Emboss Cut Out, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card is perfect for any occasion. You could make multiples of this one in no time at all and add a greeting as you need them! It also uses up scraps which I love!!! I started with a Soft Sky card base. Then I took a piece of Very Vanilla measuring 4″ x 5-1/2″ and placed the 2nd to smallest Deco Labels Framelit in the center and ran it through the Big Shot. You can use this cut out piece for another project and take the frame and place it into the Elegant Dots Embossing Folder and run it through the Big Shot again! Now this is your frame for your card!!! I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere it to my card front BUT FIRST I laid it on the card front to stamp my greeting and then added the dimensionals and adhered it on. I did it in this order so that 1. I could line up my greeting in the center but not have it raised up hitting my greeting and 2. If I messed up the stamping, I could get another card base and try again without having do re-create the frame again as well. I used the greeting from the Thoughts & Prayers Stamp Set with Chocolate Chip ink. To finish off the card, I punched out Calypso Coral, Wisteria Wonder, and Daffodil Delight with the Petite Petals Punch and flower from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch! I added little Candy Dots to the center of the flowers coordinating with each color!! I really like how the Candy Dots add that little pop! Love it!!!

Technique Tuesday – Flower Patch!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! That means I have a fabulous technique to share with you today!!! This one is super exciting because it is all about FLOWERS!!! I just love stamping flowers and creating beautiful cards with them!!! This is no exception!!!!

Flower Patch, www.LaurasStampPad.com

How amazing is this card with the depth and texture and colors of the flowers??? I love it!!! So let’s get started on how it was created!

SUPPLIES NEEDED: Flower Patch Stamp Set, Flower Fair Framelits (Bundle & Save 15%), Elegant Dots Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Inks & Pearls

I started with a Whisper White card base measuring 4-1/4″ x 11″ and embossed the card front with the Elegant Dots Embossing Folder. Then I took scrap Whisper White pieces and stamped the flowers. The large center flower was done in Blackberry Bliss and the medium flower was stamped in Tempting Turquoise with the other flower on top stamped in Island Indigo. For the smaller flower, I stamped it in Crushed Curry and the smallest one (layered on top of the yellow flower) was stamped in Tangerine Tango. For the leaves, I stamped the solid image in Cucumber Crush and stamped off, then I took the center piece and stamped it also in Cucumber Crush (no stamping off). I then used the coordinating Flower Fair Framelits to cut out each of the flowers and leaves!!! No fussy cutting necessary here. I have a couple tips for finding the correct way to line up the flowers without spinning them around and around to see how it lines up. Check out the video below for those tips!! 🙂 I adhered the flowers with Stampin’ Dimensionals to a piece of Tip Top Taupe. I also stamped the greeting and little mini flower from the Flower Patch Stamp Set in Tip Top Taupe. I love it!!! You could use so many color combinations for a card like this and each one would be stunning I’m sure!! I finished off the flowers with a few Pearls!!! Love it!!!

Here is the Video Tutorial showing the tips and tricks on stamping and using the Framelits!!! I will be posting the other samples from the video soon! Be sure to subscribe to my blog in the upper right corner so you don’t miss out!!

Brick Wall Vines, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Is this card not super elegant and fabulous? What occasion would you use this card for?? Let me know in the comments below! I’m thinking Wedding or Anniversary or Birthday or a Wine Lover? It has that wine look doesn’t it?

For this card, I started with a piece of Very Vanilla measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. This piece is smaller in the sample above because I made a mistake with the sponge dauber and had to cut off some. 🙂 First, you will color the vine image from the Thoughts & Prayers Stamp Set with Elegant Eggplant and Mossy Meadow Markers! Since this is a larger image, you might want to huff on the image a little before stamping it down to re-moisten the ink. I stamped the image twice before inking it up again so I could have some color variation and so I didn’t have to color it as many time. Once it is all stamped, I ran it through the Big Shot with the Brick Wall Embossing Folder. You will want to make sure your cardstock is in the folder correctly….laying on the rectangle popped up pieces. I did do it the other way and it looked great as well but the sponge dauber hits more surface area so it came out darker.

Reverse Brick Wall, www.LaurasStampPad.com

After embossing the cardstock, I used a So Saffron and Soft Suede Sponge Dauber to add a little color and rustic look to the brick wall. Be sure to go really light so there aren’t streaks or blobs of color. To finish it off, I added some Gold Satin Ribbon to the bottom and attached it with Stampin’ Dimensionals to an Elegant Eggplant card base! Love it!!!

To see this all in action, check out my Video Tutorial below!! Don’t forget to give it a thumbs up if you liked it!!!

Don’t forget to let me know what occasion you would use this card for!!!

Technique Tuesday – Coloring with Aqua Painters!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday everyone!!! Today I have a fabulous technique to share with you!!! Every once in awhile I pulling out my Aqua Painter Marker and enjoy coloring…..usually flowers!!! Check out this beauty!!!

Aqua Painter Coloring, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I love Black and White with a POP of color….any color!!! Isn’t this card just amazing??? Now let’s get started!

SUPPLIES NEEDED: Whisper White Cardstock, flower or other line image stamp, Ink Pads, Aqua Painter, Stazon Ink

For this card, I did not use Watercolor Paper. I used regular Whisper White cardstock! I inked up the flower from the You’ve Got This Stamp Set in Stazon Black and stamped it onto a piece of scrap Whisper White cardstock! Then I used Tangelo Twist and Cucumber Crush Ink Pads to color the flower in. To keep my ink pads clean, I just take a clear block and stamp it into the ink pad and use that as my color palette. When using the Aqua Painter, be sure not to squeeze the barrel of the pen because that makes lots of water come out and you get a puddle on your project. Lightly swipe some ink from clear block color palette and then start coloring your image. The more you use it, the more the ink starts to get lighter and lighter, because of this you can start on the edges of your image and when the color is lighter, move into the middle. This will give more of a watercolor look. Once you are done with one color, just squeeze the barrel to allow more water to come out and wipe it into a paper towel. Then move to your next color. For the yellow center, I used a Crushed Curry Marker. I like a nice bold yellow color so I prefer to use the marker. You can set this aside to dry while you prepare your card. The card base if Tangelo Twist and then I layered a piece of Basic Black (4″ x 5-1/4″) on top with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then with a piece of Whisper White (3-3/4″ x 5″), stamp the same flower image from the You’ve Got This Stamp Set along the left side and top. Be sure to angle the flowers around for a slightly different look. I found that the more I overlapped the flower, the more of a mess it looked but that’s all up to you! The greeting is from the Happy Birthday Everyone Hostess Stamp Set. Oh how I love that large scroll-y font! Now for the “fun” part……fussy cutting that beautiful flower you colored!!! Once you are done cutting it out, you can add it to your card with Stampin’ Dimensionals! TIP: Cut some of the dimensional edge for those little leaves and tiny areas!!! Love it!!! I could create this card in every color!!!

New Summer Wreath!!!

Rainbow Flower Wreath, www.LaurasStampPad.com

My Spring Wreath was really looking worn so I needed something new! I couldn’t think of a good idea and I have been pretty busy lately so it kept getting pushed aside. I typed in Summer Wreath into Pinterest and saw lots of rainbow wreaths. That is when it hit me to punch some flowers and make my own rainbow wreath! I love it! I completed it in about 10 minutes. I used the Flower Medallion Punch and pulled out my scrap boxes for the cardstock!

Flower Medallion Punch, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I curled the edges of the flowers with my Bone Folder and then hot glued them to my wreath!!!

Wreath Assemble, www.LaurasStampPad.com

To finish it off, I added a little bit of Multi-Purpose Glue (green lid glue) to the center of the flowers and then dusted a little Dazzling Diamond Stampin’ Glitter over the glue! It really added a little shine to the flowers! I love how it turned out and it’s so bright and colorful!!!

Here is another photo of the wreath on the inside of my door….sometimes it looks better on white than dark gray! Love it!!!

Any ideas for a Fall Wreath??? Let me know in the comments below!!! It will be here before we know it!

Technique Tuesday – Masking!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday everyone!!! You know what that means…..I have a technique to share with you today! This one is fun….minus the fussy cutting……and super amazing!!! NOTE: Save the cut out flower in the stamp case for future use!!!!!

Flower Masking, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Isn’t this card stunning in it’s simplicity? You could use this technique for some many different styles of cards as well! Let’s get started on this masking fun!!!!

SUPPLIES NEEDED: Scrap Paper, Stamps, Ink

The supplies this week are super simple. All you have to do is stamp your image onto a piece of scrap paper. I used the flower from the You’ve Got This Stamp Set! You don’t need to cut it out perfectly or even exactly on the lines. You can do a general cutting around the edges cut. This is the hardest part……boo for fussy cutting! 🙂 Now this part you can do 2 different ways depending on your preference! I did the next step by placing the mask on my Whisper White cardstock and stamping the background image from the You’ve Got This Stamp Set over top. Your mask leaves an open spot for you to stamp the flower next without having the background image behind it! I had a stamper at class ask me how you would do it if you have the Wood Block You’ve Got This Stamp Set. For that, you would stamp your flower, lay the mask on top, and then stamp your background. This way you don’t have to worry about exact placement when stamping the flower. Now you are all set. Layer that onto a piece of Crumb Cake and then onto your Pool Party card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals! I thought the sides needed a little something so I finished the card off with a few pearls on each side!!! You could also rotate your flower the other way, adhere it higher on the card and stamp a greeting of your choice on the bottom!!! This card is perfect for lots of different occasions!!!

You could also do this technique and color in the flower or use a greeting in the middle rather than a flower. So many fun ways using the masking technique!!! If you would like to see this in action, check out my Video Tutorial below! Don’t forget to give it a thumbs up if you liked it!!!

Watercolor Wishes Card Kit!!!

Posted on

Okay everyone, you know I like to be honest with you on Stampin’ Up’s kits…..some are hard but still rewarding and some are not my style and some are amazing!!! PS: I still have the flower bouquet in my kitchen and I love it but memories of putting it together still haunt me. Oh my that was a long process! With the new Stampin’ Up Catalog came LOTS of kits and I couldn’t wait to try them all out!!! You can check out the Tin of Cards here which was lots of fun and the tin is adorable! Then there is the Sweet Stack Kit which I have assembled and will be posting about that next week but until then you can check out this video! Then there is the Watercolor Wishes Project Kit…….I LOVE this one for a couple of reasons. 1. It includes everything you need in the kit – stamps, embellishments, and ink!!!! 2. The Stamp Set is amazing. You know I’m a sucker for a scroll-y font!!! Then I made all 20 of the cards in 65 minutes and really fell in love!!! Here they are for you to check out and fall in love! Watercolor Wishes Card Kit, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I used the provided instructions a little bit but then added my own flare on a few of them. For example, I didn’t embellish that Hello card in the middle at all. Also, I LOVE ombre so I had to do that a few times as well! I think I mixed up almost all of the die-cut stickers as well because I didn’t like one of the color combinations and so that threw them all off.

Watercolor Cards, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Okay so looking back at that center card, I’m even more in love. It is just STUNNING in it’s simplicity and with a little bling from the sequins! Another card that I changed up was the one on the far left. I left off the heart wooden accents because I thought it looked like a great Man Card.

Wooden Accents, Butterflies and hearts, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Here is the final set of all 20 cards…..by the way did you notice that it is 20 different cards and not X number of X style. Yeah, twenty different styles. LOVE IT!!! I did time myself just to see how long it took to do this kit and at the hour mark I still had 2 more to go so it ended up taking 65 minutes. That isn’t bad at all. The other awesome thing is look at all of these leftovers!!!!

Card Kit Leftovers, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Stampin’ Up always provided so much product in each of the kits. I still have Stampin’ Dimensionals, flowers, stickers, tons of Washi Tape, wooden accents and sequins left. Also, don’t forget I still have a fabulous stamp set and 2 ink pads. LOVE IT! To see all of the goodies in this kit, you can check out my Unboxing and Reveal Video here!!!! (Be sure to subscribe to my YouTube Channel because I’m almost at 1,000 and I will be doing a fabulous give-away when that happens)

Have you tried any of the kits? Which one is your favorite and why??? Let me know in the comments below!

Pastel Perfection!!!

Flowers and Lace, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This is a new color combination I reached for and I am loving it!!! I know I’m usually a Brights Girl but every once in awhile I go light!! This card uses Mint Macaron and Blushing Bride! The soft colors make this card perfect for weddings, baby, sympathy, thinking of you, birthday, and everything in between! I love it!!!

I started with a Mint Macaron card base and just started adding layers. The Blushing Bride layer is 4″ x 5-1/4″ and the Whisper White layer is 3-3/4″ x 5″. I used the You’ve Got This Stamp Set for the images and Endless Birthday Wishes for the greeting! I adhered the white stamped piece to the Blushing Bride and then I wrapped the Mint Macaron Lace Trim around and tied a double knot. I am really loving this lace trim and I’m not really a lace person. This stuff is super easy to use, adorable and yet elegant, stretchy and thin so it lays flat. It is awesome!!! I layered the decorative piece on the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals!

What do you think of the color combination? What occasion would you use this card for? Let me know in the comments below!

Technique Tuesday – All Abloom Card Set!!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! That means I have a fabulous technique to share with you today. While it might not require a lot of tools or create a specific effect on your project, it will create a WOW!!!!! I love One Sheet Wonder Card Sets because you can get LOTS of cards from just one sheet of 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. Well today I’m going to show you how you can get about 40 cards with one pack of the All Abloom Designer Series Paper Stack. How amazing is that? Now I know 40 cards sounds like a daunting task but not when you are making multiples of the same style and when you are only sticking with a few colors.

All Abloom Card Set, www.LaurasStampPad.com

You have seen me post about these cards over the past week. You can check out those individual posts here:

You’re In My Thoughts, Hello, Just Because, Thanks So Much, Happy Birthday, With Sympathy

All of these cards use less than one sheet from the All Abloom Designer Series Paper Stack so that means I was able to create 4 each of these 6 cards (4 sheets of each pattern in the stack)! That makes 24 cards!!!!! Of course, all the left over scraps could be used for another card, right?

Quilt Look with Scraps, www.LaurasStampPad.com

How cute are these??? All of the strips are 1/2″ wide. I started with one strip towards the middle and stuck it down. Then I just worked my way out. There is no true technique to this, just play around and stick some strips of paper down! You could do this with any scrap pieces of Designer Series Paper you have laying around! 🙂 I know you have some! Some of the cards, I stuck to a few colors and others I used all of them! After you lay a few strips down, trim the edge and you can use that piece in another spot.

Quilt How To, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I was able to create 6 cards in this style so now we are up to 30 cards from the All Abloom Designer Series Paper Stack. There is still three patterns (4 sheets each) left in the stack as well as scraps. That is where you get the last 10+ cards. You could use these to re-create some of the styles above or create something totally new. Again, after you are done using the big pieces, use the scraps for more quilt cards! Want to see this all these cards in action? Check out my Video Tutorial here! Don’t forget to Subscribe to my Channel so you don’t miss out on any future videos. HINT: More One Sheet Wonders are on the way!

One of the reasons I love this style of card making is that I knew the colors I would be working with because they are listed on the front of the All Abloom Designer Series Paper Stack so there was no guessing or wondering. I pulled out those ink pads and cardstock as well as a few of my favorite greeting stamp sets and went to work! Also, I love that I was able to create cards for all occasions – Man Cards, Girl Cards, Birthday, Sympathy, Wedding, and Just Because! Love it!!!

Build A Bouquet!!!!

Posted on

Build A Bouquet, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Is this not the most gorgeous bouquet of flower you don’t have to water or worry about keeping alive??? While making this I didn’t know if it was really going to be worth it but now a month later, it was totally worth it! It has been sitting on our dining room table for over a month now and it sure brightens up the room. It helped me get through those gloomy winter days and even some of the gloomy spring days! I love it and the best part is it will never die!!!

You can make yours beautiful bouquet too!!! All you need is the Build-A-Bouquet Kit from the Occasions Mini Catalog, a hot glue gun and some pliers (totally recommend these). So now a little honesty from me….you all know I like to keep it real! This kit is not easy and takes lots of time but don’t let that scare you! I would highly recommend doing it with a friend or husband in my case because it will go much faster. I am not a hot glue gun pro at all and it seemed like all I did for hours on end was pick up the gun, dab it, set it down, attach flower, and then repeat 5 million times. Finally towards the end I enlisted my fabulous husband who was oh so excited (not) to help! He ran the glue gun while I attached and worked the flowers. This went soooo much better and I wish I would have done it sooner!

Paper Flower Bouquet, www.LaurasStampPad.com

You will also noticed in the catalog that there is a coordinating stamp set – Build A Bouquet Stamp Set! I’m not going to lie I got out the kit and read the instruction and was like Ops I didn’t get that stamp set…..so I improvised!!! For the big line image, I used my Hardwood Stamp Set and for the veins in the leaves I used my stem from the Lotus Blossom Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set. I also used the dots image from Gorgeous Grunge for the blue flowers. The other ones, I just omitted and think it turned out fabulous still!

Use the pliers for the wire bending, it is sooooo much easier! I was too lazy to go down to the basement and search for some so I just used my fingers. 1. It Hurts! 2. It doesn’t turn out the same! I took a few of the flowers to my parents house to work on while I was visiting since I really wanted to get this bouquet done by the next evening. I asked my mom if she knew where some pliers were and she immediately handed me some. I finished the flowers and was like “Oh wow, why did I not go get some a long time ago.” Ehh Lesson learned!

Build A Bouquet, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I didn’t care for how some of my flowers came out and I didn’t think it look all that great….maybe it was because I was tired and we always judge our own stuff so much more. After I put it all together I was in awe at how amazing it looked. I loved it and now a month later I still love it! I’m so glad I stuck with it and completed the kit! It was totally worth the the time and $25 I spent on it.

Have you purchased this kit? Have you completed it? What are your tips and tricks? How have you displayed your flowers? Leave me a comment down below!

Also, did you know that there is a Big Shot Die that makes all of these flowers? It is the Bouquet Bigz L Die! You can create as many flowers as you wish and in any color imaginable!!!!
