Dragon Breathing Fire!!!

Posted on

Happy Monday!!! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Let’s get this week started off with a Dragon breathing fire!!! This is from the Myths & Magic Suite which you can see more fun samples here and here!

Dragon Breathing Fire, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I love the orange and green color combination and that little hint of bling in the middle! Of course, you could always change up the colors to suit your birthday boy or girl!!!

I started with a Whisper White card base. Next, I took a piece of Pumpkin Pie measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″ and stamped the star image all around the edges. This stamp is in the Magical Day Stamp Set and I used Pumpkin Pie Ink. Then, I added this piece to the card front.

Breathing Fire, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Now for the dragon piece, I took a 2-1/2″ square of Whisper White cardstock and stamped the dragon from the Magical Day Stamp Set in Memento Black Ink. Using the Stampin’ Blends, I colored in the dragon with Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie. I stamped the fire on a scrap piece and die cut it with the coordinating Magical Mates Framelits (Bundle & Save 10%). The fire was added with a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional cut down a bit. Next, I added this to the top portion of a 3″ x 5″ Old Olive piece of cardstock.

I stamped the greeting from the Picture Perfect Birthday Stamp Set onto a piece of Whisper White (1-1/2″ x 2-1/2″). The greeting was stamped in Pumpkin Pie Ink and added to the bottom portion of the Old Olive piece. I added a little bling with the Myths & Magic Designer Washi Tape in between the dragon and greeting and wrapped the ends to the back side. Then I added this piece to the card front.

This designer is super fabulous for any style of card. Just stamp your focal point up top and the greeting on the bottom. Add ribbon or washi tape in the middle for some decoration!

Don’t forget that this is the last week of Sale-A-Bration so you want to get your order in before it ends to earn freebies with every $50 you spend. Click here to start shopping!

Coloring Ribbon with Stampin’ Blends!!!

Posted on

Happy Thursday!!! Today, I’m showing you coloring ribbon with Stampin’ Blends!!! This makes Whisper White Ribbon the best stuff ever because you can get any color!

Coloring Ribbon with Stampin' Blends, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card has so much fabulous parts to it that I just don’t know which I love more. Is it the coral organza ribbon, the fabulous greeting, those bursts alone the edge or the monochromatic words in the background! Let me know your favorite in the comments below!

I started with a Calypso Coral card base. Next, I took a piece of Daffodil Delight (4″ x 5-1/4″) and stamped the half sunburst from the Amazing You Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set along the left side. These were stamped in Rich Razzleberry Ink. As for the spacing on these, there are 2 ways to stamp them. Stamp the outside two first and then the middle or stamp the middle first and then either side. Either of these ways is a little better than stamping them left to right (or vice versa). After stamping, I added the three die cut YOU to the right hand side with the Fine Tip Glue Pen. These were die cut from the Celebrate You Sale-A-Bration Thinlits.

Simply Amazing, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Now you may be wondering where the coral organza ribbon came from! I actually colored the Whisper White Organza Ribbon with the Dark Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends Marker! It is super easy to do and then you have ribbon for any product! Simple run the marker down the ribbon on both sides over a piece of scrap paper. Be sure to take a paper towel over the ribbon to get off an access ink so that it doesn’t rub off on your project. I tied the ribbon around the Daffodil Delight and into a knot. Then I added this piece to the card base. For the greetings, I used the Layering Ovals Framelits and the words from the Amazing You Stamp Set. I stamped it in Rich Razzleberry Ink. Then, I added this to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The Amazing You Stamp Set is one of the sets you can pick out for a $50.00 order with Sale-A-Bration. The Celebrate You Thinlits are in the $100 level for Sale-A-bration. You can check out all of the items you can pick out at both levels here! A little over a week left of Sale-A-Bration!!!

Here’s To An Epic Celebration!!!

Posted on

This card and greeting “Here’s To An Epic Celebration” just makes me think rock star! Then I want to say, “Party on Wayne, Party on Garth!” Name that movie in the comments below! 🙂

Epic Celebration, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Okay enough craziness! This card is super cool and great for the younger kids as well as the older ones! I have an uncle that plays the guitar and this would be perfect for him too!

I started with a Whisper White card base. Next, I took a piece of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock and splattered water all over it with an Aqua Painter. Then I poured Silver Embossing Powders over the top, tapped off the excess, and set it with the Heat Tool. Check out this post for a full tutorial and video! Since the water makes the paper a little warped, I like to add this layer on with some Tear And Tape for a nice strong hold.

Silver Splatter, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Now for the focal point, I took a piece of Whisper White and stamped the guitar and greeting in Memento Black Ink from the Epic Celebration Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set! Using the Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends Marker, I colored in the guitar. Next, I layered this onto a Basic Black square. I wrapped some Silver Metallic Thread around my hand to make loops, slide them off my hand and twisted into a figure 8 and laid them on the back of the focal point. Then I added Stampin’ Dimensionals to secure the ends and fan out the loops on the back. Once all was secure, I added this to the card front. I really struggled with where to place it because a lot of my splatter was in the center of the card and I had to cover some of it. TIP: Splatter more on the edges next time. 🙂

Don’t forget that there is only a week and half left of Sale-A-Bration. There are the original items, 2nd Release Items, and even Catalog Items for you to pick from! My favorite catalog item is the Myths & Magic Glimmer Paper! Bring on the bling!!!! Technique Tuesday – Brusho Baby Wipe!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! You all know what that means…..I have a fabulous technique to share with you today! I’m showing your this fun Brusho Baby Wipe Technique. This idea came from my upline, Meg Loven! I knew I had to try it because she said it was a safe way to use Brusho and that’s all me! I prefer to have more control with my Brusho or technique than just tapping it on! If you want to see more samples using Brusho, check them out here, here, and here!

Brusho Baby Wipe, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I just love that funky background with the Converse looking shoes and awesome greeting! This card is great for tweens, teens, and adults!! I love it!

I started with a Night of Navy card base. Next, I cut two pieces of Whisper White cardstock (4″ x 5-1/4″), one for the front and one for the inside to write on. For the technique, I took a baby wipe (wet) and tapped on some Brusho Crystal Colour. Right away the color starts to bleed all over. Then I just pressed the cardstock into the baby wipe to pick up the color. A full baby wipe of ink is not necessary, simple press the cardstock into the spot where the ink is as much or as little as you wish! This technique can be used on a few cards or until the baby wipe dries up, simply add more color. Actually you could always spray the baby wipe to moisten it again too! Once it was dry, I added it to the card front with Tear And Tape for a nice strong hold. I just prefer to know it’s going to stick really well and not come apart since water warps the paper.

Navy Converse Shoes, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Now for the decorations, I cut a 2-1/2″ Night of Navy square and a 2-1/4″ Whisper White square. Then, I stamped the shoes from the Epic Celebrations Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set in Memento Black Ink. Using the Dark Navy Stampin’ Blends Marker, I colored in the shoes. This was probably the hardest part as I was so afraid I would color the laces or the bottom on accident! 🙂 I added this piece to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Then I stamped the greeting from the same set in Night of Navy Ink. Using the Magical Mates Framelits, I die cut out the banner. Then I die cut another banner in Night of Navy and cut it in half. I added one half peaking out on the left and the other peaking out on the right. Layering with a single framelit or punch like this really makes them more useful and that makes me happy! 🙂 I added the greeting to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals as well!

Red Converse Shoes, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Myths & Magic Suite!!!

Posted on

Oh My Goodness!!! I first saw the Myths & Magic Suite in the Occasions Mini Catalog and thought I need that for making cards for the kids I send cards too! Well I fell super in love and feel like these cards are great for kids and adults…..even better!!! I’ll be sharing samples with this Suite over the next week or so so stay tuned (or get a sneak peak in the video below)!

Unicorns & Rainbows, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Do you believe in unicorns?? You should now! Look at this beauty! I did play with a few other options for clouds in stamp class. Plain white clouds, white clouds with Wink of Stella and the iridescent glimmer paper from the Myths & Magic Glimmer Paper Pack….I love them all!

I started with a Pumpkin Pie card base. Next, I took a piece of Soft Sky measuring 3-3/4″ x 5″ to layer on all of the decorations. For the greeting, I stamped it in Bermuda Bay Ink from the Magical Day Stamp Set. Then I punched it out with the Pretty Label Punch and added it to the upper left corner! Next, I added the rainbow from the Rainbow Builder Framelits. I only used 4 colors (Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay, and Pumpkin Pie) for my rainbow, omitting the smallest and two largest! This is all personal preference. I picked these colors because I used them for the Unicorn hair with my Stampin’ Blends. I just added some Snail in a rainbow curve and placed each color on top but the Fine Tip Glue Pen would also work!

Myths & Magic Suite, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Next, I added my unicorn before filling in with clouds. For the unicorn, I stamped her in Memento Black Ink from the Magical Day Stamp Set and then die cut her out with the coordinating Magical Mates Framelits (Bundle & Save 10%). Using the Stampin’ Blends, I colored the hair of the unicorn and then added her to the card front. To finish it off, I filled in with clouds on the rainbow and around the card. For the clouds, there are lots of options…..Soft Sky, Whisper White, Glimmer Paper, and adding Wink of Stella! If you need to cut a large cloud, simply use the other part in another spot! The small cloud on the bottom is a die for a half cloud!

Happy Birthday 2 U!!!

Posted on

Here is another fun Eclipse Technique Card. You can check out the other sample I posted last week here! Today, I’m using numbers and letters with this Happy Birthday 2 U card!

Happy Birthday 2 U, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I love how this one turned out with my homemade designer paper by stamping all over the background!!! It also uses my favorite stamp set right now….Picture Perfect Birthday from the Occasions Mini Catalog!

I started with a Lemon Lime Twist card base measuring 4-1/4″ x 11″. Next, I took a piece of Whisper White cardstock (4″ x 5-1/4″) and stamped all over the background using the Picture Perfect Birthday Stamp Set. The greeting was stamped in Bermuda Bay Ink and the confetti in Lemon Lime Twist Ink. For the bows, I stamped the big part off once using Berry Burst Ink and then stamped the small detailed pieces in full strength Berry Burst.

Eclipse Technique, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Now that I have my “designer paper” ready  to go, I die cut out the 2 U using the Large Letter Framelits and Large Number Framelits. Also, I die cut 3 more 2’s and U’s in Lemon Lime cardstock. To assemble, I added the die cut piece to the card front flat with regular Snail Adhesive. Then using the Fine Tip Glue Pen, I added all 3 layers of the Lemon Lime Twist 2’s and U’s like a puzzle. Just layering them on top of each other for that raised look. Once the 3 layers are on, I added the stamped 2 and U. That simple popped up look is just fabulous!

Large Number Framelits, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I finished off the card with some Silver Metallic Enamel Shapes for a pop of bling and some ribbon. Wondering where that ribbon came from?? It’s the Whisper White Metallic Edge Ribbon colored with a Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Blends Marker. MIND BLOWN! It’s so much fun and super quick to create. I love it!!

Blends Colored Ribbon, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Let me know what you would create with your Eclipse Technique. I need some words….short words…..to use for cards. I’m thinking maybe Hope or Love for the next one. Give me some ideas in the comments below! Also, if you are ready to make the leap and get these fabulous framelits, now is the time because you will earn Sale-A-Bration goodies with the order! Technique Tuesday – Water Drops on Flowers!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! You all know what that means….I have a fabulous technique to share with you today! I’m going to show your how to add water drops on flowers to make it look even more real!!!

Water Drops on Flowers, www.LaurasStampPad.com

So you might not be able to see the drops of water very well….they are clear after all but look closely at the orange center of the yellow flower and a few spots on that purple flower. See that fabulous-ness which is subtle but a major WOW factor!!!

I started with a 3″ x 3″ square of the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper. This size is perfect because you can get 12 squares from one sheet and it uses every inch! I love that! I colored this piece with the Stampin’ Blends Markers. This designer paper makes blending and shading super easy because the darker spots are where I used the dark marker and then I filled in and blended with the lighter marker. I have really fallen in love with Stampin’ Blends lately! Next, I used an Aqua Painter to splatter water over the flowers. Just drip or flick the water till you have the desired amount and then pour some Clear Embossing Powder over the top! Tap off the excess powder but be careful that if there are big drops of water to not make them drip. Then, I set the powder with the Heat Tool!

Water Droplets, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Next, I layered this piece onto an Old Olive square and then to a Whisper White card base! The greeting was stamped in Rich Razzleberry Ink using the images from the Petal Palette Stamp Set! For a little texture, I added some Crushed Curry Mini Chevron Ribbon and Old Olive Enamel Shapes!

If you would like to see this all in action, check out the Video Tutorial below or click here! Be sure to give the video a thumbs up if you liked it and don’t forget to subscribe if you are new. If you would like a notification when I post a new video, be sure to click the bell right next to the subscribe!!!

This Little Piggy….

Posted on

Isn’t this greeting just precious?!?!?! This Little Piggy Loves You!! This was the card that I gave Brad for Valentine’s Day last week. Of course the inside said “little piglet loves you too.” It’s just super cute!

This Little Piggy, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I started with a Whisper White card base. Next, I took a piece of Real Red cardstock (4″ x 5-1/4″) and added a strip of Night of Navy Gingham Ribbon to the bottom portion. Simply wrapped the ends to the backside and added it to the card front. Then, I took another piece of Night of Navy Gingham Ribbon and made a little bow. Using Mini Glue Dots, I added the bow the card front. This is a fun way to save on ribbon and still get the sweet look of a bow. Also, you can position the bow any way you would like with this technique!

The greeting was stamped in Real Red Ink from the This Little Piggy Stamp Set and then punched out with the 3/4″ Circle Punch. I layered the greeting onto a Real Red 1″ Circle Punch and then onto a Night of Navy 1-3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch. Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, I added the greeting to the card front!

This Little Piggy, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Now for the focal point, I used the Layering Squares Framelits for the scallop and smooth square. Then I stamped the piggy from the This Little Piggy Stamp Set in Memento Black Ink! I used the Stampin’ Blends to colors in the cutie!!! Pink Pirouette for the piggy. Bronze for the dirt and hooves. Old Olive for the grass! He’s just so cute!!! I layered these together and added them to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals! I just love dimensionals.

Ombre Birthday Greeting!!!

Posted on

Happy Monday!!! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Today, I’m sharing this simple and yet fabulous ombre birthday card!!! I just love Ombre…..check out more samples here! The Stampin’ Blend make creating an ombre look super easy too!

Ombre Birthday Greeting, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I started with a Whisper White card base and layered on a piece of the Picture Perfect Party Designer Series Paper (4″ x 5-1/4″). This paper has so many perfect patterns for this style of card – bows, cookies, donuts, confetti, and more! I love it! Now for that fabulous ombre birthday greeting!

Stampin' Blends, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I stamped the greeting from the Birthday Wishes For You Stamp Set in Memento Black Ink onto Whisper White! Then using the Bermuda Bay and Pool Party Stampin’ Blends, I colored the greeting. Starting with the “bi” using the dark Bermuda Bay marker and doing 2 letters with each color. I went from dark Bermuda Bay, light Bermuda Bay, Dark Pool Party to light Pool Party! These colors were perfect for creating that ombre look! Next, I layered this onto a piece of Peekaboo Peach and added it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. To finish off the card, I added a few  Bermuda Bay Enamel Shapes! This card is super simple and easy to change up the colors to the designer paper you have on hand or colors you prefer!

Half Ombre Birthday, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I did this ombre look using just the dark and light Bermuda Bay and creating the ombre from top to bottom. The only problem I had with this was that the middle where I had to color more to get the blending (rather than a distinct line) bled out. When going over a spot over and over, it will bleed wider on the paper and so that is how this happened. I think maybe if I did a little bit of blending on each one and allowed it to dry more in between, I might not have had this problem!

I have really fallen in love with the Stampin’ Blends and have been having lots of fun with them! Have you tried them? What are your favorite colors? Let me know in the comments below!

Lots of Lavender!!!

Posted on

Yesterday I shared a fun way to use the Lots of Lavender Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set which you can see here! Today, I’m coloring with the set!

Lots of Lavender, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I just love flowers and since this card doesn’t have a greeting on the front, it can be used for lots of occasions! What occasion would you use it for – Thinking of You, Sympathy, Birthday, Anniversary, etc?? Let me know in the comments below!

I started with a Whisper White card base. Next, I took a piece of Rich Razzleberry cardstock (4″ x 5-1/4″) and embossed the left side with the New Petal Pair Embossing Folder. That little side border of texture is super fabulous!! Before adding this piece of the front of the card, I wrapped some Organza Ribbon around it and tied it into a knot!

Flowers Sale-A-Bration, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the focal point, I took a piece of Whisper White and stamped the lavender bouquet from the Sale-A-Bration Lot of Lavender Stamp Set. It was stamped in Memento Black Ink since I used the Stampin’ Blends to color in the flowers! I used Rich Razzleberry for the lavender, Old Olive for the greenery, and Bermuda Bay for the ribbon! After coloring the flowers, I added this to a layer of Old Olive cardstock and then added it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals! This gives it some more texture and a smooth look over the ribbon and embossed portion. Adding the Metallic Enamel Shapes is optional for a little bling……or necessary if you need to cover up a boo boo. I won’t say why I added them! 😉 You can guess and let me know in the comments though!

I know I love all the flower stamps but this one is super fun because it’s FREE with Sale-A-Bration and it can be colored in or stamped for color with the other images in the set! The versatility of the set is just amazing!
