Happy Thanksgiving….and some Reindeer Food!!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!! I love this holiday because it is fairly low key! It’s a great reminder of all of the amazing things we have in our lives and to take a moment to be thankful for them! I am so incredibly thankful for the many blessings in my life including all of you and my stamping business. I get to do what I love every day and it is amazing!!! I hope you all have a wonderful day today and every day!!! Thank you for being you!

I also wanted to share these adorable little things! Remember the September Paper Pumpkin Kit which came with these little test tubes?? I said I was saving those for a special project…..well this wasn’t the one in mind but I love it! I saw these on Pinterest and just had to make some myself. I filled the test tubes with some oats and some Metallic Sequins. Then I created the tags with the Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamp Set and coordinating Cookie Cutter Builder Punch (Bundle & Save 10%). I stamped the reindeer in Early Espresso Ink and added a Red Glimmer Circle to his nose! I used some of the Candy Cane Lane Baker’s Twine to tie it to the test tube! I just think they are adorable!!! Now I still have a few left for yet another project! 😉 What have you done with your test tubes? Let me know in the comments below!!!

Technique Tuesday – Santa’s Reindeer!!!

Happy Tuesday!!! Are you ready for this amazing masterpiece??? I have to say this is probably THE MOST amazing, detailed, stunning card I have ever made in my 12+ years of stamping. Check it out!!!

There are just no words for this card. I honestly don’t think I am going to send it out. I’m going to save it and display it every year ever so proudly. I just love it so much!!! Now let’s get started on how to make it with the Santa’s Sleigh Bundle (Save 10%)!!!

I started with a Night of Navy card base measuring 11″ x 4-1/4″ and a strip of Whisper White measuring 11″ x 1″. Both of these are scored at 2-3/4″ and 5-1/2″ which creates the Z folds! For the panels, I cut Soft Sky cardstock into the following measurements – 4″ x 5-1/4″ and two pieces of 4″ x 2-1/2″. Then I cut Whisper White to layer on top measuring 3-3/4″ x 5″ and two pieces of 3-3/4″ x 2-1/4″. Go ahead and layer the white onto the Soft Sky and then onto the card base. You can stamp the greeting in the upper right corner. I used the one from the Santa’s Sleigh Stamp Set!

Now you can add the Whisper White strip to the bottom of the card. I lined it up with the bottom of the white on the panels. Be sure that you are only adding adhesive to the small flap and half of the long flap. I like to fold it all up and then add the adhesive to the spots showing (see video below). Place it on the card and then you can work on all of the decorations. I added the trees first. I stamped 2 blue trees using the Santa’s Sleigh Stamp Set and die cut them out with the Santa’s Sleigh Framelits (Bundle & Save 10%). I also cut out a tree in Silver Foil Paper! I added two trees to the large panel and one to the middle small panel. Next up are the reindeer. I stamped all of them in Chocolate Chip Ink onto Crumb Cake cardstock. You will need 6 reindeer. I die cut them out. I also die cut the sleigh in Night of Navy, the sleigh overlay in Silver Glimmer Paper, 12 stars in Silver Glimmer Paper (one for each reindeer and a few others to decorate, and a few bows for the presents in Silver Glimmer Paper!

Now to assemble the second Z with the Whisper White strip! All you need to do is take a strip of white scored cardstock and add it to your card opposite folds as the base. Fold it like a Z and the long panel will go across the front (sticking to the left side) and the short panel will adhere to the back right hand side. I used Fast Fuse Adhesive for a strong hold and placed it on the bottom lined up with the bottom of the white panel. I added 2 reindeer to each of the little panels of the white Z fold overlapping them just a little. Be sure that when you add adhesive to the reindeer that you are only adding it on the legs so that adhesive isn’t showing and then glues your card together.

Before placing the last reindeer on, I added the sleigh to the card. I placed the Silver Glimmer overlap onto the navy sleigh with Fine Tip Glue Pen and then added it to the far left of the card. I did trim off a little bit of the sleigh on the bottom rung. Once the sleigh is in place, you can add that final reindeer. Now is also when you will add all of your presents. I stamped the 3 different styles of presents from the Santa’s Sleigh Stamp Set onto Night of Navy and Soft Sky cardstock and cut them out. They are super easy to cut since they are rectangles! Place as many presents as you wish in the sleigh. Then I added the ribbons and all of the Silver Glimmer stars to the card with the Fine Tip Glue Pen. For the reins, I added some of the glue from the Fine Tip Glue Pen to the first reindeer, placed the Whisper White Baker’s Twine down and then added a star. Press and hold for a few seconds and then move to the next one. You could also use a Mini Glue Dot for this part if you wish. Be sure to leave some slack between each reindeer so it doesn’t pull tight when you open the card and so it swags just a bit. I glued the end of the reins under the front of the sleigh at the end. Now you are all set! The most amazing card ever! Yes it is a bit time consuming but it is just so stunning!!! I can’t wait to display mine…..I don’t think I can part with it and send it out.

Awesome OnStage!!!

This past weekend I traveled with my biggest support, my husband to Kansas City, MO for Stampin’ Up’s OnStage Event! It all started on Friday night with CentreStage. I got to see the upcoming Occasions Mini Catalog and Sale-A-Bration Brochure and it is AMAZING!!!! There are so many fabulous new stamps, new papers, new ribbons, and so much more!!! Sale-A-Bration is going to be amazing too! Both of those begin on January 4th so stay tuned! 🙂

I couldn’t believe all the ribbons I had earned over the year. I was blown away but all of them! Thank you to all of you for your support and love. I had my best year yet!

This bag has stolen my heart. I love the colors and the pop of PINK. It has pockets and snaps and everything about it s fabulous!!!

Then of course I had to get photos with the AMAZING Stampin’ Up Corporate Team! Brian Pilling and Pam Morgan were the lucky ones who got to come to Kansas City and be with us and we were just as lucky! They are so amazing and I was giddy to get photos with them and chat a bit! #starstruck

And last but certainly not least……these amazing ladies!!!! I happened to see them in the parking lot of my hotel on Friday night on the way to the festivities. When I got to the Convention Center…..who did I see? This group of ladies!!! I was excited because they seemed to know where they were going and I did not. I asked if they were stampers and they were!! I ended up sitting with them all weekend and enjoyed their company, sharing ideas, laughing, and stamping! I’m so thankful to have met these wonderful ladies and know that I have stamper friends in the middle of Missouri!!! 🙂 Can’t wait to stamp with you all again soon!!

I have been on the biggest high all week long. Amazing people who share my love of stamping. A company that is so thankful for me and all of the demonstrators around the world whether they sell $5 a month of $5,000. I have never felt so appreciated for the hard work that I do! The fun, the laughter, the bonding, and the excitement is so amazing!!! I can’t wait to do it again in April! I would love to have you join me as well! Cut For Christmas!!!

I’m soooo excited to share with you this fabulous new seasonal offer – Cut For Christmas!!! We all know that this time of year can be busy as can be but yet we still want to get crafty, send out cards, and enjoy some “me time.” I am offering 6 different kits that you can purchase to speed all of that up!!!

I do all of the cutting and all you need to do is fold, stamp, and assemble! This is a great way to get those cards done quickly during such a busy time of the year! All cards will be sold in increments of 20. The packet will include all of the pre-cut pieces you will need for the card, envelopes, a color photo, and instructions. Loving Ronald McDonald House!!!

Ronald McDonald House is a house located near a hospital for those with loved ones in the hospital to stay during their time there. The house is like any other house! It has a kitchen, bedrooms, laundry rooms, and so much more. These houses are the perfect support that the families need during this difficult time they are going through. I have had the opportunity to help out at the house near me a few times with preparing meals and donating items. The little blue house sits in my kitchen to collect tabs and every time the house is full I send the tabs as well as the collection of cards to the house. I always mention to my stamp ladies in person, on social media and here that you can donate tabs or cards or anything at all. Here is the collection that I sent off last week. I got an amazing amount of goodies and I’m so appreciative of all of your love and support.

Once my customers works with the blind and therefore does a lot of work with braille. She had some of her students make cards and added in the braille. How amazing?!?!?! I love it!!

Also, I recently attend a demonstrator event where we collected money for Ronald McDonald House and then went shopping for supplies for the house. Look at all of these goodies! I am so proud to be a part of such an amazing group. To know I am making an impact with my cards and stamping is so powerful. Sock Monkey Birthday Card!!!

Here it is!!!! This is my birthday card from my husband! I love love love it. Monkeys are my favorite in any shape or form! I have this on display because I just can’t help but look at it daily! He really did well this year!!!

He used lots of my retired punches – Word Window Punch and Artisan Label Punch. He also used the Ovals Framelits. The balloons were created with the Balloon Bouquet Punch and then he drew the lines with a Basic Black Marker. The Happy and Baby came from the Crazy About You Stamp Set. The Birthday greeting came from the Thoughtful Banners Stamp Set. I love how he looked through all of my stamps to find the perfect greeting! He also used lots of Stampin’ Dimensionals…..you know how I love those! 🙂 You can see some of the other cards my husband has made for me here, here, and here!

And then I got this card…..in the mail on my actual Birthday!!!! Shannon West, from Stampin’ Up, is the one who started the #imbringingbirthdaysback and I got on her list to receive a birthday card from her. I was so excited back in January at the thought that she might send me one so of course I couldn’t contain my excitement when it actually arrived. My heart was racing and I was soooooo giddy!

It is super fabulous and PINK! I just love it and can’t believe how amazing she is to send out 1,363 birthday cards that are all hand made, hand written on the inside, and so amazing. I truly felt touched by this card. After all that is how every hand-made card should make you feel!

These aren’t all of the cards as I have received a few after this photo too! Some are hand-stamped and some aren’t but they are all from friends and family that mean the world to me! Thank you everyone for all of your kind words on my blog, social media, and in person. I had an amazing birthday and look forward to another great year!!!

Birthday Girl Right Here!!!!

Today is my BIRTHDAY!!!! I love birthdays because everyone has one and that is the day you celebrating YOU and the amazing things you are doing each year!!! It is totally worth celebrating!!!

Today I thought I would share a little bit about me by answering some of the following questions! Enjoy getting to know me and my craziness! 🙂

What is your favorite Stampin’ Up! Color? Melon Mambo or Bermuda Bay
What is your favorite Designer Series Paper? Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper
Punches or Framelits? Punches…..I like that I can grab, punch, and go!!!
When you aren’t working/stamping, what are you doing? Watching the show Friends, working out, or spending time with family
What is something that may surprise your followers? I LOVE the Olympics, Rodeos, and Pageants…..like super love!
Besides cardmaking, are you crafty in other ways? NO! I can do a little bit of sewing but it isn’t pretty. I also am not the best house decorator. I just don’t have an eye for that like I do with stamping.

A few other items I wanted to share….

I earned the Stampin’ Up! trip to Thailand this year and I couldn’t be more proud of myself and thankful for all of you!!! YOU ARE ALL AMAZING!!!! Thank you so much!
I am an organizational freak and love to have things in there place and neatly placed. I recently redid my stamp room but still have a few things that don’t have the perfect place just yet. Let me know if you have a fabulous storage idea or organizational idea. I keep seeing all of these DIY with a dresser and making it into a shelf. I also can’t decide whether I want my stamp sets on a shelf or in a drawer…..these are the things I think about all day long! 🙂
I am trying to convince my husband to do stamping videos with me on my channel – Laura’s Stamp Pad. He makes amazing cards like these here, here, and here. Let me know in the comments if you think this is a great idea too!!!
I get really excited about cute or pretty postage stamps and ask for them when I go to my Post Office. I squeal and I think they all think I am nuts at my local Post Office! I’m okay with that! (PS: Love the new pets stamps….except for the snake….anyone want those…..I have been using them for bills only but they scare me.)

Monday Madness!!!

Happy Monday Stampers!!! I’m back to work today after an amazing week at the lake with my family. It was an amazing week or relaxing, soaking up the sun (or trying to hide from it), and making memories. It was wonderful! I’m excited to back “in the office” this week because while the break was nice, I miss my creative outlet and stamping with all of my amazing stampers! The samples, techniques and idea are always amazing and inspiring! I can’t wait to try them out and share them with all of you! The photos above are from the event and showcase some of my Stampin’ Sisters – my upline Meg Loven, who I can’t thank enough for asking me to be a demonstrator over 12 years ago. She honestly changed my life for the better and I can so grateful for that!! 🙂 Mary Ellen Stites and Julie Davison are also amazing stampers who I look up to all the time. These 3 ladies did a lot to coordinate this amazing event. Love them!!! Also, those beautiful giant flowers were created by Mary Ellen and her amazing team!
