For Someone You Love!!!

Hello Life Love Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and it’s time to show how much you love someone! While that shouldn’t be the only time of the year you show your love, it is a very special day! Some may not like the holiday because they think it is too much or maybe you think you don’t have someone to share your love with BUT YOU DO! I love Valentine’s Day because it is my excuse to show EVERYONE how much I love them! If I gave a card like this to my Brother on a July 18th, he would think I have lost it but on Valentine’s Day (he still might roll his eyes) it is perfect! I think you should show your to everyone around you – Family, Friends, and even Strangers! Share your love!!!!

This card was created with some of the new items in the Occasions Mini Catalog! I started with a Real Red card base and then cut out a piece of Whisper White measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. I brushed the edges with my Real Red Sponge Dauber for a little softness and color! Then I stamped the greeting from the Hello Life Stamp Set! I love this set because it has amazing greetings and I love that long beautiful font. This stamp set is great for Memory Keeping as well because you can stamp that fabulous greeting right onto the bottom of your photo! Adorable! Also, I stamped the little hearts and added in a Rhinestone near both! I love my bling! For the banners, I used the NEW Stacked with Love Designer Series Paper! Okay, listen up! This paper is AMAZING! One side is hearts and pinks and corals, and goodies for Valentine’s Day or lovely items BUT the other side is Black and White!!!!! You know how I love my Black and White. I love this because you can purchase this paper and make a few Valentine’s Day cards and use some in your scrapbook for someone you love. Then usually you think what will I do with the rest of this paper pack. You will turn it over is what you will do! 🙂 Oh I love it! (Can you tell?) I cut a few pieces into strips and added the banner tips at the bottom. Add those to your Whisper White cardstock and then add this to your card front! All done! Perfect card for someone you love!

Technique Tuesday – Winter Wreath!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday everyone!!! That means I have a fabulous technique to share with you today and that is a fabulous winter wreath!!! After my Halloween wreath, I realized I needed to come up with something for the Holidays. After some thought and time going by, I realized that a winter wreath would be better and last longer than a Christmas one. Now I can keep this one up until the end of February or so.

Winter Wreath Rosette, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This is what I came up with!!!! What do you think?

SUPPLIES NEEDED: Foam Wreath, Burlap Ribbon, All is Calm Designer Series Paper, Rosette Designer Bigz XL Die, Big Shot, Hot Glue Gun, Embellishments (Ribbon, Buttons, All is Calm Snowflake Embellishments, Vintage Faceted Buttons)

I started by wrapping my foam wreath with the Burlap Ribbon! You can secure the ends with hot glue or straight pins. Be sure to go at an angle and make it just barely overlap or you won’t have enough to cover the wreath. Mine didn’t go all the way around but I covered up the missing portion with my rosettes. I did a class and some were able to cover all of it. You can always add more from another roll as well. Now it is time to make your Rosettes.

Smallest Rosette – One strip of Designer Series Paper: 1-1/2″ x 12″

2 Medium Rosettes – 2 strips of DSP for each Rosette: 2″ x 12″

Medium/Large Rosette – 2 strips of DSP: 2-1/2″ x 12″

Large Rosette – 2 strips of DSP: 3″ x 12″

Run each of the strips through your Big Shot with the Rosette Designer Die to get the folds for creating your Rosettes. Fold on the creases in a mountain/valley fold style. You can use your hot glue gun or some Sticky Strip to adhere the strips together and into a circle. To get your Rosette to stay down and not pop up, you will want to get our your Silicone Mat and put a glob of hot glue in the middle. Press your Rosette down onto the glob of glue right in the middle and hold while it cools. Once it is cool, it will pull right off and you are set. I did add a little scrap punched oval of cardstock to the back to cover up that glue spot and in case some of them still needed a little more stability. Once you are done with all of your rosettes, it is time to assemble them to your wreath. You can arrange them in the bottom right corner like I did or do 3 down there and 2 in the top left corner. You could even make lots of these rosettes and cover the entire wreath. Note: when assembling them to your wreath, place the glue on the wreath and place the rosette on top rather than putting the glue on the rosette. There were many times I would put it on the rosette and then realize that spot wasn’t even touching the wreath. 🙂 I added some Lost Lagoon Satin Stitched Ribbon, Vintage Faceted Buttons, and Snowflake Embellishments. You can always hang the wreath as is or you can add a ribbon loop. My ribbon loop was created with Whisper White Satin Ribbon. Love it!!!! Here it is on my front door!!!

Endless Wishes!!!!

Posted on

I just wanted to state that I do not have endless wishes of snowflakes. I thought I needed to make that clear; it is the stamp set name and not my wish! 😉 I have had lots of fun with this stamp set! Check this out!

Endless Wishes Snowflakes, www.LaurasStampPad.com

What do you think of the color combination? The snowflakes aren’t the traditional blues but instead Blackberry Bliss and Crumb Cake! I love it! I started with a Blackberry Bliss card base. I took a piece of Whisper White cardstock measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″ and randomly stamped all 3 of the snowflake sizes in Blackberry Bliss and Crumb Cake on the bottom 3/4 of the paper. Then I added the greeting on the top and placed a piece of Blackberry Bliss Satin Stitched Ribbon along the top of the stamped snowflakes. I added just a bit of Snail adhesive under the ribbon and tacked the ends to the back side as well. Add this to your card base and you are done! What other color combinations would you have used?? Leave me a comment down below!

Here is another simple card created with the Endless Wishes Stamp Set. I started with a Pool Party card base and added a strip of Silver Glimmer Paper (1/2″ x 5-1/2″). Then I took a piece of Whisper White cardstock and stamped some snowflakes and a greeting in Pool Party. A few of the snowflakes were “stamped off” snowflakes so they were a lighter color and gave a great texture look! To finish it off, I added a little strip of All is Calm Designer Series Paper. You know how you end up with lots of little piece of DSP but never know what to do with them….Solution! You could always use it in place of the glimmer paper as well! What are some of the ways you use up your Designer Series Paper?

Technique Tuesday – Gift Card Holders

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!!! December is officially here and that means the holidays are right around the corner! Today I’m sharing the technique of making adorable gift card holders!!!! This is another fabulous part of my Gift Packaging Series! You can check out other here, here, and here!

Gift Card Holders, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Aren’t these adorable?? Well they are quick and simple to make too and really spruce up the Gift Card!

SUPPLIES NEEDED: Cardstock, Sticky Strip, Score Blade, Corner Rounder Punch,  Designer Series Paper, Velcro and Stamps & Punches to decorate

Cut a piece of cardstock to 3 ½” x 8 ½” (you can make 3 gift cards holder from 1 piece of 8 1/2” x 11 cardstock)! Now score the cardstock along the 8-1/2″ side at 2 ½” from one end and 2” from the other end. Then cut 3 pieces of Designer Series Paper into the following: 3 ¼” x 1 ¾”, 3 ¼” x 2 ¼”, 3 ¼” x 3 ¾”. Fold on your score lines and you will place Sticky Strip along the edges of the 2-1/2″ side and adhere. This creates the bottom pocket! For the top flap, using your Corner Rounder Punch to round the two corners giving that soft look on the flap. You will want to round the corners on the smallest piece of Designer Series Paper too! Once you have done that, adhere that piece to the flap, the large Designer Series Paper piece to the back, and the medium piece to the pocket portion. Now take a little piece of velcro and place it on the top, middle of the pocket and close the flap to allow the top portion of the velcro to adhere to the flap. You can decorate the gift card holder as you wish! I like using my Label Love Stamp Set and matching Artisan Label Punch! The Designer Series Paper used in the photo above is the Trim the Tree Designer Series Paper Stack!!!! These are great for any occasion! If you would like to see this in action, check out the Video Tutorial below!!!! Don’t forget to give it a thumbs up if you like it!!!!

I hope you enjoyed this technique and try it out! Leave me a comment down below on which Designer Series Paper you like to use on your Gift Card Holders!

Holiday Holly!!!

Posted on

Wondrous Wreath Planter, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Last week I showed you how to use the Wondrous Wreath Stamp Set and matching Wonderful Wreath Framelits (Bundle & Save) for a Fall and Winter Wreath and Tuesday I showed you how to make garland! Today I’m going to show you how to make a window planter full of holly!

You will start with a piece of Garden Green cardstock measuring 4-1/4″ x 11″ and score along the 11″ side at 2-3/4″ and 8-1/4″ and fold those in. This created your gate fold card base! Next you will need 2 piece of the Plaid Designer Series Paper from the Trim the Tree Paper Stack measuring 2-1/2″ x 4″. Put some adhesive on the back of one piece of Designer Series Paper and attach one end of your Cherry Cobbler Sheer Linen Ribbon (7″) to the edge (outside edge, centered from top to bottom, see photo above). Now add additional adhesive and place it on the left side panel of your card base. Adhere the right side panel as well. Now you will pull the ribbon around to the front and next to the edge of the inside portion of the panel you will apply 2 strips of Sticky Strip as shown below! Cut the end of the ribbon diagonally or with banner tips!

Instruction Photo, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Now it is time to create the window! Just like on Monday’s sample, you will start with a 3-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ piece of Early Espresso cardstock and run it through the Big Shot with your Woodgrain Texture Embossing Folder! This adds a little texture to your window! Then place four 1″ Square Punched pieces on top to resemble a window! These will be your guide! You can punch your squares out of Post-It notes on the sticky end or just use some scrap paper and add a small dab of Snail Adhesive. Now using your 1″ Square Punch, you will slide the white square in and line up those scrap squares and punch! Now you have your window!

Now to create the curtain you will need some of the Garden Green checked Designer Series Paper from the Trim the Tree Designer Paper Stack. You will need three Large Oval Punches and you will cut one in half! Turn your Window frame over (face down) and apply Snail adhesive to the back side! You will place the two full ovals on the top two windows diagonally with the green check face down and then you will add the halves to the two bottoms. These bottoms ones are only slightly diagonal. Turn over your window and it should like to curtains (see photo above). Now you can pull the Sticky Strip backs off of your card base and center your window to the front of your card. Your window should only be adhered to your card on the left side so that your card can still open!

Now for the planter, you will need a piece of Garden Green cardstock measuring 3/4″ x 3″ and you will cut a diagonal from both ends to give the shape of the planter. Then using your Sponge Dauber, brush the edges of the planter with Early Espresso. Place two Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of the planter (towards the bottom, so your holly and be tucked under) and place it on your window. You will need 1 wreath for all of the holly in the planter. I used Wild Wasbi, Garden Green, and Cherry Cobbler for my wreath and Cherry Cobbler for the Ribbon! Check out this Video Tutorial to see how to stamp and die-cut your wreath!

Now you will cut the wreath into sections about 1″ or less long. You will want to cut along the leaves so it looks like real holly and leaves. Place 2-3 of your pieces in the planter (left, center, right) with Snail Adhesive. Then take the other 2 pieces and place them in between with Stampin’ Dimenionals to add texture and dimension. Adhere the ribbon to the center of your planter and you are all done!!!

Technique Tuesday – Joy & Noel!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!!! You know what that means….I have a have technique for you…..or trick/tip for you! So let’s get started on this amazing tip!

Wonderful Framelits, www.LaurasStampPad.com

So the trick I have for today focuses on the JOY in this card! These small little word Framelits can be difficult to pop out of the die because they are so thin and delicate. Of course there are little holes that you can use to poke through to pop it out but sometimes that leaves little dots on your letters. TIP: Lay a piece of wax paper on top of your Silver Foil Sheet and then the Die on top of that. Run it through the Big Shot and when it comes to popping it out – Easy Peasy! 🙂

For the rest of the card…..I started with a Cherry Cobbler card base! I added a 2-1/2″ x 4″ piece of Flower Pot Designer Series Paper on the bottom portion. The top portion of Whisper White measures 3-1/2″ x 4″ and I used my Lucky Stars Embossing Folder to add a little pop and texture! I added some Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding to cover the overlapping of the white and Designer Series Paper. I stamped a few of the flowers from the Wondrous Wreath Stamp Set and used the coordinating Wonderful Wreath Framelits (Bundle & Save) to cut them out. No fussy cut necessary! 🙂 Of course I had to add a few Rhinestones for some bling! Then for the Joy, I used the Silver Foil Sheets (and some wax paper)! Beautiful and Amazing!!!

Of course you can use this trick for all of your little Framelits and not just the Wonderful Wreath ones! Let me know what you think of this trick and if it worked well for you in the comments below!

Also, I can’t do this post with making sure to say Happy Veterans Day! Thank you so much to all of the men and women who fight for our country!

I’m Dreaming of a Blue Christmas!

Festival Of Trees, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I am just loving the blues this years…in particular Lost Lagoon!! This card really shows that! 🙂 I started off with a card base of Whisper White and added a piece of All is Calm Designer Series Paper (4″ x 5-1/4″). I am loving the patterns and colors of this paper and have gone through a few packs already! Check out this sample and this sample! Next I stamped 3 different trees from the Festival of Trees Stamp Set in Lost Lagoon and punched them out with the coordinating Tree Punch (Bundle & Save)! I cut a piece of Lost Lagoon cardstock (4-1/4″ x 3-1/4″) and Whisper White cardstock (4″ x 3″) out and used my Corner Rounder Punch on all corners. My greeting is from the Good Greetings Stamp Set which was a promotional stamp set last month! You can always use a greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes, Endless Wishes or any other favorite set you have. Adhere your Whisper White onto your Lost Lagoon and then tie a piece of Lost Lagoon Satin Stitched Ribbon around it. You can always just tie it into a knot or you can do a bow like I did. That one came out pretty good so I kept it, other times I pull it out and leave it as a knot! 😉 I adhered this piece to my card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and then added my 3 trees. The solid tree was put on with Snail Adhesive and the other two were put on with Dimensionals! I love my dimensionals something fierce! Now you are all set and just a need to write in the inside and in the mail it goes!

Perfect for Under The Tree!!!

Posted on

I have a fabulous Gift Packaging idea to share with you today and it will look amazing Under the Tree!!!

Large Gift Box Punch Board, www.LaurasStampPad.com

The Under the Tree Specialty Designer Series Paper in the Holiday Mini Catalog is perfect for boxes. It is heavier than typical Designer Series Paper so it holds up much better (and you stylus will punch through the paper)! It is beautiful as well. One side is kraft and white patterned and the other side has a color (Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green & Early Espresso)!

Under the Tree Paper, www.LaurasStampPad.com

See isn’t it beautiful! I used my Gift Box Punch Board to create these boxes! The one pictured above is the largest box which uses a 12″ x 12″ piece of paper and the box is 4″ x 4″ x 4″. I used some Cherry Cobbler Chevron Ribbon to wrap around the box. For the tag, I used a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock and punched the end with the Scallop Tag Topper Punch. On the Whisper White cardstock, I stamped a few snowflakes in Cherry Cobbler Ink as well as the greeting from Endless Wishes Stamp Set. I took my Sponge Dauber and added a little bit of Garden Green to the edges! I attached the tag to the Chevron Ribbon with some Whisper White Baker’s Twine!

Gift Box Punch Board, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For this box, I added some Lost Lagoon Satin Stitched Ribbon and a little tag! For the tag, I used the Scallop Tag Topper Punch and my Work of Art Stamp Set! Love that set! Also, you can’t really tell in the photo but I added some bling with my Dazzling Details along the chevron pattern!

I made a Video Tutorial for you so you can see these boxes made in action! Be sure to give it a thumbs up if you like and don’t forget to subscribe to My Channel so you don’t miss any other videos in this series!

Color Me Autumn!!!!

Posted on

Thoughts & Prayers, www.LaurasStampPad.com

The Designer Series Paper that I used for this card is called Color Me Autumn and it has some great patterns and colors for all types of cards! This Get Well Soon card was created with Soft Suede and Elegant Eggplant. I love how Elegant Eggplant gives a pop of color without being too….poppy. Does that make sense? 🙂 It gives the card color but doesn’t scream look at me – a nice subtle look! I used a Soft Suede card base and added some Color Me Autumn Designer Series Paper. For the greeting, I stamped the greeting from the Thoughts & Prayers Stamp Set in Elegant Eggplant and added a few Soft Suede branches to the top and bottom from that same stamp set. I cut out the greeting with the Labels Collection Framelits and my Big Shot. I used the next Framelit up for the layering Elegant Eggplant piece. I love how the Framelit are so easy to use and give you that perfect layering look!

While Get Well Soon cards are not my favorite to make, they are always good to have on hand to send to someone who needs a little hand-stamped card to brighten their day!

How Many Punches Did I Use?

Posted on

Thoughts & Prayers Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

How many punches did I use for this card??? You have 1 minute!

Times up! If you guessed 6 then you are correct!

I love the bright colors of this card because they are sure to brighten anyone’s day! That is why it is perfect for a Thinking of You, Get Well or Sympathy card! It really could be used for anything though – Birthday, Anniversary, etc. I started with a Crushed Curry card base and added some Night of Navy cardstock which I Scallop Punched the bottom border! I layered some Color Me Autumn Designer Series Paper onto that. For the tag, I punched the top with my Scallop Tag Topper Punch and since the top corners were rounded, I thought I would Round the bottom ones too! I stamped the beautiful branch from the Thoughts & Prayers Stamp Set onto my tag in Night of Navy! I wanted some pops of color so I took my flower from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack and punched some scrap pieces of Crushed Curry and Calypso Coral! I added those to the branch as well as a few Rhinestone! For the ribbon, I looped a piece of Calypso Coral Seam Binding through the punched slot and then tied a bow around it with some Whisper White Baker’s Twine! The seam binding is not tied, it is just held on with the Baker’s Twine! For the greetings, I used the stamp from the Thoughts & Prayers Stamp Set, punch it out with my Oval Punch and layered it onto a Scallop Oval Night of Navy piece! Of course I added the tag and greeting with Stampin’ Dimensionals! 🙂 Love it!!!!

Here and here and here are some more samples I have created with the Thoughts & Prayers Stamp Set! I have made multiples of each of these to have on hand, just in case!
