Technique Tuesday – Santa’s Sleigh!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! That means I have a fabulous technique to share with you today!!! Sometimes it’s the little things that make the biggest impact and that’s how I feel about this card today!!! But if you like an even bigger impact…..stay tuned….I have something for you too! Sneak peak below!

christmas-blessing, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Simplistic and yet stunning!!! The Santa’s Sleigh Bundle (Save 10%) has simple images that can be used in so many different ways alone but also can create the most beautiful masterpiece when paired together!

For this card, I started with a Whisper White card base. Then I took another piece of Whisper White (3-3/4″ x 5″) and stamped the label from the Christmas Pinecones Stamp Set in VersaMark Ink. I added Silver Embossing Powder and heated it with the Heat Tool! I really wanted the greeting to shine and look a little more fancy to match the fabulous sleigh! Check out more on heat embossing here! Then I stamped the greeting from the Christmas Pinecones Stamp Set in Night of Navy in the center of the label. Now for the sleigh, I die cut the main piece in Night of Navy with the Santa’s Sleigh Thinlits. I used the Precision Base Plate with the Big Shot so each of those intricate pieces would be cut perfectly! Then after running it through, I used the Big Shot Die Brush to pop it out of the die and pop out all of those little pieces so easily! Those are my 2 favorite tools for the Big Shot!!! Love!!! For the overlay on the sleigh, I used Silver Foil Paper to die cut it out!

santas-sleigh, www.LaurasStampPad.com

The overlay lines up so perfectly over the top of the sleigh and I used the Fine Tip Glue Pen to adhere them together. You just need a little bit of glue so I add it on the edges and in the larger sections in the middle. Just a light little bit so it doesn’t squeeze out onto your project! I used that same glue to adhere the sleigh to the card front. Once you have added the glue, place it on your project and lay your hand over the top, pressing firmly. Hold for about 15 seconds and to allow the glue to take hold and then you are golden! If you see a few spot pop up, just carefully place the tip of the glue underneath to add a smidge more!! Once I have the sleigh on, I layered this piece onto Night of Navy cardstock (4″ x 5-1/4″). Then I layered it onto the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals to give it some dimension.

glimmer-sleigh, www.LaurasStampPad.com

You can also do it in Silver Glimmer Paper or even Gold or Red!! So many fun ways to create with the Santa’s Sleigh Thinlits. If you would like to see this in action and more on the Santa’s Sleigh Bundle, check out the Video Tutorial below or click here! Don’t forget to give it a thumbs up if you liked it and be sure to subscribe if you are new!!!

Candy Cane, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I love the Candy Cane Christmas Stamp Set….well actually the entire Suite of products including Designer Paper and Washi Tape and more! The images are adorable and the greetings are fun! Also, I love a great scroll-y font!! 🙂

I started with a Whisper White card base and stamped the greeting in the lower right corner in Real Red Ink. I used the Candy Cane Christmas Stamp Set for all the images! I took a small piece of the Candy Cane Lane Designer Washi Tape and placed it on the card front! Then I layered 3 squares – Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper (2-1/4″ Square), Real Red (2″ Square) and Whisper White (1-3/4″ Square). I stamped the candy cane from the same stamp set in Real Red! I layered the squares with Snail Adhesive but added it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Quick, simple and super adorable!!!

sweet-season, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Here is another one with just a few changes. For this one, I used the striped image from the Candy Cane Christmas Stamp Set as the background rather than Washi Tape. Also, I changed up the center image to another fabulous one from the stamp set. See how you can do so much with this amazing set! This card is also in my Cut For Christmas offer!!! All you need in a Real Red Ink Pad and the Candy Cane Christmas Stamp Set!!! Love it!!! Be sure to check out the other cards in the offer as well!

Fall is in the Air!!!

fall-trees, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Fall is here and there is no denying it! Let’s just hope it stays Fall and doesn’t become the next season…..oh how I don’t like winter at all. In the mean time, I’m trying to enjoy the sun, warm fall days, crisp morning, and the beautiful colors of trees!!! This card is made with the Totally Trees Stamp Set from the Holiday Mini Catalog which has every type of try for every location and occasion! It is super fun and perfect for a man card too! If you would like to see more samples, check them out here and here!

I started with a Cajun Craze card base. This color is one that I only really use during the Fall. It’s the perfect fall color. Then I took a piece of Very Vanilla (4″ x 5-1/4″) and stamped the trees along the bottom from the Totally Trees Stamp Set. I did the base in Chocolate Chip and then the circles in Garden Green, Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler, and Crushed Curry. I wanted a more subtle look so I stamped off once with each of them before stamping onto my cardstock. This gives a lighter look so it isn’t so bold. I added a piece of Burlap Ribbon along the top. I added a bit of adhesive in the middle to hold it down since I knew the greeting would cover any sticky that might come through. I placed some Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back side to hold the ends down. I really like using dimensionals when I have ribbon on the back side of my cardstock because the dimensionals give it a smooth look rather than a bumpy one when using Fast Fuse or Snail. Since the ribbon is wide, I just used the dimensional border and placed a long piece over the top. I added more dimensionals along the back and adhered it to the card base. For the greeting, I stamped it from the Tin of Cards Stamp Set in Chocolate Chip Ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock. I punched it out with the Decorative Label Punch. Then I punched another one out in Garden Green and layered it behind by cutting it in half and placing one piece above and one below for a nice layer. You can check out this video on how to do that here. I added the greeting to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals as well….again for that smooth look and because dimensionals sink into the ribbon and around it rather than just sitting on top! Now you have the perfect fall card!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend enjoying the Fall weather and don’t some of your favorite things! See you back here on Monday!!!

Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer!!!

Rudolph The Reindeer, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I just love this card because the reindeer is so adorable and the blingy nose on Rudolph is fabulous!!! This is also one of the cards in my Cut For Christmas offer!!! Super fun and simple which is great for this time of the year!!! Now let’s get started!!

I started with a Crumb Cake card base and folded it in half to create the card base. Then I stamped the Reindeer image from the Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamp Set all over the front of the card bases in Early Espresso Ink. I usually start somewhere around the middle but not exactly in the middle. Then stamp above and below that image until you fall off the top and bottom of the cardstock. Then move over to the right and stamp the image to where it isn’t even with the line you just created but instead they are off set. Continue this pattern until the entire front is covered. Be sure that you are falling off the card front so it looks like the pattern continues.reindeer-stamping, www.LaurasStampPad.comThen don’t forget to stamp one more reindeer on a piece of Whisper White and punch it out with the coordinating Cookie Cutter Builder Punch (Bundle & Save 10%). Then punch out some Red Glimmer Paper with the 1/2″ Circle Punch and I adhered it to the punched out reindeer. I used a Stampin’ Dimensional but you could adhere it flat rather than popped up if you wish. For the greeting, I used one from the Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamp Set and stamped it on the left hand side of a piece of Whisper White cardstock (3-4/” x 4-1/4″) in Real Red Ink. Then layer it onto Real Red cardstock (1″ x 4-1/4″). I wrapped some Black Baker’s Twine around twice and tied it into a bow. You could always do a knot whichever you prefer! Then I added this piece to the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Again you could use Snail Adhesive but if you use dimensionals it will look smoother where the twine is. If you use Snail, just be sure it holds tight on both sides of the twine. I finished it off by adding the punched out reindeer to the card to the right of the greeting. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to make him pop and stand out more!

Peace & Happiness!!!

Peace & Happiness, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Simple and fabulous! I have never been a fan of Delightful Dijon until the Petals & Paisleys Suite came out. Then I was like “oh this color is fabulous!”. Now I pulled it out for this holiday card and love how it has that golden look without using Gold Foil Paper or Gold Glimmer Paper. This card is simple and yet perfect!!!

I started with a Night of Navy card base! I added a strip of Presents & Pinecones Designer Series Paper to the center. For the greeting, I used the Stars Framelits for the various sizes. I tried out a few different ways before settling on this design. You can layer the stars on top of each other with a nice border around the greeting or even add various sizes diagonally from corner to corner. I stamped the greeting in Night of Navy Ink from the Stitched With Cheer Stamp Set from the Holiday Mini Catalog. You can always base the size of your star on the size of your greeting. I added the Delightful Dijon Star to the card with Snail Adhesive and the white greeting star with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Have you planned out your Christmas Cards yet? Let me know what set you are using for yous! I would love to hear from you in the comments below!!!

Technique Tuesday – Shaker Cards!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! I hope you are having an amazing week so far. If not, I hope this super fun card will make it better. Shaker cards are so much fun and sure to brighten anyone’s day!!!

Fishy Shaker Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Aren’t the little fish adorable?? When you add in the little blue “beads” that shake all over it’s even better!!!! Thank you to Rachel Chamberlain for the fun idea of coloring Silica Gel to add to your shaker cards! Now let’s get started!

SUPPLIES NEEDED: Jar of Love Stamp Set, Everday Jars Framelits, Re-Inker, Silica Gel, Adhesive Foam Strips, Window Sheets

I started with a Pool Party card base. Then I took a piece of Whisper White measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″ and stamped the largest jar from the Jar of Love Stamp Set in Basic Black Ink. Then I die cut out the center of the jar with the “soda can” looking image from the Everyday Jars Framelits (Bundle & Save 10%). Then stamp your greeting on the bottom of the cardstock below the jar. I used the greeting from the Party Wishes Stamp Set. Now you will place this white cardstock onto your card base in the center, set the die cut piece back in the open hole and hold it in place. While holding the die cut piece in place, remove the outside piece (the one with the jar and greeting on it). Now you will need to trace around the “soda can” piece in that exact spot. This is to ensure perfect placement of the shaker pieces. If you added everything to the back of the white cardstock, then it would be difficult to line up the card base and you can flip over the white piece once you have added your shaker items. Now that you have your template on the card base, place the Adhesive Foam Strip around the image over your pencil template. Now you can fill the area with your shaker goodies. For the sample shown, I added some fish from the Jar of Love Stamp Set which were stamped in Tangerine Tango and die cut out with the framelits. I also added some Silica Gel beads. These are the little packets that come in show boxes and purses that say “Do Not Eat” on the packet. I placed a few of them into a dish and added a drop of Bermuda Bay Re-inker to color them. Allow them to dry before adding them to your project. I usually put them by the vent or in front of a fan. Once they are ready you can pour some into the open area. For the top piece, you will need to place a piece of Window Sheet over the open jar cut out on the back side of the Whisper White cardstock. Now it is time to place it over your card base. I then added some Bermuda Bay Baker’s Twine around the top and placed a Stampin’ Dimensional on each of the 4 corners to secure them down. You can always add the dimensionals before placing it down but I like to do it after so I don’t have so many sticky pieces when working on the perfect placement. 🙂 How fun is that???

Beary Merry Christmas!!!

Posted on

beary merry christmas, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This may not look like the traditional Christmas card but it sure does feel warm, cozy, and full of love. That is what a card is suppose to be anyway, isn’t it??? How precious!!!!

I started with a Crumb Cake card base and added a strip of Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper (1-1/2″ x 5-1/2″). I cut a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock measuring 2″ x 3″ and stamped the teddy bear (body and ears) from the Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamp Set in Crumb Cake Ink. This image is very solid and you might find that you don’t get a nice solid image. The image in the sample above even has a few spots on the top side of the teddy’s head. I stamped the face in Basic Black. If you are getting this, ink it up, stamp it off onto scrap paper a few times and then repeat 2-3 more times. This will help roughen it up a little and then you should get a nice clean, solid look. I punched out the heart from the coordinating punch – Cookie Cutter Builder Punch (Bundle & Save 10%). I used a little dab of the Fine Tip Glue Pen to adhere the heart. I took a Delicate White Doily and but it into 3 pieces (like a pie piece). Just add one of these pieces to the left side of the teddy bear rectangle. Then I added this to the middle of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the greeting, I cut a Real Red strip (1″ x 3-1/2″) and a Very Vanilla strip (3/4″ x 3-1/2″). I added banner tips to the ends of both of them and added the red strip to the card front with Snail Adhesive. I stamped the greeting from the Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamp Set in Real Red Ink and added it to the card front as well. Simple, fabulous and uses up lots of little scraps you have saved….come on, we all know you save every scrap! 🙂

Stay tuned to many more samples using the Cookie Cutter Christmas Bundle because I am loving it.

Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper is so beautiful and does all of the work making simple cards like this one so easy!!! This is the Halloween Night Specialty Designer Series Paper which has great pieces for Halloween and other patterns to use for any occasion. You can check out more samples I did using of this paper here!

I took a piece of Whisper White cardstock to create a card base. Then I took the piece of Halloween Night Designer Series Paper that has the rows of houses on it and cut it into strips based on the pattern. I just cut each of the rows out and then cut those strips into 5-1/2″ long pieces to fit on my card front. I ripped a strip of Pumpkin Pie cardstock and adhered it to the top of the Designer Paper and added it to the card front. You don’t need a complete piece of Pumpkin Pie to cover the entire back since it would be covered by the beautiful Designer Paper so use up those small scraps we all keep for that one project…..THIS ONE!!! For the greeting, I stamped it in Pumpkin Pie from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set and then punched it out with the Classic Label Punch. I layered that onto a Basic Black Decorative Label Punch. I added the greeting to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals! 🙂 Of course!

All Things Candy Cane Lane!!!

Candy Cane Lane, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Look at these adorable cards!!! Can you tell the difference between the 2??? Let me know in the comments below if you found it before reading on!!!

I started with a Whisper White card base. Then I took a piece of the Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper (3-3/4″ x 5″) and layered it onto Real Red cardstock (4″ x 5-1/4″). Now for the fun part….adding ribbon! For the card on the left side, I added some White Organza Ribbon and tied it into a knot. Then I had this fabulous idea to add some of the Candy Cane Lane Designer Washi Tape down the center of the ribbon.

Peppermint Washi Tape Ribbon, www.LaurasStampPad.com

It totally fits and looks amazing as you can see in the card on the right. How fabulous is that?!?! It really wasn’t that difficult to tie but it is a smidge chunkier of a knot! Just be sure to press it down well and I think you will be fine for mailing it out. For the greeting, I used the 2″ Circle Punch and 1-3/4″ Circle Punch. I stamped the greeting from the Candy Cane Christmas Stamp Set in Real Red and Crumb Cake Ink. I layered the punches and added them to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals!!!

Copper Designer Paper, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This color combination is AMAZING!!!!! Oh my goodness, the Paisley Suite is bringing out a whole new Laura and I am loving. The colors in this suite are ones I don’t like and ones I would never think to put together but they are just stunning!!! Here are a few other samples using this suite, check them out here, here, and here!

For this card, I started with a Rich Razzleberry card base. I cut a piece of Very Vanilla (4″ x 5-1/4″) and Petals & Paisley’s Specialty Designer Series Paper (1-1/2″ x 5-1/4″). I stamped the images from the Paisleys & Posies Stamp Set. The greeting was stamped in Night of Navy and the flowers in Rich Razzleberry. I added the designer paper to the top of the vanilla and added the Rich Razzleberry Ribbon along the line of the 2 papers. I added this to the card base and thought it needed a little bit more. Enamel Shapes are the perfect little accents and pops of color to finish off a card. I love it! These colors are so rich and beautiful!!!
