How To Make The Perfect Balloon!

Posted on

I know it isn’t Technique Tuesday but I wanted to share this fabulous tip with you! How to make the perfect balloon!!!!

Balloon Instructions, www.LaurasStampPad.com

How simple was that? All you need is some Baker’s Twine, Owl Builder Punch, 3/4″ x 15/16″ Oval Punch (aka: Small Oval Punch), scrap of cardstock and a Stampin’ Dimensional! You can also add a little white curve/dash/mark (whatever you want to call it) to the make the balloon look rounded and shiny with your Chalk Marker! I forgot to do that on this one!

Balloons and Tag Topper, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Here is a better photo of the completed card! To create that adorable greeting tag, I used my Scalloped Tag Topper Punch! It is perfect for sliding ribbon through and then you don’t need to make a bow or knot (less ribbon and for those who can’t tie bows, less stress)! I am here to make your life better! You are welcome! 🙂 Balloon are perfect for anyone’s birthday – young or old so this is a great one to make multiples of and have one hand! Also, those little balloon use up random scraps you have laying around! Couldn’t get much better! Here is a quick video tutorial on this amazing technique!

I hope you enjoyed learning how to make balloons! Let me know in the comments if you want more little tutorials like this one!

You’re Lovely!!

It is Sale-A-Bration time!!!! That means that your earn free stuff as a customer, hostess, and if you wish to join Stampin’ Up! The stamp set You’re Lovely is so amazing! It has fabulous flowers and greetings! Check out this sample!

You're Lovely, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card is super simple and so amazing! I used my favorite color – Pool Party and Basic Gray! The Designer Series Paper is also one of the items you can earn for FREE with Sale-A-Bration – Sweet Sorbet! I added a little White Baker’s Twine for some texture. For the greeting, I stamped the image in Basic Gray on a scrap piece of Whisper White and then again on a piece of Basic Gray. I die-cut the Basic Gray piece with the Deco Labels Framelits and I punched out the white piece out with my Circle Punch! Then I layered them with Stampin’ Dimensionals! TIP: That layered piece of Pool Party cardstock is 4″ x 5-1/4″ which is just 1/4″ inch less than the card base. When cutting these pieces out, you end up with a little extra piece of cardstock. I have millions of these pieces and so I started putting that little piece on the inside as a little decoration. That is the piece that you can see on the inside of the card! 🙂 Always looking for ways to use my scraps!

Bright Butterflies!!!

Posted on

This card is so amazing because it has BUTTERFLIES (which I have recently fallen in love with) and lots of color! I just feel like cards need to be colorful and POP! Another bonus for this card, it uses up some of the scraps you have laying around!

Papillion Portpourri, www.laurasstamppad.com

The fabulous card was created with the Papillion Portpourri Stamp Set and matching Elegant Butterfly Punch! I stamped the same butterfly image 4 times on scraps of Whisper White Cardstock using Crushed Curry, Cherry Cobbler, Island Indigo and Elegant Eggplant (all in the Regals Collection). You could always use different butterfly images so you don’t have to keep cleaning to stamp before going to the next color (be sure to clean it well for the Crushed Curry 😉 ) I love how bright and cheery this card is and again it could be used for any occasion! Can’t wait for spring so I can use this stamp set more and more! For more samples using this stamp set, click here and here!

Rolls of Ribbon!!!

Ribbon Card, www.LaurasStampPad.comI LOVE Ribbon! It is one of my favorite embellishments (after pearls or rhinestones)!!! And I always end up with a tons of little pieces of ribbon left over, whether it be from the end of a roll or I cut more than I needed! So I was looking for ways to use them up and this is one of the cards I cam up with!!!!! Here I used the 5 In-Colors Crushed Curry, Raspberry Ripple, Primrose Petal, Midnight Muse and Gumball Green 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon! This card is perfect for any occasion so you could make a few up with your extra ribbon scraps and stamp a greeting onto the card as you need them! The stamp I used was from the Lots of Thanks Stamp Set! A few other ways to use your scraps are to fold a little piece in half and tuck it (or staple it) under one of your layers or tie various ribbons on ring binder notebooks or other albums! Let me know if you have any other tips for using up those scraps of ribbon in the comment below!

Technique Tuesday – Birthday Candle Card

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! You know what that means – I am sharing a fabulous Technique with you!!!! This card is beyond amazing!!!! It looks fabulous and you use lots of scraps….who doesn’t have a million of those hanging around?

Birthday Candles, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Supplies Needed: Basic Black Cardstock, Whisper White Cardstock, scraps of color cardstock, ribbon, Embossing Folder, Decorative Label Punch and Bird Punch

I cut strips 1/2 inch by 2-3/4 inches in various colors and then ran them all through the Big Shot in an embossing folder. You can pick whichever one you have handy or your favorite. I used the Beautifully Baroque Embossing Folder. I then started placing them on the card. I placed the 2 end candles down and then the middle one and then filled in. This helped me with spacing each of them! I used my Basic Black Marker (pen tip) to make the wicks. Then using So Saffron cardstock, I punched out the wing from the Bird Punch! I brushed the rounded (bottom) part of the flame with my Sponge Daubers and Pumpkin Pie ink. I adhered each of them to the card with a Stampin’ Dimensional on the back. Then I took my Dazzling Details (love this because it adds bling without the powder going EVERYWHERE) and added a little to the tips of each of the flames. I did this after assembly so it could be set aside to dry for a bit. The greeting is from the Bring On The Cake stamp set and punched out with the Decorative Label Punch. Then I punched another Decorative Label in Basic Black, cut it in half long ways and adhered it to my other punched piece. This gives the perfect little layering affect. LOVE IT! The little red dots bordering my greeting were created with my Real Red Marker….just dot dot dot dot and a million more dots. 🙂 I hope you have enjoyed this technique for making a amazingly adorable card with lots of scraps!!! Try it out yourself and send it to me! I would love to see what you have created!

The Ombre Look!!!

Posted on

It was probably less than a year ago when I heard about the Ombre look (I never said I was a fashionista or super knowledgeable about current trends). 🙂 BUT since then I have seen it literally everywhere…..cakes, hair, clothing, decorations, and so much more! I have loved the look with my cards too!!! It is so beautiful and the gradual colors are amazing! You can check out another Ombre Card here!

Ombre Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card is so beyond simple I almost felt the need to add something more to it but then I thought no, simple it good! I have punched Night of Navy, Marina Mist, and Soft Sky one inch squares. You could just use your paper cutter to create the one inch squares too! The greeting is from the Feels Good Stamp Set and I used my markers to ink it up so I could use more than one color! This is a great use of those left over scraps that you have laying around too! Try out an Ombre look and send me you masterpiece! I would love to see what you come up with!

Technique Tuesday – Lollipop Card!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!!! That means I have a fabulous Technique to share with you! This is a great way to use up some scrap pieces of cardstock that you have laying around and it is SUPER CUTE!

Lollipop Card, www.LaurasStampPad.comI love this card because of the bright colors and the fun that a lollipop brings!!! And this card is super simple…..besides the spacing of the lollipop circles which took me 3 times to finally get it right! 🙂

Supplies Needs: Crumb Cake Cardstock for card base, White Chalk Marker, scraps of white and various colors of cardstock, 1 inch Circle Punch, & Ribbon

I punched 11 different colors of cardstock with my 1 inch Circle Punch. You could do all shades of one color or lots of different colors! Then I took a 2 inch Circle Punched Piece (you could use any piece of scrap paper), find the center and then start attaching your circles. I held a pencil at the center point and made sure all of my circles touched that pencil point, this way I was sure I was going in a circle. I did have some troubles with my spacing which will vary depending on how many circles you use and all so I don’t have a spacing amount to share with you. I will say that when you start putting the circles down, don’t use a ton of adhesive in case you need to re-position. At the end which attaching it to my card, I added lots of dimensionals for extra adhesive and to POP it up! I added a little knot of ribbon around the lollipop stick (which is just cardstock). You could use a dowel rod but that will make it hard to mail. For the border, I used my Chalk Marker to add dash marks! I love how this adds a cute border without adding layers!!!! I hope you enjoyed this card and try it out! Be on the lookout for more great cards that use up your leftover scraps!

Favorite Stamp Set – Feels Good!

Posted on

Do you have one stamp set that you go to every time you sit down to craft? I DO! The Feels Good Stamp Set is my favorite stamp set right now! The greetings are so fun and unique! And since they are so large, I find there is no real need for lots of extra decoration because the greeting is enough! What do you think?

Color SplashThis card was created with a few of the NEW In-Colors – Coastal Cabana, Strawberry Slush, and Crisp Cantaloupe. All I did to get this look was dab my Aqua Painter in some ink and brush it over the cardstock! Voila! Then I stamped the Feels Good Stamp in Stazon Ink.

IMG_1845This card is just a ray of sunshine AND the perfect use for those scraps of Designer Series Paper that you have left over. Check out this post using Designer Series Paper but their is a 1 inch strip left over!

IMG_1140So this one combines my favorite Stamp Set Feels Good with another favorite set of mine – Swallowtail!!!! I stamped this amazing butterfly over the 2 pieces of Whisper White cardstock and then assembled them with the Primrose Petal Cardstock layered in between. Then I put a strip of Sticky Strip towards the bottom and created a rippled ribbon look with a piece of cardstock (it is the little extra piece left over after cutting a layer of 4″x 5-1/4″). Of course, I had to put a little bling on there too!!!

Are you in love with the Feels Good Stamp Set now?
