Life is Sweet

The June 2024 Paper Pumpkin is called Life is Sweet! This kit was fruity and full of sooooo many goodies. Die cuts, glimmer die cut words, pearls, vellum, and so much more!!! It also included the NEW In Color Shy Shamrock! Paper Pumpkin is a monthly subscription that you can enjoy a craft kit sent right to your door. These kits include everything you need to make the project (except scissors). Many of the kits are greeting cards but occasionally they are treat boxes, gift packaging, etc.

I think my favorites were the oranges! Something about that detailed Shy Shamrock die cut really grabbed my attention! I didn’t end up using the pearls on this card. Honestly, I didn’t like the pearls because I felt like they were a little peachy/vanilla looking and the glimmer greetings were very white/shimmery. To me the two looks clashed but that’s just my opinion. Let me know in the comments below if you thought it worked and liked it or you felt the same as me.

You all know I love lemons so this is my second favorite card style! Of course, I also have to mention that the envelopes were super fun with the scallop flap and gorgeous coordinating colors! LOVE IT!!! I really struggle with Congrats cards because I feel like the greeting is super specific. Wedding, new job, retirement……I just feel like I don’t know how to use a congrats card. Feel free to give me suggestions!

It is just crazy how bright white the glimmer greetings are and apparently my lighting. You can hardly see the Miss You that is on these cards. I have many friends and family members who live all over and I just don’t get to see them as often as I would like so this is a card style I can use a lot of. Perfect for a random #happymail card which I love sending out!

Be sure to get signed up for the July Kit before the 10th so you can enjoy the fun of Paper Pumpkin! Perfect thing to do indoors on a hot summer day! Great for taking over to a friend or family member’s house too!

Catalog Helper!

You all know how I love organization and lists. When the New Stampin’ Up! Catalog came out, I loved it for all of the samples and information on creating! The one thing I did not like was the layout of products though! So I created this Catalog Helper – a nice little layout list of die cuts, punches, ribbons, and designer paper!

The Best There Is

The May Paper Pumpkin Kit was called The Best There Is. I totally should have posted these weeks ago but #summerschedule. Things are crazy nowadays! I’m just glad I got it completed so I had Father’s Day cards ready to go!

These cards were all fairly easy to create. Claire and I had lots of fun creating them! It was nice that she then had a card to give Brad as well! I had Alex sign one of her cards as well! Just perfect! Now I need a refill kit so I can do birthday cards! LOL

Summer Fun

Here are just a few pictures of our summer so far! We have played in the water A LOT! Whether it’s the city draining a fire hydrant, the neighbor’s pool, our kiddy pool, or the creek at my parents, my kids are loving it all! We take multiple daily walks where I am the only one who typically walks! The kids ride on scooters, bikes, the ziggle, or the jeep! One more, Alex insisted on wearing his shark robe. It was like 75+ degrees outside. It wasn’t a battle I thought was worth fighting! Claire loves the monkey bars and could do them for hours on end. Afternoon snuggle time/nap time happens so we can get through the day with late evenings at VBS! This week it goes to 8:45 p.m. I signed up to volunteer so I have been able to attend the rallies and they are just AMAZING!

I hope you all are having a wonderful summer so far! As the temps go up, we tend to spend afternoons inside so grab your stamps and enjoy some crafting alone or with friends and family! Don’t forget that the Kit Collection launched 2 new kits this month too! So many great options at different price points and stamping levels! Ephemera Packs!

I’m just going to say……a different word would be preferred! I think I know how to say Ephemera Packs now but bare with me. LOL I think it’s E-FEM-ER-A. No matter what you call them, these packs are amazing and make for quick and simple card creations!

Here I used a Note Card & Envelope, stamped a greeting from the Simply Said Stamp Set in Memento Black Ink and then decorated with a few flowers from the Fully Flowering Ephemera Pack. Next, I finished it off with some In Color Resin Dots!

TIP: Don’t stamp the greeting first like I did. When I was creating these cards, I thought I would stamp one in the middle and one in the lower corner. Then as I was deciding on my flowers, I struggled with the placement. I recommend playing with the different flowers/images first and then when you get it figured out, stamp and adhere!

Filled With Fun!!!

I just have to share this fun Stair Step Card that I created using the Filled With Fun Bundle. This is still available as an Online Exclusive so be sure to grab it before it is gone!

SUPPLIES & MEASUREMENTS:

  • Granny Apple Green Cardstock – 4 ¼” x 9 ½”, scored at 1”, 2”, 3” and 4”
  • Basic White Cardstock – 4” x 5 ¼” and 4 ½” x 3 ¼” and 3 ¾” x 2 ½” and scrap for die cutting
  • Daffodil Delight Cardstock – 4 ¾” x 3 ½”       
  • Azure Afternoon Cardstock – 4” x 2 ¾”
  • Basic Black, Poppy Parade and Smoky Slate Cardstock – scrap for die cutting

Card Instructions:

Using a ruler and a pencil, place a mark 1 ¾” down from the top on the 1” score line. Place a mark 1” down from the top on the 2” and 3” score line. Cut from the edge straight across to that 1 ¾” mark. Then cut diagonally up to the 1” mark. Next, cut straight across to the next 1” mark. Then cut diagonally up to the 4” score line/top of the card. Zig zag fold these score lines to create a tiered banner look on the left side of the card.

Stamp and decorate each panel as you wish. NOTE: Be sure to stamp your images for the center panel low enough that it won’t peek out from behind the front panel. It’s not a huge deal but you can see in my sample the greeting shows over the presents in the wagon. Adhere each layer to the stair step Granny Apple Green on the “straight across” fold.

Exciting Day!!!

Happy Wednesday!!! It’s an exciting day with the launch of the NEW Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog!!!

This catalog is so beautiful and has a fun textured cover! I found this catalog to be more than just something to shop from but an actual resource for paper crafting. There are color combinations, card layouts, samples, and so much more in this catalog! I found myself ready to go create after looking through it!!! In all honesty, the layout isn’t my favorite in the back. I really enjoyed going to the back and finding all of the inks, papers, punches, dies, etc. That is something I will have to get use to! Now for the NEW 2024-2026 In Colors…..YUM yummy as my son would say! I am in love with these colors. So far, Petunia Pop is my favorite and what I keep grabbing for! The bright and fun shades are just so much fun and I’m excited. Last year, I wasn’t a huge fan but now I’m ready to create and enjoy these colors! Which is your favorite?!?!
