Laura’s Quick Tips: Did My Stamp Just Move??

Posted on

Happy Tuesday, everyone! I have a little bit of a Technique Tuesday and a little Laura’s Quick Tips today! If this has happened to me, surely it has happened to you. I have my Stamparatus all lined up and ready to go. After stamping a few, I line up the next one and just as a go to stamp it down, I realize it is not lined up correctly. Did My Stamp Just Move???

Did My Stamp Just Move, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Nope!!! The stamp didn’t move but the grid/scrap paper did or the foam mat did. My mind has been boggled so much on this and wondering how it moved and I could have thought I lined it up correctly. Then after looking at it more, I realize the paper or foam moved and it’s like Ahhh Hah!!! So when you think the stamp moved……check your paper and foam mat! 🙂

This fabulous card was created using the Stamparatus for that 2 step stamped image of flowers! The Stamparatus makes that image a breeze. One plate holds the folders for a fun color of your choice and the other plate holds the greenery piece! Boom Boom and you have a fabulous stamped image…..just make sure your grid and foam mat are in place!

I started with a Crumb Cake card base and then added a 2″ strip of the All My Love Designer Series Paper. I punched the bottom of it with the Banner Triple Punch to get those banner tips! Next, I added a piece of the All My Love Ribbon by just putting a little bit of Snail Adhesive down the banner and pressing the loop into it. It won’t feel secure at this time but when you place the stamped floral image over the top with Stampin’ Dimensionals, that will secure it better. For the floral piece I used Soft Sea Foam and Lovely Lipstick Inks.

Wishing You a Lovely Day, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the greeting, I stamped it from the Forever Lovely Stamp Set in Lovely Lipstick. Can I say Lovely any more in one sentence?!?!? Then I punched it out with the 1-3/4″ Circle Punch! For a little texture, I die cut some of the greenery pieces from the coordinating Lovely Flowers Framelits. One of the framelits is actually a 2 for 1 piece. There are 2 of that greenery piece in the 1 framelit. I die cut the 3 framelits in Soft Sea Foam and got the 4 pieces to use around the greeting! The greeting piece was added to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals as well! Just lovely! (I had to do it.)

Sprinkled with Love!!!

Posted on

Happy Monday!!! Do you like sprinkles??? I love love love them. The little ones, the flat ones that are shaped into just about anything, and the colorful ones….they are all my favorite. I will take a cupcake or cookie with sprinkles any day!!! Of course, I had to create this Sprinkled With Love cupcake card with lots of sprinkles!!! 🙂 Thank you to Mary McCormick for the inspiration for this card!

Sprinkled with Love, www.LaurasStampPad.com

The card uses the Sale-A-Bration Hello Cupcake Stamp Set that you can earn for FREE with a $50 order!!!

I started with a Crumb Cake card base and stamped some sprinkles across the middle of the card with Crumb Cake Ink. This gives a little bit of pattern to the card base! Next, I took a piece of Whisper White measuring 2-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ and stamped the cupcake liner in Crumb Cake Ink. This needs to be fairly low on the cardstock to allow for enough space for the icing and a gap between then two for the greeting. The best way to get the spacing for the gap is to cut the cardstock for the greeting, lay it down on the cardstock and then bump it down a smidge. Using that as your guide, stamp the icing in Powder Pink Ink. I added some sprinkles, of course in Lovely Lipstick Ink as well as the little heart decoration.

Now for that greeting piece!!! I started with a 1″ x 3-3/4″ piece of Powder Pink cardstock. Then I stamped the greeting in Lovely Lipstick Ink in the center. Using the Banner Triple Punch, I punched the banner tips on both ends. Just perfect!!! Layer the stamped cupcake piece onto a 3″ x 4″ piece of Lovely Lipstick and add it to the card front. Using Stampin’ Dimensionals for some texture, I added the greeting down the center. To finish it off, I added a few Enamel Shapes in  Lovely Lipstick from the Happiness Blooms Enamel Shapes! It’s just so fabulous!

Now if only I had a cupcake to enjoy! 🙂 I guess I will just have to enjoy this Free Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set instead. Fewer calories for sure! 😉 Click the supplies below to create this amazing card and start earning free Sale-A-Bration goodies!

Do you love butterflies??? I find them to be so beautiful, fun to watch, a sign of hope, and Spring!!! Today, I’m going to show you all kinds of butterflies that you can create with the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set and coordinating Butterfly Duet Punch!

All Kinds of Butterflies, www.LaurasStampPad.com

The Butterfly Gala Stamp Set has 4 styles of butterflies that are each intricate and stunning. They look amazing stamped in 1 color on white or colored cardstock. You can also color them in with Watercolor Pencils, Blends, or other watercolor tools. Another option is to stamp the solid butterfly stamp to fill in the butterfly with color. This can be done in the same color but stamped off once for a lighter shade or it can be in a different color. I love how the butterfly images are a big one and little one combined. This way they go into the punch perfectly and you can make multiples really fast! I love it!!!

Let’s Talk About Spring!!!

Posted on

Happy Wednesday!!! It’s the calm between 2 storms….or so they say! We had a snow all weekend this past weekend and supposedly rain and snow are coming this weekend. Who’s ready for Spring??? 63 More Days….not that I’m counting! In the meantime, being stuck inside means more time for cuddles and crafting, right? What do you do when you are stuck inside from a winter storm? Let me know in the comments below – Bake, Watch Movies, Craft, Clean, Nap??

Let's Talk About Spring, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I am loving Butterflies right now! They are so fun because they look fabulous in every color. I think they are the perfect sign of Spring which I can’t wait for! They are also so uplifting and beautiful which makes them perfect for any occasion. As you can see here I used the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set and coordinating punch! The inspiration for the colors came from the Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper and Sale-A-Bration Ribbon Pack. These have Balmy Blue, Daffodil Delight, Grapefruit Grove, Highland Heather, and Lemon Lime Twist in them. So much coordination to make it super easy!

I started with the card base in the 5 colors mentioned above. Next, I took a piece of Whisper White measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″ and adhered a strip of the Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper measuring 4″ x 2″. Then using the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set, I stamped the greeting in the lower portion. Some of them I stamped in the lower right corner and others I stamped under the designer paper. I used the coordinating ink color with the designer paper and ribbon. You could always mix and match colors for even more options!

Yellow Butterflies, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the butterflies, it is super easy to create lots of them because each time you stamp and punch you are getting 2 butterflies. The stamps are connected featuring both a big and small butterfly. I simply stamped twice for each card. The stamped image lines up perfectly in the punch as well. Each card has 4 butterflies – 3 on the outside and the 4th one on the inside! Some of the cards, I put a piece of Whisper White on the inside (4″ x 5-1/4″) and then placed the butterfly on it. This makes it pop more and also white to write on.

Orange Butterfly, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Also, I mixed an matched the butterflies. Some of the cards have 2 little on the front with 1 big butterfly and others have 2 big and 1 little! It’s so much fun to play with these and get different looks with the same stamp set. There are also 4 different types of butterflies in the set too! I love it!!! Bring on all of the butterflies!

You Are Loved!!!

Valentine’s Day is around the corner…..okay more like around this corner and that corner. BUT that means you still have plenty of time to create some fabulous cards for those you love or treats for kid’s classmates and teachers. Some like to think that Valentine’s Day is all hearts and chocolates for your significant other. I like to think of Valentine’s Day as a day to share your love with those around you…..like everyone. Also, I prefer cupcakes over chocolate! 🙂 This card saying You Are Loved is perfect for anyone!

You are loved, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Tell me this….how do you feel when someone says I love you to you?? For me, I feel warm and fuzzy. I feel like I matter and someone cares about me and that makes me very happy. Since that is the way I feel, I like to think others feel the same. This is why we should always send or share our love! I’m pretty sure my brother would roll his eyes if I said I love you to his face. So to spare the embarrassment, I send a card…after all I do love him and every other member of my family. My sister doesn’t roll her eyes! 🙂

This card is quick and simple. I started  with a Whisper White card base and stamped the hearts down the left side. The hearts are from the Forever Lovely Stamp Set in the Occasions Mini Catalog and they are stamped in Flirty Flamingo!! Next, I took a 3″ square piece of the All My Love Designer Series Paper and layered it onto Flirty Flamingo cardstock. I added this to the card front!

All My Love Designer Paper, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the greeting, I stamped it from the Forever Lovely Stamp Set onto Whisper White and punched it out with the Pretty Label Punch. I added the greeting to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals for a little bit of texture! Using the Flirty Flamingo Ribbon from the All My Love Ribbon Combo Pack, I tied a bow and added it with a Mini Glue Dot. On the bottom of the card, I added a few Clear Epoxy Hearts. The perfect card for Valentine’s Day…..or any day of the year!

Lovely Lasting Lily!!!

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!!! We are in full swing of the Occasions Mini Catalog & Sale-A-Bration!!! Today, I’m sharing with you this lovely Lasting Lily card that I created!

Lovely Lasting Lily, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I love the soft look of this card and how easy it is! The greeting is perfect for thinking of you, sympathy, I’m sorry, and many other occasions!

I started with a Soft Sea Foam card base. Next, I took another piece of Soft Sea Foam measuring 5″ x 3-3/4″ and stamped the lilies from the Lasting Lily Stamp Set. This is one of the $100 level free sets you can earn through Sale-A-Bration. It has tons of greetings for both the inside and outside. The flowers and stems were all stamped in Mint Macaron Ink. Before adding this piece to the card front, I punched out a half circle on the right edge using the 3/4″ Circle Punch. This gives a little tab to secure some ribbon! I tied some Silver Metallic Edge Ribbon around the cardstock and into a knot.

For the greeting, I used a piece of Whisper White measuring 1-1/2″ x 3″ and stamped the greeting from the Lasting Lily Stamp Set. Using the Banner Triple Punch, I punched the banner tips. The greeting was added to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals for a little bit of texture!

Sale-A-Bration Lily, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the inside of the card, I added a piece of Whisper White (4″ x 5-1/4″) and stamped another lily in the corner and greeting up top! Do you like to decorate the inside of your cards? Let me know in the comments below! I didn’t use to but I have been wanting to a lot lately. #newyearnewcardstyle Just maybe! 🙂

Merry & Bright!!!

Posted on

It’s the Christmas Season so we should all be merry & bright……right??? We should all try at least. I know the holidays can make us all a little crazy and stressed out trying to get everything done. Thank goodness Claire is too little to know this year because I feel like that is helping me ease into this all. I promise she will have a stocking next year. 🙂

Merry & Bright, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I love the bright colors of this card and that cute little greeting. This was another fabulous card idea that I got from Vacation Stamping School. Swapping ideas with other stampers is the best!!!!

I started with a Real Red card base and added some of the All is Bright Designer Series Paper to the center. Next, I stamped the lightbulbs and punched them out with the Making Christmas Bright Stamp Set and coordinating Christmas Bulb Builder Punch. I used Call Me Clover, Crushed Curry, and Real Red Inks. For the ends of the bulbs, I punched out Gold Glimmer Paper. To adhere the pieces together, I added a Mini Glue Dot to the end of the colored bulb and pressed the gold end onto it. Then I used a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional on the end and a regular Stampin’ Dimensional on the bulb.

Colored Christmas Light Bulbs, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I punched out a 2-1/4″ Circle Punch and stamped the wreath image from the Making Christmas Bright in Crushed Curry Ink. Then I stamped the line in Memento Black Ink and added the light bulbs. Be sure to place them down so your words read correctly. That may sound silly but I just about had it say And Bright Merry. 🙂 I added this to the card front and finished it off with some Real Red Rhinestones!!! It’s the perfect little card for the season.

Thumbunny Loves You!!!

Posted on

Happy Monday and HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BRAD!!! It’s my husband’s birthday today and you all know how much I love making him special cards. You can check out some of the past ones here, here, and here! Now that we have Little Claire, we had to make a card together!!! That’s where Thumbunny Loves You comes into play…

Thumbunny Loves You, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I love how it turned out even if Claire’s thumb doesn’t really look like a thumb. Rotating the thumb around while holding her on your lap and sticking her hand into ink…….not easy! I do have to say there was no crazy messes with ink so I call it a win!!

I used the Make a Difference Stamp Set for the letters and it was really easy to line up the letters and stamp them. I did not line them all up and stamp as one word on the block. Instead, I stamped 2 letters (T & u) and then lined up the 2 in between (h & m). This makes your letters match up better since the photopolymer around the letters sometimes doesn’t allow for a super close stamped letter. It really wasn’t all that hard though since they are photopolymer. If anything I wouldn’t ever suggest writing much more than this greeting as it isn’t really all that quick. The hardest part was probably finding the letters on the big sheet of stamps. 🙂 I swear some letters took me 5 minutes to find. Also, making sure I was spelling it correctly since it was stamped slowly and in pieces.

Little Thumb, Big Thumb, www.LaurasStampPad.com

After stamping our thumbs in Blushing Bride, I used a Basic Black Marker to color in some of the faces. I also used the March 2017 Paper Pumpkin Kit for the whiskers and the face on my bunny. Paper Pumpkin stamps always come in handy down the road. I have used various greetings and images from past months many time! For the ears on my bunny, I used the Christmas Bulb Builder Punch and then colored in the center with the Whisper White Watercolor Pencil. I free-handed the ears for Claire’s bunny.

Me and Me, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This is the top of the inside of the card and then I wrote on the bottom of the inside of the card! Claire really didn’t want to spread that thumb out so her hand has 4 fingers and a blob. I love it though and Brad does too!!! I’m sure these will get even more crazy as the years go on! Let’s hope I can keep coming up with more ideas!

I hope you all have a wonderful day today and leave your Birthday Wishes for Brad in the comments and I’ll read them to him tonight!

Froofy Shmoofer Card!!!

Posted on

My husband names this card the Froofy Shmoofer card!!! I say that works, right?? Either way it’s a great card for any occasion, even Christmas!

Froofy Shmoofer, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I started with a Soft Sea Foam card base. Next, I took a piece of Whisper White (4″ x 5-1/4″) and stamped the greenery piece from the First Frost Stamp Set. It is stamped in Tranquil Tide Ink. I started on the side and stamped it up high, flipped it over and stamped it towards the bottom and over and over. This creates a more random pattern. Then I added a little strip of the Frosted Floral Designer Series Paper across the center.

Detailed Greeting, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Using just a little bit of adhesive in the center of the designer paper, I then added a little bit of the Tranquil Tide Mini Ruffled. Don’t worry if it doesn’t seem secure because the greeting will also help hold it in place. For the greeting, I stamped it from the First Frost Stamp Set in Tranquil Tide Ink. Then I took another greenery piece form the set and stamped it over the top in Soft Sea Foam Ink. Then, I punched a few Soft Sea Foam sprigs with the Sprig Punch. I added these on opposing corners. I added the greeting to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

This card would be a perfect for a winter wedding, Christmas, or even a just because. What occasion would you use this card for?? Let me know in the comments below!

May Your Christmas Be Bright!!!

Posted on

Happy Wednesday!!! I know tomorrow is Thanksgiving and here I am sharing a Christmas card. I have so many to share and Thanksgiving cards are probably already complete and ready to go so…..May Your Christmas Be Bright!!!!

May Your Christmas Be Bright, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I got the idea for this card from our team event back in August – Vacation Stamping School. The sample was a smaller card and just a little gold glimmer banner. I changed it up and made it a full size card!!

First, I started with a Real Red card base. Next, I cut a piece of the All Is Bright Designer Paper into a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece. Using the Making Christmas Bright Stamp Set, I stamped the lightbulbs and stars all over the background. Be sure to fall off the edges so that it looks like the pattern continues. I used Real Red Ink for the bulbs and shine. The end of the bulb was stamped in Call Me Clover Ink and the stars in Crushed Curry Ink. Then I added this to the card front!

Punched Greeting, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Now for the greeting, I added a strip of Gold Glimmer Paper across the card front. Then I took a piece of Whisper White cardstock and stamped the “Bright” in Real Red Ink. Next, I stamped the “May Your Christmas Be” in Call Me Clover Ink just above it. For the final step, I stamped the wreath around the greeting in Crushed Curry Ink. All of these  are from the Making Christmas Bright Stamp Set. It really helps that these stamps are photopolymer so you can line them up better. Using the 2-1/4″ Circle Punch, I punched out the greeting and added it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals!!!
