Irresistible Polka Dots!!!

Decorative Mask Emboss Resist, www.LaurasStampPad.com

How adorable is this card and it has polka dots!?!?!?!?! Loving it!!! I created this card with the fabulous Irresistibly Yours Designer Series Paper in the Sale-A-Bration Brochure which means you can get it for FREE with a $50 (US) purchase! Last week I showed you how to use this paper with your Sponge Daubers here and your Spritzers here! Today I’m going to show you how to create this card with your Sponge Daubers and Decorative Masks!

I started off with a Hello Honey card base and then cut my star piece from the Irresistibly Yours DSP (4″ x 5-1/4″). Using my Sponge Daubers and Stripes and Dots Decorative Mask (or Simply Created Build A Banner Template), you will add ink (Bermuda Bay) in the dots over your paper! It is so fun because it reveals these adorable little stars! I love it. NOTE: You will want to take a paper towel and wipe each little dot to get the excess ink off the embossed stars before removing the template. If you remove the template and start rubbing all over to get the excess off, you will get streaks in between your dots!!! That’s what I’m here for….to make the mistakes for you and let you know the tips and trick! hehe! Once that is complete, you can adhere that to your card and start on your greeting. I stamped the greeting from the Big News Stamp Set in Memento Ink so I could color in the words with my darkest marker in the Coastal Cabana Blendibilities Set! Precious! I added a little knot of Hello Honey Satin Stitched Ribbon on the left to finish it off! Of course the greeting is popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals as well! What is a card without those?

Of course you can check out the Video Tutorial on this as well and don’t forget to give it a thumbs up if you liked it!!!

What is your favorite way to add color to the Irresistibly Yours Designer Series Paper – Mask, Sponge Daubers, Spritzing, Stamping, or something else? Leave me a comment down below!

I Just Can’t Resist!!!

Posted on

I am loving the Irresistibly Yours Designer Series Paper from the Sale-A-Bration Brochure! It is so much fun and simple to get an emboss resist look without pulling out all of your embossing tools. You only need to pull out this paper and a coloring tool of your choice! Today, I’m using Sponge Daubers – my favorites!

Sponge Daubers Resist, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I started off with a card base of Pool Party and then I cut a piece of Irresistibly Yours Designer Series Paper into 4″ x 5-1/4″! Using my Sponge Daubers and Ink Pads (Pool Party & Calypso Coral) I added color to the paper! I went from the corner to the middle with each color applying ink by going side to side (diagonally). Then I took the flower from the Crazy About You Stamp Set in the Occasions Mini Catalog and stamped it in Calypso Coral. I love how it gave that darker look! I used the coordinating Hello You Thinlits to cut out the Hello and stamped the Sunshine from the Crazy About You Stamp Set. You can get this stamp set in Wood, Clear, and Photopolymer! Bundle with the Thinlits and Save! I layered the greeting on top of a strip of Pool Party and a strip of Beach House Washi Tape! Of course a little bling of Rhinestones finished it off! LOVE IT!

Technique Tuesday – Irresistibly Yours!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!!! I hope you are having a fabulous week and this technique makes it even better!!! 🙂 Today, I’m going to show you how to use the Irresistibly Yours Designer Series Paper that you can get for FREE through Sale-A-Bration when you place a $50 (US) order! The catalogs shows the paper like this!

Irresistibly Yours DSP

When you first see this, you may be confused and think it is tan and white paper. Really, it is white paper with the images you see in tan clear embossed onto the paper. You can’t really photograph clear on white (as you can see in my video) so Stampin’ Up! is showing it like this! Since this paper is clear embossed, you can add color to the paper and it will only pick up the color on the white areas and not on the clear embossed images. You can add your color with Spritzers, Sponge Daubers, Sponges, Brayer, Markers, Blendabilities, and stamping! It is sooooo much fun to add color and see the image show up. It is like being a child again and painting in one of those books that you add water and the image appears. (Just me?)

Spritz Emboss Resist, www.LaurasStampPad.com

SUPPLIES NEEDED: Irresistibly Your Designer Series Paper, Spritzers, Stamps, Embellishments

Yeah it’s that simple! You can get this emboss resist look with just this paper. If you created this yourself, you would need Cardstock, VersaMark, Heat Tool, and Embossing Powder. I cut my Irresistibly Yours paper into 4″ x 5-1/4″ and placed it into a box for spritzing. I look the look of Spritzing but it scares me every time because I tend to get messy! 😉 I spritzed the right with Melon Mambo and the left with Elegant Eggplant. (Mix re-inker and alcohol (70 Proof or less) in a Spritzer). Underneath the greeting is the overlap or dots and spritz. I wasn’t sure if I liked that look or not so I covered it with my greeting. You could always show that off and move your greeting down. My greeting is from the Big Day Stamp Set which is also a Sale-A-Bration item! I am loving this stamp set. I colored in the letters with my Rich Razzleberry & Melon Mambo Blendabilities! You can earn those for FREE with Sale-A-Bration as well! I finished off the card with some Melon Mambo Cotton Ribbon! Here is another photo of this card!

Technique Tuesday – Lotus Blossom Love!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! This is a fabulous Tuesday because the Occasions Mini Catalog has begun as well as the Sale-A-Bration Promotion! Now I can share all these fabulous products with you!!!! Today I am sharing the amazing Lotus Blossom Stamp Set from the Sale-A-Bration Brochure! This stamp set takes a little technique and finesse. So lets get started!!!!

Lotus Blossom, www.LaurasStampPad.com

You saw the sneak peak of this card last week! Today I’m going to show you how to create it!

SUPPLIES NEEDED: Lotus Blossom Stamp Set, Baker’s Twine, Paper Doily, Gold Foil Designer Vellum Paper

I started with a Whisper White card base and added a piece of the Gold Foil Designer Vellum (4″ x 5-1/4″). I love using Vellum when there are lots of spots covered because then you don’t have to worry about your adhesive showing through. Just add adhesive under the spot where you flower is! Now with a piece of Whisper White cardstock measuring 3-1/2″ x 4-3/4″ it is time to stamp your flower. I used the Lotus Blossom Stamp Set from the Sale-A-Bration Brochure! You will see that the flower images are labeled 1, 2, & 3. You will also notice that where that number is, there is also an arrow. This is for perfect placement when stamping! Always note where that arrow is so you can stamp the next flower with the arrow in the same spot. The #1 Stamp is your first image. Ink it up in your color choice and stamp down! I used Bermuda Bay in the sample above and I usually point the arrow to the corner of the paper but that depends on the flower placement! Now get your #2 flower image and ink it up in the same color, stamp off on a scrap piece of paper and then line it up and stamp on top of the #1 flower image. Remember your arrow placement to help with each additional image. Now for the #3 flower image, ink it up in the same color again and lightly stamp off (you can stamp off twice if you wish) and then stamp over top your two other flowers! These three images give such texture and dimension and color to your flower! I just love it! It looks so artistic and real! TIPS: You can stamp off as many times as you wish. You can use a second color for the #2 stamp image. You can even use three different ink pads if you wish! Here are some more samples using just one color!

Lotus Blossom, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I could play with this stamp set for hours! For the stem I used Old Olive and you will stamp the spotty stem first and the solid one second. Again before stamping the second one, you will want to stamp off or use a lighter color. NOTE: You can bend your stem to whatever angle you wish! Got to love photopolymer!!!! I then stamped the greeting in Basic Gray in the corner and added a piece of a Paper Doily to the left edge. I was able to get 3 “pieces” of a doily from just 1 doily….with another pie looking piece leftover. You only need a little bit! I added this piece to my card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals! Then I wrapped the Baker’s Twine around my card front twice and tied it into a bow! I got this card idea right out of the Sale-A-Bration Brochure! It was just so beautiful, I didn’t want to make any changes! If you would like to see this stamp set in action, check out my Video Tutorial here! Don’t forget to give it a thumbs up if you liked it and be sure to check out the other videos posted today showing off items from the Occasions Mini Catalog and Sale-A-Bration Brochure!

Happy New Year!!!!

Posted on

Welcome to 2015! Let’s make it the best year yet!!! I am looking forward to all of my events, classes, stamp parties, meeting new people, laughs and fun that will take place in 2015! Be sure to check out my Upcoming Events to see when you can stamp with me next!!! Can’t wait!!!

One Sheet Wonder, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Today I thought I would share some more fabulous samples using the One Sheet Wonder Technique. This technique is so much fun and pretty simple! You take a piece of Whisper White cardstock (8-1/2″ x 11″) and stamp all over it. I used the Flower Shop Stamp Set and Crushed Curry, Elegant Eggplant, and Melon Mambo Ink. Then you will put the piece up into the following pieces:

One Sheet Wonder Template, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Then you take each piece and make it into a card! You can follow the ways I used them or create your own! I used Melon Mambo, Crumb Cake, Elegant Eggplant, Crushed Curry, Wild Wasabi, and Whisper White cardstock for my cards. I brushed some edges with my Sponge Daubers of course! You know how I love my Sponge Daubers. The greetings I used came from the A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Set. I even stamped a few flowers from the Flower Shop Stamp Set on additional cardstock and punched them out with the coordinating Pansy Punch! I added these with Stampin’ Dimensionals and some of them have some Dazzling Details to add a little bling! 🙂 Here are the rest of the samples!

One Sheet Wonder, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I hope you all try out this technique! You can see other samples here, here and here! If you would like to see these cards in action, check out my Video Tutorial here! I apologize for the poor lighting.

Birthday Calendar For Every Year!!!

Posted on

The new year is approaching. Resolutions are being set! Is one of yours to keep in contact with more family and friends? What about remembering the birthday of those your love?? You may have heard this before but for those who haven’t, here you go! I have a huge family and my Grandmother always remembered everyone’s birthday. She would send cards to everyone with $5 in there. When she passed, I decided I would take that over for her (minus the $5). I have my handy dandy Birthday Calendar that Stampin’ Up came out with many years ago and that thing is a lifesaver! I send out about 5-15 cards each month. I love it! So now that Stampin’ Up has come out with another fabulous Birthday Calendar, I’m excited to share it with all of you!!!!

Birthday Calendar, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I love it!!! This is the Perpetual Birthday Calendar Project Kit from the Occasions Mini Catalog. I got the coordinating Perpetual Birthday Calendar Stamp Set to stamp the backgrounds and months! Everything else was included in the kit and there were lots of goodies left over as well! I love it! It also comes in a beautiful box so it is perfect for gift giving as well. Remember this calendar can be used every year because the dates aren’t calendar dates but instead just the numbers in each month! Love that!

Birthday Calendar, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I am planning a class with this amazing calendar coming soon! If you would like to gather your friends to make these, I would love to party with all of your friends and bring the supplies! Just let me know a date! 🙂 I’m so excited to start up my classes again! I miss my stampers!

Here is a Video showing off this fabulous calendar! Be sure to give it a thumbs up if you liked it!

Silver & Night of Navy!!!

Posted on

I love Silver and Navy together! It is so elegant and beautiful! Here I created this amazing card and it was quick and simple!!!!

Silver Festival of Trees, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I started with a Night of Navy card base and added a few strips of All is Calm Designer Washi Tape! Then I took a piece of Whisper White cardstock and stamped three of the trees from the Festival of Trees Stamp Set using my Silver Encore Ink Pad. NOTE: Allow this to dry for a bit because this ink takes a smidge longer to dry than your typical ink pad! Of course I added this piece to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals! Oh how I love those things! Done! Quick and Simple!!

Are you almost done or all done with your Christmas Cards? What about presents? If you still need gift ideas, you can give a Gift Certificate for Stampin’ Up through me OR one of my favorites – My Paper Pumpkin Subscriptions? Also, if you need gift packaging ideas, check out my Video Series!

New Works of Art – PART 2

Posted on

Happy Monday!!!! I’m sharing more fabulous Work of Art samples!!! Did you see the ones I posted last Thursday? Check those out here! Now lets get started!!!

Watermelon Work of Art, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I think these are my favorite….and I’m not even a fan of watermelon. They are just so cute and summery! Ahhh summer weather. Sorry I was dreaming again. 🙂 I created this with the large swoop in Pear Pizzazz as the rind. For the watermelon, I used Strawberry Slush. I giggles at using Strawberry Slush for watermelon and Blackberry Bliss for Grapes…..anyone else think that is funny? I used the large square swoosh twice for the watermelon. Then for the seeds, I punched Basic Black with my Itty Bitty Punch Pack flower and then cut the petals off. Each petal is a seed!

Tic Tack Toe Work of Art, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and this is a quick and simple cut card option! I stamped the long image in Bermuda Bay (bottom one) and Real Red (top corner). Then I stamped the heart in a row (Melon Mambo – bottom and Basic Black – top) Precious!

Lovely As A Tree Work of Art, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This one is just amazing! It would make a great guy card but it is also calming and serene so it would make a great Thinking of You, Sympathy, Get Well Card too! I used the long piece and inked it in Mossy Meadow. I stamped it three times without re-inking and be sure they are really close together. Then using Lost Lagoon do the same thing but stamp 5-7 times without re-inking. Then taking the tree image from the Lovely As A Tree Stamp Set and your Chocolate Chip ink, stamp it at the top of the green! AMAZING!

Work of Art Butterfly, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This beautiful butterfly was created with Strawberry Slush for the body and head. The wings are Blushing Bride and Wisteria Wonder! You could do this in so many different color combinations! I added the antennas with a marker….I think I should add two little eyes and a smiley face too! What do you think?

New Works of Art!!!

I still can’t put down my Work of Art Stamp Set and have created some new ones!!!! You can check out some others here, here and here! This will be broken down into a few posts because there are just so many amazing ones! Be sure to check back again next Monday OR you can subscribe in the upper right corner and then you will never miss a post!

Work of Art Grapes, www.LaurasStampPad.com
How fabulous is the bunch of grapes??? This would make a super cute card for a Hostess when you bring a bottle of wine or for someone’s Birthday who enjoys wine as well!!!! I used Pear Pizzazz and the small swish for the stem. I stamped twice in full ink and then up a little with the stamped off image. For the grapes I used Blackberry Bliss and stamped about 5 times before going back to the ink! Love it!

Sailboats Work of Art, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Adorable and perfect for a little boy’s birthday or baby shower!!!!! This sailboat uses lots of blues! I used the chevron image in Lost Lagoon for the water. Then I took the large swoop and used Pacific Point to make the bottom and side sail. The second sail was stamped in Bermuda Bay. Lastly I added the mast in Chocolate Chip. You may want to lay a piece of scrap paper down in you wish to have a shorter mast like the one on the left! The clouds were created with the small swoosh and stamped off Bermuda Bay!

Pine Tree Work of Art, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This tree is quick and simple. I used Chocolate Chip and the long piece for the trunk of the tree. Then with Mossy Meadow and the large swoosh upside down you will stamp them angled down for the branches. I’m done with my Christmas Cards so I added a Birthday greeting from Remembering Your Birthday but this would look amazing with a star on top and Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details as ornaments. So many options! I love it!

Technique Tuesday – Glimmer & Glitz Stars

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!!! That means that I have a fabulous technique to share with you and I LOVE LOVE LOVE this one! Lots of bling and you can pick whatever color you want!!!!

Glimmer Vellum Stars, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I love love love Silver and BLING….add in a pop of color and it screams my name!!!!

SUPPLIES NEEDED: Silver Fancy Foil Designer Vellum, Silver Glimmer Paper, Cardstock, Sponge Dauber, Star Framelits, Big Shot, Stamps & Ink

Start off with a card base of 4-1/4″ x 11″ in Whisper White and adhere a piece of Silver Fancy Foil Designer Vellum on top measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. Vellum can be tricky to adhere because you can see where the adhesive is since it is partially clear. With this card, you don’t have to worry about your adhesive because it is covered by the Whisper White decorative piece. Then using a piece of Whisper White cardstock measuring 3-1/2 x 4-3/4″, you will place the third largest star from the Star Framelits on the bottom half and run it through your Big Shot! Now using your Sponge Daubers, brush the edges of the white rectangle and the punched out star! You can use the star on the inside of your card or for a completely different project! Stamp your greeting to the top of the white rectangle and then add Stampin’ Dimensionals to the corners of your white rectangle. You can add maybe 1 or 2 in the middle if you like them a lot like me! Place that on your card front. Now using the 2nd smallest Star Framelit, cut out a star in Silver Glimmer Paper! You will adhere this star in the center of your cut out star on your card front. Adhere with Snail Adhesive! You can place your cut out white star on the inside of your card! For the card above, I used Blackberry Bliss and the Endless Wishes Stamp Set!

Red Stars Vellum Glimmer, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For this card, I used Real Red and the Endless Wishes Stamp Set. I added the star to the inside on the top for some extra flare!

Birthday, Stars, Vellum, Glimmer, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For this card, I used Pacific Point and the Remembering Your Birthday Stamp Set! Also, I added in a little Silver Foil Star from the center of the wreath from last week’s post! To see this all in action, check out the Video Tutorial below! Be sure to give it a Thumbs Up if you liked it!!!!

I would like to thank Dawn Griffith for this great idea. She did her’s in all Silver which I loved but I added my flare with the color!!!! Let me know in the comments below which color your favorite was or which color you would like to use for a POP of color!
