Holiday Joy!!!

Plaid Christmas Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card is perfect for the Holidays! I know many people send Christmas Cards, Holiday Cards, or Winter Cards….mostly because the timing of sending the card out can vary due to busy schedules! I can totally understand that!! So let’s get started!

I started with a card base of Crumb Cake and added a piece of plaid designer paper from the Merry Moments Designer Series Paper Stack! This stack is great for making multiples because you get 48 Sheets 6″ x 6″ Sheets (24 each of 2 double-sided designs). For the greeting, I used the Berry Merry Stamp Set! The Joy and Pine Cone were stamped in Crumb Cake, the Ribbon in Cherry Cobbler, and the Leaves in Mossy Meadow! I did the bow first and then the other items….this was best for spacing. For the leaves, I stamped once fully inked and moved it a smidge and stamped it again without re-inking. This gave a variation of colors and texture! I die-cut this out with the Deco Label Framelits and layered it onto a Cherry Cobbler frame as well. I added the greeting to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals! I finished it off with a few Pearls! Love it!! Of course if you are making multiples of this card, be sure to do it in assembly line fashion. Do all of the stamping, then all of the die-cutting, then assemble each piece as a time.

How many cards do you create each year for the Holidays…5? 500? None?? Let me know in the comment below!!!

Quick and Simple Flower Card!!!

Simple Flower Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

If you are looking for a quick and simple card that you can create with any color that you have on hand, this is the card for you!!! I love flowers and tend to make lots of cards with flowers on them. The Flower Patch Stamp Set has been lots of fun to play with and make lots of different styles of cards! You can check out this card that I posted earlier that was more detailed but this one we are going for quick and simple.

I started with a Whisper White card base. Then I took a piece of colored cardstock (I used Rose Red) measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″ and adhered it to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals. With another piece of Whisper White (3-3/4″ x 5″), I stamped the stem in Cucumber Crush and the flowers in Pink Pirouette and Rose Red. I adhered this to the card front and added some Rhinestones to the centers of the flowers! It is as simple as that.

You could use any color combination that you have available at home – yellow/orange, shades of purple, shades of blue, shades of red. The possibilities are endless. If you wanted to make the card even simpler, you could stamp right onto the Whisper White card base and not have the extra layers. If you wanted to step it up a little, you could stamp a greeting and punch it out, add ribbon, stamp the flowers onto scrap white and then use the coordinating Flower Fair Framelits (Bundle & Save 15%) to cut them out and pop them up. There are lots of different ways you could create this card. Let me know how you would create this card in the comments below – just like mine or with some stepped up items???

Rustic Wonderland!!!

Happy Tuesday!!!! That means I have a fabulous technique to share with you today and this one is super simple and yet packs a punch of a fabulous look!!! Have you ever wanted a forest look or a bouquet of flowers look but don’t know how to achieve it without making your card look like a mess of stamping?? I have the tip (or technique) for you!!!Silent Night Rustic Forest, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I love the look of this card with the forest behind the greeting. There is texture and variation which makes it look more real. The trick is stamping multiple times without going back to the ink pad!!!!

SUPPLIES INCLUDED: Wonderland Stamp Set, Linen Tread, Deco Labels Framelits, Big Shot, Markers

I started with a Garden Green card base measuring 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″. Then I took a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″ and stamped with Garden Green the trees from the Wonderland Stamp Set which is in the Holiday Mini Catalog. Stamp the trees down and then move it a little to the left or right and also a little up or down to give that variation and stamp again. Then move a little again and stamp again. I stamped 3 times in different spots with each inking. Be sure to go both side to side and up and down so the trees aren’t just straight across! It’s as simple as that. Then I wrapped some Linen Thread around the trees twice and tied a knot. For the greeting, I took a piece of scrap Very Vanilla and stamp the greeting from the Wonderland Stamp Set in Chocolate Chip. Then I took the pine branch and inked it with my markers. This allowed me to color the pine cones Chocolate Chip and then branch Garden Green! I stamped it once above and once below the greeting. Then I lined up the Deco Labels Framelit (2nd smallest one) and die cut it out. I then used the 2nd largest one to cut out a Chocolate Chip frame to layer with my greeting. I added this greeting piece to my card with Stampin’ Dimensionals!! I love it!!! It would make a great Man Card as well with a Birthday greeting…..might be making a few of those as well!!! 🙂

Do you want to see this technique in action? Here is a quick tutorial showing your how to create that forest look my stamping multiple times before re-inking. Be sure to give it a thumbs up if you like!!!

What is your favorite stamp set from the Holiday Mini Catalog or what would you like to see a sample using? Let me know in the comments below!!!

Golden Butterflies!!!

Blue Butterfly, Gold Foil, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I absolutely love the Gold Foil overlay on these butterflies. It is stunning, adds a little bling, and really makes the butterflies POP!!! You could create this card in various colors and use either the Gold Foil or Silver Foil!!!

I started with a Marina Mist card base and stamped on a piece of Whisper White measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. The dots from the Watercolor Wings Stamp Set were stamped in Night of Navy. I stamped them a few times before returning to the ink pad so I could have a variation of colors! The greeting Just Because is from the A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Set! For the butterflies, I stamped them on a scrap piece of Whisper White with the following colors – 1. Soft Sky, 2. Marina Mist, & 3. Night of Navy! The butterflies are amazing just like that but I added the foil overlay to really make them pop. I used the coordinating Bold Butterflies (Bundle & Save 15%) and the Butterflies Framelits for cutting out the butterflies and the overlays!!! Of course the butterflies were added to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals and I adhered the overlay with a Mini Glue Dot down the center of the butterfly! Simple and fabulous!!

Emboss Cut Out, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card is perfect for any occasion. You could make multiples of this one in no time at all and add a greeting as you need them! It also uses up scraps which I love!!! I started with a Soft Sky card base. Then I took a piece of Very Vanilla measuring 4″ x 5-1/2″ and placed the 2nd to smallest Deco Labels Framelit in the center and ran it through the Big Shot. You can use this cut out piece for another project and take the frame and place it into the Elegant Dots Embossing Folder and run it through the Big Shot again! Now this is your frame for your card!!! I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere it to my card front BUT FIRST I laid it on the card front to stamp my greeting and then added the dimensionals and adhered it on. I did it in this order so that 1. I could line up my greeting in the center but not have it raised up hitting my greeting and 2. If I messed up the stamping, I could get another card base and try again without having do re-create the frame again as well. I used the greeting from the Thoughts & Prayers Stamp Set with Chocolate Chip ink. To finish off the card, I punched out Calypso Coral, Wisteria Wonder, and Daffodil Delight with the Petite Petals Punch and flower from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch! I added little Candy Dots to the center of the flowers coordinating with each color!! I really like how the Candy Dots add that little pop! Love it!!!

Fluttering By, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I told you I have had lots of fun with the Watercolor Wings Stamp Set and here is another amazing creation!!! Click here to see more! I love how the Fluttering Embossing Folder gives a great background texture to the card! I embossed a piece of Daffodil Delight measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″ and tied a piece of Pumpkin Pie Cotton Ribbon around the lower half. I adhered this to a Whisper White card base! For the butterflies, I used a scrap piece of Whisper White and used the Watercolor Wings Stamp Set. I used Pumpkin Pie for the first stamp, Tangerine Tango for the second, and Real Red for the third one. Then I used the coordinating Framelits to cut these out. You can Bundle & Save 15% when you purchase the Watercolor Wings Stamp Set and Bold Butterfly Framelits! You will also want to get the Butterflies Framelits! Together both sets of Framelits will cut out both the big and little butterflies as well as do the overlay which I will be showing some fabulous samples with that next week! 🙂 Stay tuned!!!

Technique Tuesday – Flower Patch!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! That means I have a fabulous technique to share with you today!!! This one is super exciting because it is all about FLOWERS!!! I just love stamping flowers and creating beautiful cards with them!!! This is no exception!!!!

Flower Patch, www.LaurasStampPad.com

How amazing is this card with the depth and texture and colors of the flowers??? I love it!!! So let’s get started on how it was created!

SUPPLIES NEEDED: Flower Patch Stamp Set, Flower Fair Framelits (Bundle & Save 15%), Elegant Dots Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Inks & Pearls

I started with a Whisper White card base measuring 4-1/4″ x 11″ and embossed the card front with the Elegant Dots Embossing Folder. Then I took scrap Whisper White pieces and stamped the flowers. The large center flower was done in Blackberry Bliss and the medium flower was stamped in Tempting Turquoise with the other flower on top stamped in Island Indigo. For the smaller flower, I stamped it in Crushed Curry and the smallest one (layered on top of the yellow flower) was stamped in Tangerine Tango. For the leaves, I stamped the solid image in Cucumber Crush and stamped off, then I took the center piece and stamped it also in Cucumber Crush (no stamping off). I then used the coordinating Flower Fair Framelits to cut out each of the flowers and leaves!!! No fussy cutting necessary here. I have a couple tips for finding the correct way to line up the flowers without spinning them around and around to see how it lines up. Check out the video below for those tips!! 🙂 I adhered the flowers with Stampin’ Dimensionals to a piece of Tip Top Taupe. I also stamped the greeting and little mini flower from the Flower Patch Stamp Set in Tip Top Taupe. I love it!!! You could use so many color combinations for a card like this and each one would be stunning I’m sure!! I finished off the flowers with a few Pearls!!! Love it!!!

Here is the Video Tutorial showing the tips and tricks on stamping and using the Framelits!!! I will be posting the other samples from the video soon! Be sure to subscribe to my blog in the upper right corner so you don’t miss out!!

Cherry On Top Paper, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Okay I promise after this one I will take a break on using the Friendly Wishes Stamp Set! 🙂

This fabulous card uses a Cucumber Crush card base and a strip of Cherry On Top Designer Series Paper along the left hand side. It is 2″ x 4-1/4″! There are so many fabulous patterns that you could use for this card which makes making multiples a breeze! For the greeting, I stamped the center greeting from Friendly Wishes in Watermelon Wonder and then die cut it out with the Deco Label Framelits! Then I added the little swirls on the sides. NOTE: Do Not Rock with this stamp because you will end up with a line. (See sample below.) The swirls were stamped in Bermuda Bay! Then I brushed the edges with Crushed Curry and a Sponge Dauber! I added the greeting piece to my card with Stampin’ Dimensionals!

Friend Everyone Wishes They Had, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Here is another sample using a different piece from the Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack! You can see the swirl on the right hand side has a little line from rocking on it! See we all make mistakes and that’s okay! “Made with Love, Not Perfection!” One of my stamper girls told me that and I love it and use it all the time! Love it!!!

You can check out more samples using the Friendly Wishes Stamp Set here, here and here! Also, be sure to check out my YouTube Channel! I posted a video about how to re-ink your ink pads!!! Enjoy!!!

Purple Perfection!!!

Purple Flowers, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I just can’t get enough of those little purple flowers! They are just so adorable and make a wonderful background to this card! Pink ones would be cute….oh or orange ones! You could really do this card in any color! I used Rich Razzleberry for the card base. Then I took a piece of Whisper White cardstock measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″ and stamped the little flower from the Friendly Wishes Stamp Set all over. I did color the flowers and leaves with my markers. Since the image is so small it was pretty quick! You could even stamp twice with each inking and get lots of shades of purple and green! For the greeting, I stamped it in Rich Razzleberry onto a scrap piece of white and punched it out with the 2-1/2″ Circle Punch and layered it onto a Cucumber Crush Deco Label piece. I added it to my card with Stampin’ Dimensionals! Love it!!!

What color would you use for this card? Leave me a comment down below!

Using the flower from the same stamp set, I stamped it on the top and bottom in Stazon Black ink. Then I colored in the flowers and leaves with Watermelon Wonder and Cucumber Crush Markers. Then I punched this out with the 2-1/2″ Circle Punch and layered it onto a piece of Cucumber Crush that was die cut with the Deco Label Framelits!
