My Succulent Garden Home Decor Piece!!!

Posted on

Succulents are so in right now as home decor, greeting cards, and so much more! So when I thought of how to decorate my Cake Dome for Spring, I instantly thought of a little Succulent Garden Home Decor piece!!! I love how it turned out!!!

Succulent Garden Home Decor, www.LaurasStampPad.com

My cake dome just makes me so happy as it is! Now it’s even more fabulous with these flowers as it sits on the counter in my kitchen! I just love it!!!! Let’s get started on how I created it because it was rather easy!

For the Succulent Garden Home Decor piece, I die cut the 6 layers of flowers from the Succulent Framelits! The colors I used were Garden Green, Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Elegant Eggplant and Old Olive. The large flowers are all 6 layers and I brushed the edges of the flowers with my Sponge Dauber! To get the petals to curl, I just ran it over my Bone Folder like curling ribbon. Here are the color combinations I used:

~Pool Party Cardstock with Elegant Eggplant brushed on the edges

~Garden Green & Old Olive Cardstock with Elegant Eggplant brushed on the edges

~Old Olive Cardstock with Whisper White brushed on the edges

Big Succulents, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I made the large flowers and  realized I needed filler or moss! I reached out on Facebook and everyone suggested moss from the dollar store. So off I went to the store and got some moss and some green covered “rocks”. Perfect. I kept the rock sponge that I had from the beach and placed it in the middle with moss under it. Then I placed all of the “green rocks” all around. Next I tucked in the big succulents and die cut a few of the smaller 3 flowers in Elegant Eggplant and Calypso Coral. I added a Pearl to the center and attached them to the display with a Mini Glue Dot!

Hey Chick Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set!!!

Posted on

The Hey Chick Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set has been super popular….probably because of  this crazy fabulous one!!! He is my favorite of all of them! I love the greetings as well! They are just so fun and different!!!
Hey Chick, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Let’s get started on this fun card!!! I started with a Whisper White card base and added a piece of Peek-A-Boo Peach measuring 3-3/4″ x 5″! Then I took a piece of Whisper White (2-1/4″ x  1-1/2″) and stamped the greeting Hey Chick all over in Watermelon Wonder. I cut out 2 pieces of the Carried Away Designer Series Paper (Sale-A-Bration item) measuring 2-1/4″ x 1-1/2″ (for below the greeting) and 2-1/4″ x 3-1/4″ for under the chick! It is easiest to line up all the pieces on the card and then pick one up, add adhesive, and place it back down. This way you know your spacing is all good!!

For the chick, I die cut one of the ovals from the Stitched Shapes Framelits. I stamped the chick from the Hey Chick Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set in Basic Gray Archival Ink. I always like to use gray over black for that softer look! Then using the Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, and Real Red Watercolor Pencils, I colored that crazy chicken! I used the Blender Pens to blend the colors together! I attached this to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals for a little pop! To finish it off, I added a few Pumpkin Pie Enamel Shapes.

Crazy Chicken, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I love the coloring blocking and the use of Designer Series Paper on this card! I need to keep this style in mind for future cards too! 🙂 Do you like to reuse a certain card style with lots of different card types and stamp sets?? Let me know in the comments below!

Don’t forget that Sale-A-Bration ends on Friday, March 31st!!! Click here to see the 3 different brochures of items you can pick from! There are the originals (minus the card tin), the extras that came out in February (minus the Glimmer Paper), and the items they released last week that are in the Occasions Mini Catalog (minus the embossing folders). Check Out This Star Blast!!!

The Birthday Blast Stamp Set and coordinating Star Blast Edgelits are so much fun!! You can bundle and save 10% when you purchase them together! If you missed yesterday’s samples, check it out here! Now for today’s sample….

Star Blast, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I am loving this color combination – Night of Navy and Rich Razzleberry!!! Let’s get started!

I started with a Night of Navy card base. Then I took a piece of Whisper White (4″ x 5-1/4″) and stamped the star swirl image from the Birthday Blast Stamp Set! I used Night of Navy Ink. Stamp it towards the top and centered as best you can! Next, I took a piece of Rich Razzleberry cardstock (4″ x 4-1/2″) and die cut it with the Star Blast Edgelits. You will place the die at the top and center it side to side. The die doesn’t actually cut on the bottom side so it keeps that long piece at the bottom of the star blast. I like that about this die, it’s very versatile. You can save all of the little stars that die cut out so you can use them on the inside of the card or another project! I adhered the Rich Razzleberry star blast onto the card with some Fine Tip Glue Pen.

For the greeting, I layered a piece of Night of Navy (4″ x 2-1/4″). Then I took a piece of Whisper White (4″ x 2″) and stamped the greeting from the Birthday Blast Stamp Set in Night of Navy Ink. I tied some Silver Ribbon around the piece and above the greeting! I added this piece to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. To finish off the card, I added 2 Silver Enamel Shapes to the stars at the top!

Star Border, www.LaurasStampPad.com

But wait….that’s not all! Since I had extra Rich Razzleberry stars leftover, I thought I would use them. I added a piece of Whisper White (4″ x 5-1/4″) to the inside of the card and added the little stars. I love it! Of course, check out my Video Tutorial posted yesterday showing off this sample and the one I posted yesterday!

Do you like to decorate the inside of your cards? Do you stamp greetings on the inside or just leave it open to write in? Let me know in the comments below!

Hope you have an amazing weekend! I will be stamping with lots of fabulous stampers both Saturday and Sunday! I can’t wait! See you back here on Monday!!!

Playing with the Birthday Blast Bundle!

Posted on

The Birthday Blast Bundle from the Occasions Mini Catalog is super fun for lots of occasions! Who doesn’t love bursting stars?!?! Check out this beauty!!!

Birthday Blast, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Of course I had to add in some bling! It’s so amazing!!!!

I started with a Bermuda Bay card base. Then I took a piece of Whisper White (4″ x 5-1/4″) and stamped the star swirl image from the Birthday Blast Stamp Set! I used Bermuda Bay Ink. You will want to stamp this image as high up as you can but not falling off the top like I did in the video below (lol). Also make sure it is “centered” as best you can. Don’t stress over this part! It doesn’t have to be perfect! Next, I took a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper (4″ x 2-1/2″) and die cut it with the Star Blast Edgelits. Be sure to save all of the little stars that die cut out so you can use them all over your card! 😉 Also, don’t forget that you can get the Birthday Blast Bundle – Bundle & Save 10%!! I adhered the Glimmer piece onto the card with some Fine Tip Glue Pen. Then I added the leftover stars randomly around! I love that extra bling!

For the greeting, I waited to stamp it after I placed the glimmer piece on so I knew how much space I had left. I used the greeting from the Birthday Blast Stamp Set. To finish off the card, I die cut that adorable little swirl in Silver Glimmer Paper. It was added below the greeting using the Fine Tip Glue Pen. See how simple that was!!!

If you would like to see this all in action, check out the video tutorial below or click here! Don’t forget to give it a thumbs up if you liked it and be sure to subscribe if you are new!

Stay tuned as tomorrow I will be posting the other sample shown in the video!!!

A Beautiful Watercolor Sky!!!

Posted on

Watercolor Sky, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This amazing watercolor sky is perfect with so many different stamped images – trees, flowers, scenery, hot air balloons, birds, etc. It was super easy to create and oh how I love that deep blue color!! Now let’s get started on how I created this!

I started with a piece of Pacific Point measuring 4-1/4″ x 11″ for my card base. Typically I just see what I have in my scraps section and pull out a piece so that is why sometimes it is 4-1/4″ x 11″ and sometimes 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″! This one works perfectly for the ribbon to go around the card up and down! Then I took a piece of Watercolor Paper measuring 3″ x 3-3/4″ and colored rather dark/hard all down the middle with the Pacific Point Watercolor Pencil. Let me preface by saying that I’ve always colored really hard so this was easy for me. You can always go lighter and add in more color if you wish! Once you are finished adding color to the paper, I took an Aqua Painter and brushed back and forth. You want to make sure it is nice and wet (not dripping/soaked but wet and moving the color around.) You can take the color all the way to the edge or just keep it down the middle. Of course, the cool…or maybe frustrating…..thing about watercolor is that no two come out the same. You just never know what you will get. Now set it aside to dry!

Once it was all dry, I stamped the hot air balloons from the Lift Me Up Stamp Set in Basic Black. PS: if you have no patience for it to dry like me, you can use your Heat Tool to speed it up! 🙂 Next, I layered this onto Whisper White (4″ x 3-1/4″) to really make it POP. I placed it onto the card front on the left side! Then I wrapped some of the Succulent Garden Ribbon around and tied it into a knot! For the greeting, I stamped using the Lift Me Up Stamp Set onto Pacific Point. Using the Layering Oval Framelits, I die cut the greeting and scallop oval. Next, I added the greeting to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals so it would look smooth over the ribbon! I thought it looked a little empty in the upper right corner so I added a few White Perfect Accents! That was the perfect fix!

Do you love to watercolor? Let me know your favorite watercolor tools in the comments below – Blender Pens, Aqua Painters, etc? To see more samples using watercoloring, check them out here, here, and here!

I think I can! I think I Can!

I think I can, www.LaurasStampPad.com

How adorable is this card?!?!?! First of all, it screams little boy but it screams so much more too! I Think I Can….I Knew You Could is perfect for a graduate, getting a job, getting a promotion, doing well in sports, for a child getting a report card, and so much more!!! It’s so adorable and simple and that’s why I love it so much!

I started with a Mint Macaron card base and layered on a piece of the Carried Away Sale-A-Bration Designer Series Paper (4″ x 5-1/4″). There are so many fun prints that it is hard to pick one! For the greeting, I die cut one of the squares from the Stitched Shapes Framelits. These have been my go-to ever since I got them! I love that little extra flare on the edge! Next, I stamped the greeting from the Designer Tee Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set. Super cute set and while it coordinates with the Custom Tee Bundle in the Occasions Mini Catalog, it’s super fun alone too! The greeting was stamped in Night of Navy Ink and added to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Finally to add a little extra flare and texture, I placed a few White Perfect Accents randomly on the card!

Have It Eat It Do It All, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I mixed it up a little and created another fabulous card. This time I used a different greeting from the same set! It is super fabulous still and fits the same square! I centered this greeting rather than off to the side. Next I added loops of the Metallic Gold Thread to the back of it! I love the added texture those simple loops create! You can see it better here!

Which one is your favorite – the White Accents or the Metallic Loops?? Let me know in the comments below!

Don’t forget there is still time to get your FREE Sale-A-Bration items with every $50 order! You can get the adorable I Think I Can set (Designer Tee) and the Carried Away Designer Series Paper!! Falling In Love Suite!!!

Posted on

Falling In Love, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I’m falling in love with the Falling In Love Suite from the Occasions Mini Catalog! The Designer Paper, bling-y embellishments, stamps and framelits!!! I typically don’t care for the little embellishments but when I saw these in person, I was blown away. They are just so beautiful! Let’s get started on this beauty!

I started with a Soft Sky card base and added a piece of Falling In Love Designer Series Paper to the front! Using the flowers from the So In Love Stamp Set, I stamped a few onto the designer paper. I used Soft Sky Ink. This gives a fun little texture and pattern to the background! Next, I die cut the little belly band in Very Vanilla with the So Detailed Thinlit Dies. Technically, this piece is for a belly band to slide onto the card but I used just the front portion. I simply cut off the little tabs and adhered it to the card front. Using the coordinating So In Love Stamp Set, I stamped the greeting in the center of the belly band.

Detailed Jewels, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I finished off the card with a bow using the 1/4″ Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon. It was adhered to the card using Mini Glue Dots!!! For the little bling, I tied some Metallic Gold Thread around it and then around one of the loops on the belly band. That little Falling In Love Embellishment is just so beautiful! It is rather chunky and might not go through the mail very well but it’s fabulous! I love it!!!

You can purchase the So In Love Bundle (stamp set and thinlits) and save 10%!!! Click here for the set in clear! Click here for the set in wood! As if save 10% wasn’t enough, you can pick out a FREE Sale-A-Bration item when you get the wood bundle and if you add another item for $2.50 or more to the clear bundle! Technique Tuesday – Coloring with the Fine Tip Glue Pen!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! That means I have a fabulous technique to share with you today. It’s a fabulous one today – coloring with the Fine Tip Glue Pen!!! Check out this glossy frog…or toad!

Coloring with the Fine Tip Glue Pen, www.LaurasStampPad.com

How adorable is he? I colored him with some re-inker in my Fine Tip Glue Pen! I got this idea from the fabulous Sara Douglass, Stampin’ Up! CEO. Let’s get started!

~ Card Instructions ~

All you need for this technique of coloring with your Fine Tip Glue Pen is the glue and the color of your choice in Ink Refills! I have a few bottles of Fine Tip Glue so to not make a big batch, I poured as much as I could into the other 2 bottles. There was maybe 1/3 of the bottle left and I did 10 drips of Cucumber Crush and it was BRIGHT! I ended up adding some glue back to it. I would go with maybe 3-5 drops and then add more if you want a bolder color! You can always add more but you can’t take it out! 🙂 Shake well and then color with the fine tip! It’s super fun and simple because you are literally coloring with the fine tip and can get into small spaces too!

Glossy Toad, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For this card, I stamped the toad from the You’re Sublime Stamp Set in Basic Gray Ink onto Whisper White. Then I took the colored Fine Tip Glue and filled him in. I actually did his eyes in regular/uncolored Fine Tip Glue. Allow this to dry. It will take at least an hour depending on how thick it was applied. As it dries you will notice the color is darker in certain spots! I love how that works! Coloring with the Fine Tip Glue Pen is super fun and there are endless possibilities! For my card base, I used Cucumber Crush and layered on a piece of Pacific Point that I ran through the Big Shot with the Seaside Embossing Folder. I added a few loops of Whisper White Baker’s Twine to the back of the toad and added it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

If you would like to see this all in action, check out my Video Tutorial below or click here! Be sure to give it a thumbs up if you liked it and don’t forget to subscribe if you are new! I post every Tuesday and Thursday!

What color would you add to your Fine Tip Glue Pen?? Let me know in the comments below! I’m thinking I need to do Melon Mambo and do the tips of flowers for that dew and highlighted look! How amazing would that be?!?!?

Succulents Growing on a Brick Wall!!!

Posted on

Succulents Growing on a Brick Wall, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I have been having so much fun with the Oh So Succulent Bundle! These little succulents growing on a brick wall are one of my favorites! I went with the same color theme as the Succulent Garden Designer Paper. You can see more cards I created with these products here, here, and here! Now let’s get started on this card!

~ Card Instructions ~

I started with a Calypso Coral card base. Then I took a piece of Whisper White (4″ x 5-1/4″) and ran it through the Big Shot in the Brick Wall Embossing Folder! I stamped the greeting from the Any Occasion Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set in Calypso Coral Ink. Since that stamp is curved for a banner, I just straightened it out a little for this project!

For the succulents on a brick wall, I used the Oh So Succulent Stamp Set to stamp the outline images first and then I die cut them out with the coordinating Succulent Framelits. You can purchase these two items together a save 10%. Spend just $1.50 more and you can pick out a FREE Sale-A-Bration item too! 🙂 I did the 6 layered flowers in Old Olive cardstock and stamped the tips of the 3 largest flowers with the little “bean-looking” stamp in the set and Whisper White Craft Ink. To give the petals some curl, I ran them over my Bone Folder like curling ribbon! I used Sweet Sugarplum, Mint Macaron, and Calypso Coral for the other flowers. A few of the flowers were adhered flat and a few were popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals! You can always do as many or as few flowers as you wish! I love it and the fun bright colors!!!

What is your favorite color to use for succulents? Let me know in the comments below! Also, don’t forget that this is the last month of  Sale-A-Bration. Every $50 order, you get to pick out a free Sale-A-Bration item! Woot Woot!

Any Occasion Banners Stamp Set!!!

Posted on

Any Occasion Banners, www.LaurasStampPad.comBanners are super cute and perfect for any occasion which is why these Any Occasion Banners are amazing! The Any Occasion Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set is made up of all types of banners – different greetings, tassels, scallops, flags, and so much more! They are perfect using them as decoration or as the greeting. Let’s get started on how I created this amazing card!

~ Card Instructions ~

I started with a Smoky Slate card base and took a strip of Elegant Eggplant measuring 1-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ and placed it on the card front as a guide for the scallop border! Using the little scallop image from the Any Occasions Stamp Set, I stamped it in Elegant Eggplant Ink all down the card. It is okay if it isn’t perfectly straight because you can place the strip down over all the edges. After the border is complete, adhere the strip to the card front. Then I punched some Silver Foil Paper with the 1-3/4″ Circle Punch. I used the 2″ Circle Punch to punch the Elegant Eggplant circle. The large Whisper White circle was die cut with the Layering Circles Framelits.

Thank You Banners, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Now for stamping the banners. I laid the stamps down on the table for a second to allow them to keep their shape. Then I pressed the clear block over the top. If you place it on the clear block, it may result in it being straightened out or curved incorrectly and then it won’t stamp over the string correctly. I used Smoky Slate Ink, Basic Gray Ink, and Elegant Eggplant Ink. Just have fun with it and angle each of the banners side to side. You can add different banner greetings and decorations as you wish! I added the white circle to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the other two circles flat. I finished it off with a few Rhinestones. The card is simple and fabulous and you can mix the colors up as you wish!!!

If you would like to see this all in action, check out the video tutorial below or click here! Don’t forget to give it a thumbs up if you liked it and be sure to subscribe to my channel so you don’t miss out on future videos! I post every Tuesday and Thursday!
