Copper Craziness!!!

Copper Foil, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Okay so when I first saw the Copper, I thought well that’s nice and I might start using it. Now that I have started using it, I’m in LOVE!!! It is like the perfect shade for anything! It isn’t yellowy like gold and it isn’t white like silver, it’s Copper! It looks amazing with the Regals Collection or typical fall colors. I say typical because lets be honest, any color can be used for any occasion or season.

For this card, I started with a Very Vanilla card base. I added a piece of Night of Navy cardstock (4″ x 5-1/4″) to the front. Then I took some Copper Foil Paper and die cut the floral images from the Paisley Framelits. I added each of them to the card front with the Fine Tip Glue Pen. This is the best adhesive because of the super fine tip and clear glue. I love it. For the greeting, I stamped it from the Number of Years Stamp Set in Night of Navy Ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock. I layered the greeting onto some more Copper Foil and added it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals for a little texture and depth! Simple and yet fabulous! You could use this style for any occasion!

If you would like to see more samples using the Paisleys Suite, check out the samples here, here, and here!

Do you love Copper, Silver, or Gold? Or all 3? Let me know in the comments below! I have always been a silver girl and still wear silver jewelry but I have been crafting a lot with gold because it’s so “in”. Now we have copper so that might be my new favorite!

Lovely Layers!!!

You Make My World Brighter, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I am loving these rich colors in the Petals & Paisley Specialty Designer Series Paper Pack. I am so not a fan of Delightful Dijon but together with these colors, I’ll use it!!! Thank you Stampin’ Up for helping me branch out!!!

I started with a card base of Rich Razzleberry and added the Petals & Paisley Specialty Designer Series Paper to the front. The paper does it all that you don’t need much more so I went simple. I stamped the greeting from the Paisleys & Posies Stamp Set in Rich Razzleberry onto Very Vanilla cardstock. Isn’t that greeting just amazing? I love it! It is perfect for an anniversary card or thinking of you card or random card you send to brighten someone’s day. Then for the focal point, I stamped various circle images from the same stamp set onto scrap vanilla paper and die cut them with the coordinating Paisley Framelits (Bundle & Save 10%). I stamped the first (biggest one) in Mint Macaron onto the greeting piece. The next layer is in Delightful Dijon and I adhered that one with Snail Adhesive. The next layer in is Rich Razzleberry and I added it to the card with a Stampin’ Dimensional for more texture and dimension. The last layer was stamped in Mint Macaron and added with Snail Adhesive. I finished it off with a Night of Navy Enamel Shape. It’s so beautiful and easy!!! I love it!

Layered Love, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I added a few more Enamel Shapes around the greeting to make it pop more! The Paisleys & Posies Stamp Set is so versatile. There are lots of ways you can use it. Check out more samples here, here, and here!

Petals & Paisleys!!!

Petals & Paisleys, www.LaurasStampPad.comStampin’ Up really makes some amazing Designer Series Paper. It steals the show and makes simple cards like these stunning!!! The color combination in the Petals and Paisleys Designer Series Paper is making me work outside the box but I am loving it. I never cared for Delightful Dijon until now!

I started with a Mint Macaron card base. Then I layered some of the Petals & Paisleys Designer Series Paper (3-3/4″ x 5″) onto Delightful Dijon cardstock and added some Mint Macaron Ribbon from the Trio Pack. I just laid the ribbon across the front and secured the ends on the back side and adhered it to the card base. For the greeting, I die cut one of the labels from the Lots of Labels Framelits. I stamped the greeting from the Paisleys & Posies Stamp Set in Rich Razzleberry Ink. I thought it needed a little bit more so I stamped the leaf from the same set in Mint Macaron on the top and bottom! It is the perfect accent. I added the greeting to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Simple and fabulous!!!

Flirty Flamingo Flowers!!!

Posted on

Hello Jar, www.LaurasStampPad.com

My obsession for pink and flowers continues!!! This card is such a beauty. I got the inspiration for it from a fellow demonstrator in the Netherlands – Tinie. Thank you for the amazing idea!

I started with a card base of Flirty Flamingo! Then I took a piece of Whisper White measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″ and stamped the jar and greeting from the Jar of Love Stamp Set in Basic Black Archival Ink. To get the light blue hue in the jar, I brushed over it with an Aqua Painter and some Pool Party Ink. For the flowers, I stamped them onto scrap white cardstock from the Jar of Love Stamp Set. The large background flower image was stamped in Flirty Flamingo Ink and the inside cup looking flower piece was stamped in Watermelon Wonder Ink. I added the 3 little dots for the center of the flower in Basic Black. I really think those little black centers really make this flower come to life. I love it!!! I die cut all six of the flowers with the coordinating Everyday Jar Framelits (Bundle & Save 10%). Before adding the flowers to the card, I stamped the greenery from the Jar of Love in Pear Pizzazz. I actually bent the end of the stem around the clear block so the stem wasn’t as long and stamping all over my card. For the flowers, I added 3 flat to the card and 3 were popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love how that gives the bouquet dimension and texture. I stamped the bow in Daffodil Delight Ink and die cut it as well. I had to use some of the dimensional edge to pop up the bow!

If you would like to see more samples using the Jar of Love Bundle, check them out here, here, here, and here! I hope you are enjoying my love of flowers too!

Masking with the Swirly Scribbles!!!

Posted on

Snowflakes Masking, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I am loving this card and the super fun technique!!! I saw it at a Demonstrator Team Event and couldn’t wait to try it out! Thank you Kim Peck for sharing it with all of us! I was totally going for a winter snowy look here and love how it turned out. You could always do it larger and add a tree from Lovely As A Tree or another favorite set of yours!

I started with a piece of Whisper White (3-3/4″ x 5″) and masked off a rectangle. You can either cut out a rectangle from a piece of scrap paper like printer paper or this Post-It Note Tape which is super fun and easy. I tried to do it with Painter’s Tape and it was too sticky and ripped when I pulled it back off. You will want to use a thin mask and not cardboard because you will want the ink from the Sponge Brayer to go to the edge. Once you have your rectangle masked off, you will add Marina Mist to the entire section with a Sponge Brayer. Continue to roll over it until you get the shade that you would like. Remember that the harder you press, doesn’t mean the darker the color. Jut lightly roll over the ink pad and then over the cardstock and repeat as many times till you get the preferred color. Next, you will need to die cut the swirly image from the Swirly Scribbles Framelits. Place this over your rectangle and secure it on both ends so it won’t move on you while you are adding more ink. I rolled over this mask with Night of Navy Ink. Again, continue to go over the mask until you have the desired look. Once you are all done, you can take all of the masks off and decorate! You could do this same technique on a full piece of paper as a background as well…..so many possibilities!

Snowflakes, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the decoration, I stamped the greeting in Night of Navy from the Flurry of Wishes Stamp Set. I also stamped the snowflakes in both Marina Mist and Night of Navy and punched them out with the coordinating Snow Flurry Punch. I punched another set of snowflakes in Silver Foil Paper and off-set them with the stamped snowflakes. I wrapped some Silver Metallic Thread around the masked background portion of the card for a little bit of texture and bling. Then I added the snowflakes to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I layered this piece onto Night of Navy cardstock and then a card base of Marina Mist. This card is perfect for the Holidays and throughout the entire winter season! You could always change up the colors for lots of different looks!

Hello Beautiful!!!

Hello Flowers, www.LaurasStampPad.com

My love for flowers is just getting bigger and bigger. I LOVE these flowers and the details of the multi-step stamping!!! My heart just grew a size!!! 🙂

I started with a Whisper White card base and added a strip of Dapper Denim measuring 2″ x 5-1/2″ in the middle. I stamped the greeting in Dapper Denim from the Jar of Love Stamp Set. Then I took 3 little 1-1/4″ Whisper White squares and stamped the greenery in Cucumber Crush Ink. I layered each one onto a 1-1/2″ square in the following colors – Peekaboo Peach, Tangerine Tango, and Watermelon Wonder. I layered these together and added them across the Dapper Denim on the card. With some scrap white cardstock, I stamped the full flower image, stamping off once in each of the colors used above – Peekaboo Peach, Tangerine Tango, and Watermelon Wonder. Then I took the little cup looking inside flower piece and stamped it in the middle in full strength ink. The final step is adding the little flower centers which I stamped in Basic Black. Then I die cut the flowers with the coordinating Everyday Jar Framelits (Bundle & Save 10%)

Orange Flowers, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I added each of the flowers onto the matching square with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Of course I had to add a little texture and dimension to the card! 🙂 I love it!!! This card is perfect for so many different occasions. You could do the flowers in all the same color or in various shades of the same color (ombre style) or mix and match! What colors would you use??? I think shades of purple would be fabulous – Wisteria Wonder, Perfect Plum, and Elegant Eggplant! YES!! Let me know your favorites in the comments below!

Looking Who’s Turning 3!!!

Look Who's Turning 3, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I created this card for my niece who is turning 3 this month!!! It’s so bright and cheery!!! I love it!

I started with a Daffodil Delight card base. Then I took a piece of Flirty Flamingo (4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″) and layered on a piece of Affectionately Yours Designer Series Paper (4″ x 3″) on the bottom portion. I took a piece of Whisper White (4″ x 2-1/2″) and I stamped the “look who’s turning” from the Number of Years Stamp Set in Night of Navy. I added that piece to the top of the Flirty Flamingo and placed a strip of the Watermelon Wonder Mini Striped Ribbon across the card where the papers meet. Now you can adhere this to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I used dimensionals because well….why not? I love them…..but also because I wanted the card to look smooth and the ribbon would make it a little bumpy on the edges. I stamped the number 3 from the Number of Years Stamp Set onto scrap paper and used the coordinating Large Number Framelits to die cut it out. I stamped the Happy Birthday from the Number of Years Stamp Set in Night of Navy onto a scrap of white and added little banner tips to the end. Cut up in the middle and then cut diagonal from the corner to that center line for the perfect banner tips! I layered the greeting banner onto a Watermelon Wonder banner and added them to the bottom of the card! I love it! It is just precious and will be perfect for my niece…..let’s just hope I remember I already made this card for her and don’t give her a different one! 🙂

Birthday Cupcakes!!!

Best Things In Life Are Sweet, www.LaurasStampPad.com

My birthday month is over but there are still a few cupcakes left! 🙂 We should all celebrate our birthdays and every wonderful day that we have here!!! Celebrate, Smile, and Live Life to the Fullest!!!

This card starts with a Rich Razzleberry card base and I layered on a piece of the Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series paper to it. I used the piece that has the gold flecks. I love the little bit of bling. Then I took a piece of Whisper White measuring 1-1/2″ x 5-1/4″ and I stamped the greeting from the Sweet Cupcakes Stamp Set in Rich Razzleberry on the right hand top side. I added this to the center of the card front. With some scrap white paper, I stamped the cupcake liner in Tip Top Taupe. First image was stamped off twice, second image was stamped off once, and the third image is full strength Tip Top Taupe. The icing was stamped in Rich Razzleberry the same way. Check out this video for more on how to stamp the cupcake! I die cut the cupcake liner and icing with the coordinating Cupcake Cutouts Framelits (Bundle & Save 10%). I added the cupcake to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals for a little texture on the card. The Cupcake Cutouts Framelits also has the greeting “sweet” and “wish” in it so I die cut the sweet in Gold Foil Paper. I added the greeting to the card with the Fine Tip Glue Pen! I love that glue for the intricate images. It is super easy to use and works so well. I add a very small amount to the larger areas/ends of the image (like a little snail trail amount) and then press it onto the card and hold for 10 seconds to allow the glue to hold tight. Then if there is a spot that is still popping up, just stick the tip of the glue pen under there and add a smidge more. I love this card!!!

Tempting Techniques – Christmas Wreath!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! I’m coming off a Birthday high over here!!!! It was a wonderful day but we are back at it today with a fabulous technique!!! I’m going to show you how to create something out of the box with a fabulous stamp set – Jar of Love!!! This set is super versatile and those jars will be appearing in lots of upcoming sets as well. 😉 Stay Tuned!

Wonderful Christmas, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Okay, I am aware that Christmas is far off (not as far as you think) and we don’t need to start the season any sooner than retail outlets do but……. It is always good to get these cards done early so you can enjoy the holiday season! This card can be created with a set that might not look like a Christmas set too!!! I used the Jar of Love Stamp Set and coordinated Everyday Jar Framelits (Bundle & Save 10%)

I started with a Whisper White card base which I like to use for holiday cards because white is so easy to write in! Then I took a piece of Real Red cardstock measuring 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ and layered it onto the front. With a piece of Whisper White measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″, I stamped the greeting from the Wondrous Wreath Stamp Set in Real Red at the top! For the wreath, I took the branch stamp from the Jar of Love Stamp Set and added it to a clear block with the long stem wrapped around the block to the top side. I don’t want that long stem on my project so I just wrapped it around so it wouldn’t pick up ink. I love that about photopolymer stamps and how you can bend, omit, and play with different angles!

Bending Stamps For Wreath, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Then I inked it up in Cucumber Crush ink and stamped it in a circle towards the bottom of the card. Start on the bottom with the wreath going to the left or right and then work your way around. TIP: Punch out a circle in the size you want the center to be as a guide to go around so your circle doesn’t become and oval or get out of hand.

Wreath Stamping, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I added some of the Cucumber Crush Mini Striped Ribbon between the greeting and the wreath and added it to the card front! I stamped the bow from the Jar of Love Stamp Set in Real Red and die cut it with the Everyday Jar Framelits. I added it to the wreath with Stampin’ Dimensionals! For little items like this, you can cut the dimensional in half or use the outside border!

If you would like to see this in action, check out the Video Tutorial below or click here! Be sure to give it a thumbs up if you liked it and don’t forget to subscribe if you are new!

Precious Ombre Pinks!!!

Posted on

Ombre Sponge Brayer, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I loving the Pink and Yellow combination of this card with that little pop of copper bling in the washi tape!!! I love it!!!

I started with a piece of the Irresistibly Yours Designer Series Paper measuring 5″ x 3-3/4″. I used 3 different colors for the background (although it is hard to tell). The colors are Flirty Flamingo, Calypso Coral, and Watermelon Wonder and I added them ot the designer paper with a Sponge Brayer. I went diagonal and just rolled over the paper until I got the shade I loved. Remember pressing hard into the ink or onto your paper won’t make the color become darker. Just lightly roll in the ink and then lightly over the paper. If you want darker, just repeat that same move. Be sure that when you are moving to the next color, you will want to overlap the colors so they blend and don’t look like stripes. After you are done adding your color, wipe off the excess ink with a paper towel to make the embossed image POP! I added some of the Affectionately Yours Designer Washi Tape along the bottom (copper dots). Then, I layered this onto Daffodil Delight (4″ x 5-1/4″) and then onto a Flirty Flamingo card base! I die cut the flower from the May Flowers Framelit Set in Watermelon Wonder and added it to the front of the card with the Fine Tip Glue Pen! For the greeting, I used the Greatest Greetings Stamp Set and punched it out with the Classic Label Punch. I added the greeting to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals! I love it! This card would be perfect for any occasion – baby, birthday, wedding, just because!!!

What color combination would you use for this card? Pinks like mine? Blues? Greens? Purples? Multi-color? Let me know in the comments below!!!
