Friday Favorites Of The Week!!!

Posted on

Happy Friday everyone!!! Today, I’m sharing some of my Friday Favorites of the Week today!!! Then let’s head into the weekend and dream of warm Spring days! Who’s with me???

Friday Favorites of the Week, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I’m loving Lovely Lipstick…..no shock there as I love pink! This color is just jumping out at me for every project I go to create. The Dot To Dot Embossing Folder is my favorite. It’s so classic and can be used for lots of occasions. The different sizes and patterns make it really pop! The Stamparatus Bag is my new favorite bag/tool. I have just been so impressed by this bag lately. It’s so big and can hold so much whether it is the Stamparatus or even just stamps, ink, and a project. It’s super cute and strong and has a shoulder strap as well as little handles. If you have a Stamparatus and want cute storage, I highly recommend it. If you want something to put a project in to take with you on a trip or to get your oil changed or anywhere else you want to stamp, I highly recommend it!

Then last but not least my favorite is snuggling little Claire in that gray fuzzy blanket! I bought that gray/white blanket to take to the hospital as I love a soft blanket and it would help to calm me and give me something to snuggle. It was just that and I loved it. After we got home, I used it in the chair in the nursery that I nurse Claire in. Soon after she fell in love with it and now I’m pretty sure it’s not my blanket any more. She loves it as much as I do but who wouldn’t? It’s sooooo fuzzy and soft! There is nothing better then snuggles with her and the blanket. Some days I put her down for a nap and go to my Stamp Pad to work and  other days I just hold her and snuggle. 🙂

Let me know what your favorite things are right now in the comments below!!!

Laura’s Quick Tips: How Much Ribbon Do I Need??

Posted on

Today, I’m sharing another one of Laura’s Quick Tips!!!! Since ribbon is my favorite embellishment for sure, I used it for almost all of my project. How much ribbon do I need is a question I get asked a lot. Let me show you my trick for that…

Laura's Quick Tips How Much Ribbon Do I Need, www.LaurasStampPad.com

The way to know how much ribbon you will need when tying a knot around something is to simply wrap it around. Take the ribbon and go across the front, around to the back, back around to the front and across. The two ends of the ribbon should be going in opposite directions across the front. Now you can cut your ribbon off the spool and tie it into a knot. There will be some excess ribbon that you will need to trim off but very minimal. Of course this may seem a bit confusing which is why I posted a video below for you to see!!!!

January 2019 Paper Pumpkin – Be My Valentine!!!

Posted on

I always love getting the January 2019 Paper Pumpkin because it always sets me up for Valentine Treats! As always I’m going for Auntie of Year and love to spoil my nieces and nephews with fun treats for the holidays! Paper Pumpkin always has me covered!!! This year it is the Be My Valentine Kit and it is CUTE!!!!

January 2019 Paper Pumpkin Kit, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Are these not the cutest little things ever??? Those little chameleons melt my heart! Also, the greeting One in a Chameleon is just the best! These little pillow boxes hold just enough chocolate for a sweet treat but not so big that you are spending a fortune on candy! That’s the perfect amount right???

Once in a Chameleon, www.LaurasStampPad.com

There are 24 boxes in this kit which is a TON! I don’t have that many nieces and nephews so I am going to make a few to pass out to my babysitter, the person at the Post Office, my UPS driver, etc. Then I’m going to take the leftovers and make them into cards to use for kid’s birthdays! There are blue boxes and pink boxes depending on which side of the paper you use! The adhesive strips are best used where you peal off the paper and then press the adhesive onto the box label, then pull the plastic sheet off.

Be My Valentine, www.LaurasStampPad.com

TIP: When adding the circle or heart to the pillow box, only place Stampin’ Dimensionals in the center, going across. Since the pillow box is curved, the label will really only want to stick in the middle and not curve with the box. I will also say that I did not attempt to cut the kangaroo and stick the heart in. I was okay with the heart on his belly. 🙂

February Paper Pumpkin, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Want a sneak peak into the February Kit??? Check out this video! Are you as excited as I am??? I’m pumped because there was a past kit with succulents and it was one of my favorites!!! Click here to join Paper Pumpkin even if just for the month of February! Try it out and see! It’s only $20 and you get an ink spot, stamps, and a clear block as a new subscriber. That’s on top of the project!!! Woot Woot! So worth it!

Technique Tuesday – Banner Front Card!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! I have a fabulous technique to share with you today! This banner front card is fun and different from just a regular card! It’s also a fabulous masculine card which I struggle with! Luckily it works for Valentine’s Day, Father’s Day, and even Birthdays and Graduation. Just mix up the greeting!!! Also, a shout out to Karla Endris for the inspiration on this card!

Banner Front Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Which one do you like best?? Let me know in the comments below! Not only is the greeting different but I have a different color banner for each. On the Smoky Slate banner card, I stamped off once with the grease spots. For the Basic Gray banner, I stamped in full strength Smoky Slate!!!

I started with a 7-3/4″ X 4-1/4″ card base and scored it at 5-1/2″ (or 2-1/4″) depending on which way you prefer to measure). This allows for just a small flap for the card front. Next, I layered on a piece of the Classic Garage Designer Series Paper measuring 2″ x 4″. With this size, you can get 4 pieces from one sheet of 6″ x 6″. Then I die cut the gears from the Garage Gears Framelits in Real Red cardstock. Using the Fine Tip Glue Pen, I added the gears to the card front!

Geared Up Garage, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Using the grease spot stamp from the Geared Up Garage Stamp Set, I stamped it along the right inside edge in Smoky Slate. You can either go full strength or stamped off once or a little bit of both! For the banner, I cut a piece of Basic Gray (or Smoky Slate) measuring 2″ x 5-3/4″. Using the Banner Triple Punch, I punched the banner tips and then placed it inside the card. I closed that front flap and placed my finger along the edge as a guide. Then I added adhesive up to that edge where my finger was. This is to make sure I don’t have too much adhesive that it peaks out of the flap. Then simply close the flap over the banner with adhesive to adhere it. Using the coordinating Garage Gears Framelits, I die cut the greeting pieces and stamped it. Of course, I added it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals for some texture.

All Geared Up To Celebrate, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For this version of the card, I stamped the greeting on a banner that is 1″ wide and used the Banner Triple Punch. Adhere the two banners together before adhering it to the card base.

February Free Stamp Set of the Month!!!

Posted on

Happy Monday!!! It’s February so of course that means a new Free Stamp Set! The February Free Stamp Set of the Month is…….

February Free Stamp Set of the Month, www.LaurasStampPad.com

…the Flowering Dessert Stamp Set from the Occasions Mini Catalog! There are beautiful images as well as greetings. My favorite greeting is the “be your own kind of beautiful.” Who cares if someone else doesn’t think that’s the cool thing or pretty color. You do you!!! Stay true to what is in your heart.

Here’s a little side story to that and inside about me! I purchased some Krispy Kreme Donuts from my Niece for a fundraiser. Anyone else loves these as much as me??? Let me know in the comments below! Other donuts, I can pass on but a Krispy Kreme…..Mmmmm! Anyway, she needed to be paid in advance and I wasn’t going to be in town before the date of delivery. I asked her to ask her Ma (my mom) or her dad (my brother) and I would pay them back! She got it from her Dad! So donut day arrived and I was in town to pick them up those little heavenly O’s. I went to put the money in my brother’s truck but wanted to leave a little note as well. I went with a little donut pun! The note went like this….Donut you know you are loved! Thanks for paying for my donuts in advance! I just know my brother probably rolled his eyes when he read it and I don’t care.

Everyone wants to hear they are loved or they are cared about or they look nice. Why don’t we say it more often?? What’s holding up back?? If you can’t say it in person, send a card or leave a note! Make someone’s day! Make them feel special. Donut you wanna make someone smile? 🙂

I hope you enjoyed my little story and I hope you are excited about the Free Stamp Set of the Month for February! Click here to start shopping so you can earn this set for FREE as well as FREE Sale-A-Bration items all month long!

I Am A Beautiful Butterfly!!!

Posted on

Do you know what movie that is from??? I Am A Beautiful Butterfly…..if you guessed A Bug’s Life you are correct! I love that movie and the crazy little bugs. Butterflies are all I seem to want to play with right now! The Butterfly Gala Stamp Set, Duet Butterfly Punch, Botanical Butterfly Designer Paper…..I want it all!!!

Today, I am honored to be a part of the Blogging Friends Blog Hop!!! I created this amazing butterfly card and the other Blogging Friends used it as inspiration for their project. Be sure to check out all of their links below to get more fabulous ideas on how to use these products!

I Am A Beautiful Butterfly, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Isn’t this card so fabulous with that POP of purple and those gorgeous butterflies??? I am love love loving it! Also, I always love playing with some back and white! The super cool thing about this card is that the butterflies were already colored for me so that was super easy!!

I started with a Basic Black card base. Next, I took a piece of Highland Heather (4″ x 5-1/4″) and ran it through the Big Shot in the Swirls & Curls Embossing Folder. This makes such a fabulous background and gives the card a lot of texture. I added this piece to the card front! Then I took a strip of the Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper which is a Sale-A-Bration item and punched some banner tips using the Banner Triple Punch! The strip measures 1″ x 3-1/2″. This was added to the card front on the right side edge. For the greeting, I stamped it in Memento Black Ink from the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set. Then I punched it out with the Pretty Label Punch! This was then layered onto a Daffodil Delight 1-3/4 Circle. The greeting was added to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals for even more texture!

Now for those amazing butterflies that I didn’t have to color. Those were actually punched out with the Butterfly Duet Punch from the Botanical Butterfly Designer Paper! How cool is that??? No fussy cutting or coloring! The piece of paper has LOTS of butterflies with different color combinations to pick from. I went with these two so that I could keep with the purple theme. Another tip: the butterfly hiding behind the greeting isn’t even a full butterfly. I really loved the coloring on that one but it was at the edge of the paper so it wasn’t a complete butterfly. No need to fret, I just make it look like the butterfly was flying up from behind the greeting! It looks fabulous and you would never know! After all, we can’t waste designer paper! Am I right?

Laura’s Quick Tips: Have a Missing Framelit??

Posted on

Today I’m sharing another one of Laura’s Quick Tips! Are you always super organized?? Yeah me neither even though I am a rather organizational freak. It happens though. I get to playing so much in the stamp room. I’m pulling out everything to try and when the mess gets about 2 feet deep, it’s time to clean up and start again! There are 10 inks pads on the desk, cardstock in 15 colors, 4 stamp sets opened up, and framelits all over. Unless it is the Layering Ovals/Circles/Squares, it can be tricky figuring out which ones go with with set.

Have a Missing Framelit, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Not anymore after you hear about this cool tip! If you look real close to the top side of the framelit, there will be a number. That number is actually the item number for the set of Framelits. You will see in the catalog, there is a number usually starting with 14 and then the name and price of the item. If you find a random framelit on your desk….or gasp the floor. lol Take that number and enter into the Stampin’ Up website and it will tell you which set it is. Try it out with this number and let me know in the comments below which set it is. The number is 146828 and click here to find out what set it is! (There might be a prize drawn for all of the answers.) 🙂

DISCLAIMER: This will not work for sets that have retired. So here are a few tips for your retired items. Keep your old catalogs for the awesome ideas as well as looking up framelit numbers. You can browse the back and find the number in the section with all of the framelits. Another option is to download the catalog to your computer/device and save it. When you need to find a set, simply hit Control F or (FIND) and type in the number there. Then it will pop up really quick!

I hope this if super useful and you can rest assure you aren’t alone in trying to figure out the missing piece! If you would like to see this all in action, check out the video below or click here! Be sure to give the video a thumbs up if you liked it and don’t forget to subscribe if you are new. Laura’s Quick Tips: Did My Stamp Just Move??

Posted on

Happy Tuesday, everyone! I have a little bit of a Technique Tuesday and a little Laura’s Quick Tips today! If this has happened to me, surely it has happened to you. I have my Stamparatus all lined up and ready to go. After stamping a few, I line up the next one and just as a go to stamp it down, I realize it is not lined up correctly. Did My Stamp Just Move???

Did My Stamp Just Move, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Nope!!! The stamp didn’t move but the grid/scrap paper did or the foam mat did. My mind has been boggled so much on this and wondering how it moved and I could have thought I lined it up correctly. Then after looking at it more, I realize the paper or foam moved and it’s like Ahhh Hah!!! So when you think the stamp moved……check your paper and foam mat! 🙂

This fabulous card was created using the Stamparatus for that 2 step stamped image of flowers! The Stamparatus makes that image a breeze. One plate holds the folders for a fun color of your choice and the other plate holds the greenery piece! Boom Boom and you have a fabulous stamped image…..just make sure your grid and foam mat are in place!

I started with a Crumb Cake card base and then added a 2″ strip of the All My Love Designer Series Paper. I punched the bottom of it with the Banner Triple Punch to get those banner tips! Next, I added a piece of the All My Love Ribbon by just putting a little bit of Snail Adhesive down the banner and pressing the loop into it. It won’t feel secure at this time but when you place the stamped floral image over the top with Stampin’ Dimensionals, that will secure it better. For the floral piece I used Soft Sea Foam and Lovely Lipstick Inks.

Wishing You a Lovely Day, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the greeting, I stamped it from the Forever Lovely Stamp Set in Lovely Lipstick. Can I say Lovely any more in one sentence?!?!? Then I punched it out with the 1-3/4″ Circle Punch! For a little texture, I die cut some of the greenery pieces from the coordinating Lovely Flowers Framelits. One of the framelits is actually a 2 for 1 piece. There are 2 of that greenery piece in the 1 framelit. I die cut the 3 framelits in Soft Sea Foam and got the 4 pieces to use around the greeting! The greeting piece was added to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals as well! Just lovely! (I had to do it.)

Sprinkled with Love!!!

Posted on

Happy Monday!!! Do you like sprinkles??? I love love love them. The little ones, the flat ones that are shaped into just about anything, and the colorful ones….they are all my favorite. I will take a cupcake or cookie with sprinkles any day!!! Of course, I had to create this Sprinkled With Love cupcake card with lots of sprinkles!!! 🙂 Thank you to Mary McCormick for the inspiration for this card!

Sprinkled with Love, www.LaurasStampPad.com

The card uses the Sale-A-Bration Hello Cupcake Stamp Set that you can earn for FREE with a $50 order!!!

I started with a Crumb Cake card base and stamped some sprinkles across the middle of the card with Crumb Cake Ink. This gives a little bit of pattern to the card base! Next, I took a piece of Whisper White measuring 2-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ and stamped the cupcake liner in Crumb Cake Ink. This needs to be fairly low on the cardstock to allow for enough space for the icing and a gap between then two for the greeting. The best way to get the spacing for the gap is to cut the cardstock for the greeting, lay it down on the cardstock and then bump it down a smidge. Using that as your guide, stamp the icing in Powder Pink Ink. I added some sprinkles, of course in Lovely Lipstick Ink as well as the little heart decoration.

Now for that greeting piece!!! I started with a 1″ x 3-3/4″ piece of Powder Pink cardstock. Then I stamped the greeting in Lovely Lipstick Ink in the center. Using the Banner Triple Punch, I punched the banner tips on both ends. Just perfect!!! Layer the stamped cupcake piece onto a 3″ x 4″ piece of Lovely Lipstick and add it to the card front. Using Stampin’ Dimensionals for some texture, I added the greeting down the center. To finish it off, I added a few Enamel Shapes in  Lovely Lipstick from the Happiness Blooms Enamel Shapes! It’s just so fabulous!

Now if only I had a cupcake to enjoy! 🙂 I guess I will just have to enjoy this Free Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set instead. Fewer calories for sure! 😉 Click the supplies below to create this amazing card and start earning free Sale-A-Bration goodies!
