Pink Perfection!!!

Posted on

Pink Butterfly, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I found another sample using the Watercolor Wings Stamp Set that I haven’t shared yet!!! You all know how much I love this one because it is so many fabulous shades of Pink!! (Don’t forget that Paper Pumpkin is going Pink this month!)

I started with a Pink Pirouette card base and then I took a piece of Rose Red and stamped the greeting from the Thoughts & Prayers Stamp Set! Then I took a White Tea Lace Doily and cut it in half and added adhesive to the center half circle and placed it on the top of the Rose Red. I didn’t like the edge of the Doily showing so I added a strip of Whisper White Organza Ribbon and adhered the ends to the back. Now you can place this onto your card front! For the butterfly, I took a piece of scrap Whisper White and used the Watercolor Wings Stamp Set! I used Pink Pirouette for the base, Rose Red for the second one (sides), and Melon Mambo for the third one (center and outside dots). Love it! Don’t stamp the center thorax piece until after you have cut it out. I found that if I stamped it now, sometimes it was up to high and others down to low. Using the Bold Butterflied Framelits (Bundle & Save) and the Big Shot, I cut it out! Woot Woot for not fussy cutting! Once it is cut out you can stamp the center piece in Basic Black! Of course I added the butterfly to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals!

Adding Texture with Gold Thread!!!

Posted on

Gold Stripes & Thread, www.LaurasStampPad.com

See those little bits of Gold Metallic Thread peaking out adding texture and catching your eye! Isn’t it fabulous? I have seen this style in lots of cards lately and couldn’t wait to try it out! I really like the look….on some cards better than others, so I think that I still a little rusty on the look! Now let’s get started on this card!

I started with a Whisper White card base and then added a piece of 4″ x 5-1/4″ Winter Wonderland Specialty Designer Series Paper! I love those gold stripes! For the greeting, I actually cut out the label first rather than stamping first since the flower is large and needs to fall off. I used the Lots of Labels Framelits. I stamped the greeting from the Reason for the Season Stamp Set in Basic Black! Then I stamped the poinsettia border in Basic Black, the petals in Real Red, and the leaves in Mossy Meadow! If you wanted the all of the flower on your card, you could use one of the larger labels. Don’t forget that when stamping the flower you want to take note of where the arrow (or nubbin) is so that you can line up the petals and leaves easily as well. Now for the thread, wrap the Gold Metallic Thread around your hand 8-10 times or however many you wish! 😉 Now slip the loops off and place them on the back of the greeting label. Slowly move the loops around so they are popping out on all sides of the label. Add Stampin’ Dimensionals in various areas to hold your loops down and pop up your greeting. You all know how I love my Stampin’ Dimensionals so I used 5 on this one I think! I found out that I like the ends of the thread tucked in rather than sticking out. If you want them tucked in be sure to stick those under a dimensional. Now you can peel off the backs of the dimensionals and add it to your card front. I love it!!

If you would like to see the thread placement in action, you can check out the Video Tutorial below or click here. Be sure to give it a thumbs up if you liked it!

Have you tried this technique? What is your favorite thread or Baker’s Twine? Let me know if you have any tips to share on this technique in the comments below!

Gold & Coral!!!

Posted on

Garden in Bloom, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I really like the color combination of this card. That light green (Pear Pizzazz) mixed with Calypso Coral and a little flash of gold! Love it!!!

I started with a Pear Pizzazz card base. Then I took a piece of Very Vanilla measuring 5-1/2″ x 3-3/4″ and added a 1″ strip of Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper to the right hand side!! I know the vanilla piece seems like an odd size but I had lots of scraps in this size and it worked!!! Got to use up those scraps or they will take over the world!!! 🙂 After I added the Designer Series Paper, I stamped the flower from the Garden in Bloom Stamp Set. Since it is a photopolymer stamp set, you can bend the stamp to create an angled stem! The stem and leaves are in Pear Pizzazz and the flower was done in Calypso Coral. I love the look. I stamped the greeting from the same stamp set in Basic Black. The greeting is so sweet and meaningful! To finish it off, I wrapped some of the Metallic Gold Baker’s Twine around twice and tied it into a bow! I added this to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals!!

Here is another sample using the other side of the same piece of Designer Series Paper! One of my class attendees decided to use the back side. I love it!!!

Technique Tuesday – Snowflake Background!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! You know what that means!!! I have a fabulous technique to share with you today…just in time for the upcoming season – winter. I don’t want it to come any sooner so let’s not mention it! 🙂
Penguin in Snow, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Aren’t these little penguins holding hands just adorable?? I love them but they are not the technique that I’m sharing with you today. I’m going to show you how to create that beautiful snowy background without stamping on your penguins! Let’s get started!!!

SUPPLIES NEEDED: Background Stamp of Choice, Scrap piece of paper

I started with a card base of Basic Black and then cut 2 pieces of Whisper White measuring 4″ x 5-/4″. One of the pieces is for the inside of the card and the other piece is for the card front. I started by stamping the little penguins and accessories from the Snow Place Stamp Set (Bundle & Save 15%). I stamped the penguins in Basic Black and colored in the beak and feet with a Pumpkin Pie Marker! I did a Real Red bow tie and Rich Razzleberry earmuffs! Now for the snowflake background that I stamped in Pool Party. Stamp all around and be sure to fall off of your piece of paper for a continuing look. Be sure not to stamp on top of your penguins. When you get close to them, use a scrap piece of paper to cover them up like a mask. This will give you the chance to stamp between and above them for a really snowy look! Simple and yet fabulous!!! I love it! For the greeting, I stamped it in Pool Party from the Snow Place Stamp Set and then die cut with the Lots of Labels Framelits and the Big Shot! I brushed the edges of the greeting with a Sponge Dauber! I added some White Glitter Ribbon along the top and placed the greeting over top with Stampin’ Dimensionals! You could change this card up a bit and stamp the number of penguins in your family or you could spread them out and add as many as you would like! I love it!

If you would like to see a Video Tutorial of the background technique, check out the video below or click here! Don’t forget to give it a thumbs up if you liked it!!

Poinsettia Perfection!!!

Posted on

Poinsettia, www.LaurasStampPad.com

CONFESSION: I will not make all 180+ Christmas Cards like this!!!! It is a beautiful card though!!!

Unless you love to color and do a few each night starting TODAY, you will not want to make tons of these cards. The coloring of the poinsettia is absolutely stunning but I think I would go nuts if I had to do a few hundred! 🙂 I stamped all of the Poinsettias from the Reason For the Season Stamp Set in Stazon Black Ink onto Whisper White cardstock (4″ x 5-1/4″)! I colored the flowers with an Aqua Painter in Real Red Ink and Mossy Meadow Ink! I love how the Real Red becomes pink when it is watered down and that is perfect for a poinsettia flower! For the centers of the flower, I used a Crushed Curry Marker. I really like the yellow to pop and not be watered down so I always use a marker. Save yourself some time and don’t stamp a flower in the center since it will just be covered up by the greeting. Also, be sure to stamp hanging off the paper so it doesn’t look cramped on a little piece and instead looks like it continues on. Once this dried a bit, I adhered it to a Smoky Slate card base. For the greeting, I stamped the Merry Christmas for the Reason For the Season Stamp Set in black onto Whisper White. I used the Banner Triple Punch for those banner ends!! I placed a Metallic Silver Doily in the middle of my card and then used Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the greeting! It’s as simple as that! The coloring is time consuming but not very hard. Like I said, if you do a few each night while watching TV or just relaxing, you will be done in no time but I would start early! 🙂

If you would like to see the coloring in action, be sure to check out the Video Tutorial below or by clicking here. Don’t forget to give it a thumbs up if you liked it!!!

Technique Tuesday – Halloween Punch Art!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! You know what that means….I have a fabulous Technique to share with you today! Punch Art is so much fun, uses up your scraps and really makes punches super versatile!!! I love that!

Halloween Punch Art, www.LaurasStampPad.com

How cute are all of these?? Since I’m not a huge Halloween fan, I like to find Halloween options with some of the supplies I already have. I used the Owl Builder Punch for all of these!!! Love it!!!! These little 3″ x 3″ cards are perfect to attach to a gift or treat bag. Let’s get started with each one and don’t worry, I did do a Video Tutorial for each of these!!! 🙂

Bat Punch Art, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card is a Whisper White card base measuring 6″ x 3″ and folded in half. I used a 2-1/2″ Circle Punch in Crushed Curry for the moon!!! The branch was punched in Chocolate Chip with the Bird Builder Punch! I punched a full Owl body from the Owl Punch and then two sides of the owl. I cut the sides straight to get those wings. Using a Sponge Dauber and Whisper White ink, I added a little color around the edges for some texture. I attached the wings with a Mini Glue Dot and added him to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals! Here is the video tutorial!

Frankenstein, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Little Frankie is my favorite!!!! I used the Owl Builder Punch for each of the pieces. I punched out a bottom half of the Owl body and the front body piece in Elegant Eggplant. I punched out a full Owl body and 1 large circle in Old Olive. I punched 2 large circles in Whisper White and 2 small circles in Basic Black. You will snip off the olive feet and place the eggplant feet to the back side of the owl. Then with your Paper Snips, you will cut the other eggplant piece into spikes for his hair and attach it to his forehead! For the eyes, you will assemble them with Mini Glue Dots – black circles onto the white ones and then cut the olive one in half and place those on top. I used a White Chalk Marker for the dots in the eyes and a Black Marker for the stitches all over!! For the greeting, I used the Happy Halloween from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set. I stamped it in Elegant Eggplant and punched it out with the Word Window Punch. I layered this onto an Old Olive punched Washi Label Punch! Here is the Video Tutorial!

Ghost Punch Art, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I used a Whisper White card base and then layered on a piece of Basic Black measuring 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″. I punched out an owl in Whisper White and cut off the little feet and turned it over. There is your little ghost. Then I punched out 2 small circles and 1 big circle and adhered them on with Mini Glue Dots. The greeting is from the Cheer All Year Stamp Set and I punched it out with the 1″ Circle Punch! Here is the Video Tutorial!

Spider Punch Art, ww.LaurasStampPad.com

For the little spider, I punched out a Black Owl and snipped off his feet. Then I punched 8 slivers from the piece of paper that I punched his body out of and that is how I created the legs. Check out the Video Tutorial here (it is at the exact spot for you) to see how I did that. You will also need 2 black hearts, 2 small red circles and a red body front piece. What is that front piece called? Owl belly? It looks like a vest to me! 🙂 I glued the owl belly on at the bottom of the owl body and added the hearts with 2-Way Glue Pen but you could also use the NEW Fine Tip Glue Pen! For the legs, I put Snail Adhesive all over the back of the spider and then attached all of the legs. Once I was done I added another layer of cardstock over top to really hold them in place!! I added googly eyes to the red circles and added them to the body with Mini Glue Dots. The eyes really bring him to life! If you don’t have googly eyes, you could always do black centers and a white dot like Frankie up above!!! For the greeting, I used the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set and stamped Sweet Treats in Real Red. I punched it out with the Word Window Punch. I layered this onto a Real Red punched Washi Label Punch! Here is the Video Tutorial!

Aren’t they all adorable and the best part is you can use up your scraps!!!! Love it!!! Here is the complete Video Tutorial!! Be sure to give it a thumbs up if you liked it!!!

Fabulous Flower Bouquet!!!

Posted on

Purple Flower Bouquet, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card is absolutely FABULOUS!!! Flowers, Purple, Rhinestones, and a scroll-y font greeting!!!! I big puffy heart love love love this card! I could do this card in any color and love them all!!! They would make a great gift for someone! You can check out more samples using this stamp set here and here! Now let’s get started on how I created this beauty!

I started with a Wisteria Wonder card base! I then took a piece of Whisper White cardstock measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″ and stamped the leaves in Cucumber Crush on the lower right corner and upper left corner! The leaves and flowers came from the Flower Patch Stamp Set and die cut with the coordinating Flower Fair Framelits (Bundle & Save)! I stamped the scallop large flower and the pointy flower in Wisteria Wonder on scrap Whisper White cardstock and then die cut them out!! Click here to see a Video Tutorial that shows tips on how to line up your Framelits! I stamped the smaller flower in the center of the pointy flower with Elegant Eggplant! I added these flowers to my card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals to really make the flowers pop and have dimension. Once I had the flower in place, I stamped the little mini flowers all around in Elegant Eggplant and the greeting from the Tin of Cards Stamp Set in Wisteria Wonder! To finish it off, I added Rhinestones to the center of the big flower, the I in Birthday, and randomly placed around the other flowers! I love the random bling!!! It really grabs your attention from all angles! Love it!!!

What color would you use to create this card?? Let me know in the comments below!

Christmas Wreath Card!!!

Posted on

Wreath on a Brick Wall, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I love this card for the Brick Wall! I know that isn’t the focal point but it really sets the scene!!! I went a little outside the box for this card and love the way it turned out!!! Let’s get started!!!

I used a card base of Basic Gray cardstock. Then I took a piece of Real Red (4″ x 5-1/4″) and ran it through the Big Shot with the Brick Wall Embossing Folder. Using my Sponge Dauber, I rubbed side to side and up and down with Cherry Cobbler Ink. This gives darker edges to the brick and a little texture. It really makes that brick wall come to life! Love it!!!! Then I cut out a wreath from the Wonderful Wreath Framelits in Mossy Meadow. Using one of the branch stamps from the Berry Merry Stamp Set and Mossy Meadow Ink, I stamped it all over the wreath. I stamped a few times before going back to the ink pad and I stamped in all directions to give a full look to the wreath! I added the wreath to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals and then attached a Whisper White Satin Stitched bow with Mini Glue Dots!! For the greeting, I stamped Merry Christmas in Mossy Meadow from the Snow Place Stamp Set! I used a 1″ piece of Whisper White for the greeting and punched the ends with the Banner Triple Punch! I curled the ends by running them over a Bone Folder like curling ribbon. The greeting was added to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals as well! 🙂

Technique Tuesday – Halloween Treats!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! Halloween is right around the corner and today I have some simple yet fabulous treat packaging ideas for you!!! It’s never to early to get start but wait to buy the candy to avoid temptations of eating it all before Halloween arrives!!! 😉

Halloween Spider Doily Treat Packaging, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I am loving the Spider Web Doilies and they really are so fabulous you don’t need much else to decorate!!!

SUPPLIES NEEDED: Spider Web DoiliesSketched Dots Tag & Bag Gift Bags, Sponge Daubers, Alphabet Stamp Set, Pumpkin Pie Cotton Ribbon, 1″ Circle Punch, 3/4″ Circle Punch, 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch

First let’s start with the little mason jars. These are really quick and simple and you can put lots of different gift options in there for teachers, neighbors, friends, family, etc – Gift Card, Nail Polish, Candy, Cookies, Chex Mix, Hot Cocoa, and more! I started off by taking my 2-1/2″ Circle Punch and either Basic Black or Pumpkin Pie cardstock for the top lid! The greeting that I used came from the Cheer All Year Stamp Set from the Holiday Mini Catalog. One of them I punched out with a 1″ Circle Punch added it to the lid with a Stampin’ Dimensional. The other one I punched out with the 3/4″ Circle Punch and layered it onto a 7/8″ Scallop Circle in Basic Black!

Mason Jar Lids, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Now for the side, I added Tear & Tape half way around the jar right along the top! This is what holds the half of Spider Web Doily onto the jar! Of course since the doily has holes in it and the sticky comes through, I added the ribbon to cover it up! I used Pumpkin Pie Cotton Ribbon to tie around the jar and into a bow. On one of them I placed the bow over the doily and on the other one I placed it on the back side of the doily! All done!!! Fill with goodies and enjoy!!!

Spider Web Treat Jars, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the Treat Bag, I started with a Sketched Dots Gift Bag and used my sponge daubers to add Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight for the candy corn look!!! You can use the ink pad directly to the bag but I found this to be super messy and all of the ink doesn’t soak in so it is a bit of a waste! For the tag, I stamped the word BOO from the Layered Letters Alphabet Stamp Set and the little spider is from the Cheer All Year Stamp Set! These were stamped onto Pumpkin Pie cardstock and then die cut with the Lots of Labels Framelits! I adhered the tag to the Spider Web Doily and then to the front of the bag!!! Fill with goodies and enjoy!!!

Candy Corn Bag, www.LaurasStamppad.com

I am not a huge fan of Halloween so I’m never really drawn to Halloween Stamp Set. I do like to make a few cards and treats for the very few trick-or-treats (if any) that we do get. I usually end up giving them to stampers at classes, the cashier at the grocery store and my neighbors! Finding out of the box ways to create the Halloween look is sometimes more fun too!!!

If you would like to see today’s technique in action, check out the video below or click here!!! Be sure to give it a thumbs up if you liked it!!! Don’t forget to subscribe to my channel so you don’t miss and future videos too! 🙂

Black and Yellow Flowers!!!

Posted on

Yellow Flowers, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I really love Black and White with a pop of color!!!! Yellow really pops when it is paired with Black and these flowers do just that!!! I started with a Daffodil Delight card base and added a piece of Neutrals Designer Series Paper (Black Strip) to the right hand side (3″ x 5-1/2″). Then I took a piece of Whisper White and stamped my flowers and stems from the Garden in Bloom Stamp Set!!! I love that since the stamp set is photopolymer you can bend the stem on the clear block for a cute curve! I used Pear Pizzazz for the stem and Memento Black for the flower border. For the flower, I used Daffodil Delight for the large petals and Hello Honey for the accent petals! I left the center of mine open because I just wasn’t sure what I wanted there – yellow center, black center, white center, or glitter center? What do you think?? Leave me a comment down below!!! I layered my stamped white piece to a piece of Basic Black and added it to my card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I finished it off with adding a few Daffodil Delight Candy Dots to the top corner for a little more POP and texture!!!

Flower with Leaves, www.LaurasStampPad.com

So then at my Stamp Class, we were creating this card and they asked me why I didn’t have any leaves on my stem. I had no clue. It never occurred to me to add leaves. They all added the leaves and the card is just that much more stunning!!! I really really like the leaves added!! I love sharing ideas with others, you never know what you will come up with!!! Thank you ladies!!!

Leaves? No Leaves? Black Center, White Center or Glitter Center??? Let me know what you think in the comments below!!!
