Technique Tuesday – Snow Friends Framelits!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! That means I have a fabulous technique to share with you today! Today we are playing with the Snow Place Stamp Set and Snow Friends Framelits (Bundle & Save 15%)! How cute is this???

Snow Friends, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I have had even more fun with the little penguin but that little snowman is beyond precious!!!

SUPPLIES NEEDED: Snow Place Stamp Set, Snow Friends Framelits, Big Shot, Scrap Whisper White, and Inks

You can use those Whisper White scraps that you have been saving….surely I’m not the only one! 🙂 I stamped the Penguin, Snowmen, Arms and Top Hat from the Snow Place Stamp Set all in Basic Black! You can stamp with fairly close together but not sure close that the Framelits would cut into the one next to it. I stamped the ear muffs in Melon Mambo and the bow tie in Bermuda Bay. There are lots of other pieces in this set that you can use as well – buttons, hat, scarf, snowcone, and more! Once you have everything stamped, it is time to cut the out with the coordinating Snow Friends Framelits. I used the Magnetic Platform when die cutting these out because the frames stick to this platform and don’t move around. You can cut lots of pieces out at one time, as long as they all fit on the platform! This way you don’t have to run it through the Big Shot millions of times! Once you have your pieces cut out, it is time to assemble!!!

I started with A Bermuda Bay card base and layered on some Basic Black. Then I took a piece of Whisper White cardstock and ran it through the Big Shot in the Softly Falling Embossing Folder! I added this to the Basic Black layer and then built my snowmen on the card. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals of course! For the nose, I used a Pumpkin Pie Marker to color it in!

This is the penguin that I created in the Video Tutorial! You can check that out below or by clicking here! Don’t forget to give it a thumbs up if you liked it!

Which do you prefer the snowmen or the penguin? Let me know in the comments below!

Boughs & Berries!!!

Posted on

Embossed Border, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I love embossing folders and how they make a simple card have such an amazing WOW factor! It is so simple to emboss and doesn’t require extra layers or embellishments! I used the Boughs & Berries Embossing Folder from the Holiday Mini Catalog on this card. For the greeting, I used the Berry Merry Stamp Set. You can Bundle & Save 15% when you get the set and embossing folder together. I stamped the greeting in Basic Black, holly berries in Real Red, and leaves in Garden Green. I stamped the holly randomly around the greeting and then die cut it with the Ovals Framelits! I thought it looked a little plain to just add it to the card front so I used a scrap piece of Silver Foil Paper that I had to layer the oval on. I used the Banner Triple Punch to create those banner ends! Of course the greeting was added to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals! I really liked the way it turned out with the Silver Foil. It added a little shine and texture! This would be a great card to send out any time from November through January since it is very festive and not holiday specific!

Pretty Petals Card Bundle!!!

Posted on

Yesterday, I shared how you can create over 70 cards with the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack! Today I’m going to share the rest of the samples with you! Let’s get started!

Anniversary Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card uses a Very Vanilla card base. The Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper measures 5-1/4″ x 4″. You can get 1 of these from one sheet and since there are 4 sheets of this pattern, that is 4 cards like this! The Designer Series Paper is layered onto a piece of Mint Macaron measuring 5-3/8″ x 4-1/8″. I wrapped some Silver Baker’s Twine around the paper and tied it into a knot. The greeting is from the Blessed By God Stamp Set and die cut with the Lots of Labels Framelits. I added the greeting to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. To finish it off, I punched out two hearts with the Itty Bitty Accents Punch and added a Pearl to one of them. It is so cute! It makes it look like a little girl and boy heart! This card would be perfect for an Anniversary or Wedding!

Polka Dots and Flowers, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card uses a Very Vanilla card base. The Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper measures 5-1/4″ x 4″. The flowers were stamped with the Flower Shop Stamp Set and punched out with the coordinating Pansy Punch (Bundle & Save 15%). I added the flowers to the card with Stampin Dimensionals and placed a few Pearls on each! I love the Black and White with a pop of color!

Lace - Thank You, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card uses a Mint Macaron card base. The Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper measures 4″ x 5-1/4″. You can get 1 of these from one sheet and since there are 4 sheets of this pattern, that is 4 cards like this! I cut the piece of Designer Series Paper into 2 pieces so I could use both sides. The top piece measures 4″ x 2-1/4″ and the bottom measures 4″ x 3″! I tied a bow at the spot that the paper comes together with the Mint Macaron Lace Trim! I stamped the greeting from the One Big Meaning Stamp Set!

Pretty Petals Thank You Note, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card uses a Calypso Coral card base. The Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper measures 3-3/4″” x 5″. You can get 1 of these from one sheet and since there are 4 sheets of this pattern, that is 4 cards like this! With some of the leftover pieces, I cut a 3-3/4″ x 1″ piece to use the back side pattern for that strip under the greeting. The greeting is from the Tin of Cards Stamp Set and punched out with the 2″ Circle Punch, then layered onto a 2-3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch! I layered the Designer Series Paper onto a piece of Old Olive measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″ and then placed the other strip of Designer Series Paper on the top half! I attached the greeting with Stampin’ Dimensionals. To finish it off, I tied a bow with some Calypso Coral Seam Binding!

Butterfly Moment, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card uses a Calypso Coral card base. The Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper measures 5-1/4″” x 4″. You can get 1 of these from one sheet and since there are 4 sheets of this pattern, that is 4 cards like this! I stamped the butterfly from the Watercolor Wings Stamp Set in Pink Pirouette, Calypso Coral and Watermelon Wonder! Click here to see a tutorial on that. I die cut the butterfly with the coordinating Bold Butterfly Framelits (Bundle & Save 15%). I added the butterfly to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals and finished it off with a few Pearls. For the greeting, I used the Watercolor Wings Stamp Set on a Lots of Labels Die Cut that was cut in half. I love the look like it’s a banner coming down!

Cross Over Happiness, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card uses a Very Vanilla card base and I embossed the front with the Elegant Dots Embossing Folder. The Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper measures 2″ x 5″ and 3″ x 2″. You can get 1 of the big pieces and 3 of the little pieces from one sheet. Since there are 4 sheets of this pattern, you can create at least 6 cards like this! The larger piece is layered on a piece of Pacific Point measuring 2-1/4″ x 5-1/4″ and adhered to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The smaller piece of DSP was layered onto a piece of Old Olive measuring 3-1/4″ x 2-1/4″. I added this to the card with Stampin Dimensionals on the right hand side and Snail Adhesive on the left. This makes it level across! I stamped the greeting from the Blessed By God Stamp Set and punched it out with the 2-3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch! I finished the card off with a few punched flowers with the Petite Petals Punch and some Black Candy Dots! TIP: If you run out of black, you can always color in any of the other colors with a black sharpie!

All is Calm, All is Bright!!!

All is Calm, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Oh my goodness, this card is the most amazing thing ever! I fell in love instantly. I’m not sure if it’s the Black and White concept or that pop of gold with the star or just everything! I LOVE IT!!! I thought I was going to cry when I showed it to my husband and he said, “Ehhh.” I couldn’t believe it but all my stampers at class loved this! I got this idea from Leena Girsa so a big thank you to her! Now let’s get started!

I started with a Whisper White card base and ran the front side through the Elegant Dots Embossing Folder. This is one of my favorite folders right now! I love it! For the trees, I stamped them from the Wonderland Stamp Set in Basic Black on a piece of Whisper White measuring 3″ x 4″! I did not stamp multiple times to create the forest look like I did in this sample. I just inked it up and stamped it; inked it up and stamped it! I layered this onto a piece of Basic Black measuring 3-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ and added it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the greeting, I stamped it from the Wonderland Stamp Set in Basic Black onto a piece measuring 3/4″ x 5″ (the 5″ is after the banners were punched). I used the Banner Triple Punch to get those fabulous banner ends. You will want your cardstock to be longer than 5″ since some will be cut off when you punch it! That amazing star was created with the Stars Framelits. I used the 2 smallest stars and laid them both on the Gold Glimmer Paper and ran it through the Big Shot. This creates that amazing frame. So now to assemble the greeting and star onto your card, you will add Snail adhesive to the left and middle of the greeting banner and adhere it over the trees. Then you will add a little bit of Snail or a Mini Glue Dot to one of the inner “V”‘s of the star and place it on the top side of the banner and then pop a Stampin’ Dimensional onto the far right end of the banner. You need that dimensional to balance out the greeting banner since the trees are popped up. The dimensional also holds the star in place as well. BONUS: That little gold star that came from the center can be added to the inside of your card for a little pop! I love it!!! You could also save it for another project! 😉 Oh how I just love this card!

Do you love it or are you just Ehh about it? Let me know in the comments below!!! For more samples using the Wonderland Stamp Set, click here or here!

Ornament Elegance!

embellished ornaments, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I love using Purple for Christmas Cards. It might not seem traditional but it is just so elegant and royal and I love that!!! What color do you like to use the most for your Holiday Cards? Let me know in the comments below!

I started with a Blackberry Bliss card base. Then I took a piece of Whisper White measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″ and stamped the trees from the Wonderland Stamp Set (or you could use the Lovely As A Tree Stamp Set) in Mossy Meadow and stamped them at the top left corner. I stamped a few times before returning to the ink pad and made sure to take in different angles and some far in and others just a little bit. This will give a full tree look! I stamped the greeting from the Embellished Ornaments Stamp Set in Mossy Meadow in the bottom right corner. For the ornament, I took a piece of white scrap paper and stamped the ornament in Blackberry Bliss. Then I die cut it with the coordinating Thinlits – Delicate Ornament Thinlits (Bundle & Save 15%)! I also die cut the little ornament cap from the Thinlits using Silver Foil Paper. I used a Mini Glue Dot to attach that to the top of the ornament. I tied a bow with the Silver Ribbon and attached it with a Mini Glue Dot as well. I added the ornament to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals! 🙂 I love it!! It is very simple and elegant!!

Adding Texture with Gold Thread!!!

Posted on

Gold Stripes & Thread, www.LaurasStampPad.com

See those little bits of Gold Metallic Thread peaking out adding texture and catching your eye! Isn’t it fabulous? I have seen this style in lots of cards lately and couldn’t wait to try it out! I really like the look….on some cards better than others, so I think that I still a little rusty on the look! Now let’s get started on this card!

I started with a Whisper White card base and then added a piece of 4″ x 5-1/4″ Winter Wonderland Specialty Designer Series Paper! I love those gold stripes! For the greeting, I actually cut out the label first rather than stamping first since the flower is large and needs to fall off. I used the Lots of Labels Framelits. I stamped the greeting from the Reason for the Season Stamp Set in Basic Black! Then I stamped the poinsettia border in Basic Black, the petals in Real Red, and the leaves in Mossy Meadow! If you wanted the all of the flower on your card, you could use one of the larger labels. Don’t forget that when stamping the flower you want to take note of where the arrow (or nubbin) is so that you can line up the petals and leaves easily as well. Now for the thread, wrap the Gold Metallic Thread around your hand 8-10 times or however many you wish! 😉 Now slip the loops off and place them on the back of the greeting label. Slowly move the loops around so they are popping out on all sides of the label. Add Stampin’ Dimensionals in various areas to hold your loops down and pop up your greeting. You all know how I love my Stampin’ Dimensionals so I used 5 on this one I think! I found out that I like the ends of the thread tucked in rather than sticking out. If you want them tucked in be sure to stick those under a dimensional. Now you can peel off the backs of the dimensionals and add it to your card front. I love it!!

If you would like to see the thread placement in action, you can check out the Video Tutorial below or click here. Be sure to give it a thumbs up if you liked it!

Have you tried this technique? What is your favorite thread or Baker’s Twine? Let me know if you have any tips to share on this technique in the comments below!

Technique Tuesday – Snowflake Background!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! You know what that means!!! I have a fabulous technique to share with you today…just in time for the upcoming season – winter. I don’t want it to come any sooner so let’s not mention it! 🙂
Penguin in Snow, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Aren’t these little penguins holding hands just adorable?? I love them but they are not the technique that I’m sharing with you today. I’m going to show you how to create that beautiful snowy background without stamping on your penguins! Let’s get started!!!

SUPPLIES NEEDED: Background Stamp of Choice, Scrap piece of paper

I started with a card base of Basic Black and then cut 2 pieces of Whisper White measuring 4″ x 5-/4″. One of the pieces is for the inside of the card and the other piece is for the card front. I started by stamping the little penguins and accessories from the Snow Place Stamp Set (Bundle & Save 15%). I stamped the penguins in Basic Black and colored in the beak and feet with a Pumpkin Pie Marker! I did a Real Red bow tie and Rich Razzleberry earmuffs! Now for the snowflake background that I stamped in Pool Party. Stamp all around and be sure to fall off of your piece of paper for a continuing look. Be sure not to stamp on top of your penguins. When you get close to them, use a scrap piece of paper to cover them up like a mask. This will give you the chance to stamp between and above them for a really snowy look! Simple and yet fabulous!!! I love it! For the greeting, I stamped it in Pool Party from the Snow Place Stamp Set and then die cut with the Lots of Labels Framelits and the Big Shot! I brushed the edges of the greeting with a Sponge Dauber! I added some White Glitter Ribbon along the top and placed the greeting over top with Stampin’ Dimensionals! You could change this card up a bit and stamp the number of penguins in your family or you could spread them out and add as many as you would like! I love it!

If you would like to see a Video Tutorial of the background technique, check out the video below or click here! Don’t forget to give it a thumbs up if you liked it!!

Fabulous Flower Bouquet!!!

Purple Flower Bouquet, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card is absolutely FABULOUS!!! Flowers, Purple, Rhinestones, and a scroll-y font greeting!!!! I big puffy heart love love love this card! I could do this card in any color and love them all!!! They would make a great gift for someone! You can check out more samples using this stamp set here and here! Now let’s get started on how I created this beauty!

I started with a Wisteria Wonder card base! I then took a piece of Whisper White cardstock measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″ and stamped the leaves in Cucumber Crush on the lower right corner and upper left corner! The leaves and flowers came from the Flower Patch Stamp Set and die cut with the coordinating Flower Fair Framelits (Bundle & Save)! I stamped the scallop large flower and the pointy flower in Wisteria Wonder on scrap Whisper White cardstock and then die cut them out!! Click here to see a Video Tutorial that shows tips on how to line up your Framelits! I stamped the smaller flower in the center of the pointy flower with Elegant Eggplant! I added these flowers to my card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals to really make the flowers pop and have dimension. Once I had the flower in place, I stamped the little mini flowers all around in Elegant Eggplant and the greeting from the Tin of Cards Stamp Set in Wisteria Wonder! To finish it off, I added Rhinestones to the center of the big flower, the I in Birthday, and randomly placed around the other flowers! I love the random bling!!! It really grabs your attention from all angles! Love it!!!

What color would you use to create this card?? Let me know in the comments below!

Christmas Wreath Card!!!

Posted on

Wreath on a Brick Wall, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I love this card for the Brick Wall! I know that isn’t the focal point but it really sets the scene!!! I went a little outside the box for this card and love the way it turned out!!! Let’s get started!!!

I used a card base of Basic Gray cardstock. Then I took a piece of Real Red (4″ x 5-1/4″) and ran it through the Big Shot with the Brick Wall Embossing Folder. Using my Sponge Dauber, I rubbed side to side and up and down with Cherry Cobbler Ink. This gives darker edges to the brick and a little texture. It really makes that brick wall come to life! Love it!!!! Then I cut out a wreath from the Wonderful Wreath Framelits in Mossy Meadow. Using one of the branch stamps from the Berry Merry Stamp Set and Mossy Meadow Ink, I stamped it all over the wreath. I stamped a few times before going back to the ink pad and I stamped in all directions to give a full look to the wreath! I added the wreath to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals and then attached a Whisper White Satin Stitched bow with Mini Glue Dots!! For the greeting, I stamped Merry Christmas in Mossy Meadow from the Snow Place Stamp Set! I used a 1″ piece of Whisper White for the greeting and punched the ends with the Banner Triple Punch! I curled the ends by running them over a Bone Folder like curling ribbon. The greeting was added to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals as well! 🙂
