Celebrating Memorial Day!!!!

Today, we are celebrating Memorial Day here in the United States! While we celebrate this day with BBQ, relaxing, and maybe even stamping, let us always remember those who have fought for our freedoms. My thoughts and prayers are always with the men and women who have served and continue to serve in our military!

Since this is a day of celebration and fun, I thought I would go with a simple post today. It’s the last Monday of May which means the Retiring Items are almost gone for good. Be sure to check out that list before it’s all gone. Click here to see everything.

Spoiling the Doctors & Nurses!!!

Happy Friday everyone!!! Today, I just wanted to share a little on how we have enjoyed spoiling the Doctors & Nurses at our Baby Ziggy appointments. It’s something that is so small and simple to me but yet I think it makes a great impact on them. We LOVE everyone in the office and really appreciate their kindness and thoughtfulness through this entire pregnancy. We actually enjoy going to each appointment because we get to see our friends! I will miss them once Ziggy arrives for sure! 🙂

Here are 2 of the goodies that we took. I fell in love with Jelly Beans over Easter and thought I would share some! I simply took a cellophane bag and added some Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper to the back with a little stamped greeting. The greeting says You Make Me So Happy but I crossed out me and wrote in Us! The top was tied off with some Lemon Lime Twist Striped Ribbon! This was easy and simple!

The April Paper Pumpkin Kit (check it out here) had those fabulous greetings with You Are a Lifesaver. I took some Lifesaver Mints and added them to a Clear Envelope. Then I just used some leftover twine from the kit to tie around it and add the card. This was a great way to use up those little cards since they were too small to mail and they fit the occasion perfectly!

Apparently I didn’t take pictures of most of the treats we took in. I used the January Paper Pumpkin Kit for our Valentine’s/February appointment. Paper Pumpkin really helped me out with lots of these! I just love how it sets you up for upcoming holidays with time to spare. Rather than thinking what will I do for the occasion that is tomorrow…….the kit comes a month early for that occasion! Click here to try out Paper Pumpkin and see how fabulous it is!

Most of our appointments were in the afternoon but then we got an 8:45 a.m. appointment on Ziggy’s Due Date! Early appointments means breakfast!!!! We took in cinnamon rolls. No, I didn’t make them at home but these cinnamon rolls do hold a special place in my heart. Side story: Every Sunday growing up we would go to church as a family and then go to my Grandparents house afterwards for “breakfast.” This consisted of milk and a sweet (cake, cinnamon roll, etc) for the kids and coffee and a sweet for the adults. We got to play with our cousins and have a good time! My Grandma would make the sweet item about 98% of the time but every once in a while she would buy these cinnamon rolls. I saw them in the store the other day and just had to get some. They were amazing and brought back so many memories. I love and miss you, Grandma!

I hope that this post helped give you some ideas on simple ways you can use your stamping/crafty side to share the love with those around you. We all know the power of a card and how much it can lift someone’s spirits. Little gifts like this can do the same but reach a larger audience – co-workers, nurses, doctors, firemen, teachers, police, postal workers, and so many others. Don’t just stash away your cards and projects, share them with those around you!

Stunning Designer Series Paper!!!

Happy Thursday!!! Today, I’m sharing with you some of the stunning Designer Series Paper coming out in the New Catalog. I love patterned paper as a focal point on my card or project or a nice background. Stampin’ Up does an amazing job at knocking it out of the park with amazing patterns and designs. The bad thing is that the catalog only shows a small swatch so I’m here to help you out!!!

Okay, this paper is a MUST HAVE in everyone’s collection – 2018-2020 In Color Designer Series Paper Stack. It is bright beautiful colors and perfect patterns for so many different occasions. It’s like have a pair of jeans or a classic white shirt in your wardrobe! Polka Dots and stripes and perfect for a simple background or punching out balloons for a birthday card and so much more! I can see me going through lots of these packs of paper. Check out this Video Tutorial to see each sheet in all it’s glory!

This is my favorite so far – Share What You Love Designer Series Paper! This paper has stunning colors, flowers, and a pearlized look. That pearl shine is just amazing. It’s not like a foil but rather a glossy shine with that pearl iridescent look. I don’t know if that’s the best way to describe it but it’s stunning! Check out this video for a full look at each sheet and the shine!

The Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper has lots of fun floral patterns but the other side includes lots of great background and more subtle patterns. This makes the paper very versatile for different occasions. There are also lots of different colors for more masculine and feminine looks. I love flowers so of course I was drawn to this but I’m also loving the new color combinations and can’t wait to play with them! Check out each sheet in the Video Tutorial below!

So Many Ways to One Sheet Wonder!!!

Yesterday I shared with you a 6″ x 6″ One Sheet Wonder idea! Today, I’m sharing more samples using that same template. There are really endless possibilities with whatever colors, paper, and embellishments you have on hand! Check out all of these fun ideas because there are just so many ways to One Sheet Wonder!

I used the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper for all of these which can be used as black and white or colored in. There are lots of ways to color this designer paper like with a Sponge Brayer, Sponge Dauber, Stampin’ Blends, Markers, or Watercolor Pencils! I used Enamel Shapes for the top card and Perfect White Accents for the bottom one!

Any color goes with this style of One Sheet Wonder. I used Island Indigo and Berry Burst for the top card and Soft Sky and Calypso Coral for the bottom one. You can always use whatever you have on hand or whatever color combination you like the most! Also, don’t forget about the 2 different sides of the designer paper too!

I’m really going to miss Crinkled Seam Binding as I love that ribbon so much! The greeting I used for all of these is from the Love What You Do Stamp Set in the new Share What You Love Bundles out this month! You can purchase the stamp set alone starting next month when the New Catalog comes out!

Add in some bling with the Gold Vinyl Stickers from the Eastern Palace Suite. It was fun adding these as borders, accents and even cutting them to get more use. For the bigger images, simply place it down on the edge of the card and trim off the excess. Then use that little piece along another edge or peaking out from the designer paper layer!

Technique Tuesday – 6″ x 6″ One Sheet Wonder!!!

Happy Tuesday!!! You know what that means…..I have a fabulous technique to share with you today! It is a 6″ x 6″ One Sheet Wonder as I know how much you all love One Sheet Wonders!

Quick and simple pattern and super easy to change up the greeting to whatever you need the most. I made up this style of One Sheet Wonder to use up some Designer Paper I had on hand but also ribbon and embellishments! I love how they all turned out. Today, I’m sharing this pattern but tomorrow I will be showing a more options with different colors, paper, and embellishments!

Starting with a 6″ x 6″ piece of Designer Series Paper, cut at 2″. Then trim that 2″ x 6″ piece at 5-1/4″ for a nice long detailed piece which I cut a laying piece to match measuring 5-1/4″ x 3″. Next, with the 4″ x 6″ piece, I cut along the 6″ at every 1-1/2″. This creates 4 pieces measuring 4″ x 1-1/2″ and then I cut layering pieces to match measuring 4″ x 2″. This creates 5 pieces for 5 cards with the only waste being a small 2″ x 3/4″ piece. How amazing is that?? If you are using a 12″ x 12″ sheet, that means you can get 20 cards from the full piece. If you are using a 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper Stack, it’s 5 cards per sheet!

I made up these packets so I could use up supplies and have cards ready to create. I used some Fresh Fig Finely Woven Ribbon and Perfect White Accents for this set of cards! The greeting is from the Love What You Do Stamp Set which is in the Share What You Love Bundles available this month! One ink pad and one stamp set makes these cards even more quick and simple! I love it!

Stuffed Animal Sweetness!!!

Happy Monday!!! Today, I’m sharing this adorable card that is fulled with stuffed animal sweetness. Aren’t these little things just precious?!?!?

While this card did require some coloring, it was a fairly quick and simple card to make multiples of! Probably out of the 3 different baby Thank You notes, this one was the easiest. You can check out the others here and here!

I started with a Whisper White card base. Next, I layered on a piece of Powder Pink patterned paper from the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack (retiring) measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. For the focal point, I stamped the stuffed animals from the Baby Moon Stamp Set (retiring) in Memento Black Ink. Using the Stampin’ Blends, I colored the little ones in. I didn’t really do any special blending, just colored and had fun. I did use both the light and dark marker on the bear for his face. Then I stamped the greeting below the animals from the One Big Meaning Stamp Set (retiring). Finally, I layered this piece onto a piece of Powder Pink and added it to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. You know I need a little texture on my card and I just love Stampin’ Dimensionals. 🙂

Since I made a lot of these, I needed lots of the designer paper. The Fresh Florals pack is perfect because there are lots of sheets in each of the In Colors so I just picked out all of the Powder Pink sheets and used the different designs. So Many Cards for Ronald McDonald House!!!

Happy Friday!!! Another week down and today is Ziggy’s OFFICIAL due date! Woot woot! This date seemed so far away and now it is here! It is crazy how time flies and stands still all at the same time. Hopefully she will be arriving soon! Until then, let’s chat and get through this Friday with some fun! Check out this – so many cards for Ronald McDonald House!!!

After last post about sending off tabs and cards to Ronald McDonald House, I got even more donations. Look at all of these amazing cards! I decided since it was a stuffed box full, I was going to go ahead and send them off rather than hold them till my little Tab House was full again. There are actually a few houses in the St. Louis area so I made sure to pick one of the others. Trying to spread the love and make sure they all have cards for their guests to use while visiting or living there! #sudifferencemaker We all know the power of a hand made card…..or any card for that matter. I love being able to spread the love and I really appreciate you all jumping in too! I thought I would share this fun photo of class where we made the Welcome frames! It was so much fun that evening and as you can see everyone did their frame a bit different but they all look amazing! I love it! This month has been hard not having classes and seeing all of my stampers. I can’t wait to get back into classes after I get my new routine down with Ziggy’s arrival. Avoid Duplicate Stampin’ Up Product With This Tip!!!

Today, I’m sharing a tip to help you avoid duplicate Stampin’ Up product by keeping track of what you have in a quick and simple way. This will also help you when you go to a party or class and you are wondering what you have at home already! We have all been there where we really love something and accidentally buy it twice. I have been tracking my stuff this way for a few years now and it seems to work really well for me!

I simply mark the item in the catalog with a big X when I buy it! Now I understand this might not work for everyone or it might give you heart palpitations to mark up your catalog. You could always go smaller with a little X over the name or writing “have” next to it.

This works for me because:

~I always have my catalog with me so then I know what I have and don’t have.

~This gives a nice visual of the stamps, the name, and the ordering number all in one place.

~There is no need to type up the information on your computer and remember to print it off and stick it in your catalog. Then it falls out and you can’t find the list or you forgot to hit print or just typing out the name isn’t enough for you to know what the item is. When someone asks me about a random stamp set by name, I immediately go to my catalog to see what it looks like. This helps me so much more as I am a visual person!

Another tip I have is to mark all of the items that are retiring when the list comes out at the end of the catalog. Again, I’m a visual person and looking at that long list of items is just crazy to me. I sort the list my page number and go through and mark the items with a different color. My 2017-2018 Catalog is green and red and I wrote with that color in the front so I would know which is which. As you can see in the photo above, No Bones About It is in my collection and it is retiring this month! Both a red and green X makes me sad but I always remember more fabulous goodies are coming out soon so there will be new stuff to play with! 🙂

I hope you try this out and see if it works for you! Of course, everyone has their way of organizing and what works for one might not work for another. I wanted to share mine in hopes to help even just 1 of you out. This works for me and avoids frustration on ordering duplicates and helps me see what I have and still NEED (or want). hehe

Thank You Beary Much!!!

Today, I wanted to share another card that I made for baby thank you notes. This Thank You Beary Much card is just so precious!!! Baby Bear looks so real and soft and cuddly! 🙂

Isn’t this teddy just adorable??? He is a 3 step stamped image but I used the Stamparatus and it was smooth sailing! I love that tool!

I started with a Crumb Cake card base. Next, I took a piece of the Springtime Foils Designer Series Paper from Sale-A-Bration (no longer available) and cut it into a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece. Then, I took a piece of Whisper White measuring 3-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ and stamped the teddy bear from the Baby Bear Stamp Set! I used the Stamparatus for perfect placement especially since I was making multiples. I started with image #3 in Early Espresso Ink. Next, I used Soft Suede for image #2 and then Crumb Cake for image #1 (more solid image).

I was able to do 2 images at the same time and then I ran through for the last stamped bear image. It went fairly fast actually since I didn’t have to focus and line up each bear myself. This way I could watch a movie while stamping or let me mind wander. 🙂 After all, stamping should be relaxing and fun and not stressful! Once the bear was stamped, I layered it onto a piece of Powder Pink cardstock and added it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals for some texture!

For the greeting, I cut out some Powder Pink and stamped the greeting in Early Espresso Ink. Using the Triple Banner Punch, I punched both ends and added a little knot of ribbon. I love that Powder Pink Shimmer Ribbon for a little bit of bling and shine! The greeting was added with Stampin’ Dimensionals too!

Since I made so many of this style of thank you note, I used different sheets from the Springtime Foils Paper Pack. Which is your favorite – dots, stripes, or floral?? Mine is the dots! I just like that random dotted look and the rose gold color! Leave your favorite in the comments below!
