Technique Tuesday – A Fabulous Fold!

It is Tuesday again and so I’m sharing a fabulous technique with you!!!

This week it is this Fabulous Fold with Designer Series Paper!

I love how this card creates such a WOW response and it uses both sides of our fabulous Designer Series Paper! Now I don’t have to worry about holding a piece back because “surely there is a better project for this great piece of Designer Series Paper.” Or am I the only one who thinks that when I see a piece with 2 great sides??? The other great thing about this project is you can get 2 cards out of one 12 x 12 piece with a 1 inch strip left over for other projects!! Supplies Needed: Designer Series Paper and the Simply Scored Scoring Tool

You will need a piece of 12” x 5-1/2” piece of Designer Series Paper, score at 2”, 4”, 8”, and 10” using your Simply Scored Scoring Tool or Score Blade on your Paper Trimmer or just a Bone folder and straight edge. Fold on those score lines making mountains on either side of the center. Along the 5-1/2” side, put a little mark at 2-3/4” with a pencil. Then cut from the 4” score diagonal to that 2-3/4” mark! Do that on both sides. You will then flip those pieces over and layer them on the bottom of the mountain and adhere to the card. You can then decorate the inside with a piece of Whisper White cardstock which measures 3-3/4″ x 5-1/4″. On the outside flap I adhered (only half way so it would hang over the other half) the Labels Collection Framelit cut-out decorated with the Birthday Cake from the Embellished Events Stamp Set.

Be The Difference!

Be The Difference is the theme this year at Stampin’ Up! and I want to make a difference this year! Stampin’ Up! is a global sponsor of the Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC)! They have a stamp set each year where they donate $3.00 for each set sold to Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC). This year it is called Tag It and it is fabulous! There will be a class on using the Tag It Stamp Set coming soon! Be sure to keep an eye on my Calendar of Events!

Another way to make a difference at the Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC) is Soda Tabs!!!! I have this adorable little cardboard House that my husband and I put all of our soda tabs! My husband is so good, he even has his co-workers drop their tabs into his lunch bag every day! Every few months the house is full and I mail them off to the Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC)! I was told that a full house (a sandwich baggie full) allows a family of 4 stay at the house for free for about 3 days! How amazing is that? Each time I send the tabs, I throw in some hand-stamped cards for them to use too! These in the picture are just a few of the cards I sent, there were about 50 total!!! If you have extra cards that you would like to donate, feel free to bring them over when you attend an event or you can mail them to your local Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC)! I LOVE MAKING A DIFFERENCE!!!!

First Post!!!

Hello Everyone! I am so EXCITED (and a little nervous) about starting this blog. I feel like when you have a blog…it’s like REAL! I can’t wait to start sharing so much with you!!! Of course be sure to subscribe to this blog by signing up on the right hand side! That way you will get notified every time I post!

So here is a little bit about me.

I have been stamping for over 9 years now. I started out as a scrapbooker and then I was introduced to Stampin’ Up! and I was completely blown away by the fact that I wouldn’t need a million sheets of alphabet stickers anymore. Now I can purchase an alphabet stamp set and use all the fabulous colors. AMAZING! So I signed up because I just had to have it all. Here I am 9 years later and I am having the time of my life! I have a few classes each month, Stamps In a Snap Club (via the mail), workshops, private classes, and other events. I like to keep my calendar full because that means I get meet lots of new people and laugh A LOT! I hope to stamp with you too soon! In the meantime, enjoy this blog!
