Corrugated Creation!!!

Masculine Birthday Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

So if you have been following me for even a week, you know I am IN LOVE with the Rose Wonder Bundle! I love the greetings and the flowers! You might look at it and think it’s flowers and girly. While I would agree, I like to think out of the box and see if I can create some Man Cards with it as well. I DID IT!!!

I started with a card base of Pear Pizzazz and stamped the leaf from the Rose Wonder Stamp Set (Bundle & Save 15%) in Pear Pizzazz. I also die cut some of the leaves from the coordinating Rose Garden Framelits and added those to the card front. I used the Fine Tip Glue Pen to adhere them. Then I added a strip of the Corrugated Kraft Paper. This paper is super fun because it adds texture to your project but it isn’t too bumpy and it cuts super easy with the Stampin’ Trimmer! It has a very masculine look to it as well! For the greeting, I stamped the label in Pear Pizzazz and the greeting in Crumb Cake and then die cut it with the Rose Garden Framelits! I added the greeting with Stampin’ Dimensionals!

I have done lots of cards with this bundle, you can check them out by clicking here, here, and here! Let me know which one your favorite is in the comments below!

Masculine Flowers!?!?

Posted on

Made My Day, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Looking at the Flowering Fields Stamp Set, I start dreaming of all the beautiful colors of flowers I can create. Then I saw this fabulous sample from fellow stamper Rae Anne and thought it was amazing!!! It’s blues and greens and no foo foo ribbon or bling so that means it is a man card, right???

I started with a Crumb Cake card base. I added strips of cardstock in Tempting Turquoise, Pacific Point, Garden Green, and Cucumber Crush. The strips measure 4″ x 1-1/2″. Each strip is stamped with one of the images from the Flowering Fields Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set in the same ink color as the cardstock. I love the subtle outline. Then I took a piece of Crumb Cake measuring 5-1/2″ x 1/2″ and stamped a greeting from the A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Set. I added my own flare with some Candy Dots since they add a little texture and fun!

What do you think – is it masculine??? Who else thinks it would be fabulous with shades of yellow, pink, red, or orange? Let me know in the comments below!!!

Memories In The Making!!!

Posted on

Awesome Emboss Resist, www.LaurasStampPad.com

The Memories In The Making Project Life Card Collection is one of the items that you can earn for FREE through Sale-A-Bration!!! I thought the cards were super fabulous because many of them are window sheets with frames and borders and amazing designs. There are a few that are gold on one side and silver on the other. WOOT WOOT! I love how there is something for everyone there. The other pieces have embossed prints on them so you can have fun and add color for an emboss resist technique. Love it!!!

The card above uses one of the embossed patterns and I brushed over it with an Elegant Eggplant Sponge Dauber to give it some color. Since the card is 4″ x 6″, I had to cut it down a bit (4″ x 5-1/4″). I added some Whisper White Cotton Ribbon. For the greeting, I used the Big News Stamp Set. I layered it onto Elegant Eggplant and added it to my card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I thought it needed a little bling so I added some Dazzling Details to all of the little dots in the scroll. 🙂

Project Life Card Collection, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I didn’t want to waste that little strip that I cut off so I created this card. I took another Memories In The Making Card, stamped the greeting from the Tin Of Cards Stamp Set in Stazon Ink and added it to my card front once it dried. Be very careful when stamping on Window Sheet as it can be slick and want to slide all over. Straight up and down! This is one of those cards that the dotted wreath is gold on the back side. I’m a silver girl though! 🙂 Since you can see adhesive on Window Sheet, I just added it to the left hand side where the patterned paper is. It is held securely with Tear & Tape so I don’t have to worry about it coming off!

Awesome Ombre, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I wanted to do another one so I took another Card from the Collection that was embossed stripes. I used my Sponge Daubers to add color in this amazing ombre pattern. I used Bermuda Bay, Island Indigo, and Night of Navy. I loved how it turned out. I wrapped some Silver Metallic Thread around a few (hundred) times on the left hand side and tied a knot. I added it to a Bermuda Bay card base and did the awesome greeting again from the Big News Stamp Set. Perfect Man Card!!!

Memories In The Making, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Then with the little strip that I had to cut off, I created this card. Again I took one of the Window Sheet Cards and stamped in Craft White Ink with the Tin of Cards Stamp Set. I adhered it on with Tear & Tape under the strip of ombre! I love how these turned out!

You can use Project Life Card Collections for greeting cards and memory keeping. They are so much fun and so versatile. You can check out a few of my Project Life Album Pages here!

Technique Tuesday – Confetti Fun!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! That means I have a fabulous technique to share with you today!! We will be coloring on an embossed image and it is so much fun!!! Check this out!

Sponged Embossed Confetti, www.LaurasStampPad.com

How cute…or manly….is this card? I think this would make a great Man Card and many would probably say a Man Card isn’t described as cute. 🙂 You could use any combination of colors to match the occasion. You could do school colors for a graduation card, wedding colors for wedding or the recipients favorite color for Birthday, Just Because, or Thank You!!! I love it!!

SUPPLIES NEEDED: Embossing Folder, Sponge Daubers, Ink Pads

I took a piece of Whisper White cardstock measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″ and ran it through the Big Shot in the Confetti Embossing Folder from the Occasions Mini Catalog! Then I took my Sponge Dauber and Ink Pads and lightly brushed over the embossed portion. I went in a circular motion to keep in little sections but you could always go back and forth or whichever way you like best. I used Pacific Point, Pumpkin Pie, and Cucumber Crush for this card! Then I placed it onto a Cucumber Crush card base. Since the center is smooth in this folder, I used my Oval Framelits for the greeting! I stamped the greeting from the Party Wishes Stamp Set in Pacific Point. I stamped it on Whisper White and layered it onto Pumpkin Pie. You could always just stamp the greeting directly onto the embossed piece! The greeting is attached to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals! How simple is that? I love it!

Leftover Winter Wonderland!!!

Posted on

Happy Monday everyone!!! Are you still in a Christmas coma with all the presents, food, family, and chaos?? Now that Christmas is over, it is time to get into that craft room and enjoy some time for you!!! I had leftover Designer Series Paper from the Holiday Mini Catalog and so I came up with a few simple cards to create for all occasion!!!

Anniversary Cards, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I used Melon Mambo for the card base – my favorite color! I added the pieces of gold and white Designer Series Paper from the Winter Wonderland Pack. I got out my ribbon scraps and some were long enough to tie a knot and the others were shorter so I just wrapped. I hid the ends under the greetings. For the greeting, I used the Blessed By God and Decorative Label Punch! I thought these would make great wedding or anniversary cards!!!

Birthday Trees, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I thought these trees looked very manly and we all know I struggle with man cards! I used Pool Party and Island Indigo for these (it’s what I had pre-cut already). The Winter Wonderland Designer Series Paper is 4″ x 5-1/4″. I used Whisper White Baker’s Twine, Pear Pizzazz Cotton Ribbon and Whisper White Satin Stitched Ribbon! For the greeting, I used the Happy Birthday Everyone Stamp Set and die cut with the Deco Label Framelits!!!

Golden Aniversary, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Can you tell I’m low on Anniversary Cards? 🙂 Here I used Rich Razzleberry card bases. I used leftover pieces of Whisper White Organza Ribbon and Gold Metallic Thread. I also brushed the edges of the greetings with a Sponge Dauber.

Let me know which style is your favorite in the comments below!!!! Do you like to save your Holiday Paper for next year or use it up like I did?

November 2015 Paper Pumpkin!!!

Posted on

November Paper Pumpkin, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I know I probably sound like a broken record but I loved the November Paper Pumpkin! The Cherry Cobbler Pearls are AMAZING!!! I love how the kit included images (holly and mistletoe) that weren’t really in any of the stamp sets in the Holiday Mini Catalog! This means that these cards are totally different than all of the others I have created! AND if you don’t need Holiday Cards you could always make some great masculine cards with the Old Olive stripes and Crumb Cake card bases!

Green Stripes Greeting Cards, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This kit came with 10 total cards – 5 Old Olive Stripes which I have pictured above! I decided not to do the cards exactly like the instructions. I mixed it up a little doing some side ways and both styles on the stripes! I preferred my holly berries to be clustered in groups of 3 rather than randomly placed as well! I used my Sponge Daubers on a few to accent the edges with a little bit of color too!

Crumb Cake Holiday Cards, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Here are the 5 Crumb Cake Cards! You can see I mixed them up in style as well! I used the backside of some of the squares for a stamped greeting rather than the patterned paper! It was so much fun! Also, aren’t those envelopes to die for??? LOVE THEM!!!

November Paper Pumpkin, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Here are a few up close looks at some of the styles!!!

Monthly Craft Kit, www.LaurasStampPad.com

After making the 10 cards, I had so many extra pieces that I was able to make these 4 cards as well! I cute 2 pieces of Whisper White cardstock in half. I added in a little bit of Merry Moments Designer Series Paper as well!

I can’t wait to see what the December Kit is going to be! I love the surprise of it all and the fact that it is wrapped all in tissue paper like a present. Rustic Wonderland!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!!! That means I have a fabulous technique to share with you today and this one is super simple and yet packs a punch of a fabulous look!!! Have you ever wanted a forest look or a bouquet of flowers look but don’t know how to achieve it without making your card look like a mess of stamping?? I have the tip (or technique) for you!!!Silent Night Rustic Forest, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I love the look of this card with the forest behind the greeting. There is texture and variation which makes it look more real. The trick is stamping multiple times without going back to the ink pad!!!!

SUPPLIES INCLUDED: Wonderland Stamp Set, Linen Tread, Deco Labels Framelits, Big Shot, Markers

I started with a Garden Green card base measuring 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″. Then I took a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″ and stamped with Garden Green the trees from the Wonderland Stamp Set which is in the Holiday Mini Catalog. Stamp the trees down and then move it a little to the left or right and also a little up or down to give that variation and stamp again. Then move a little again and stamp again. I stamped 3 times in different spots with each inking. Be sure to go both side to side and up and down so the trees aren’t just straight across! It’s as simple as that. Then I wrapped some Linen Thread around the trees twice and tied a knot. For the greeting, I took a piece of scrap Very Vanilla and stamp the greeting from the Wonderland Stamp Set in Chocolate Chip. Then I took the pine branch and inked it with my markers. This allowed me to color the pine cones Chocolate Chip and then branch Garden Green! I stamped it once above and once below the greeting. Then I lined up the Deco Labels Framelit (2nd smallest one) and die cut it out. I then used the 2nd largest one to cut out a Chocolate Chip frame to layer with my greeting. I added this greeting piece to my card with Stampin’ Dimensionals!! I love it!!! It would make a great Man Card as well with a Birthday greeting…..might be making a few of those as well!!! 🙂

Do you want to see this technique in action? Here is a quick tutorial showing your how to create that forest look my stamping multiple times before re-inking. Be sure to give it a thumbs up if you like!!!

What is your favorite stamp set from the Holiday Mini Catalog or what would you like to see a sample using? Let me know in the comments below!!!

Woodgrain Wonder!!!

Posted on

Woodgrain Emboss Resist, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Are you wondering how I created this awesome woodgrain look??? I used the New Color Me Irresistible Specialty Designer Series Paper!!! This piece is the Tip Top Taupe woodgrain embossed piece. I used my Chocolate Chip Sponge Dauber to color the cardstock. This is how I got the two shades of brown. I love it!!! I just cut these stripes and added it to a piece of Mossy Meadow measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. I added this to a card base of Tip Top Taupe!! For the greeting, I used the Tin of Cards Stamp Set which is fabulous! I love a good scroll-y font!!! It is stamped in Mossy Meadow and then punched out with the Decorative Label Punch! I punched a piece of Chocolate Chip as well to layer it. I cut the chocolate chip one in half. Then add adhesive to the back of the white greeting piece and add one of the chocolate chip pieces to the top and the other to the bottom. Then you can adhere it to your card with Stampin’ Dimensionals!!! It is as simple as that!! The woodgrain makes a wonderful man card, fence, furniture and so many other great looks on a card or box!!!!

If you would like to see all of the paper in the Color Me Irresistible Designer Series Paper Pack and adding color to the paper, check out the video below! Be sure to give it a thumbs up if you liked it!!! You can also see some more cards created with this paper here!!

Hey Dude!!!

Hey Dude Paper Pumpkin Man Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I think I’m really starting to like Gray a little more lately! Do you ever have a color that you don’t use for awhile and then when you do, you find yourself reaching for it a lot??

For this card, I used a Whisper White card base. I took a piece of Bermuda Bay and ran it through the Big Shot with the Polka Dot Embossing Folder. Then I took my Sponge Dauber and colored the raised dots a little for a darker look!!! I love sponge daubers! I added that to the card front. I used the Banner Triple Punch to create the banner tips in the gray striped paper from the Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack!!! For the circles, I used the Circle Framelits which layer so perfectly together. I stamped the Dude greeting from the April Paper Pumpkin Kit in Bermuda Bay and then stamped it a second and third time without re-inking the stamp. I love the ombre look! After stamping the Dude, I added in the Hey! Of course the circles were added to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals! I thought it needed a little something more so I added the little bow with some Basic Gray Baker’s Twine! Does this mean it isn’t manly anymore?? Let me know in the comments below!

Watercolor Wishes Card Kit!!!

Posted on

Okay everyone, you know I like to be honest with you on Stampin’ Up’s kits…..some are hard but still rewarding and some are not my style and some are amazing!!! PS: I still have the flower bouquet in my kitchen and I love it but memories of putting it together still haunt me. Oh my that was a long process! With the new Stampin’ Up Catalog came LOTS of kits and I couldn’t wait to try them all out!!! You can check out the Tin of Cards here which was lots of fun and the tin is adorable! Then there is the Sweet Stack Kit which I have assembled and will be posting about that next week but until then you can check out this video! Then there is the Watercolor Wishes Project Kit…….I LOVE this one for a couple of reasons. 1. It includes everything you need in the kit – stamps, embellishments, and ink!!!! 2. The Stamp Set is amazing. You know I’m a sucker for a scroll-y font!!! Then I made all 20 of the cards in 65 minutes and really fell in love!!! Here they are for you to check out and fall in love! Watercolor Wishes Card Kit, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I used the provided instructions a little bit but then added my own flare on a few of them. For example, I didn’t embellish that Hello card in the middle at all. Also, I LOVE ombre so I had to do that a few times as well! I think I mixed up almost all of the die-cut stickers as well because I didn’t like one of the color combinations and so that threw them all off.

Watercolor Cards, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Okay so looking back at that center card, I’m even more in love. It is just STUNNING in it’s simplicity and with a little bling from the sequins! Another card that I changed up was the one on the far left. I left off the heart wooden accents because I thought it looked like a great Man Card.

Wooden Accents, Butterflies and hearts, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Here is the final set of all 20 cards…..by the way did you notice that it is 20 different cards and not X number of X style. Yeah, twenty different styles. LOVE IT!!! I did time myself just to see how long it took to do this kit and at the hour mark I still had 2 more to go so it ended up taking 65 minutes. That isn’t bad at all. The other awesome thing is look at all of these leftovers!!!!

Card Kit Leftovers, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Stampin’ Up always provided so much product in each of the kits. I still have Stampin’ Dimensionals, flowers, stickers, tons of Washi Tape, wooden accents and sequins left. Also, don’t forget I still have a fabulous stamp set and 2 ink pads. LOVE IT! To see all of the goodies in this kit, you can check out my Unboxing and Reveal Video here!!!! (Be sure to subscribe to my YouTube Channel because I’m almost at 1,000 and I will be doing a fabulous give-away when that happens)

Have you tried any of the kits? Which one is your favorite and why??? Let me know in the comments below!
