Fabulous Friday – Parties & Stamp Room Renovation!!!

Girls Night Out, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Happy Friday!!!! I thought I would bring back a little Fabulous Friday fun!!! This month has been full of fun, excitement, and craziness!!! June started out with the launch of the New Catalog. You can check it out online here or message me here for a copy of your own! I had my new catalog launch parties; aka Girls Night Out!!! I love these events because they are so full of excitement. I have lots of prizes for everyone. There are displays of samples using the new product as well as the new product itself. It isn’t very easy to see but in the 2 photos above, all of the ladies are Ohhh & Ahhh-ing over the Baby Bear Stamp Set. It is just precious! Everyone gets to create 2 projects and enjoy some yummy sweet too! I’m just glad I didn’t melt the cupcakes like last time.

Girls Night Out Cards, www.LaurasStampPad.com

These are the 2 cards that everyone got to make. You can see more information about them here – Flamingo and Polka Dots.

Another exciting….and stressful moment this month is my Stamp Room Renovation. We recently got an IKEA nearby. I have been looking for a better way to store my cardstock and I found these!

Paper Trays, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I have waited a bit to test them out before sharing but I LOVE THEM!!! They are metal and sturdy. The lips are perfect for a label and they slide very well. I do have to say that you can’t stack each shelf full or it will start to bow out a little. I have 2-3 shelves for each color family. This is just part 1.

Part 2: Last Friday, my husband and I were thinking of ways to make more room and change up my Stamp Room. We thought outside the box. We decided a kitchen table with shelves around it was better than my old desk in the middle of the room. Within 2 hours, we found a table on a local Swap & Sell site and brought it home. Saturday was craziness with moving stuff around. I’m not the best decorating but I do like things organized. One of the biggest things that I want to do is label everything with a cute decorative label. Stay tuned as I will post more as I get it finished. If you have any ideas for storage of ribbon, I would love to hear it. Another thing I am struggling with is a spot for my paper cutter. I use to have a cubby in my desk that I slide my Stampin’ Trimmer and Stampin’ Scrub but now that are just on the table. Should I hand a shelf under the table? Ideas? Let me know in the comments below!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! I’ll see you back here on Monday! 🙂

Anniversary Love!!!

Anniversay Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This past Saturday was my 5 Year Wedding Anniversary. You may have heard me say I don’t typically make card specifically for each person. I do pick out specific cards from stash for people though. Well when it comes to my hubby, Brad, I do make it special. We had a busy week last week and on Friday night we both didn’t have our cards. He went shopping for one and said nothing jumped out at him so he was going to make one as well. I said should we go to the stamp room and have a craft night. He said no because you are done so much faster than me…….well that was the jinx he put on me. He said his card was quick and let me tell you I spent over an hour on this one. I was like a kid in a candy store going through all my options and thinking it through like it was a life or death situation. In the end I think it turned out perfect and I love it!

I used Old Olive as a the card base and embossed 3 pieces of Whisper White (4″ x 5-1/4″) with the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder. For the front panel, I tied the knot of Melon Mambo Cotton Ribbon around it and added it to the card base. The other two panels went on the inside. I used the Number of Year Stamp Set and Large Numbers Framelits for the greetings and numbers. Bundle & Save 15% I layered the number 5 on the Decorative Label Punch and added a layer behind it as well to really make it pop. Check out this video on how to create that look! I thought it needed a bit more so I added some flowers using the Petite Petals Punch. The leaves are just 2 of the flower petals……how cute!?!?!?! I added a little Black Candy Dot to the center of the flowers!

Number of Years, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I snapped a picture of the inside before I wrote in it. I did the numbers in Melon Mambo with the Large Number Framelits. I added little banners next to each one with little notes of love on them. I brushed the edges of the banners with my Sponge Daubers in Melon Mambo and Old Olive for more pop of color!!! I really like how it turned out!!!

Domo Anniversary, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Here is Brad’s Card to me! He cheated a little and printed the Domo on the card front. He then punched out the hearts and added them to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The first thing I noticed was the 5 hearts for our 5 year anniversary. Brad said that wasn’t on purpose. LOL I love it!!!

You can check out some of our other cards to each other here, here and here!

Happy 12th Anniversary!!!

Happy Tuesday everyone! We are going to take a mini break on the Technique Tuesday because today is even more special! Today marks my 12th Anniversary with Stampin’ Up! These past 12 years have been amazing. I started out as a demonstrator who was just enjoying the discount on my scrapbooking stuff. I was still in college and loving every minute of it. I graduated college, got a full time job but still enjoyed the creative outlet. I started doing classes in my very small apartment. Thank you to all of those who came because it was tight, the lighting was poor, and the stairs to get up to the apartment were dark. You are amazing for sticking with me! I moved to a bigger, much nicer place. I quit my full time job that was making my life miserable. Now I am doing my Stampin’ Up business full time and I’m happier than ever and enjoying every moment! I love meeting new people. I love the moments that have taken place. It truly has been an amazing 12 years and I look forward to the next 12!!! Thank you to all of my customers, blog followers, and YouTube Subscribers. Thank you to my fabulous upline – Meg for asking me to join you in the fun! Fabulous Friday!!!

Posted on

Happy Friday everyone!!! This has been a fabulous week and I haven’t known what day it is any of the days! I woke up Wednesday thinking it was Sunday and now it’s Friday and I’m like….Really? Already? Do you ever have weeks like that?

Week 1 in March, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Here is a small glimpse of my weekend last week! It was busy and I had the greatest time ever! Friday night was a Ladies Night Out Event at the Library and I got to meet a lot of new people and hang out. I also ate the most amazing lemon cupcake ever. Ohhhh It was heavenly! You know how I love cupcakes! Saturday was an all day crop from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. The latest I have stayed in the past was maybe 7 p.m. At about 7, I told my husband I was going to stay a bit longer and my friend was staying till 11 p.m. but no way could I make it that long. Well I arrived home at 10:30 p.m. and happy as ever! It was just so much fun I couldn’t leave. I got a lot done. I helped others with there scrapbooking needs. I chatted with lots of friends and the day just flew by. It was amazing! I always say Stampin’ Up is my therapy and boy is that ever true!!!

One other thing that I wanted to throw a BIG SHOUT to is UPS!!!! I just love my UPS guy! He probably thinks I’m crazy getting these Stampin’ Up boxes all the time and the fact that I usually am waiting at the door when he arrives. But this guy is so nice and cheerful. He tells me to have a good day every time. He once asked to borrow a pen which was no problem at all. We all have pens laying around, right. The very next day, he brought back my exact pen and a UPS pen! How thoughtful was that?? Then last Thursday, he was delivering my package a little later than usual but that was okay. I jokingly said that if he could bring tomorrow’s package early, that would be amazing. There were some goodies in there I wanted for the Ladies Night Out Event. He laughed and said I’ll see what I can do. He normally arrives between 3-4 p.m. and Friday morning at 10 a.m. my doorbell rang and I screamed! HOW FABULOUS!?!?! Now that is service! 🙂

Fabulous Friday

Happy Friday!!!! I know that Valentine’s Day was last weekend but I thought I would share with you the card I created for my Sweetheart! We have this little toy that we have named Bluepy and he hide him around my Stamp Room. Once I find him, I hide him and then my husbands finds him and hides him. It goes on and on. I thought that would be fun to make for his Valentine’s Day Card! So here it is!!!

Valentine's Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I think it turned out really good! I used Pacific Point Cardstock. The eyes were created with a 3/4″ Circle Punch and 1/2″ Circle Punch. The face was created with a 2-1/2″ Circle Punch and then 1″ Circle Punch and 1-1/4″ Circle Punch. I used the Tree Punch for the ears. I used the Corner Rounder Punch for the body and the legs! The hearts are from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack!

Valentine's Sentiment, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I have told you how much I love the greetings from the Rose Wonder Stamp Set and I thought they went very well for this card as well! The Happy Valentine’s Day greeting is from Teeny Tiny Wishes!

Now I have a fabulous TIP that I would like to share with you!!! I have shown you how I love the Photopolymer Stamps the best because they stick to the clear blocks perfectly and you can see through them! I don’t like that they stain though! I was given a fabulous tip from a fellow stamper and it works amazingly! When you receive you stamps, ink them up really well in a light color like Pink Pirouette. Ink and Stamp and Ink and Stamp. Get that ink all over the stamp. By doing this, you are pre-staining it in a light color so that when you use Real Red or Melon Mambo, it won’t stain in that color. It totally works and I had to share with all of you!!! Enjoy!

Weekly Deals 2.16

Of course it isn’t a Friday without the Weekly Deals!!!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and I’ll see you back here on Monday!!!

Happy Birthday, Brad!!!!

Yoshi Punch Art, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Today is a special day here, it is my husband’s birthday!!!! I love celebrating birthdays because everyone has one and it truly is a day to celebrate life! Each year I like to create a special one-of-a-kind card for Brad. That is because I want it to be special for him and because it isn’t easy so I don’t be making multiples of this one!!! 😉 You can check out some of my past cards here, here, here and here! You can probably see a pattern here – video games!!!

For my Yoshi Card, I used various punches including the 1/2″ Circle (black eye), 2-1/2″ Circle (Nose), X-Large Oval (White eyes and mouth), Large Oval (Eyes, tongue, and bumps on the back of his head), and 2″ Circle (white cheek and green head). I also used the 1/8″ Handheld Punch to create the white dot in the black portion of the eye! While it looks fairly simple to just punch out the pieces and place them down, it sure wasn’t. The placement seemed to take me forever. I did trim some on the eyes as well so make less green along the edges of the eyes! Once I had Yoshi all assembled, I placed him on a piece of Pool Party cardstock. I added a few clouds which I punched out with the Tree Builder Punch! I layered all of this onto a Marina Mist card base!

It may not look exactly like Yoshi but I do know it was made with love and for someone really special. To me, that is all that matters! I thought I would share a little Crafting Q&A with you that I asked Brad.

How Many Stampin’ Up! Color Families Are There? 8….6……4 but that didn’t sound like enough. Final Answer 4!

What is Your Favorite Color? Pacific Point (I’m not surprised, blue is about the only color he wears.)

What is the Tape Runner Adhesive Called? Snail

What is Your Favorite Stampin’ Up Tool? Stampin’ Mist Cleaner Pad (He loves the smell of Stampin’ Mist.)

Hope you enjoyed this!!

Happy Friday everyone!!! It has been a fabulous week for sure! I so love what I do and I love it even more when I can share it with others! The week started out on Sunday stamping Christmas Cards with my Mom! I really enjoy sharing that special time with her and working on cards together. For the most part, she would rather just buy some cards I have already made so these times are really special.

Stamping with my Mom, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I had my Monthly Stamp Class at the Retirement Village in town here on Monday and a Holiday Card Class at the Library on Tuesday! Some of these people have stamped before and enjoy it so much they can’t get enough. I love that but even more I love those first time stampers who are so excited that they actually made a card! That smile and excitement when the ink hits the paper is just amazing! <3 I love every minute of it!

Maryville Library, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I had my Tempting Techniques Stamp Camp on Thursday morning and evening and tomorrow I will be doing a Craft Fair! My heart just might burst with love and excitement! I truly love what I do and you all make me love it so much more!
