Sunflower Work of Art!!!

Posted on

Happy Monday everyone!!!!! I know I know…that is a little too much excitement for a Monday but maybe this fabulous card will brighten your day!!! Of course this was created with the most amazing stamp set ever…..

Sunflower Work of Art, www.LaurasStampPad.com

THE WORK OF ART STAMP SET!!!!! Isn’t it fabulous? I used the long image for the stem and the small “swishy” image for the leaves and petals! The New In-Colors – Hello Honey and Mossy Meadow are perfect sunflower colors! To get the petals, I punched out a circle with my 1-3/4″ Circle Punch of scrap paper and placed it at the top of my stem. Then I inked up the image in Hello Honey and stamped, moved it over a bit, and stamped again. This is how I got the the dark and light shades for the petals. Once I had gone all the way around the circle, I took my circle mask off and inked up the image, stamped off, and then stamped with part of the image in the middle to add just a little bit of color. Then I stamped the greeting in Mossy Meadow!

Pink Flower Work of Art, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I just had to try this flower our in PINK!!! I did this one in Melon Mambo and Mossy Meadow! Now I want to do it in Purple….I’m thinking Elegant Eggplant! 🙂 Be sure to check out the Video Tutorial by clicking here or seeing it down below!

So many amazing products this week! I love Ribbon and it is my go-to embellishment for almost all cards. Epic Day Washi Tape is something you should stock up on! Washi Tape is super fun to on so many different projects! Add some to a piece of twine like a banner and attach to sticks for a cute decoration on your cake or dessert. Add a piece around your beverage straws. Also, check out this post and this post for ways to use it on cards!

Big News!!!!

Big New Birthday Candle, www.LaurasStampPad.com

So it’s may not really be YOUR Birthday but this Big New Stamp Set is super fabulous and most definitely something to get excited about!!!! What? You think the blog title was misleading? 🙂

The Big New Stamp Set is super fun! I got it because I loved the big greetings but when it arrived I went to my stamp room and just started playing. Ideas were flowing like crazy and I was giddy with excitement of the cards I was coming up with! I love when that happens! These two cards were created by stamping the candle in Stazon along the bottom and then adding the birthday greeting! Then I colored in the candles with my markers! I LOVE how you can get a masculine and feminine card out of the same style and the color combinations are endless! You can always match the color to the recipient’s favorite color or party theme color. How fabulous is that? Of course I’m loving Bermuda Bay right now and Melon Mambo is always my favorite. For the Melon Mambo card, I added a little 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon in Melon Mambo! Love that ribbon!

Big New Birthday, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Here is another sample that I created on Whisper White cardstock and then added a little 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon in Pool Party!

This past weekend I did this card at a Stamp Party and everyone came up with different ideas for their card. Some stamped the same number of candles as the year the Birthday recipient was going to be, some stamped the candle on the envelope in the shape of the first letter of the recipient’s name (example: Harper was the Birthday Girl getting the card and so she stamped the candle 3 times to create an H on the envelope). It was so fun to see all of the creations everyone was coming up with!!!

There are more fabulous images in this stamp set too so be on the lookout and be sure to add this set to your order! Big New in Clear – 134018 and in Wood – 134015!

Lovely As A Tree!!!

Lovely As A Tree, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Lovely As a Tree Stamp Set has been around since the dawn of time….okay maybe not that long ago. I just recently added this set to my collection to see what the fuss was all about. Results….I’m loving it! Look how simple this card is! It makes the perfect man card for a Birthday or Father’s Day! It would also be a great Thinking of You or Sympathy card as well! You could always mix up the colors to match a season too! I used Pear Pizzazz for this card but on the tree I went a little darker – Garden Green! I used the Birthday greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes. The Baker’s Twine adds a little texture and pattern in the background as well! Simple yet fabulous!

Do you have this stamp set in your collection? What types of cards have you created with it? Leave me a comment down below!

Technique Tuesday – Perfect Plaid!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! You know what that means……I have a fabulous technique to share with you today! This one is super fun and really rather easy! The best part….you can mix and mingle a million different colors and come out with something different each time! I love that!

Work of Art Plaid, www.LaurasStampPad.com

How cute is that? I mean masculine! 😉 I used the Work of Art Stamp Set! This is by far my favorite stamp set right now. You can see more samples using this set here and here!

Supplies Needed:  Work of Art Stamp Set, 2-3 Ink Pads, Cardstock

I used the long straight image from the Work of Art Set to create this look. You can use 2-3 different colors. I found when I used a 3rd color, I always felt it was off because I either didn’t have enough of that 3rd color or it was just a mess of too many colors but I’m crazy like that. My piece of cardstock measures 3-3/4″ x 2-1/2″. I decided to use this size because it fits the stamp. You could go big and have it layer the entire card (4″ x 5-1/4″) but you would need to stamp twice to create the line all the way across. I used the NEW In-Colors – Lost Lagoon and Mossy Meadow for the card pictured above. You will ink up one of the colors and stamp down, moved about 1/4″ and stamp again without re-inking. Ink up with that color and keep doing that all the way across. Then turn your piece 90 degrees and with the 2nd color do the same thing, stamp, move up a little and stamp again without re-inking. You could also do all dark (inking and stamping) along one side and all light stamping (stamping off once) along the other side. You can mix it up to however you wish….endless possibilities! Here is a Video Tutorial for you to watch this technique in action! Be sure to like and subscribe to the video so you never miss out!

Click here to check out more videos of mine! I hope you enjoyed this technique and try it out yourself. Let me know in the comments below what you think and if you try it out, send me a photo of your project! I love seeing what you all come up with!

Going Grunge!!!!

Posted on

The Stamp Set – Gorgeous Grunge may not seem like a top pick for stamp sets….after all there aren’t any flowers in the set. BUT it is a fabulous stamp set for masculine cards (don’t we all need help there) and for amazing backgrounds. How many times do you wish you had a little splatter or random dots but when you get our your spritzers it spits all over or the splatters are too much? You get out a marker but that doesn’t look random enough. Well I have the solution for you and it comes out PERFECT every time!

Grunge Masculine Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

See, look how fabulous those little dots/splatters are in the bottom corner. I just took the stamp and used Smoky Slate ink (same color as the cardstock) and stamped it down. Perfect! You can add it to the entire background or just in the spots you wish to have it! I love that and some of the dots are bigger and some smaller so you still get that splatter look…..it is just more controlled. 🙂 I used some of the NEW Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack which features the new In-Colors Lost Lagoon and Hello Honey! The greeting I used came from the Remembering Your Birthday Stamp Set!

Grunge Masculine Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Now this card is my favorite! Something about the blue and grays together….or just the messiness of it….or something! I used Night of Navy and Smoky Slate but I think it would look great in any color….even pink and orange or yellow and red….oh the possibilities! Of course, pink and orange will take it out of the masculine category! 🙂 I used every single stamp in the Gorgeous Grunge Set for this card…the splatters, the lines, the dots, everything!

Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Some of the images I did in full strength ink and sometimes I stamped off once to get a lighter look! What do you think? Would you change anything or add anything? Leave me a comment down below! I would love to hear from you!

My 2013 Scrapbook is DONE!!!!

Posted on

I know I know! Many of you are probably rolling your eyes and thinking how far behind you are on your scrapbooking! Don’t worry and start going Digital! I am not usually done with last year’s album by this time! But I did my 2013 Album in My Digital Studio and it was super fun and simple! There was no hauling out the album and sorting through pictures and making a big mess. I sat on the couch, opened my laptop and turned on one of my favorite shows (DWTS or Friends probably)!

My Digital Studio, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Okay this page is beyond precious because look at the adorable baby! I used the Sunny Day Designer Series Paper and Embellishments (this was a past Simply Scrappin’ Kit, nothing in My Digital Studio retires).

My Digital Studio, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This is the second page and I used more embellishments for my journaling! Super precious!

My Digital Studio, www.LaurasStampPad.com

When it comes to my Christmas pages, I always have TONS of photos and no room to write what happened! This year I took a portion of this page to write up a little bit about our big Family Christmas! I used the Christmas Jingle Simply Scrappin’ Kit for lots of my holidays pages! Love it!!!

My Digital Studio, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I love to end my albums with a little re-cap of the year – major events, year recap, and other memories! I remembered, and was able to fit it in, this year! I love it! My 2013 Album was…..drum roll……88 pages long! I know what you are thinking….THAT IS A LOT!!! But the awesome thing about digital is it is still super thin and small. Many other years I had two 12″ x 12″ Albums for one year and they weigh about 5,000 pounds each.

2013 Album My Digital Album, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This album is compact and less than an inch wide! So much better for putting on the shelf and carrying around to share with other! Another thing that I feel like I should share – it cost about $130 (shipping and tax)! That may seem like a lot if you aren’t a scrapbooker but if you are then you probably think that is a steal! After buying your album, pictures, adhesive, paper, embellishments, paper trimmer, corner rounder punch and so much more….it is a lot more than $130! I think you should try out My Digital Studio and see for yourself! Try it for 30 Day FREE or you can purchase it for $19.95!

I can’t wait to get started on my 2014 Album (which I am already 5 month behind in)! 🙂

Technique Tuesday – Punch Art

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! You know what that means……I have a fabulous technique to show you today!!!! It is super cute and can be used as a Man Card!!!! I KNOW! I’m excited because you all know how difficult it is for me to come up with man cards since pinks and purples, bling, and flowers are my favorite things!!!! (Also, voting is still taking place on my New Catalog Giveaway, click here to vote!)

Pac Man Punch Art, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Supplies Needed: Owl Builder Punch, 1/8″ Handheld Circle Punch, 1-3/4″ Circle Punch, 1″ Square Punch, Cardstock

I love how you can create just about anything with a few punches! Eeeeee So fun and exciting! I created the yellow dots (Daffodil Delight) with the eyes in the Owl Punch. The enemies were created from the owl and I just snipped off the feet. I found that Real Red is good for Blinky, Blushing Bride for Pinky, Coastal Cabana for Inky, and Pumpkin Pie for Clyde. For Pac-Man, I used Daffodil Delight and punched a 1-3/4″ Circle and then slide the circle half way into the Square Punch in order to punch out his mouth. To get that little bitty eye, I used my 1/8″ Handheld Punch to punch out the eye and allow the black background to show through!!!! How simple is that? To see this in action, check out my Video Tutorial here. If you love it, be sure to give it a thumbs up! And don’t forget to Subscribe to my Channel so that you don’t miss out on any of my videos! 🙂
