Technique Tuesday – Rosettes!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! That means I have a fabulous technique to show you and I thought I would keep the Big Shot Fun rolling!!! So this technique uses the Rosette Designer Die and I will show how to make fabulous Rosettes!!! PS: If you missed out on all of the Big Shot Fun last week, click here!

Designer Rosettes, Name Tag, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Aren’t these adorable? I am using them for my Bridal Events as name tags but you could always create a wreath out of them or an amazing backdrop or even a gift tag!

SUPPLIES NEEDED: Cardstock, Big Shot, Rosette Designer Bigz XL Die, Extended Cutting Pads, Silicone Craft Mat, Glue Gun, and embellishments to decorate

For the Rosettes above, I cut 2 pieces of cardstock measuring 1-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ because I wanted a little Rosette. You will need 2 pieces of cardstock because otherwise the rosette is too tight and it will not reach around without ripping. The more pieces you use, the fuller your rosette will look. If you want a larger rosette you will make your cardstock pieces wider. Once I had my cardstock ready to go, I placed them on the Rosette Designer Die with at least one end on a crease line, this way I knew it was lined up straight. Run it through your Big Shot and then start folding on the lines in a mountain/valley pattern. Then you will bring out your Silicone Mat and Hot Glue Gun. You can use the hot glue or Sticky Strip or the new Fast Fuse to connect your ends with each other. You will want to connect them so that they keep the mountain/valley. Now you will take your hot glue gun and squeeze out a big glob of it onto your Silicone Mat, then place the rosette on top of the the hot glue, placing the center of the rosette on the glue. Hold for a few seconds, allowing it to cool and then you have your perfect rosette and you can decorate as you wish! I added some Blackberry Bliss Satin Stitched Ribbon and Venetian Crochet Trim, adhering it with more hot glue. Then for the greeting I used the I love you from the Good Greetings Stamp Set which is a Hostess Special Set that you can earn starting on August 28th! I stamped it on Very Vanilla cardstock and punched it out with my 1-3/4″ Circle Punch and layered it onto a Blackberry Bliss Scallop Circle Punch. For the other one, I used a greeting from a Demonstrator Set that I have so I could have little name tags! I used the Decorative Label Punch for that one!

Okay so I may have lost you on the directions above so I have created a Video Tutorial to show you how to create these amazing little rosettes! Be sure to give the video a thumbs up if you like it and want to see more Video Tutorials!

Don’t forget about the Big Shot Special that ends on August 31st! Also, if you want to earn the Good Greetings Stamp Set for FREE, click here to book your party/stamp class today!!!

Big Shot Promotion – Top Note Treat Topper!

Posted on

Happy Big Shot Fun Week! If you missed out on the rest of this week, click the day to see Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday! Today I am showing you ways to use your Top Note Die for an adorable treat topper!

Top Note Tag Topper, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This little treat bag is adorable! At first I added in the piece of Pool Party cardstock in the bag just so you could see the clear bag better but I kept it in there because it gives a great background to the treats! 🙂 I used the Top Note Die for the tag topper and just folded it in half! If you are using a smaller bag, you can always fold it the other way! The Top Note was done in Pear Pizzazz and then I stamped the greeting from Million & One in Basic Gray! Fabulous! I then punched out 2 butterflies – Elegant Butterfly Punch with Pool Party and Bitty Butterfly Punch with Pear Pizzazz. Layer your butterflies and attach to the treat topper with a Stampin’ Dimensional and then add a few Rhinestones for some bling! These treats would be perfect for teachers (Happy Back to School), neighbors, party favors, etc! To see this project in action, check out the Video Tutorial below! Don’t forget to give me a thumbs up if you like it and want to see more videos like this!

There are so many times that you need a fabulous treat bag – school treats, teacher gifts, neighbor gifts, goodies for the Holidays, party favors, and gatherings!!! It is a must that it looks super cute, right? YES! And that it is super simple? YES! I’m here to save the day for all of your upcoming occasions or treat bag needs!!!

Watercolor Wonder Washi Tape Bag & Tag, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Boom…Problem Solved!!! How amazing is this treat bag!?!?!

All you need are some 4″ x 6″ Cellophane Bags, Washi Tape (I used Watercolor Wonder Washi Tape) and a tag! The Washi Tape on the bag is super simple because it tears so you don’t even need scissors and I just overlap mine on the back side! For the tag, I used my Chalk Talk Framelits, a strip of Washi Tape, and stamped Sweet Treats from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set! I love how the Chalk Talk Tag is notched so you don’t need to attach it with ribbon but just notch it around the top of the bag!!! To close the bag, I used my Gold Baker’s Twine and then took a needle to the ends to fray it and make it look fuller!

Tag Topper Treat Bag, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Here is another fabulous treat bag! This one is decorated with an adorable tag using the Scallop Tag Topper Punch! I then decorated the tag with my Papillion Potpourri Stamp Set and greeting from my Perfect Pennants Stamp Set! I closed this bag with some Whisper White Baker’s Twine in a double knot. Then I added the tag with the ends of the Baker’s Twine in a loop! These fabulous treat bags were made for a Mother/Daughter Banquet! See….cute treat bags are needed everywhere!!!

Technique Tuesday – Treat Basket

Posted on

Happy Tuesday everyone!!!! You know what that means…..I’m sharing a fabulous technique with you! This week it is the adorable little basket! You can use it for candy, treats, homemade goodies, or any type of gift!!! It is always fairly quick and simple too!

Treat Basket Tutorial, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Supplied Needed: Cardstock, Scissors, Scoring Tool (Stampin’ TrimmerSimply Scored Tool, or Bone Folder), Sticky Strip, Hole Punch, Brads, decorations/embellishments, and TREATS!

Using an 8” x 8” piece of cardstock, you will score at 2”, 4”, and 6” on both sides of the square. This will give you 2” squares all over. Cut up 2” to the first score line on all sides. This will make the corners fall off. Apply Sticky Strip to one of the squares on all four sides. Fold the sides together to make a point (overlapping 2 squares together). For the handle, cut a ½” x 8” piece of cardstock and attach with brads. Decorate as you wish! I used the Scallop Circle Punch on all four sides. Then I stamped the butterfly from Papillion Potpourri and punched it out with my Elegant Butterfly Punch. Of course I attached the butterfly with Stampin Dimensionals to add some texture and allow for bending the wings forward!!! Super cute and it would look great as treats for a Bridal Shower, Baby Shower, or any other events with Treat Bags. You could always put the name of the guest on one of the sides and it could double as a place card!!! Here is a video for you to watch how this was created!!! Decorated Mason Jars!!!!

Mason Jars are so cute to me and what is even better is how useful they are!!! I have done lots of decorated mason jars for various gift ideas like adding layered cookie mixes, adding actual cookies or candy, adding a few gift items like nail polish and a nail kit, and so many more fabulous ideas! Another great idea is to use them at parties. You can create a layered dessert in them, add some of the items listed above as a party favor or use for the drinks at the party! The possibilities are endless!

Decorated Mason Jars, www.LaurasStampPad.com

How cute are these? I have decorated the one on the far left with a Tea Lace Paper Doily and then a punched circle piece of cardstock! The middle one is decorated with punched circles of cardstock on the lid and layered on the side with Ruffled Ribbon around the edge! Super adorable! The one on the right is the same Ruffled Ribbon tied around the jar and into a bow and some punched circles for the lid! You could add any type of greeting on the side to match you Bridal Shower, Wedding, Birthday or Gift theme! Greetings such as Thank you for coming, Happy Birthday, Enjoy your treats, and so many more! You can check out some of my other decorated mason jars here!

Magical Mason Jars!

Mason Jars, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Mason Jars seem to be HOT HOT HOT right now with the whole vintage, antique craze! I have taken the Mason Jar and added my own spin on it!! Last year a friend of mine asked me to help her create some Teacher Gifts for her children’s teachers! I was super excited and together we came up with these decorated Mason Jars! They make the perfect Teacher Gift because you can fill them with just about anything – candy, a gift card, little samples of lotion or anti-bacterial gel, layered cookie mix, and so much more! For Halloween, my friend layered candy corn and M&M’s! Super cute and different and the best part is the teacher can then use the jar for pencils, constant candy jar, and so many other things! You can decorate these jars using ribbon, tags, punches, cardstock or Designer Series Paper, and a stamp or two! The Pop And Place Tags Kit is perfect for decorating these! Hope this helps with some of your gift packaging or gift ideas this season!

Trick or Treat?!?!?

Posted on

While I’m not a huge fan of Halloween, I do enjoy the candy!!! We don’t get a lot of trick-or-treaters out where we live but the ones we do get are spoiled! I love making adorable packaging for my candy!!! It is super fun and so cute! I, also, send yummies to all of my nieces and nephews because who doesn’t love getting mail AND candy?

Halloween Muslin Bag, www.laurasstamppad.comThis little bag is one of our new Muslin Bags from the Holiday Mini Catalog! They are just the right size for a small gift, candy, or homemade treat! I decorated this bag with the Simply Created Create-A-Banner Kit using the polka dot template and my sponge daubers! You could always add some ribbon and a tag too! Don’t forget these would be fabulous for a countdown to Christmas as well. Put the little treat in the bag for each day! And the best part is that the bag is big enough to hold just about any small gift (rather than those little bitty boxes usually used for the countdown)!

Treat Bag, www.LaurasStampPad.comThis little bag is actually a thick paper bag (Tag A Bag Gift Bags) perfect for a cookie or other handmade treat, gift card, or Stampin’ Up buttons, brads, etc. I used the Tag A Bag Accessories Kit which includes the fabulous printed tags and Baker’s Twine! It also comes with self-adhesive strips which are perfect for closing up the back of the bag. Simple and cute! Hope these ideas help you with your Holiday Treats!
