Happy Friday everyone! It’s Closing Day…..finally! I feel like this day was never going to come. We close on our first home this morning and start moving. Time to put all of my lists and planning into action!

It's Closing Day, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Here it is!!!! We are so excited and ready to start moving the boxes and chaos from one house to the next. This weekend we will be cleaning and doing a few things around the house. Then starting on Monday I will be moving items over and unpacking. I’m starting with the kitchen, bathrooms, and closets. We also want to do as much of Claire’s room as possible so that on our first night there her room looks similar. Then next weekend we are doing the official move of furniture and big items.

Stay tuned as I will be trying to do Facebook Lives during the move to show the packing up of 1 Stamp Room and unpacking into the NEW Laura’s Stamp Pad. The new place is about 3 times the size of my current stamp area. I can not wait!!!! It will be a work in progress because as I get settled I will see what I need and want to do with the space. If you have any suggestions, ideas, or tips, let me know in the comments below! I am open to all of them! If you have a favorite shelf or storage piece, let me know!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and if you would like to send happy vibes, prayers, or ju-ju our way for a safe and smooth move, that would be amazing! I’m off to sign a million papers!!! It’s Closing Day!

Surprise #2!!!

Posted on

So a few weeks ago, I said I had some exciting things! One of those was earning Maui! Surprise #2 is………

Surprise #2, www.LaurasStampPad.com

We are buying a house and moving!!!!! This is super exciting for us…..and very nerve-wracking! We had been looking for awhile and not finding anything even close to a possibility. A little 1 year old has quickly taken over our current house and I just didn’t think we could make it through Christmas. If we did, she was getting money for her piggy bank because we are out of room. ๐Ÿ™‚

Then, a random Monday 3 weeks ago, I took Claire to the Splash Pad one afternoon and then stopped by Brad’s work for a quick visit on the way home. Brad mentioned a new house hitting the market that sounded amazing but there were no pictures. We went to see it that evening and put an offer on it the next morning. Wednesday afternoon the offer was accepted. And since then everything has gone that fast with appointments, paperwork, and chaos. I never know what day it even is anymore.

In 2 weeks, we will be closing and moving. Don’t worry if you are one of my local stampers……we are just moving to Edwardsville!!! The other exciting thing is that I will have the entire basement for my stamp room! Woot Woot! More details coming soon.

I would also like to throw it out there that my October classes at Laura’s Stamp Pad might be all over the place/not happening. There is also a chance that I won’t get a blog post up every day of the week, Monday – Friday! Please bare with me. Also, let me know what you would like to see in this fun and crazy process and I’ll share! You all know I’m super open about things and love to share!

Off to go pack some more and make sure Claire didn’t toss in her current snack. ๐Ÿ™‚ Have a wonderful weekend!!!

Happy Stampin’

This Is Why…

Posted on

Happy Friday everyone! Today, I have lots of fabulous deals to share with you. First, I wanted to share with you why I do what I do. Why do I make handmade cards? Why am I a Stampin’ Up demonstrator? This is why…

this is why, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card right here brought tears to my eyes. My niece, Anna sent me this card and I love it. You may feel like you have seen this card before and you have. It was a card I shared a few months back and Anna attended one of my classes and made it! She loves coming to my classes and making cards. Of course that right there makes this Auntie super happy. Then to receive this card with those sweet sweet words. I love it! That right there is why I do what I do. The cards I send her mean a lot to her and this card means the world to me. Those smiles, those warm hearts, those thoughts that someone is thinking of you……that’s why I make and send cards.

I challenge you to send a card this weekend. You may think it isn’t pretty or there is a mistake but I PROMISE you that only you know of that mistake. I also promise you that it is wonderful and will make that person smile and feel loved. That is the whole reason we send cards anyway so do it!!!

Not only is the Holiday Mini Catalog finally out now but check this out! Stampin’ Up is having their Buy 3, Get 1 Free Designer Series Paper Sale. One of the paper packs in this special is a Specialty Designer Series Paper ($14.50 value) so you can really enjoy the savings. Click here to shop the Designer Paper!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!! I’ll see you back here on Monday!!!

I left on Friday around 2:00 p.m. and headed to Champaign. First, a group of us had dinner before the evening Leadership Share. It was a lot of fun to just eat and chat with ladies from Utah, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, and Illinois. There were lots of laughs and good times. That evening we had a great group sharing ideas, tips, and and just having a good time!

Friday Night, I got to stay with my fabulous upline, Meg Loven! I am so thankful she let me stay with her….and for asking me to join Stampin’ Up 15 years ago! She’s amazing! I got to see her craft space and let me tell you it was amazing. I had to make myself shut the lights out and go to sleep or I think I would have stayed up all night looking at swaps and everything!

Holiday Mini Catalog Samples, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Saturday, I got there bright and early because I always help out with registration. I love doing this because then I get to greet everyone joining us for the day. There were over 100 demonstrators from 10 states – Illinois, Missouri, Minnesota, Michigan, Utah, Iowa, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Kentucky, and North Carolina. Then the day was filled with presentations, techniques, stamping, swapping, lunch, and chatting. I even got invited to go on stage for a presentation! It was amazing!!!

I was able to get back home from Vacation Stamping School on Saturday in time for some evening play time, snuggles, and putting Claire to bed! The perfect little getaway!! Stay tuned as I will be sharing samples and techniques I learned over the next few months! So much stamping to do, so little time!

Friday Favorites!!!

Happy Friday!!! This has been a crazy week of excitement!!! SURPRISE!!! I can’t share all the details but I have some exciting fun new to share with you all very soon so stay tuned!! Let’s get started on this week’s Friday Favorites!!!

SURPRISE, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Right now, I’m just going to say SURPRISE until I can share more details!!!! Patience, dedication, and knowing that each new day means new opportunities has really paid off! I’ll be sharing some of this good new next week I think so stay tuned! ๐Ÿ™‚

Coke Zero……my savior! I love it and it is my pick-me-up every afternoon. I call it my Zingy. When Claire doesn’t nap, this Momma really needs some Zingy to power through the rest of the day. What is your pick-me-up? A little chocolate? Caffeine? Let me know in the comments below!

The July Paper Pumpkin worked amazing for me this week. I had all of the little cards created and waiting to be used. Since they aren’t full sized cards, I tend to not use them up very quickly. Well I had my annual well-women doctor visit this week and those came in handy. If you remember during my pregnancy, I took everyone cards and treats all the time. I love everyone in that office. Well of course I couldn’t go empty handed this week. I wrote inside the card – Have an amazing day! ~Laura. I gave them to everyone I saw. It was the perfect little pick me up to make them smile. Goal Accomplished! Thank you Paper Pumpkin for helping me out!

Audio Books are AMAZING! They make a car ride/drive go so quick. Love it. I have been listening to books for a couple years now. I always feel so accomplished too because I arrive at my destination and read a book! How amazing is that?!?!? Let me know if you like them or hate them. Also, give me your book recommendations!

Those are my 4 Friday Favorites this week with one Surprise that will be revealed soon! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! I’m super excited to be heading to a Stampin’ Up event this weekend with ~100 or so other demonstrators. Be sure to follow my Facebook for sneak peaks from this event!

Happy Stampin’

A Good Man!!!

Posted on

I realized I never shared with you the Father’s Day card that I created for my husband! Together Claire and I created a card for her to give him but I also wanted to give him one. Brad is an amazing father and this card/greeting fit perfectly I thought! He really is a good man!

A Good Man, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I love this stamp set – A Good Man! It has wonderful line art images which are great for coloring but also look good stamped solid. The greetings are perfect too! I think it’s just a classic stamp set!

I started with a piece of Balmy Blue cardstock for my card base. Next, I took a piece of Whisper White and stamped the image and greeting in Basic Gray. I like using this for coloring because it is softer. Using Stampin’ Blends, I colored the man and the chair. Now repeat 3 more times…..lol. The first time I used Bronze for his skin tone….too dark. Round 2, I accidentally colored the chair as part of his shirt. Round 3 was finally perfect! Using the Balmy Blue Light Marker, I went over the entire background. It looked very streaky and like a hot mess but I set it aside for a bit. When I looked back at it, it was perfect! Sometimes you need to step back and not look at the close details so much! It’s fabulous!

Next, I layered this onto a piece of Crumb Cake and tied some Linen Thread around it. I ripped the bottom edge for a little texture and beachy roughness! Then I added this to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals! Of course on the inside I got all mushy about Brad being such a good father and such a good man. He is so amazing and I was in tears writing it. Claire and I are so lucky!

Kid's Father's Day Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Here is Claire’s card that she made! She had so much fun! I did video the whole thing but it was like a 20 minute video. Cutest thing ever! She helped pick colors, stamp, and color. I can’t wait for many more years of crafting with her!

If you would like to check out some past cards that I have created for Brad click here, here, and here!

Happy Stampin’
