You Are My Sunshine!!!

Posted on

You Are My Sunshine, My Only Sunshine! Are you singing it too or is that just me? This greeting is perfect for this beautiful butterfly card! It is so bright and cheerful!

You Are My Sunshine, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Blue and yellow go so well together, don’t you think?? I love these colors – Pacific Point and Pineapple Punch!!!

I started with a Whisper White card base. Next, I took a piece of Pacific  Point (4″ x 5-1/4″) and embossed the butterfly from the Springtime Impressions Framelits. This is a framelit that I used to emboss with the Embossing Mat. Check out this post and this post on how to emboss with framelits. Also, I die cut a full butterfly in Pineapple Punch. Don’t layer this onto your card front just yet because we need to do that greeting and wrap the ribbon around to the back.

Layered Punches, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Now for the greeting, I used a few different punches. First, I punched out a white label with the Pretty Label Punch. Next, I punched out a 1-1/2″ Circle Punch in Pacific Point. Then I stamped the greeting from the Stitched All Around Stamp Set in Pineapple Punch and punched it out with the 1-3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch. For the layering, I added them all together with regular Snail Adhesive. For those little ribbon slider holes, I used the Detailed Trio Punch. In order to line it up in the correct spot, I punched out a scrap one, placed it in the desired spot and pressed with my scissors to make a mark. Then I slid it into the Detailed Trio Punch and punched the hole. I did that on both sides and slid the ribbon through securing it on the back with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then I added this to the bottom of the embossed Pacific Point piece. Wrap the ends of the ribbon to the back and add this piece to the card front!

Impressed Butterfly, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Now it is time to finish off with that die cut butterfly. I suggest putting this on last so that you don’t put it too low and in the way of your greeting. Using Mini Glue Dots, I adhered it and then added a few Rhinestones down the center for some bling! I love it! This is a great card to have on hand to brighten someone’s day.

Copper Leaves!!!

Posted on

Happy Wednesday!!! This has been one heck of a busy week and it’s only Wednesday! Seeing all the back to school photos is making my head spin….how is it that time of year already?!?!

Copper Leaves, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I really struggled with this card and all of the different options. Did I like the Copper Foil with the rustic Copper Trim? Did I want to color in the leaves or leave them alone? Was the greeting piece to plain or too much?

I started with a Crumb Cake card base. Next, I layered on a piece of Cajun Craze measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. Then I took a piece of Very Vanilla (3-3/4″ x 5″) and stamped the leaves from the Blended Seasons Stamp Set in Cajun Craze Ink. Using the NEW Watercolor Pencils Assortment 2, I colored in a few leaves with the Cajun Craze and Cherry Cobbler Pencils.

Texture & Shine, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the focal point, I die cut out a label with the coordinating Stitched Seasons Framelits. (Save back the outline/negative to use for another project like this one.) On the back of the label, I placed some pieces of the Copper Trim on the edge and secured them in place with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then I added this piece to the card front.

For the center greeting, I took a scrap strip of Very Vanilla and slide in the back of the Pretty Label Punch to get those rounded edges. Next, I stamped the greeting from the Blended Seasons Stamp Set in Cajun Craze Ink. Now that I know how long my greeting piece needs to be, I slide the other end into the punch and rounded those corners as well. This is just another fun way to use your punches on different sized greetings. I die cut out the Copper Foil leaves with the Stitched Seasons Framelits and added those around the center greeting!

Don’t forget that the Blended Seasons Stamp Set and coordinating Stitched Seasons Framelits are only available this month (August) and while supplies last so don’t wait long. You can check out more samples using it here and here! Click the photos below to shop for the items used in this card!

Fixing Your Broken Punch!!!

Posted on

It’s okay! It’s not really broken! Today, I’m showing you how we are fixing your broken punch!!! Have you ever had that little plastic release button in the back pop out??? No worries, that doesn’t mean your punch is forever broken!

Fixing Your Broken Punch, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Have you ever had this happen?? That little plastic piece in the back of your punch pops out. This happens when it is slid into the locked position and you go to punch something. It gets pushed out when that happens. Keeping it in the unlocked position while using it is best. I feel like I have some punches that always pop out and others that never had. Who knows…but I do know how to fix it and I’m sharing that with you!

All you need to do it gently pop that plastic piece back into the slot in the back. It will need pressure to get it back in and it will sort of snap back in. Be sure to put it in with the notch closer to the outside edge of the punch. If you pop it in the other way, it won’t slide closed/locked because it will hit that notch. No worries, just pop it back out and flip it around!

Let me know in the comments below if you have had a punch do this!!!

Check out the Video Tutorial below or click here to see this all in action because it makes more sense seeing it than reading about it, I’m sure! 🙂 I hope you found this super useful. Polka Dots & Stripes!!!

Posted on

Happy Monday!!! I just love Polka Dots and Stripes and the In Color Designer Series Paper Stack is just that. It’s amazing for any style of card!!! Last week I showed off the One Sheet Wonder with this 6″ x 6″ stack and today I have more samples.

Polka Dots & Stripes, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For this card, the stripes make the card so cheerful. Sending this out to a friend is sure to brighten their day!! The card above uses the 5-1/4″ x 4″ piece of Designer Paper. I added some Whisper White Classic Weave Ribbon and the greeting from the Accented Blooms Stamp Set. The greeting was punched out with the coordinating Tailored Tag Punch.

Decorate the Inside, www.LaurasStampPad.com

So I wasn’t wasting any pieces, I placed the little 4″ x 3/4″ piece on the inside as a little decoration. I feel like it really pulls the card together!

Dots of Thanks, www.LaurasStampPad.com

The other piece was used on this simple card! This piece measures 5-1/2″ x 2″ and I simply stamped the greeting directly to the card base! You could always stamp this on Whisper White and punch it out to give the card a little more texture!

6x6 One Sheet Wonder, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Here is the template for cutting the Designer Paper for these cards!!! I just love One Sheet Wonders!!! Also, if you would like to see this all in action, check out my Video Tutorial.

Let me know what designer series paper you would use for this One Sheet Wonder in the comments below!

Blooms with Happiness!!!

Posted on

Happy Wednesday!!! Woot woot for the middle of the week already!!! I hope your day blooms with happiness each and every day!!! This card surely would help, wouldn’t it??

Blooms with Happiness, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Yesterday, I talked about the amazing tip using the Tufted Embossing Folder and here is the card I was using it on! I just love that textured background. It’s subtle but also adds so much to the card!

I started with a Balmy Blue card base. Next, I took a piece of Whisper White (4″ x 5-1/4″) and ran it through the Big Shot in the Tufted Embossing Folder. Then I added this to the card front. For the focal point, I cut a piece of Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper into a 3″ square. That means you can get 16 of these from one sheet of paper! The Whisper White piece measures 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″.

Tulips In a Vase, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Now here comes the tricky part….but don’t worry I did the leg work for you. After four tries, I nailed it! 🙂 First, I stamped the greeting from the Varied Vases Stamp Set in Rich Razzleberry. Then, I punched out the vase using the coordinating Vases Builder Punch with some scrap paper. This will be your guide for stamping the stems. Place the scrap vase on the white square above the greeting but not so high that you don’t have room for your flowers. Next, I stamped the stem and leaf in Old Olive Ink.

TIP: Since the stems and leaf are so long/big, you might need to place a scrap piece of paper down to mask the vase so that you don’t have a stem popping out the side of your vase. To achieve this, I placed a larger scrap piece over the scrap punched vase and made marks on the paper on either side of the vase lip. This helped me know that I needed to stamp the stems inside that area so that it would fall inside the vase.

Vase Masking Tutorial, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Once the stems and leaf were stamped, the rest is easy. Simply stamp the vase in Balmy Blue onto scrap Whisper White and punch it out. The tulips were stamped in Grapefruit Grove and punched out. I stamped the outline in full strength and the inside image stamped off once for a lighter shade. Using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals, I added these to my project. I off set the two squares for a fun little look and finished off the card with a few Share What You Love Pearls.

Don’t forget the Buy 3, Get 1 Free Designer Series  Paper Sale going on this month. The Tranquil Textures Designer Paper that I used for this card is one of the select packs!! Click here to see them all!

Technique Tuesday – Tufted Embossing Folder Tip!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! Today, I have a super cool Tufted Embossing Folder Tip! When I realized this cool little tip, I was super excited….maybe too excited! It’s the little things in life! 🙂

Tufted Embossing Folder Tip, www.LaurasStampPad.com

When I was using the Tufted Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to create a card, I noticed this line! At the bottom of the folder, there is a line straight across. If you line up your cardstock with that line, your embossed image will be straight on your cardstock. How cool is that?!?!?! MIND BLOWN! This little line made it really easy and quick to pop in the cardstock and go.

Simply place the cardstock into the folder. Line up the edge of it with that line and squeeze the folder on the other end. This will hold the cardstock in place as you pull your fingers out. Place it in the Big Shot and crank crank crank! Since this is one of the Textured Impressions Folder, the layers are as follows:

Multi-Purpose Platform – if it is the older style with the hinges, open up Tab #2. If it is the newer style, leave off the Adapter layer.

Embossing Folder with cardstock inside

One Standard Cutting Pad (clear plate)

I hope you found this super helpful!! Let me know if you get excited by the little things like this! Also, let me know if you have found little tricks to your favorite stamping tools. I would love to hear them!

Technique Tuesday – Simple One Sheet Wonder!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday, everyone!!! Technique Tuesday is back this week! Woot Woot! Today’s I’m showing your this Simple One Sheet Wonder with a 6″ x 6″ piece of Designer Series Paper!!!

Simple One Sheet Wonder, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I started out making this simple, yet fun card using the 2018-2019 In Color Designer Series Paper Stack. I love the monochromatic look and it makes for easy stamping with just one ink pad. The card base is Whisper White measuring 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″. Then I layered on a piece of the Designer Paper measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. Next, I tied some Whisper White Classic Weave Ribbon around the card and into a knot. Using the Accented Blooms Stamp Set and coordinating Tailored Tag Punch, I created the greeting. I popped the greeting up with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. This is a quick and simple card.

In Color One Sheet Wonder, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I realized  I had a leftover piece measuring 2″ x 6″ so I created this little card. Again, I used a Whisper White card base. Then I cut the Designer Paper down to 2″ x 5-1/2″ and added it to the top. I tied the ribbon around and stamped the greeting directly to the card front. My husband said I should have popped up this greeting as well. It would make it pop more and give the card some texture. I finished the card off by adding a few rhinestones.

Love You Always, www.LaurasStampPad.com

There are 2 little pieces leftover. One measures 3/4″ x 4″ and that strip I added to the inside of the card for a little decoration. The other one I tossed since it was just 2″ x 1/2″. That is the only bit of this paper that wasn’t used though which is pretty awesome!

Simple Yet Detailed With Love!!!

Posted on

I’m loving this color combination and all the fun new products! It’s simple yet detailed with love! The power of a handmade card!

Simple Yet Detailed With Love, www.LaurasStampPad.com

The greeting for this card warms my heart so much! This is a great card to make lots of to have on hand!

I started with a Lovely Lipstick card base and stamped the floral image all over the background in Lovely Lipstick. The images comes from the Detailed With Love Stamp Set! Next, I took a piece of the NEW Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon and adhered it in the center with a little Snail Adhesive. This ribbon is super fabulous because it is tulle with felt like dots on it so it gives the card some texture as well.

Detailed Trio Punch, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the focal point, I took a piece of Blueberry Bushel cardstock measuring 4-1/4″ x 2-3/4″ and added it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. This gives the card more texture and a smooth look over the ribbon. Then I took a piece of Whisper White measuring 4″ x 2-1/2″ and stamped the greeting in the middle in Lovely Lipstick Ink. All of these images are from the Detailed with Love Stamp Set. Next, I punched all four corners with the coordinating Detailed Trio Punch (Bundle & Save 10%). After punching each of the corners, I stamped 2 opposing corners with the details corner stamp in Blueberry Bushel Ink. Then I added this piece to the card front! I love how the detail allows the blue to show through! Simple and yet has a super fun look!

Four Corners, www.LaurasStampPad.com

So here I stamped all four corners and honestly I thought it looked like a bit too much. Also, it is something I would need to practice lining up or use the Stamparatus for. I don’t think it’s noticeable along the top and bottom to be off the angle but it is super obvious on the sides where it is closer together. I wasn’t a fan of that look but again I also thought it was too much so I opted for 2 opposing corners.

If you would like to see all of this in action, check out the Video Tutorial below or click here! I hope you found this super useful. Love With All Your Heart!!!

Posted on

Happy Monday!!! I feel like this card is so heart warming and the greeting is so powerful – Live Every Moment, Laugh Every Day, Love With All of Your Heart. This card is perfect for any occasion or day!!!

Love With All Your Heart, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Shades of pink, sweet hearts, and that amazing greeting makes me love this card so much!

I started with a Powder Pink card base. Next, I took a piece of Whisper White measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″ and stamped hearts on the top half. The hearts are from the Ribbon of Courage Stamp Set and were stamped in Powder Pink and Berry Burst Ink. Be sure to fall off the edges of the cardstock so it looks like the pattern continues. On the bottom portion, I added a piece of the Powder Pink Fresh Florals Designer Paper (2″ x 5-1/4″). Then I tied some Berry Burst Crinkled Seam Binding around the middle to cover up the seam of the paper.

Hearts of Love, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the greeting, I stamped it from the Ribbon of Courage Stamp Set onto Powder Pink cardstock. Then I punched it out with the Everyday Label Punch and added it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. To finish off the card, I added some Rhinestones to the top and bottom of the greeting for a little bit of bling. I also die cut a few Berry Burst hearts with the coordinating Support Ribbon Framelits (Bundle & Save 10%). I added the hearts with the Fine Tip Glue Pen! The die cut hearts are super necessary as I did another sample without them and loved it just the same!

Mermaids Under The Sea!!!

Posted on

Whether you like the Little Mermaid Disney Movie or not, these mermaids under the sea on this card are just adorable!!! I love the layers, texture, and fun in this card so much!!!

Mermaids Under The Sea, www.LaurasStampPad.com

There is just so much fabulous-ness going on with this card. I’ll let you continue to stare at it or you can keep reading for all the details to make your own!

I started with a Pool Party card base. Next, I took another piece of Pool Party (4″ x 5-1/4″) and ran it through the Big Shot in the Seaside Embossing Folder. I added this layer to the card front. Then, I took a piece of the Myths & Magic Designer Series Paper (blue bubbles) measuring 2″ x 4-1/2″ and punched the banner tips with the Banner Triple Punch. This piece was added to the card front as well.

Swimming Mermaids, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I took the sheet of mermaids from the Myths & Magic Designer Series Paper and cut out by hand 2 different mermaids. I wanted them going in different directions so that they fit on the square better. Since I’m not a huge fan of fussy cutting, I just did a basic around the body and didn’t get into all the details. Next, I stamped the bubbles from the Magical Day Stamp Set in Bermuda Bay all over a Stitched Shape die cut square. Then I added the mermaids to the front and added this to a layer of Bermuda Bay Glimmer Paper. I liked to use Tear And Tape to add layers to glitter to make sure it has a nice strong hold.

Using the coordinating Magical Mates Framelits (Bundle & Save 10%), I die cut out some seaweed in Lemon Lime Twist and Tranquil Tide. Then I added these along the side of the glimmer square, securing them on the back side with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I finished off with a few more dimensionals and then added it to the card front! For the greeting at the bottom, I stamped it from the Picture Perfect Birthday Stamp Set onto Lemon Lime Twist cardstock. Then I punched it out with the Classic Label Punch and added it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. On either end of the greeting, I added an Epoxy Dot for even more shine and texture!

I told you there were lots of layers and fun in this card but isn’t it just so magical?!?!?! I love it even if I only make 1…or maybe 2. 🙂 The Myths & Magical Suite is retiring at the end of the May which makes me sad. Be sure to stock up on these amazing products before they are gone.
