Coloring Flowers to Highlight the Pattern!!!

Coloring Flowers to Highlight, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I have really started to love coloring especially when you don’t have to color all of it! Coloring flowers to highlight the pattern like I did in this sample is just as powerful! It makes the flowers pop and the background of black and white is fabulous too! Less coloring means more time to make multiples!!! 🙂

I started with a piece of Melon Mambo for my card base. Then I cut each piece of the Inside the Lines Sale-A-Bration Designer Paper into 1-1/2″ x 1-1/2″ squares. I punched opposite corners with the Corner Rounder Punch for some added texture. Next, I colored the flowers to highlight the pattern with the Watercolor Pencils and a Blender Pen. You really don’t have to use the Blender Pens. If you like the pencil look or if you want the image to stay bold and dark (if you press hard), just color and stop there! Once all of the pieces were colored, I layered the squares onto a piece of Old Olive cardstock measuring 3-1/2″ x 3-1/2″. Next, I added this piece to a piece of Whisper White (3-3/4″ x 5″) with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I stamped the greeting at the bottom in Melon Mambo Ink from the Designer Tee Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set. Finally, this was then layered onto the Melon Mambo card base and I finished it off with some Brights Enamel Shapes (melon mambo and old olive).

If you would like to see this all in action, check out the video tutorial below or click here! Don’t forget to give it a thumbs up if you liked it and be sure to subscribe to my channel so you don’t miss out on future videos! I post every Tuesday and Thursday!

Also, don’t forget that as we come to the end of Sale-A-Bration, the items will run out so don’t wait till the last minute. The Card Tin is already gone!

Love Is In The Air, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Ahhh, the weather has been warm and I’m loving every minute of it! Some say Spring is in the air but I say Love is in the Air!!! Spring is my favorite season. I love the new life of flowers, plants, and animals, that warm sun and cool breeze and all the bright colors!!! I can’t wait!!!

Card Instructions

For this card, I used a Calypso Coral card base. Then I took a piece of Whisper White (4″ x 5-1/4″) and stamped the 3 different clouds all over the background from the Lift Me Up Stamp Set. Marina Mist is the perfect blue for clouds! For the hot air balloon, I used the coordinating Up & Away Thinlits Dies to die cut out the pieces with the Big Shot! You can Bundle & Save 10% when you purchase these 2 together as a bundle. I did the detailed balloon in Calypso Coral. For the strips behind it, I did Marina Mist and Mint Macaron. I am loving this color combination. It is the perfect pastel collection. I used the Fine Tip Glue Pen to adhere the pieces to the back of the detailed balloon piece. You can also use a sponge and lightly pounce some glue from the Multi-Purpose Glue Pen onto the back. I added the hot air balloon to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals to give a little texture and 3D look to the balloon!

For the greeting, I added a piece of Marina Mist measuring 1/2″ x 4″ along the bottom. I stamped the greeting from the Lift Me Up Stamp Set onto a scrap piece of Whisper White. Using the Classic Label Punch, I punched it out and then added it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I used some of the skinny edge pieces. I just trimmed it to the correct length and it was perfect! To finish off the card, I added a few Enamel Shapes!! It is just perfect!!!

You can purchase the Lift Me Up Bundle in Clear and add on some Enamel Shapes or pack of Cardstock to get to the $50 order! Then you can pick out a FREE Sale-A-Bration item!!! Sending Love!!!

Sending Love, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Valentine’s Day is around the corner and this card is perfect! It isn’t specific lovely Valentine’s Day but yet still a warm thought of sharing your love with someone!!! I love it!!!

I started with a Whisper White card base. I took the 4 heart image from the Sealed with Love Stamp Set from the Occasions Mini Catalog and stamped it in Night of Navy Ink along the top and bottom of the card front. It is really easy to line up the hearts because it is a photopolymer stamp set and you can see through the stamp. Then I added a piece of Sending Love Designer Series Paper to the middle of the card (2″ x 5-1/2″). You can get 3 of these cards from 1 sheet in the Designer Series Paper Stack. I have done lots of these cards but with different patterns and each one looks just as fabulous! For the greeting, I took a piece of Whisper White measuring 1″ x 5-1/2″ and punched the ends with the Banner Triple Punch! You want to punch before you stamp so that you aren’t punching off part of your stamped image. I stamped the hearts in Navy and the greeting in Real Red Ink. Some of the cards, I stamped one greeting and 2 hearts and some I did 2 greetings and 3 hearts. I added the greeting banner to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals for a little texture! I love it because it’s quick, simple, and yet created with so much love!

I did another Valentine’s Day card yesterday and did a Video Tutorial on both of these. You can check that out here! Do love Valentine’s Day as much as me? Do you send cards for the holiday? Let me know in the comments below!

My Mom’s Frog Birthday Card!!!

Mom's Birthday Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

My Mom’s Birthday was earlier this month and this is the card I created for her! She actually fell in love with this stamp set and bought it for me so we could make cards with it. (Note to self: we still need to do that!) 🙂 I started playing with this set and the New Watercolor Pencils and knew this was the perfect set for her card!

I started with a Crumb Cake card base and then I layered a piece of Old Olive cardstock (4″ x 5-1/4″) on top. I took a piece of Whisper White (3-3/4″ x 5″) and lightly brushed over it with a Sponge Dauber. I did Old Olive Ink on the bottom 1/3 and Pool Party Ink on the upper 2/3. I added a strip of Pool Party Stitched Satin Ribbon across the top and then added it to the card base. For the frog and the wheelbarrow, I stamped them from the You’re Sublime Stamp Set in Basic Gray onto scrap Whisper White.

Wheelbarrow, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I used the Watercolor Pencils to color in a bit and then I took a Blender Pen and swirled around to move the color and fill in! Once it was all colored, I fussy cut out both images and adhered them to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Lil Froggy, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the greeting, I stamped it from the Number of Years Stamp Set in Old Olive Ink. I punched out the greeting with the Decorative Label Punch. Then I sponged the edges with Pool Party and added it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals too! I love it! I think it turned out perfectly. My Mom loves nature and has a huge garden. This was fabulous!

Do you like making cards specifically for a special someone or do you just make general cards for everyone?? Let me know in the comments below!

Birthday Balloons!!!

Posted on

Blue.Green Balloons, www.LaurasStampPad.com

A new year has begun and that means Birthdays will happen!!! I love sending Birthday Cards because it is the one event that we all partake in!!! I tend to struggle with man card since I love PINK and flowers and bling but this one is perfect!!!

I started with an Emerald Envy card base! Then I took a piece of Whisper White measuring 4″ x 3″ and punched the right side corners with the Corner Rounder Punch. I stamped the balloons from the Balloon Adventures Stamp Set in Pacific Point Ink and Emerald Envy Ink. I stamped the strings of the balloons in Basic Black Ink. I made this card first but since I have made a few more and I like the squiggle string better for this card. It makes the strings not look so straight and blah. I added this piece to a Emerald Envy card base in the middle of card. Then I added a piece of Party Animal Designer Series Paper measuring 1″ x 5-1/2″ along the left hand side of the card. This covers the gap between the edge of the card and the balloon piece! Then I added some Emerald Envy Taffeta Ribbon around the card and tied into a knot. The ribbon goes to the inside of the card! For the greeting, I stamped it in Pacific Point Ink onto Whisper White. I punched it out with the Decorative Label Punch. Then I punched out another one in Pacific Point and cut it in half. I put half behind the upper part of the greeting and the other hand on the lower portion of the greeting. Check out the video on how to do it here! I added the greeting to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Love it!!!

Birthday Calendar for Every Year!!!

Posted on

Birthday Calendar, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I was asked about a Birthday Calendar from a friend of mine and was super excited to make one for her! I have one that Stampin’ Up sold many years ago. IT IS AMAZING!!! A Birthday Calendar has all the dates for each month listed on each page. You will just put the name of the person on the date of their month on the correct month – August 29th – Laura Borchert!!! 🙂 The awesome thing about this calendar is that you can use the same one each year unlike a traditional calendar that has the days of the week on it since those change!!!

I created a Template in Microsoft Word but just adding numbers and lines, 2 columns per page. You can check it out here – Birthday Calendar Template! You will need to print 6 of these! You will then cut the Whisper White cardstock in half at 4-1/4″ and punch a hole in the upper left corner with the 1/8″ Handheld Punch! To get them all in the same spot, I punched 3 or so all together, then I took one of those and laid it on 3 others to use as a template of where to punch the next set. To put them all together, I just used a metal ring but first we have to decorate!!!

Q1, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I used the Perpetual Birthday Calendar Stamp Set for all of the months and decorations! I used the banner from the Thoughtful Banners Stamp Set. I used the coordinating Duet Banner Punch to punch them out (Bundle & Save 10%). I used Pacific Point for January, Real Red for February, and Pumpkin Pie for March!

Q2, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I used Emerald Envy for April, Wisteria Wonder for May, and Crushed Curry for June! Each of the images can be mixed and match to whatever you wish to use for that month!

Q3, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For July I did the banner in Real Red and the stars in Night of Navy Ink. Of course I had to do Melon Mambo flowers for August because that’s my birthday month!!! September was done in Mint Macaron.

Q4, www.LaurasStampPad.com

October was done in Cajun Craze Ink. November was done in Cherry Cobbler Ink and December was done in Cherry Cobbler Ink and Garden Green Ink.

All the Seasons, www.LaurasStampPad.com

It’s so much fun to just randomly stamp all over in different patterns! So colorful and cheerful for all year long! Now all you need to do is add in the names of all of your loved ones!!!

You should totally try this out or even make them for your friends and family. They are a great gift!! Let me know if you have a Birthday Calendar in the comments below!

On the 4th Day of Stamps-Mas!!!

Posted on

On the 4th Day of Stamps-Mas, my true love gave to me…..Punches!!!! Quick and simple tools to grab, punch, and then your done! We are talking about paper punches and not a fist punch! 😉

4th Day of Stampsmas, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I love punches because they are super simple to use. I have them within reach of my stamping desk so I can stamp my image and grab and punch and go! You always want to stamp first so you can line up the image in the punch rather than punching first and trying to get the stamped image lined up. If you stamp crooked, just punch crooked! There are lots of punches that match stamp sets but there are also great ones to use for greetings too! Some of the punches create borders and some of them make the perfect tag for you! There are also 2 hand-held punches which punch out circles for looping ribbon through or any other technique!!!

My favorite punch is the Decorative Label Punch which is second from the left! I use that punch ALL THE TIME!!! You can check out a video on how to layer with that punch here! I also love making Punch Art which you can check out all of those fabulous creations here!

What is your favorite punch?? Let me know in the comments below!

Baby Bears!!!

Posted on

baby-boy-bear, www.LaurasStampPad.com

These little bears are just so cute and cuddly!!! Who didn’t look at this card and not go, “Awwww”??? You know you did!!! I have been loving the Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamp Set and coordinating Cookie Cutter Builder Punch (Bundle & Save 10%). It is just so much fun and the images are so adorable!!!

I started with a Pool Party card base! Then I took a piece of Whisper White (4″ x 5-1/4″) and stamped the greeting from the Greatest Greetings Stamp Set in Bermuda Bay Ink. Then I adhered it to the card front. I stamped the teddy bear from the Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamp Set in Bermuda Bay Ink once for the darker full strength bear and then again without going back to the ink for the lighter bear. I stamped the face in Basic Black Ink and then punched him out with the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch. I stamped the ears the same way and fussy cut those out but leaving them connected together down underneath them. This way the spacing is correct and I have something to add adhesive onto to stick to the back of his head. You can see this in action here! I added the bears to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals for a little 3D look and because I love dimensionals. I finished off the card by creating a bow with the Bermuda Bay Stitched Ribbon and adding it to the card front with a Mini Glue Dot. Just precious for a baby boy!!!

baby-girl-bear, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Of course I just had to do a baby girl card as well! I used Blushing Bride for the card base and Melon Mambo for the teddy bears. I stamped once in full strength and then again without going back to the ink pad. I used the Melon Mambo Stitched Ribbon for the bow! It would be perfect to make a few of each of these up to have on hand for sending out throughout the year!!! Just precious!

You can check out more samples using the Cookie Cutter Bundle here, here, and here!

Little Gingerbread Man!!!

gingerbread-man, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Isn’t he adorable? I love the little gingerbread from the Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamp Set! This is one of my favorite sets from the Holiday Mini Catalog! You can check out more samples here, here, and here!

I started with a Crumb Cake card base! Then I took a piece of Real Red cardstock measuring 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ and placed a piece of the Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper (4″ x 4″) on the lower portion. I stamped the greeting from the Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamp Set in Real Red Ink onto Whisper White cardstock (1-1/2″ x 4″). I attached the greeting to the top portion of the Real Red. Then I used some of the Candy Cane Lane Designer Washi Tape to place over the overlap of the greeting and designer paper. I just wrapped the ends around to the back side. Now you can add this piece to your card front. For the little gingerbread man, I stamped him in Chocolate Chip Ink onto Whisper White cardstock. Then I punched him out with the coordinating Cookie Cutter Builder Punch (Bundle & Save 10%). I also stamped the bow in Real Red and punched it out with the same punch. I added the bow to the gingerbread man with a Mini Glue Dot and I added the gingerbread man to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I finished off the card with a little heart to share a little more love in the card. I used the Real Red Enamel Shapes for the little heart! Love it!!!
