Floating Hot Air Balloon Card!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!! You know what that means! I have a fabulous technique to share with you today!!! Check out this fun floating Hot Air Balloon Card!!! I love how Window Sheets can create so much illusion on a card!!!

Floating Hot Air Balloon Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

All the beautiful Hot Air Balloons floating in the sky. I have been to St. Louis to the Hot Air Balloon Race and it was amazing. I would love to go to the one in Arizona!

This card has a Seaside Spray card base measuring 4-1/4″ x 11. I started by stamping the clouds and small hot air balloons all over the center of the card front. I used the stamps from the Above the Clouds Stamp Set. The clouds were stamped in Seaside Spray and the balloons in Basic Gray. Be sure to stay in the middle of the so that your images aren’t coming out the sides from your frame. I placed a scrap piece over the edge if I wanted an image near the edge.

Stitched Rectangle Frame, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Next, I die cut the Stitched Rectangle frame by placing the 2 framelits down and securing them with a Post It Note so I could create multiples and they would stay in place. I added a piece of Window Sheet to the back of the frame and then added it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals!

Rainbow Hot Air Balloon, www.LaurasStampPad.com

To finish off the front of the card, I added a Hot Air Balloon flat on the Window Sheet for that floating Hot Air Balloon look. There are 2 different styles of balloons in the Above the Clouds Stamp Set as you can see in the photos above. Using Stampin’ Blends, I colored them in and punched them out with the coordinating Hot Air Balloon Punch. The baskets were both stamped onto Basic Gray and punched out. I thought the border needed a little something so I tied a little bow with some Whisper White Baker’s Twine and secured it with a Mini Glue Dot.

Let Your Dreams Sore, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Of course, I had to stamp on the inside with a few clouds and balloons and that fabulous greeting! I think this will be a perfect card for my nieces and nephews!

Mosaic Butterflies too!!!

Posted on

I have been having so much fun with the Mosaic Suite lately. You can check out other samples here and here! Did you know there are mosaic butterflies too?? The Butterfly Gala Stamp Set has the perfect mosaic butterfly to coordinate with this Suite!

Mosaic Butterflies too, www.LaurasStampPad.com

So simple but just stunning with that greeting, amazing paper, and mosaic butterflies too!!! I just love it!!!

I started with a So Saffron card base. Next, I took a piece of the Mosaic Mood Designer Series Paper (3-3/4″ x 3-3/4″) and layered it onto Terracotta Tile cardstock measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. Then I stamped the greeting from the Bloom & Grow Stamp Set on a piece of Petal Pink cardstock (3-3/4″ x 1″). The greeting is stamped in Terracotta Tile Ink. I layered that above the designer paper. To cover the gap between the greeting and designer paper, I added a piece of the Terracotta Tile Scalloped Linen Ribbon. Just place the ribbon across and secure the ends on the back side with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added more to the back and placed it on the card base!

For the butterflies, I used the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set. I stamped the butterfly in Crushed Curry Ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock. Then I stamped the solid butterfly image in Crushed Curry as well but stamped off once. This gives that lighter look. The centers of the butterflies were stamped in Soft Suede. Using the coordinating Butterfly Duet Punch, I punched them out and added them to the card front.

Mosaic Roses, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the inside, I added a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock (4″ x 5-1/4″)! Using a scrap piece of the designer paper that was leftover, I added it to the left hand side. This is a great way to use up those little leftover strips of designer paper! Decorate the inside of the card!!!

Check out the supply list below so you can make this beautiful mosaic butterfly card!

Stamping Layered Flowers!!!

Posted on

I love stamping with flowers….that’s no secret for sure! There are just so many fabulous ways to use them like this fun background card but also this one I’m sharing today! Stamping layered flowers gives a whole new look to the flower and project! It’s super fun!

Stamping Layered Flowers, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I used the Floral Essence Stamp Set to create this stunning card. Using both the large and small flower together just makes for a whole new look!!! You totally need to try it out!

I started with a Seaside Spray card base. Next, I took a piece of Whisper White (3-3/4″ x 5″) and stamped all over it with the Floral Essence Stamp Set. I used Seaside Spray ink for both layers of the flower but the large flower I stamped off once. For the smaller flower, I used full strength Seaside Spray. It is super easy to stamp the 2 flowers because there is no right or wrong way to line up the flowers, simply overlap that center a little. I stamped the center of the flower in Crushed Curry and the leaves in Mossy Meadow. Be sure to stamp the flowers and greenery off the edge of the cardstock so the image seems to be continuous!

After stamping this fabulous layered flower, I layered this piece onto Crumb Cake (4″ x 5-1/4″). Before layering it onto the card front, I added a strip of the Seaside Spray Scalloped Linen Ribbon. Simply secure the ends on the back side with Stampin’ Dimensionals and add a few more to secure it to the card front!

Rococo Rose Flowers, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Here I did the same card in Rococo Rose and it looks just as fabulous! For the greeting, I used Circle Punches to punch out Whisper White and Crumb Cake. The greeting is from the same Floral Essence Stamp Set and in the same ink color used for the flowers! This makes fewer supplies used which makes things easier! I added a few loops of Linen Thread behind the greeting for some texture and to make the greeting POP!

Which color do you prefer for your layered flowers card?? Let me know in the comments below! If you can’t wait to create this same card, check out the supply list below!!!

It is a Tree!!!

Posted on

Did you know that it is a tree stamp in the Memorable Mosaic Stamp Set? I totally thought the tree top was just a background or mossy greenery dangling down. Then I looked at the trunk image and couldn’t figure it out. I thought maybe a koi fish or something. When I looked in the catalog, I realized it is a tree. Of course, it is!

It is a tree, www.LaurasStampPad.com

It is not just any tree….it is a beautiful one!!! How cool is this card?!?! I thought the greeting from the Colorful Seasons Stamp Set was perfect for this card! It is perfect for any card because lets be honest, sometimes we all need to be told to just breathe! Am I right??

I started with a Night of Navy card base. Next, I cut a piece of Pool Party (4″ x 5-1/4″) and stamped the greeting from Colorful Seasons along the bottom. It was stamped in Night of Navy Ink. Then I took a piece of Very Vanilla (3-3/4″ x 4-1/4″) for the focal point. It is a bit longer so that I could rip off the bottom after stamping and coloring for some texture.

Mosaic Tree, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the tree, I stamped the leaves first in Call Me Clover Ink. I stamped down once, lifted and moved it over just a bit and stamped again. This gives more leaves and colors for a fuller look on the tree. Next, I stamped the trunk in Soft Suede Ink. By stamping the tree first and working your way down, you know you won’t run out of room. If you stamped the trunk and it was too high, your leaves would fall off the top of the cardstock.

After stamping, I took the brush tip of the Stampin’ Blends and just colored in. I used Pool Party Light for the sky and Soft Suede Light for the ground. Simply swipe the ink across in a rough look. Don’t worry about filling it all in perfectly, just swipe across. It might look crazy at first but set it aside and work on the rest of the card and then come back and it will be fabulous! I ripped the bottom and then added it to the Pool Party layer. Using some of the new Night of Navy/Sahara Sand Baker’s Twine, I wrapped it around and tied it into a knot. Since the twine is bumpy, I added this layer to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals for a smooth look!

Mosaic Card Insert, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the inside of the card, I added a layer of Very Vanilla (4″ x 5-1/4″) and stamped the mosaic circles on the corners in Night of Navy Ink. This are from the Memorable Mosaic Stamp Set! The perfect little decoration!

Fussy Cutting Frenzy!!!

Posted on

Do you like to fussy cut?? You know where you cut out an image by hand rather than having a punch or framelit! I’m not a fan of it because I don’t have the patience. Apparently the day I made this card I had lots of time because I went on a Fussy Cutting Frenzy!!!

Fussy cutting frenzy, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Minus the fussy cutting frenzy that took place to make this card, it was a fairly simple card. The amazing Mosaic Mood Designer Series Paper and Memorable Mosaic Stamp Set did all the hard work!

I started with a Mint Macaron card base. Next, I stamped along the side using the Memorable Mosaic Stamp Set and Mint Macaron Ink. TIP: Start somewhere in the middle with the circle image. Then stamp the twisted image on either side and fill in till it is complete. Also, make sure the twisted image is on the edge/falls off the edge. The designer paper will cover up the other end so if they aren’t all level, that’s okay! I did this same stamped image on the inside of the card too!

Next, I added the piece of Mosaic Mood Designer Series Paper measuring 3-1/4″ x 5-1/2″. Be sure it covers up all of the ends of the twisted stamped images. Then I fussy cut out the hummingbird from another piece of the Mosaic Mood Designer Series Paper. This paper is so gorgeous! Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, I added the hummingbird to the card front!

For the greeting, I stamped it in Soft Suede Ink and punched it out with the coordinating Timeless Label Punch (Bundle & Save 10%). Then I stamped it again in Terracotta Tile Ink so I could fussy cut (hand cut it out) out the word kindness. Next, I glued the word kindness over the other one and flipped it over to add the ribbon. Using Stampin’ Dimensionals to secure the ribbon, I laid the ribbon down in a squiggle pattern and then added it to the card front.

Memorable Mosaic, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the inside, I did the same pattern of stamping along the edge and then I added some Very Vanilla cardstock to write on! This also covers up the unevenness of the twisted stamped image! 🙂

If you would like to see all of this in action, check out the video below or click here! Be sure to give the video a thumbs up if you liked it and don’t forget to subscribe if you are new. Punched Purple Posy!!!

Posted on

Happy Monday!!! The New In Colors are here but sadly Purple Posy isn’t! Stampin’ Up is having some quality issues with this color and they want to make it right before selling it! While that is super frustrating to not have this color, we all want a good product, right?!?!? Since I love the color but don’t have the ink pad, I’m just using the cardstock!!! Check out this beautiful Punched Purple Posy card!!!

Punched Purple Posy, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Here I used the cardstock for the flowers and layer and didn’t need the ink pad! Thinking of out the box so I can use this fabulous new color! I’m loving purple so much lately! (Have I mentioned Claire looks really good in Purple too?? 🙂 )

I started with a Mint Macaron Card base measuring 4-1/4″ x 11″! Next, I stamped all over the background with the leaves from the Floral Essence Stamp Set! I used Mint Macaron Ink for the leaves for that perfect tone on tone look! Then I layered on a piece of Purple Posy cardstock measuring 3″ x 4″.

Floral Essence Purple Posy, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the focal point, I cut a piece of Whisper White measuring 2-1/2″ x 3-1/2″
and stamped the greeting from the Floral Essence Stamp Set along the bottom in Memento Black Ink! I stamped 2 of the flowers from the same set onto Purple Posy cardstock too! You need 2 flowers so they overlay perfectly for that full punched purple posy! I don’t know that this is a Posy though…..I’m not good with flower names but I’m pretty sure. 🙂 Before adding the white layer to the card front, I tied some Mint Macaron Textile Ribbon around it. Then I added it to the card front and adhered the flower with Stampin’ Dimensionals!

This style works perfectly for a lot of different occasions. Just change up the greeting and even the colors to match the occasion or season! I love it! Be sure to check out the supply list below if you would like to recreate this card!

Quick Thinking of You Card!!!

Posted on

Sometimes I like to really go all out on a card and other times I like quick and simple. That might be because of lack of time or a lack of creativity. Surely I’m not alone here. There are times I sit down to stamp and I got nothing. It is a struggle and I question everything. Then there are times I sit down and I can’t stamp/create fast enough. Try this with that and oh oh oh what about this. Have you had those days?? Let me know in the comments below! Today, I’m sharing this quick thinking of you card that I created on a blah day! Still nailed it I think! 🙂

Quick Thinking of You Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Of course it is fabulous, I used the amazing Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper!!! It is so beautiful!

I started with a Whisper White card base which means I don’t need to insert a white piece on the inside for writing on. Woot Woot! Next, I stamped the filigree image from the Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set on either ends in Mossy Meadow Ink. Then I added a 4″ x 4″ square of Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper in the middle. Using a piece of this size means that you can get 9 of these cards from 1 sheet of 12″ x 12″ paper with no waste!

For the greeting, I used the Everyday Label Punch and the NEW Timeless Label Punch!!! Stamping the greeting from the Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set on Whisper White and layering it onto Petal Pink. Before adding it to the card front, I added a small strip of the Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon. Then I added the greeting on top with Stampin’ Dimensionals!

Get through this together, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the inside, I stamped another greeting from the same set in Mossy Meadow Ink. Then I stamped one of the flowers in Petal Pink! Just perfect! Also, is this greeting not the most fabulous thing ever?? I love it!

If you want to recreate this quick thinking of you card, check out the supplies listed below! Also, check out all the Magnolia Lane Designer Paper by clicking here!

You get teary eyed at Graduations?? I always do because it is such a milestone in these graduates lives. They have accomplished so much and there is still so much for them to learn and experience. It is exciting and scary all at the same time. I think this card is perfect for Graduation – You are Unstoppable!!

You are Unstoppable, www.LaurasStampPad.com

It shows the graduate that they are amazing and can do anything they set their mind to. It also shows your love and support. The inside of the card says, “Keep reaching for your dreams, I will keep cheering you on.” I love it!!!

I started with a Flirty Flamingo card base measuring 4-1/4″ x 11″. Next, I added a piece of the All My Love Designer Series Paper measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. This paper is retiring soon but still available. Get it before it is gone! I added some Whisper White Polka Dot Ribbon along the crease/left hand side. It is just tied into a double knot. It doesn’t stand out a ton but adds a little texture. You could always go with a Lovely Lipstick Ribbon to make it really pop!

For the greeting, I used the Layering Squares Framelits for that fun scalloped edge. The scallop square is Soft Sea Foam and the smooth square is Whisper White. The greeting was stamped in Lovely Lipstick from the Strong & Beautiful Stamp Set!!! The inside of the card has the coordinating greeting stamped on Whisper White!

This card style works for a lot of different occasions. The greeting, You Are Unstoppable, works for more than just Graduation too! Change up the greeting for whatever you need! Bring on the Gingham!!!

Posted on

Gingham is soooo IN right now! I did an entire class on Gingham using the Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper! The class consisted of 2 cards for each of the 5 colors. I am going to share some today and the rest later in the week! Bring on the Gingham!!!

Bring on the Gingham, www.LaurasStampPad.com

These samples were done in Highland Heather!!! I used Gorgeous Grape and Whisper White cardstock as well!!!

Starting with the card on the left, I went with a Highland Heather card base. Next, I took a 2″ x 5-1/2″ piece of the Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper for the left hand side. Before adding it to the card front, I added a small strip of Gorgeous Grape to the left side for a little pop of color! This is also a great way to use you scraps! For the greeting, I stamped it on a scrap piece of Whisper White from the Well Said Stamp Set! It has the perfect inside/outside greetings! I layered the greeting onto a Pearlized Doily which is layered over a 2-1/4″ Circle Punch of Gorgeous Grape! I finished it off with some Gingham Gala Sequins!

For the card on the right side, I used a Highland Heather card base too! Next, I took a piece of Gorgeous Grape (4″ x 5-1/4″) and layered on a 3-3/4″ square of gingham paper! Then I took some Whisper White Woven Thread and tied it around the cardstock where the gingham paper ends. This helps to give a smooth transition from one paper to another. For the greeting, I used the 1-3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch and 1-1/4″ Circle Punch. Again I used the Well Said Stamp Set for the greeting!!

The insides of the cards have the coordinating greetings and some of the leftover gingham pieces used as decoration! No designer paper waste here!!

Lemon Lime Twist Gingham, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the Lemon Lime Twist Cards, I used all the Tailored Tag Punch!!! For the card on the left, I placed the greeting down first with Stampin’ Dimensionals. This makes it pop more! Then I just added in all around till it was covered. Then I trimmed off the ones that were hanging off the paper!

The card on the right was created using a piece of Lemon Lime Twist gingham measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. I layered the greeting with 2 of the tags just off set a bit. Using the Silver Baker’s Twine, I added some loops and secured it to the back of the greeting!

Again for the insides of the cards, I used leftover pieces of the designer paper!!!

If you want to create these cards, check out the supplies listed below! Also, stay tuned for the other 3 colors in the pack! I will be posting those later this week! Bring on the Gingham! Also, check out these designer paper tips!
