Wondrous Wreath Planter, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Last week I showed you how to use the Wondrous Wreath Stamp Set and matching Wonderful Wreath Framelits (Bundle & Save) for a Fall and Winter Wreath and Tuesday I showed you how to make garland! Today I’m going to show you how to make a window planter full of holly!

You will start with a piece of Garden Green cardstock measuring 4-1/4″ x 11″ and score along the 11″ side at 2-3/4″ and 8-1/4″ and fold those in. This created your gate fold card base! Next you will need 2 piece of the Plaid Designer Series Paper from the Trim the Tree Paper Stack measuring 2-1/2″ x 4″. Put some adhesive on the back of one piece of Designer Series Paper and attach one end of your Cherry Cobbler Sheer Linen Ribbon (7″) to the edge (outside edge, centered from top to bottom, see photo above). Now add additional adhesive and place it on the left side panel of your card base. Adhere the right side panel as well. Now you will pull the ribbon around to the front and next to the edge of the inside portion of the panel you will apply 2 strips of Sticky Strip as shown below! Cut the end of the ribbon diagonally or with banner tips!

Instruction Photo, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Now it is time to create the window! Just like on Monday’s sample, you will start with a 3-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ piece of Early Espresso cardstock and run it through the Big Shot with your Woodgrain Texture Embossing Folder! This adds a little texture to your window! Then place four 1″ Square Punched pieces on top to resemble a window! These will be your guide! You can punch your squares out of Post-It notes on the sticky end or just use some scrap paper and add a small dab of Snail Adhesive. Now using your 1″ Square Punch, you will slide the white square in and line up those scrap squares and punch! Now you have your window!

Now to create the curtain you will need some of the Garden Green checked Designer Series Paper from the Trim the Tree Designer Paper Stack. You will need three Large Oval Punches and you will cut one in half! Turn your Window frame over (face down) and apply Snail adhesive to the back side! You will place the two full ovals on the top two windows diagonally with the green check face down and then you will add the halves to the two bottoms. These bottoms ones are only slightly diagonal. Turn over your window and it should like to curtains (see photo above). Now you can pull the Sticky Strip backs off of your card base and center your window to the front of your card. Your window should only be adhered to your card on the left side so that your card can still open!

Now for the planter, you will need a piece of Garden Green cardstock measuring 3/4″ x 3″ and you will cut a diagonal from both ends to give the shape of the planter. Then using your Sponge Dauber, brush the edges of the planter with Early Espresso. Place two Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of the planter (towards the bottom, so your holly and be tucked under) and place it on your window. You will need 1 wreath for all of the holly in the planter. I used Wild Wasbi, Garden Green, and Cherry Cobbler for my wreath and Cherry Cobbler for the Ribbon! Check out this Video Tutorial to see how to stamp and die-cut your wreath!

Now you will cut the wreath into sections about 1″ or less long. You will want to cut along the leaves so it looks like real holly and leaves. Place 2-3 of your pieces in the planter (left, center, right) with Snail Adhesive. Then take the other 2 pieces and place them in between with Stampin’ Dimenionals to add texture and dimension. Adhere the ribbon to the center of your planter and you are all done!!!

Technique Tuesday – Garland in the Window!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! That means I have a fabulous technique to share with you!!!! When I get a Stamp Set, I enjoy stamping with it in the obvious ways (click here and here) but I always like to see how I can use it in other ways! In ways that you might not think of right away! In ways that give you so many more options! So today I’m going to show you just that!!!!

Wondrous Wreath Garland, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Last week I showed you how to use the Wondrous Wreath Stamp Set and matching Wonderful Wreath Framelits (Bundle & Save) for a Fall and Winter Wreath!!! Today I’m going to show you this fabulous garland card!

Supplies Needed: Wondrous Wreath Stamp Set, Wonderful Wreath Framelits, Woodgrain Texture Embossing Folder, Big Shot, X Large Oval Punch, and 1″ Square Punch

Let’s get started! I used a piece of Soft Sky as my card base and added a piece of 4″ x 5-1/4″ Whisper White cardstock after running it through the Big Shot with my Woodgrain Texture Embossing Folder. Next you will take a piece of Whisper White cardstock measuring 3-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ and place four 1″ Square Punched pieces on top to resemble a window! These will be your guide! You can punch your squares out of Post-It notes on the sticky end or just use some scrap paper and add a small dab of Snail Adhesive. Now using your 1″ Square Punch, you will slide the white square in and line up those scrap squares and punch! Now you have your window! Then I took a piece of 3-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ Soft Sky cardstock and stamped the holly berry wreath image all over in Whisper White Ink. This created a snowy look as you gaze out the window! Once that is dry (craft ink takes a bit longer), you will adhere that to you Whisper White window frame with Stampin’ Dimensionals. By using dimensionals, it adds depth to the window and outside! You can adhere your window to the top 3/4 of your card; allowing room on the bottom for your greeting. For the garland, you will need to stamp and die-cut 2 wreaths! I used Wild Wasbi, Garden Green, and Cherry Cobbler for my wreath and Cherry Cobbler for the two Ribbons! Check out this Video Tutorial to see how to stamp and die-cut your wreath!

Now you will cut one of your wreaths in half and adhere it across your window (the across swag). With your other wreath, you will cut it in half but this time you will want to actually cut around the leaves. Since these leaves will be showing you don’t want to just cut across but actually in and around the leaves. Now you can adhere those two pieces to your window as well, pointing the ends of the garland out from the window (see picture above). I used Snail Adhesive for the Ribbons as well. For the greeting, I stamped the Happy Wonderful Christmas on a piece of scrap Whisper White cardstock and punched it out with my X Large Oval Punch! I adhered this to my card with Stampin’ Dimensionals! For the final touch, I cut out a holly berry with a few leaves from the leftover wreath pieces and adhered that next to my greeting!

I hope you enjoyed this technique on another way you can use your Wondrous Wreath Stamp Set! Be sure to check back on Thursday to see another fabulous idea!

Winter Wondrous Wreath

Posted on

Winter Wondrous Wreath, www.LaurasStampPad.com

So on Monday, I showed you a fabulous Fall Wreath and today I’m going to show you this fabulous Winter Wreath!

The card above is perfect for Christmas or even just Winter if you changed the greeting! Again, you can use this card for Winter Birthdays, Thank Yous, Thinking of You, and even Christmas cards! I used the Wondrous Wreath Stamp Set & coordinating Wonderful Wreath Framelits which also come in a Bundle and you save 15%!

I started off with a Whisper White card base and then I cut out another piece of Whisper White measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. I used this second piece to stamp my Hardwood image on. You could stamp it right onto your card front but I found this to be easier because if I mess up (it happens) I can just flip over the piece of paper and try again! Thank goodness there are 2 sides to every piece of paper, am I right? The other thing I like about this is that it gives my card some dimension. After stamping the hardwood image, I adhered this piece with some Stampin’ Dimensionals! 🙂 For the Wreath, I used a piece of Whisper White cardstock and I stamped the super leafy image in Wild Wasbi (being sure to note that the tab on the stamp is facing up). Now you will take your partial leafy image and ink it in Garden Green and with the tab facing up stamp it right on top of the leaves. Finally, with the dots image, you will ink it up in Cherry Cobbler and with the tab up, you will stamp it down. Note: With this one, the tab will be facing up, but you will want to center the stamp around the wreath. Once you are done stamping, you will use the coordinating Framelits – Wonderful Wreath Framelits, you will cut out the stamped wreath! You will also want to stamp the Ribbon in Cherry Cobbler on a piece of scrap Whisper White and cut that out with the matching Framelit. No need for any fussy cutting here! Woot Woot! I attached the wreath to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the ribbon to the wreath with regular Snail Adhesive! For the greeting, I stamped the Happy Wonderful Christmas from the Wondrous Wreath Stamp Set and punched it out with my Large Oval Punch and adhered it to my card with more Stampin’ Dimensionals! You can never have enough of those on hand!

In case my instructions above got you all lost and confused, I created a Video Tutorial for you! Be sure to give it a thumbs up if you liked it and don’t forget to subscribe to my blog so you don’t miss out on any of the other samples you saw in the video! 🙂

Technique Tuesday – Joy & Noel!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!!! You know what that means….I have a have technique for you…..or trick/tip for you! So let’s get started on this amazing tip!

Wonderful Framelits, www.LaurasStampPad.com

So the trick I have for today focuses on the JOY in this card! These small little word Framelits can be difficult to pop out of the die because they are so thin and delicate. Of course there are little holes that you can use to poke through to pop it out but sometimes that leaves little dots on your letters. TIP: Lay a piece of wax paper on top of your Silver Foil Sheet and then the Die on top of that. Run it through the Big Shot and when it comes to popping it out – Easy Peasy! 🙂

For the rest of the card…..I started with a Cherry Cobbler card base! I added a 2-1/2″ x 4″ piece of Flower Pot Designer Series Paper on the bottom portion. The top portion of Whisper White measures 3-1/2″ x 4″ and I used my Lucky Stars Embossing Folder to add a little pop and texture! I added some Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding to cover the overlapping of the white and Designer Series Paper. I stamped a few of the flowers from the Wondrous Wreath Stamp Set and used the coordinating Wonderful Wreath Framelits (Bundle & Save) to cut them out. No fussy cut necessary! 🙂 Of course I had to add a few Rhinestones for some bling! Then for the Joy, I used the Silver Foil Sheets (and some wax paper)! Beautiful and Amazing!!!

Of course you can use this trick for all of your little Framelits and not just the Wonderful Wreath ones! Let me know what you think of this trick and if it worked well for you in the comments below!

Also, I can’t do this post with making sure to say Happy Veterans Day! Thank you so much to all of the men and women who fight for our country!

Fall Wondrous Wreath

Fall Wondrous Wreath, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Like many of you, I like to have a wreath on my front door! I love driving up to my place and seeing that beautiful wreath and thinking I live here! I love it! It also helps my fellow stampers find my place! 🙂 The Holiday Mini Catalog has this amazing stamp set called Wondrous Wreath & coordinating Wonderful Wreath Framelits (Bundle) and the samples show this amazing holly wreath! While it is a stunning wreath, there are so many other ways you can use this stamp set just like there are so many different styles of wreaths you can put on your front door!

The card above is perfect for Fall! You can use this card for Fall Birthdays, Thank Yous, Thinking of You, and even Thanksgiving Day cards! I started off with a Soft Suede card base and then I cut out another piece of Soft Suede measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. 🙂 For the Wreath, I used a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and I stamped the super leafy image in Crumb Cake (being sure to note that the tab on the stamp is facing up). Now you will take your partial leafy image and ink it in Soft Suede and with the tab facing up stamp it right on top of the leaves. Finally, with the dots image, you will ink it up in Tangelo Twist and with the tab up, you will stamp it down. Note: With this one, the tab will be facing up, but you will want to center the stamp around the wreath. No worries, if this all sounds crazy to you, I created a Video Tutorial showing you what I mean! 🙂 Once you are done stamping, you will use the coordinating Framelits – Wonderful Wreath Framelits, you will cut out the stamped wreath! No need for any fussy cutting here! Woot Woot! I added a little bow of Linen Thread and attached it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals! For the greeting, I stamped it from the Good Greetings Stamp Set which was a promotional item in October! You can always use a greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes or another favorite set you have!

Here is the Video Tutorial for you! Be sure to give it a thumbs up if you liked it and don’t forget to subscribe to my blog so you don’t miss out on any of the other samples you saw in the video! 🙂

Color Me Autumn!!!!

Posted on

Thoughts & Prayers, www.LaurasStampPad.com

The Designer Series Paper that I used for this card is called Color Me Autumn and it has some great patterns and colors for all types of cards! This Get Well Soon card was created with Soft Suede and Elegant Eggplant. I love how Elegant Eggplant gives a pop of color without being too….poppy. Does that make sense? 🙂 It gives the card color but doesn’t scream look at me – a nice subtle look! I used a Soft Suede card base and added some Color Me Autumn Designer Series Paper. For the greeting, I stamped the greeting from the Thoughts & Prayers Stamp Set in Elegant Eggplant and added a few Soft Suede branches to the top and bottom from that same stamp set. I cut out the greeting with the Labels Collection Framelits and my Big Shot. I used the next Framelit up for the layering Elegant Eggplant piece. I love how the Framelit are so easy to use and give you that perfect layering look!

While Get Well Soon cards are not my favorite to make, they are always good to have on hand to send to someone who needs a little hand-stamped card to brighten their day!

Technique Tuesday – Decorative Masks!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! You know what that means! I have a fabulous technique to share with you today! I am going to show you how to use your Decorative Masks! Also, I’ll show you how your can use your Build a Banner Masks too!!!

Ombre Polka Dot Background, www.LaurasStampPad.com

You know me and my love for the Ombre look (check out more here and here)! I just can’t get enough of it! I used my Build A Banner Polka Dot Mask for this one but you could use the Dots & Stripes Decorative Mask as well! Soft Sky, Marina Mist, and Night of Navy were the colors I sponged on with my Sponge Daubers (love)! I sponged a few rows of each and then when I went to the next darker color, I rubbed lightly over that last row of the lighter color to give it a blended look. The Happy Birthday is from the Remembering Your Birthday Stamp Set! I sponged the edges of the greeting as well and adhered that with Stampin’ Dimensionals to a 1-3/4 Circle Punched piece of Night of Navy! I ran the circle through the Big Shot with the Stripes Embossing Folder! For a little texture, I looped some Whisper White Baker’s Twine in there as well!

Stars Decorative Mask, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This one is very similar to the one above. I used my Sponge Daubers and the Hearts and Stars Decorative Mask Set! I layered that onto some Lost Lagoon and Hello Honey cardstock and added some Satin Stitched Ribbon in Lost Lagoon! I am really loving that ribbon and find myself reaching for it often! For the popped up stars, I used the small and medium stars from the Bright & Beautiful Stamp Set that is in the Holiday Mini Catalog! Of course, there is a Star Framelit so you don’t have to fussy cut those stars out! 🙂 Love it! You could do this in Red, White, & Blue or Navy and Silver would be fabulous too!

Of course, it is always easier, for me at least, to understand a technique when you see it in action. Here is a Video Tutorial for you see both the Ombre Background and Stars Decorative Mask. Be sure to give the video a thumbs up if you liked it and don’t forget to subscribe to My Channel so you never miss out when I post a new video!

Still continuing the Big Shot Fun this week! If you missed Monday and Tuesday, be sure to check them out! Today I’m showing you a quick and simple card using your Big Shot not once but twice!

Perfect Pennants, Banner Framelits, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Tempting Turquoise and Strawberry Slush are just precious together!!! This simple card uses a Whisper White card base (4-1/4″ x 11″)! I embossed a piece of Tempting Turquoise cardstock measuring 3-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ with my Decorative Dots Embossing Folder! That was a piece that was handy in my scraps bags so you could always change up the size of that piece to whatever you have available! 😉 Then grab a piece of Whisper White scrap cardstock and stamp a greeting from the Perfect Pennants Stamp Set. Using a coordinating Banner Framelit, place that on your Big Shot and run it through for a perfect banner! I then used my 1/8″ Circle Handheld Punch to punch a hole for your Thick Baker’s Twine! You can punch 2 holes if you prefer to loop your twine across! Add that to your card with some Stampin’ Dimensionals and you have a fabulous card! The Perfect Pennants Stamp Set has a star and heart stamp in the set as well so I stamped a little heart on the inside just to decorate it up a little! Love it!

Perfect Pennants, Banner Framelits, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This sample is very similar style but I used my Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder and after adding the twine I pulled the ends apart to flare it out a little! You are AWESOME!!!!

Big News Awesome Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This greeting is just fabulous! You could send this card to anyone who is AWESOME, someone who got promoted, someone who achieved a goal or your niece who is starting school TODAY! I’m doing that last one if you hadn’t guessed! Auntie of the Year right here! 🙂 I know you are probably getting tired of seeing Coastal Cabana but I can’t help myself and just I gravitate towards that color. I added a POP of black and white with the Back to Black Designer Series Paper. Then I stamped the greeting from the Big News Stamp Set and used my Big Shot and Deco Label Framelits to cut it out! Don’t ask me where this came from but I brushed the edges using my Sponge Daubers with…..Smoky Slate. Mixing it up folks!!!! Love it!!!!

Big News Awesome Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Here is another one. The Blackberry Bliss card base is kind of hard to see with my black background, sorry about that. Again I used some Back to Black Designer Series Paper and this time I used my Labels Collection Framelits! This is a bit larger than the one above and fits the greeting a little more! I stamped the greeting in Encore Gold Ink which gives it a little shine and bling as well as the Gold Sequins!!!! I attached the Gold Sequins with Mini Glue Dots! For more samples using the Big News Stamp Set, click here and here!

Who would you send a card like this too? Who do you think is AWESOME? Leave the name in the comments below!

Happy Stampin’! Be Awesome!
