Blooms with Happiness!!!

Happy Wednesday!!! Woot woot for the middle of the week already!!! I hope your day blooms with happiness each and every day!!! This card surely would help, wouldn’t it??

Blooms with Happiness, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Yesterday, I talked about the amazing tip using the Tufted Embossing Folder and here is the card I was using it on! I just love that textured background. It’s subtle but also adds so much to the card!

I started with a Balmy Blue card base. Next, I took a piece of Whisper White (4″ x 5-1/4″) and ran it through the Big Shot in the Tufted Embossing Folder. Then I added this to the card front. For the focal point, I cut a piece of Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper into a 3″ square. That means you can get 16 of these from one sheet of paper! The Whisper White piece measures 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″.

Tulips In a Vase, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Now here comes the tricky part….but don’t worry I did the leg work for you. After four tries, I nailed it! 🙂 First, I stamped the greeting from the Varied Vases Stamp Set in Rich Razzleberry. Then, I punched out the vase using the coordinating Vases Builder Punch with some scrap paper. This will be your guide for stamping the stems. Place the scrap vase on the white square above the greeting but not so high that you don’t have room for your flowers. Next, I stamped the stem and leaf in Old Olive Ink.

TIP: Since the stems and leaf are so long/big, you might need to place a scrap piece of paper down to mask the vase so that you don’t have a stem popping out the side of your vase. To achieve this, I placed a larger scrap piece over the scrap punched vase and made marks on the paper on either side of the vase lip. This helped me know that I needed to stamp the stems inside that area so that it would fall inside the vase.

Vase Masking Tutorial, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Once the stems and leaf were stamped, the rest is easy. Simply stamp the vase in Balmy Blue onto scrap Whisper White and punch it out. The tulips were stamped in Grapefruit Grove and punched out. I stamped the outline in full strength and the inside image stamped off once for a lighter shade. Using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals, I added these to my project. I off set the two squares for a fun little look and finished off the card with a few Share What You Love Pearls.

Don’t forget the Buy 3, Get 1 Free Designer Series  Paper Sale going on this month. The Tranquil Textures Designer Paper that I used for this card is one of the select packs!! Click here to see them all!

Technique Tuesday – Tufted Embossing Folder Tip!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! Today, I have a super cool Tufted Embossing Folder Tip! When I realized this cool little tip, I was super excited….maybe too excited! It’s the little things in life! 🙂

Tufted Embossing Folder Tip, www.LaurasStampPad.com

When I was using the Tufted Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to create a card, I noticed this line! At the bottom of the folder, there is a line straight across. If you line up your cardstock with that line, your embossed image will be straight on your cardstock. How cool is that?!?!?! MIND BLOWN! This little line made it really easy and quick to pop in the cardstock and go.

Simply place the cardstock into the folder. Line up the edge of it with that line and squeeze the folder on the other end. This will hold the cardstock in place as you pull your fingers out. Place it in the Big Shot and crank crank crank! Since this is one of the Textured Impressions Folder, the layers are as follows:

Multi-Purpose Platform – if it is the older style with the hinges, open up Tab #2. If it is the newer style, leave off the Adapter layer.

Embossing Folder with cardstock inside

One Standard Cutting Pad (clear plate)

I hope you found this super helpful!! Let me know if you get excited by the little things like this! Also, let me know if you have found little tricks to your favorite stamping tools. I would love to hear them!

Words Are Never Enough!!!

Posted on

I think this is why I’m a hugger….words are never enough. 🙂 Hand shakes are weird for me. I just prefer to hug! Also, there is nothing better than a hug to warm your heart and make you smile. That is unless it’s from a complete stranger or lasts too long and then it can get a bit awkward. We have all been there!

Words are never enough, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card is perfect for when you want someone to know you care but you just don’t know what to say. Change up the greeting and it would make a great man card too. I love the simplicity of the trees and twine.

I started with a Crumb Cake card base measuring 4-1/4″ x 11″. Next, I took a piece of Whisper White (4″ x 5-1/4″) and started stamping the trees from the Rooted In Nature Stamp Set. I started at the top with stamped off once Mint Macaron and did 5 across. Be sure to stagger the trees so it looks more random and like a forest. Then I did full strength Mint Macaron. After that I did the same with Tranquil Tide – stamped off once first and then full strength. You could always stop there and add a greeting. I wanted a little bit of texture on the card so I popped a few trees up. Simply stamp a few on scrap cardstock and die cut them out. I used the coordinating Nature’s Roots Framelits (Bundle & Save 10%). I popped these up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Thinking of You, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the greetings, I stamped them in Early Espresso Ink. Both the front greeting and inside greeting came from the Rooted In Nature Stamp Set. I thought a few trees on the inside of the card would look cute too! After adding the Whisper White piece to the front of the card, I tied some Linen Thread around the card and into a bow. I love the rustic look of this thread and it passes for masculine cards. My husband says foo foo ribbon and bows is not considered masculine. Sometimes I still sneak it in with navy or green colors otherwise I stick to Linen Thread.

There are so many amazing Stampin’ Up colors! What’s Your Favorite Color?? This is a bit of a hard question for me as there are so many I love and even that changes through the seasons!

What's Your Favorite Color, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Look at all of the pretty colors!!!! What are your favorites? Do you like a few from each color family or just love the entire collection?
Mine has always been the Brights Collection. I love bright colors because they are so cheery and make me happy! This is also why I’m loving the In Colors now too! Look at those amazing colors. There are a few in the Subtles that I use all the time like Pool Party and Calypso Coral and I’m loving the new ones like Mint Macaron and Highland Heather. The Regals I use more in the Fall and Winter and I’m so excited to have Blackberry Bliss back! I have never been a huge fan of the neutrals because I’m not a fan of the color brown. I do love Crumb Cake for a neutral base with things and of course there is a need for these on certain images. I’m still not sure I can get on board with Merry Merlot, Mossy Meadow and Night of Navy being a Neutral but we will get there. Who else is with me there???

Technique Tuesday – Simple One Sheet Wonder!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday, everyone!!! Technique Tuesday is back this week! Woot Woot! Today’s I’m showing your this Simple One Sheet Wonder with a 6″ x 6″ piece of Designer Series Paper!!!

Simple One Sheet Wonder, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I started out making this simple, yet fun card using the 2018-2019 In Color Designer Series Paper Stack. I love the monochromatic look and it makes for easy stamping with just one ink pad. The card base is Whisper White measuring 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″. Then I layered on a piece of the Designer Paper measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. Next, I tied some Whisper White Classic Weave Ribbon around the card and into a knot. Using the Accented Blooms Stamp Set and coordinating Tailored Tag Punch, I created the greeting. I popped the greeting up with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. This is a quick and simple card.

In Color One Sheet Wonder, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I realized  I had a leftover piece measuring 2″ x 6″ so I created this little card. Again, I used a Whisper White card base. Then I cut the Designer Paper down to 2″ x 5-1/2″ and added it to the top. I tied the ribbon around and stamped the greeting directly to the card front. My husband said I should have popped up this greeting as well. It would make it pop more and give the card some texture. I finished the card off by adding a few rhinestones.

Love You Always, www.LaurasStampPad.com

There are 2 little pieces leftover. One measures 3/4″ x 4″ and that strip I added to the inside of the card for a little decoration. The other one I tossed since it was just 2″ x 1/2″. That is the only bit of this paper that wasn’t used though which is pretty awesome!

June 2018 Paper Pumpkin!!!

Posted on

The June 2018 Paper Pumpkin Kit was super fun and easy even though it took me like 3 days to put it together between baby snuggles, feedings, and napping! 🙂 It seems everything takes longer to do now that Baby Claire is here! It was still great to enjoy some crafting time where I didn’t have to think of the idea or haul out a mess of products.

June 2018 Paper Pumpkin Kit, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I always need Birthday Cards and I love these colors together as well! The cake with the strawberries on it is super cute!!!

Broadway Star, www.LaurasStampPad.com

The first set of 4 cards have these fun greetings with cakes as the decoration. The one thing that I found odd was that the black and white layer that the greeting is on is popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then the Hooray sticker goes on top and it hangs off. This is kind of odd because then the sticky is floating out there or dropping down and sticking. I think I would have put it all flat and just popped up the cake if I hadn’t put the dimensionals on first. Also, this photo doesn’t show it but each of the dots around the greeting gets a pearl on it and wowza does that make it POP! I love it!!! There were extra cakes and candles so I added those to the envelopes and insides of the cards!

You Did It, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For this one, the banner with the stars was stamped. I tried to do this is a nice pattern but that was hard. For the most part I stamped down the banner and then did the next row. This was a bit all over but after assembling the cards, you can’t really see the pattern or any mistakes so it’s all good. I had leftover balloons so I added them to the envelopes! The little gold sequins all around make for a fun pop of bling that I like!

Which one is your favorite?? Let me know in the comments below!

Broadway Bound Specialty Designer Paper!!!

Posted on

Who loves Black and White with a POP of color??? I sure do and the Broadway Bound Specialty Designer Paper is amazing! It has that black and white and the color pops are PINK….Eeeeee…..and Green and Gold! Bling Bling!

Broadway Bound Designer Series Paper, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Look how pretty it is!!! One side of each of the sheets has gold foil on it! This makes it hard to decide which side to use for sure! Thank goodness there are 2 sheets of every pattern so then I can use 1 sheet for one side and the other sheet for the other side! These patterns are great for Birthdays and Anniversaries. I think the black and gold would be perfect for like a 25th or 50th wedding anniversary. The numbers would be perfect for a little one’s birthday. The gold, black, and silver dots would be perfect for Graduation or New Years. There are just endless possibilities!

Coloring with the Accented Blooms Stamps!!!

Posted on

Today, I’m coloring with the Accented Blooms Stamps! This set is so much fun because I love the flowers and how the greeting fits right in. You can also use the greetings alone for another project. This set coordinates with the Tailored Tag Punch!

Coloring with the Accented Blooms Stamps, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I started with a Crumb Cake card base. Next, I stamped the leaves along the edges in Old Olive Ink. Be sure to go close to the edge so that your focal point doesn’t cover up the leaves when you go to add that on. Then I stamped the floral image in Memento Black Ink and colored it with Stampin’ Blends Markers. I’m so excited to have even more colors of Blends in this New Catalog! 🙂

Once the flowers were all colored, I stamped the greeting in the middle. If you are afraid that you might mess that part up, you can always stamp it first. I know I did mine after the fact because I couldn’t decide which color to use! My husband said go with Bermuda Bay. Another great way to get that image perfectly lined up is to use the Stamparatus! That tool is amazing and works perfectly every time! I added this layer to Old Olive cardstock. Then to attach it to the card front, I used Stampin’ Dimensionals. On the right side, I added a loop of Burlap Ribbon. To attach it, I simply placed the loop down and added Stampin’ Dimensionals over the top. It stayed nice and secure!

What colors would you use for the flowers?? Let me know in the comments below! Want to recreate this card? Click the items used in the photos below!
