Amazing Work of Art!!!

Posted on

The New Catalog is here! That means NEW stamps and accessories and paper and dies and embellishments and IDEAS!

Confession: I would have never looked twice at this stamp set – Work of Art

…BUT Stampin’ Up gave it to me for FREE at the New Catalog Premiere and I LOVE LOVE LOVE (a million more) it!!!! I have played this this set in so many ways and with so many colors. So just order yours now by clicking here and sit back and read my blog daily because A LOT more samples will be shown! Today I thought I would start off with quick and simple cards!

Work of Art Notecards, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Check these out! All you need is a package (or 5) of Notecards and Envelopes and a few stamp pads! I used the NEW In-Colors – Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey, Lost Lagoon, Mossy Meadow and Tangelo Twist! These colors are deep yet vibrant! I love the Purple (Blackberry Bliss) and the Yellow (Hello Honey) goes really well with Blackberry Bliss. As for the rest, the more I play with them the more I love them! For all of the cards above I used the 5 In-Colors and the Work of Art Stamp Set. I used all of the images and had so much fun! Many times, you see that I inked up the stamp and then stamped 2-3 or 4 times before going back to the ink. I love that Ombre effect that it gives and I love how it looks so soft or arty or some word I can’t seem to come up with! I decorated each of the envelopes to match the Notecard which is super cute I think. I did have fun with that Blackberry Bliss plaid look (Hello, future man card! My farming family wears lots of plaid!)!

I hope you enjoyed these amazing cards and be on the lookout for many many more because this set is just too much fun to put in the drawer!!! Also, don’t forget about my NEW CATALOG GIVEAWAY, Click here!

Happy Stampin!

My Digital Studio – 2013 Album!!!!

Posted on

I decided to do my 2013 Scrapbook in My Digital Studio! I found it to be very quick, simple, and fun! By quick, I don’t mean it took me 2 hours (it was much longer than that), BUT I did enjoy sitting on the couch watching my shows and scrapbooking the evening away. At the end of the evening, I closed my laptop and it was all cleaned up! That part was amazing!!! Here are a few pages that I completed!!!! There is so much more you can do with My Digital Studio but I went the simple route with mostly pictures and some journaling (that was my style in traditional scrapbooking as well).

My Digital Studio, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This page was real simple with some photos of going to a Cardinals Game! I rounded the corners of the pictures which I super love! I get on a kick of rounded corners on all pages! Love it!

My Digital Studio, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This picture is one of my favorites! I mean the beauty of nature is just amazing! This was taken on our family vacation which is so relaxing and fun! I took this photo one evening. I knew I wanted it to be in my scrapbook and really showcase it. I did the photo as the entire page and added in the quote. When my husband saw this, he said,”But you don’t ever do nothing, you always need something to do.” I responded with, “It’s a reminder!” 🙂

My Digital Studio, www.LaurasStampPad.com

On vacation, we spend lots of time on the Lake and in the Pool! After all, its summer time and its so much fun!!! As you can see I rounded the corners on these photos too! I just love the soft look!

My Digital Studio, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This page was created for my nephews birthday! Circles are so cute! I added in a “stamped” Happy Birthday all along the bottom of the 2 page spread! None of these pages included a lot of Designer Series Paper or embellishments but they are still super cute and just how I wanted them!

You can check out more pages of my 2013 Scrapbook here and here! Don’t forget that you can try out My Digital Studio for 30 days FREE!!! Click here to get it today! You can always purchase it to have and use forever for just $19.95! Stampin’ Up comes out with new downloads of stamp sets, Designer Series Paper, Kits, and so much more!!! I plan on downloading some new items for my 2014 Scrapbook!!!

Happy Digital Scrapbookin’

Technique Tuesday – Spotlight Technique

Posted on

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday!!!! Have you checked out the NEW Catalog! It came out yesterday and it is AMAZING! There are so many new stamps and products and fabulous ideas! After all the catalog is a great source for coming up with project ideas! Okay, now that you have seen that, lets show you an amazing technique – the Spotlight Technique!!!

lowtail Spotlight Technique, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This technique spotlights a certain section on your image with color. As you can see in the card above, I added pops of color to different areas of the butterfly. It isn’t that easy to see but each of those pops of color are actually punched out circles to there is a bit of texture and dimension to the card as well.

Swallowtail Spotlight Technique, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Now this one looks the same but it is just a bit different. This one I used my Markers and a template to add pops of color.

Supplies Needed: Line image stamp (something you can color in), Stazon Ink, Various Circle Punches, Markers, Cardstock

To create both of these cards at the same time, I took 3 pieces of Whisper White Cardstock measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. You will then stamp the Swallowtail Butterfly on each of the pieces in Stazon Ink. It doesn’t matter if they are straight or diagonal and each one can be different. Then you will color in one of the butterflies completely with a marker. Using your various Circle Punches, punch portions of the butterfly out. You can punch near the edge or right in the center of the butterfly. You will then puzzle piece these punches circles onto one of your other stamped butterflies. I suggest punching and then finding the matching spot and adhering it down before moving to the next punch. This way it won’t be as hard to find out where the piece should go. Once you have punched and assembled your desired pieces, you can layer that on a card base and add a greeting!

For the second card, you will take your punched butterfly piece and lay it over the other Stazon stamped butterfly and color in the butterfly in the open areas. You don’t have to line it up perfectly, you can move the circles around as you wish! Again once you have the desired amount of color, you can layer that on a card base and add a greeting! Check out my Video Tutorial below to see it done in action! Be sure to “like” and “subscribe” to my videos so you don’t miss any of them!

I hope you enjoyed this technique and try it out! I would love to see some of your creations or variations of this technique so feel free to share them in the comments below or you can email me photos of your project. I would love to see them!

Happy Stampin’

Fabulous Friday!!!!

Posted on

Happy Friday!!! Boy this week went by fast! Wish all weeks had 3 day weekends! 🙂 Boy do I have some AMAZING deals for you!!! First off the Weekly Deals this week have LOTS of my favorite (and sad to see go) items!!!

Weekly Deals 5.25

Can you guess my favorite??? I think I’m going to have to go with the Naturals Composition Paper and then the Stripes Embossing Folder and then the Heart Punch. The Naturals Composition Paper is like a hidden gem….it is thick Designer Series Paper in that kraft color BUT it is clear embossed with the image you see – musical notes, flowers, fleur de lis, wood grain and more. You can then use your SPONGE DAUBERS (all time favorite tool, don’t worry they are coming back in the new catalog, just repackaged) to add in color. You can also use markers to color in the flowers or any fine details. It is SOOOOO much fun and super cool. You can see samples here and here.

As for the stripes….texture is so simple and fun to add to any type of card! It really makes it pop! Here and here are a few of my favorites with the Stripes Folder!
