbs up if you like it!!!
