I Am A Beautiful Butterfly!!!

Posted on

Do you know what movie that is from??? I Am A Beautiful Butterfly…..if you guessed A Bug’s Life you are correct! I love that movie and the crazy little bugs. Butterflies are all I seem to want to play with right now! The Butterfly Gala Stamp Set, Duet Butterfly Punch, Botanical Butterfly Designer Paper…..I want it all!!!

Today, I am honored to be a part of the Blogging Friends Blog Hop!!! I created this amazing butterfly card and the other Blogging Friends used it as inspiration for their project. Be sure to check out all of their links below to get more fabulous ideas on how to use these products!

I Am A Beautiful Butterfly, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Isn’t this card so fabulous with that POP of purple and those gorgeous butterflies??? I am love love loving it! Also, I always love playing with some back and white! The super cool thing about this card is that the butterflies were already colored for me so that was super easy!!

I started with a Basic Black card base. Next, I took a piece of Highland Heather (4″ x 5-1/4″) and ran it through the Big Shot in the Swirls & Curls Embossing Folder. This makes such a fabulous background and gives the card a lot of texture. I added this piece to the card front! Then I took a strip of the Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper which is a Sale-A-Bration item and punched some banner tips using the Banner Triple Punch! The strip measures 1″ x 3-1/2″. This was added to the card front on the right side edge. For the greeting, I stamped it in Memento Black Ink from the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set. Then I punched it out with the Pretty Label Punch! This was then layered onto a Daffodil Delight 1-3/4 Circle. The greeting was added to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals for even more texture!

Now for those amazing butterflies that I didn’t have to color. Those were actually punched out with the Butterfly Duet Punch from the Botanical Butterfly Designer Paper! How cool is that??? No fussy cutting or coloring! The piece of paper has LOTS of butterflies with different color combinations to pick from. I went with these two so that I could keep with the purple theme. Another tip: the butterfly hiding behind the greeting isn’t even a full butterfly. I really loved the coloring on that one but it was at the edge of the paper so it wasn’t a complete butterfly. No need to fret, I just make it look like the butterfly was flying up from behind the greeting! It looks fabulous and you would never know! After all, we can’t waste designer paper! Am I right?

Happy Wednesday!!! Do you follow someone on social media and you feel like you really know them? When talking to someone, you say oh yeah my friend recommends this or my friend did this but really you have never met that person. This happens to me all the time. I have lots of friends like that. If I am your friend that way, give me a shout out in the comments and know I would LOVE to be your friend online and maybe even some day in person! This card says it all….So Glad We Are Friends!!!

Grapefruit Grove Foil Paper, www.LaurasStampPad.com

How fabulous is this card?? The Lovely Lipstick and Grapefruit Grove color combination is amazing and oh that shiny foil! YUM!!!

I started with a Grapefruit Grove card base measuring 11″ x 4-1/4″. It opens like a book. Next, I took a piece of Lovely Lipstick and ran it through the Big Shot in the NEW Dot To Dot Embossing Folder. I layered this onto the card front! Then using the Stitched Rectangles Framelits, I die cut some of the Sale-A-Bration Grapefruit Grove Foil Paper and Whisper White cardstock.

So Glad We Are Friends, www.LaurasStampPad.com

The greeting is from the Incredible Like You Stamp Set from the Occasions Mini Catalog. I stamped  it in Lovely Lipstick Ink towards the right side. Then I layered the white rectangle onto the foil piece. Then using the Lovely Lipstick Ribbon from the All My Love Ribbon Pack, I looped a knot and placed it on the rectangles. Then I simply secured the ends on the back with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. Finish off adding more dimensionals so it’s even and I added this to the card front!

Stitched Rectangles, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Season of Good Cheer!!!!

Posted on

Happy feels like Monday!!!! Today is the last day of the Holiday Mini Catalog!!! Lots of the items are on sale too! If you are one of those who gets their Christmas Cards done in January with the sale items from the season, click here to get these goodies!

Season of Good Cheer, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I just couldn’t not show this beautiful card. It’s got flowers, shimmer, and warmth! I used the First Frost Bundle and Frosted Floral Designer Series Paper!!! I love it so much and it’s great for lots of occasions!

I started with a Mint Macaron card base. Then I layered on a piece of the Frosted Floral Designer Paper (3″ x 4″) on the bottom. One the top, I embossed a piece of Tranquil Tide with the Layered Leave Embossing Folder and added it to the card front! For the decoration, I stamped the flowers in Blackberry Bliss from the First Frost Stamp Set. The awesome thing about die cutting these flowers out is that there are multiple flower dies in the set. This cuts your die cutting time down a lot!!! The leaves were punched using the Sprig Punch and Leaf Punch.

Sprig & Leaf Punch, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the greeting, I used the layered greeting dies from the Frosted Bouquet Framelits. The greeting was stamped in Blackberry Bliss from the First Frost Stamp Set. I added the greeting with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then I added all of the leaves around the greeting with Snail Adhesive. Don’t worry if there isn’t a ton of adhesive on the leaves because the flowers will also hold them on. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals on the flowers. To finish it off, I placed an Epoxy Dot in the center of the flowers for a little more shimmer!

I love this color combination so much!!! Also, I have to mention that the First Frost Bundle is not retiring with the Holiday Mini Catalog. You can still purchase this bundle through the Occasions Mini Catalog!!! Woot Woot!!! Check out the supply list for this card below! Don’t forget that the Occasions Mini Catalog and Sale-A-Bration begin tomorrow!

Turning Rhinestones into Gold Jewels!!!

Posted on

You all know how I love my bling! Rhinestones are my go to and I’m a silver girl but sometimes you need some gold. Today, I’m going to show you how turning rhinestones into gold jewels is possible too!

Turning Rhinestones into Gold Jewels, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Look how fabulous that is!!! I simply took the Daffodil Delight Dark Stampin’ Blends Marker and brushed over the Rhinestones. Now you have gold rhinestones! It’s perfect!!! Here is a card that I used both silver and gold for!

Golden Merry Christmas, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I started with a Whisper White card base and layered on a piece of Blackberry Bliss that I ran through the Big Shot with the Tufted Embossing Folder. This gives a little texture to the background. Next, I stamped the tree from the Timeless Tidings Stamp Set on a piece of Shaded Spruce cardstock. I stamped three times before going back to the ink for a variation in color. Also, I stamped up, down, up, down for a forest look. Then I added this piece to the card front.

Silver Merry Christmas, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Using some Gold Glimmer Paper and Silver Glimmer Paper, I added a little strip down the bottom of the Shaded Spruce. This is a great way to use up scrap pieces. It just needs to be long enough to stick out the ends of the greeting. The greeting was stamped in Blackberry Bliss from the Timeless Tidings Stamp Set. To finish off the card, I added some Rhinestones to the silver one and some gold Rhinestones to the gold one. I love it!!!

Happy New Year Greeting, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Here I stamped the inside of the card with the New Year greeting and a little mini forest! Super cute! Do you prefer Gold or Silver?? Let me know in the comments below! If you would like to recreate this card, click on the supply list below!

Detailed Deer Card #2!!!

Posted on

Yesterday I shared a fun card using the Dashing Deer Stamp Set and coordinating framelits. Today it’s Part 2 and I’m sharing this detailed deer card!!! Click here to check out yesterday’s card if you missed it!

Detailed Deer Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

As you can see, this card is very similar in style to the one I shared yesterday! It also uses the same greeting banner, stamped floral image, same colors, and the die cut deer!!! This makes creating multiples for Christmas super easy!!!

I started with a Whisper White card base and stamped the floral image on the top and bottom in Merry Merlot Ink. All the images for this card are from the Dashing Deer Stamp Set from the Holiday Mini Catalog. Next, I added a little strip of Gold Glimmer Paper just above and just below the stamped image. Then I took a piece of Whisper White (4″ x 4″) and embossed it with the Swirls and Curls Embossing Folder. TIP: I know this is sort of after the fact but I wanted to point out that you might want to hold the glimmer paper up to the embossed cardstock to make sure they line up correctly. While I cut the glimmer paper and white paper at 4″, after embossing it the white paper pulled in a smidge. This made the glimmer paper hang out a little on the ends and I had to trim it off.

Swirls & Curls Embossing Folder, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Now for the focal point, I added Stampin’ Dimensionals (and some Mini ones) to the die cut Gold Foil Deer. I used the coordinating Detailed Deer Framelits (Bundle & Save 10%). Next, I added the greeting which was stamped in Merry Merlot Ink and punched with the Banner Triple Punch. It also was added with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Be sure not to put a dimensional on the spot that it sits on the deer because then it would be popped over the deer. So I just added some to the top side of the greeting and let the bottom rest on his back.

I love that I was able to cut a lot of the same dimensional and colors for 2 cards and get 2 different looks. It’s also super fabulous to not have to waste Gold Foil Paper because this deer isn’t really the easiest for minimal waste. This way I’m using the deer and the negative image for 2 cards. It’s perfect!!!!

If you would like to create these 2 cards, click on the supplies below to get started. Also, you can check out the video tutorial here!

Die Cutting Multiples At Once!!!

Posted on

Time is precious and we all need more of it, am I right??? Today, I’m sharing with you a way for die cutting multiples at once and we can all thank Stampin’ Up for this amazing way!!!

Die Cutting Multiples At Once, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card was easy to create because the Frosted Bouquet Framelits have 2 of these small flower framelits in the set. I was able to die cut all of these flowers with just 2 cranks through the Big Shot! I love it!!!

For the card base, I used Pear Pizzazz card stock. Next, I took a piece of Whisper White (4″ x 5-1/4″) and embossed it with the Tufted Embossing Folder. Then I added it to the card front. Using the Frosted Bouquet Framelits, I die cut the label and stamped the greeting in Pear Pizzazz Ink. The greeting and flowers are all from the First Frost Stamp Set. Don’t forget to Bundle & Save 10% when you purchase the stamps and coordinating framelits. The greeting was added to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

First Frost Stamp Set, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the flowers, I stamped them in Blackberry Bliss on Whisper White and die cut them with the coordinating framelits. Since there are 2 framelits for the small flower, it was very quick to die cut all of these flowers! For the leaves, I stamped the leafy image from the stamp set all over in Pear Pizzazz Ink. Then I used the large leaf/stem image and die cut over the top. These two images do not coordinate but rather give a fun look of green and white on the leaves. You could always use the coordinating stamps and dies for a perfect look. Using Mini Glue Dots, I added the leaves around the greeting and then placed the flowers over the top with Stampin’ Dimensionals. To finish it off, I added Frosted Epoxy Droplets which I’m super loving. Those things are so pretty and really pop!!!

Check out more samples using the Frosted Floral Suite here and here! I’m really loving this suite! What about you? Let me know in the comments below!

Stamping Perfect Corners!!!

Posted on

Have you ever wanted an image stamped in each corner of your greeting or project?? Today, I’m going to show you how stamping perfect corners is super easy!!!

Stamping Perfect Corners, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I am loving this greeting and it was super simple to create. Remember last week when I showed you Stamping In The Round??? We are going to use that same template for this card only this time, you just need to use the squares and not the diamonds on it!

I started with a Blackberry Bliss card base. Next, I took a piece of Tranquil Tide measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″ to layer on top. First, I thought it looked too plain so I stamped on it with the greenery from the Peaceful Noel Stamp Set in Tranquil Tide Ink. See the photo above. My husband said it looked too busy so I tried embossing it with the Swirls & Curls Embossing Folder. See the photo below!

Swirls & Curls Embossing Folder, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Next up, I layered on a piece of the Joyous Noel Designer Series Paper measuring 4″ x 3″. I used this size so I could use up every inch of the fabulous paper! 🙂 I like to add this layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals when placing it on an embossed layer because I feel it is more secure in the grooves of the embossing. If you go the stamped route like the sample up top, you could layer it on with regular Snail Adhesive.

Fill The Season With Happiness, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Using a 2-1/2″ square, I placed it in my Stamparatus using the square template. Then  I stamped down the corner image in Sahara Sand Ink. After, I stamped, I rotated the cardstock around so a new corner was placed in the stamping spot and stamped it down. Once I had  all 4 corners stamped, I stamped the greeting in the center. All of these images are from the Peaceful Noel Stamp Set. I layered this piece onto Blackberry Bliss.

Using the Tranquil Tide Mini Ruffled Ribbon, I flipped over the greeting and placed it along the top with a bit of a tail hanging off. I secured it in place with Stampin’ Dimensionals placed half on the ribbon, half on the cardstock. Then I looped it around and secured the middle section, made another loop and ran the the last piece across the bottom. Once you have it all set, add a few more dimensionals for good measure. After all they are on sale today and I love them so much! Then I added this piece to the card front!

Which One? www.LaurasStampPad.com

Which one do you like best – embossed or stamped Tranquil Tide layer?? Let me know in the comments below!

Technique Tuesday – Diagonal Opening Card!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! You all know that means I have  a fabulous technique to share. This one might not look cool at first but then when you open it you see the real magic. This diagonal opening card is super fun and the concept can be used for any occasion! Thank you to Margo Richardson for the amazing idea!

Diagonal Opening Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

At first, I started with an 8-1/2″ x 11″ piece of Melon Mambo cardstock. I cut it diagonally from corner to corner using the Stampin’ Trimmer. Be sure to take out the scoring blade and then the cutting blade will be able to cut all the way to the ends. Also, I recommend starting in the middle and pushing out so you don’t crinkle the corner tips. Now that you have a giant triangle, it’s time to score. Score from the corner over to 5-1/2 and up at 4-1/4″. This will create a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ rectangle in the corner and two triangle flaps to fold over as the front of the card!

Triangle Card, www.LaurasStamppad.com

Now that we have the card base complete, it’s time to decorate. For the inside, I added a piece of Whisper White measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. I stamped the greeting and flower from the Abstract Impressions Stamp Set. The greeting was done in Pacific Point Ink and the flower was Melon Mambo and Emerald Envy Ink. On the left hand side, I added a little piece of the leftover designer paper after cutting for the front of the card!

Roses, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the front of the card, I cut a piece of Pacific Point cardstock into a 4″ x 5-1/4″ rectangle and then I cut it diagonally from corner to corner. Making sure I had the piece positioned correctly for the card, I placed it into the Garden Trellis Embossing Folder. There is only one way the paper can go on the card. These weird sized triangles make that part a little tricky. Using a piece of the Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper, I cut it into a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece and cut it diagonally as well. The greeting was stamped in Pacific Point Ink from the Abstract Impressions Stamp Set. I inked it up and then stamped three times without going back to the ink for that ombre look. This piece was layered on to a scallop square of Silver Foil Paper. I used the Layering Squares Framelits to die cut it out. When placing the greeting on the front of the card, be sure to only add adhesive to the one corner/triangle so that it doesn’t seal the card closed! 🙂

Can’t Get Enough Copper!!!

Posted on

Gold and Silver have been around forever….or it seems to me…but Copper hasn’t and I’m in love lately. I just can’t get enough Copper!!! The Joyous Noel Suite from the Holiday Mini Catalog has lots of Copper!

Can't Get Enough Copper, www.LaurasStampPad.com

The texture and shine on this card is just stunning!!! It’s also super easy too so this is a great card to make multiples for Christmas!

I started with a piece of Sahara Sand for my card base. Next I cut a piece of Copper Foil Paper (2″ x 5-1/4″) and ran it through the Big Shot with the Tufted Embossing Folder. That is my favorite folder right now as well as the Tin Tile Embossing Folder. Also, I cut a piece of the Joyous Noel Designer Series Paper in a 2″ x 5-1/4″ piece. Then I added these two pieces to the card front!

Copper & Merlot Ribbon, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the greeting, I die cut an oval using the Stitched Shapes Framelits and stamped the greeting in Merry Merlot Ink. The greeting is from the Peaceful Noel Stamp Set. I added the greeting with Stampin’ Dimensionals. To finish it off, I added a bow made from the Merry Merlot and Copper Ribbon. I used Mini Glue Dots to adhere it to the card front. I love it!

Are you a big Copper fan? Or do you like Silver or Gold more? Let me know in the comments below!

Galvanized Metallic & Tin Tile!!!

Posted on

Happy Friday everyone!!! Yesterday, I shared the Tin Tile Embossing Folder and all the cool looks with foil paper. Today, I’m sharing a sample I created using the Galvanized Metallic & Tin Tile Folder!!!

Galvanized Metallic & Tin Tile, www.LaurasStampPad.com

That Galvanized Metallic Paper goes together so well with Rich Razzleberry, don’t you think??? I love it!!!

I started with a Mint Macaron card base measuring 4-1/4″ x 11″. Then I cut a piece of the Galvanized Metallic Paper (4″ x 3″) and ran it through the Big Shot with the Tin Tile Embossing Folder. I just love how detailed and fabulous that folder is. Check out yesterday’s post to see more on this folder. Also, I cut a piece of the Country Lane Designer Series Paper (4″ x 3″). Next, I added these to the card front, overlapping them in the center. You can decide which one you want to show more.

So Grateful For You, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the focal point, I started by adding some Tear And Tape all along the overlap of the papers. Then, I pressed some Rich Razzleberry Velvet Ribbon into it and trimmed the ends flush with the edge of the cardstock. Normally I wrap the ribbon around to the back but I thought I would try something new this time since this ribbon is a little more bulky and I didn’t want it to cause a bump.

The greeting was stamped in Rich Razzleberry from the Country Home Stamp Set from the Holiday Mini Catalog. Using the Everyday Label Punch, I punched it out and added it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals for a smooth look over the ribbon and they press into the embossed image better. To finish it off, I added some Frosted Epoxy Droplets to the ends. The frosted look goes well with the rustic paper! It’s just perfect!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! I’m super excited because it’s our Annual Family Reunion and I just love weekends full of family time!

Happy Stampin’
