The Ombre Look!!!

Posted on

It was probably less than a year ago when I heard about the Ombre look (I never said I was a fashionista or super knowledgeable about current trends). 🙂 BUT since then I have seen it literally everywhere…..cakes, hair, clothing, decorations, and so much more! I have loved the look with my cards too!!! It is so beautiful and the gradual colors are amazing! You can check out another Ombre Card here!

Ombre Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card is so beyond simple I almost felt the need to add something more to it but then I thought no, simple it good! I have punched Night of Navy, Marina Mist, and Soft Sky one inch squares. You could just use your paper cutter to create the one inch squares too! The greeting is from the Feels Good Stamp Set and I used my markers to ink it up so I could use more than one color! This is a great use of those left over scraps that you have laying around too! Try out an Ombre look and send me you masterpiece! I would love to see what you come up with!

Technique Tuesday – Lollipop Card!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!!! That means I have a fabulous Technique to share with you! This is a great way to use up some scrap pieces of cardstock that you have laying around and it is SUPER CUTE!

Lollipop Card, www.LaurasStampPad.comI love this card because of the bright colors and the fun that a lollipop brings!!! And this card is super simple…..besides the spacing of the lollipop circles which took me 3 times to finally get it right! 🙂

Supplies Needs: Crumb Cake Cardstock for card base, White Chalk Marker, scraps of white and various colors of cardstock, 1 inch Circle Punch, & Ribbon

I punched 11 different colors of cardstock with my 1 inch Circle Punch. You could do all shades of one color or lots of different colors! Then I took a 2 inch Circle Punched Piece (you could use any piece of scrap paper), find the center and then start attaching your circles. I held a pencil at the center point and made sure all of my circles touched that pencil point, this way I was sure I was going in a circle. I did have some troubles with my spacing which will vary depending on how many circles you use and all so I don’t have a spacing amount to share with you. I will say that when you start putting the circles down, don’t use a ton of adhesive in case you need to re-position. At the end which attaching it to my card, I added lots of dimensionals for extra adhesive and to POP it up! I added a little knot of ribbon around the lollipop stick (which is just cardstock). You could use a dowel rod but that will make it hard to mail. For the border, I used my Chalk Marker to add dash marks! I love how this adds a cute border without adding layers!!!! I hope you enjoyed this card and try it out! Be on the lookout for more great cards that use up your leftover scraps!

I LOVE MONKEYS!!!!

Posted on

Have I ever mentioned before how I LOVE monkeys! Sock Monkeys are my favorite and I have at least 8 that I can think of off hand right now! They are just soooo cute! I’m not the only one here, right? Okay so maybe I am!

Monkey Invitations, www.LaurasStampPad.comSo I had someone reach out to me to make their daughter’s 1st Birthday invitations and when I asked for the theme she sent me a photo of the plates that are going to be used! THERE ARE MONKEYS ON THERE! I knew right then and there, this is my dream job! Here are 2 samples that I came up with! What do you think? I used punches for the little monkey faces – circles, ovals, hearts, and flowers! I do think that the one of the left needs bigger hands and maybe Chocolate Chip hands, rather than Crumb Cake! I’m so excited to be able to help someone create an amazing Birthday for their child and at the same time I am loving what I am doing!!! If you need invitations for your next Birthday, Anniversary, or Wedding, feel free to reach out to me!

So I Hear Gold Is In!

Wedding Card, www.LaurasStampPad.comSo I am more of a Silver Girl but I hear that GOLD is in! Either way, this card is super simple and has a great WOW factor with the Brushed Gold Cardstock (it comes in Silver too)! This card makes a great Wedding Card, 50th Anniversary Card or Invitation, Golden Birthday Card (this year is my Golden Birthday year!!!!) or just about any type of card! I used Very Vanilla Cardstock and Seam Binding and the image comes from the Label Love Stamp Set. All of the images in the set coordinate with the Artisan Label Punch! How perfect!! You can purchase them both in a bundle and save 15%!

Technique Tuesday – Mario Card

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! You know what that means – Technique Time! This is the card that I created for my husband for his Birthday! Of course he is super special to me so I wanted to make sure I made a super special card for him! He is a huge gamer and LOVES Mario! With a few punches and some cardstock, this is what I have created!
Mario Card, www.LauasStampPad.comThis was the card was created with Early Espresso as the base and mustache! Pink Pirouette was used for his face and nose! Whisper White, Basic Black and Tempting Turquoise were used for the eyes with different Oval Punches. Real Red was used for the hat! Using my sponge daubers, I added the same color as the cardstock to the nose and hat to add dimension!

Mario Card, www.LauasStampPad.com

The mustache was the hardest part….getting the size correct and the bump bumps (wish there was a mustache punch 😉 )!! Also, I ran it through the Big Shot with the Woodgrain Embossing Folder for a little texture!

The inside of the card had a One Up and Power Up on the left side! Those were created with my Corner Rounder Punch and Circle Punches! The Happy Birthday Greeting came from the Bring On the Cake Stamp Set! I love stamping that image and coloring in all the letters!

My husband LOVED IT! He lite up like a little kid in a candy store and then said so is this a challenge? Remember his adorable card, he “stamped” for me? I think so!!! Can’t wait to see what else we create! You can create just about anything with Stampin’ Up stamps, punches, cardstock, and embellishments!

Spreading Holiday Joy Series!!!!

Here is the fourth card in my Spreading Holiday Joy Series because I love sending and receiving cards in the mail!! They brighten my day and I hope they brighten the day of those I send them to! You can see the others here and here!

Tag It, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Supplies Needed: Whisper White Cards (2 cards per sheet), scrap pieces of Whisper White, scraps of Real Red and Polka Dot Parade Designer Series Paper (there is also Red Polka Dots in the pack so you could use all Designer Series Paper), and Embellished Events Stamp Set

Cut out squares of the Designer Series Paper (or Real Red Cardstock). Mine are 1.5 inch squares but you could do 1 inch squares too! Then I inked the Santa Hat with my Real Red Maker and stamped it down! Be sure to stamp before punching because then you can line it up in the center when punching! Be sure to clean the stamp real well before inking the Ho Ho Ho with your Old Olive Marker and stamping that down! I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the Hat, Ho Ho Ho, and Merry Christmas Greeting! What can I say, I love Dimensionals! Also, I have to say the Embellished Events Stamp Set is a must have in your collection!!! Check out other samples here and here!

Spreading Holiday Joy Series!!!!

Here is the second card in my Spreading Holiday Joy Series! You can see the first one here!

Festive Flurry, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card uses some of my favorite colors and my favorite set this season – Festive Flurry!

Supplies Needed: Pool Party Cardstock (2 cards per sheet), Winter Frost Designer Series Paper Stack, Whisper White Cardstock, Island Indigo Cardstock, 2-3/8″ Scallop Punch, 1-3/4″ Circle Punch, Rhinestones, Island Indigo Ink, Festive Flurry Stamp Set, and Sweet Essentials Stamp Set

My strips of the Winter Frost Designer Series Paper are all less than an inch so you can get A LOT from the Paper Stack!!! A little TIP on how to get a perfect banner each time…..on the end of the piece, make a cut in at the center, then from the corners, cut diagonal to that center cut! This will make your banner tips the same length! (I hope that made sense.) Another TIP…..the piece of white cardstock that I used for the greeting is the leftover piece from this card! On that other card, you create 5-1/4″ x 4″ rectangles and you can get 4 from each piece of 8-1/2″ x 11″ sheet of cardstock. You are left with this little strip and I used it for my greeting on this card! Gotta love using those scraps!!! You will stamp the smallest snowflake from the Festive Flurry Stamp Set onto a piece of scrap white cardstock and then punch it out with your 1-3/4″ Circle Punch, layer that onto the punched Island Indigo scallop! Add your rhinestone to the center and adhere to your card! Once your supplies are cut, this card should take about 1-1/2 minutes to 2 minutes! Be sure to check back to see the rest of the cards in the Spreading Holiday Joy Series! Also, if you would like me to send you a card, email me your address!

It is Tuesday and so I’m sharing a fabulous technique with you!!! This week it is these beautiful Bookmarks!

Bookmarks, www.LaurasStampPad.comThese bookmarks are super simple and inexpensive to create! They make great gifts for Teachers too! You can even have your children help decorate them to be apart of the gift and enjoy some crafting time together! I have created the regular Paper Bookmark and this new Ribbon Bookmark which I find super cute!

Supplies You Will Need: Ribbon (18-20 inches), Cardstock, Stampin’ Dimensionals, and Punches

Stamp your image onto a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock and then punch it out with the 1-3/4” Circle Punch. Using the 2-3/8” Scallop Circle Punch, punch a piece of colored cardstock. Adhere the stamped circle to the scallop circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals! Next, you will adhere your decoration to your ribbon. Leave a little tail hanging on the bottom of your stamped decoration with the longer piece on the top!

For the Paper Bookmark: Decorate your piece of Whisper White cardstock with your stamps! Adhere to a piece of colored cardstock (2×4″)! Fold a piece of ribbon in half and staple it to the top of your bookmark!

Spectacular Samples!

I thought I would share some of my projects that I have created with some of the stamp sets (and Framelits) that are on sale this week so you can see them in action!!!! One of my super favorites is the Dress Framelits!

Dress Framelits, www.LaurasStampPad.com

The card on the left side was cut out on Glimmer Paper and I added ribbon around the waist for a little pop of color to match my card base! Of course I added the purple ink to the edges of the Whisper White cardstock with my sponge daubers! The card on the right side was created using the Puzzle Resist Technique….which uses sponge daubers too (of course)!!! You can check out more about this Technique HERE!

Betsy's Blossom's, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Betsy’s Blossom Stamp Set has flowers so of course it is one of my favorites!!! Why is it that I always gravitate towards flower sets? Probably because they are so much fun and pretty and colorful!!!!! These were samples that I created a while back for a class that I did featuring this stamp set. That’s right, I loved this set so much I did an entire class with it!!!! The card on the left was stamped in Basic Gray and Daffodil Delight and then I stamped more Daffodil Delight flowers on scrap paper and punched them out with the Blossom Punch and layered them on top!!! The card on the right features all of the 2012-2014 In-Colors! I stamped the flower in each color and added a little Flower from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack and a Rhinestone! What makes a flower even better? BLING!
