On the 12th Day of Stamps-Mas!!!

Posted on

On the 12th Day of Stamps-Mas, my true love gave to me……..A Big Shot, Framelits, and Thinlits!!!! My Big Shot is one tool that I have had for years and would buy another one instantly if something ever happened to it!! Love this tool for die cutting, embossing, and so much more!!!

12thDayofStamps-Mas, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This picture if my little Big Shot Station in my craft room. I have all of my Embossing Folders, Dies and Big Shot all in one place! I love that it is all super handy and easy to use! I have had this Big Shot for about 7 years I think! It’s been forever it seems! It still works amazing and that is what I call a great product!!

Embossing Folders are super easy to use and add texture to your project. I love this look because it adds so much to your project with extra product or embellishments. Just crank your cardstock through the Big Shot and you already have a WOW on your project.

Framelits & Thinlits are the metal dies that cut out images that coordinate with stamp sets so that you don’t have to fussy cut. They create detailed images that you can layer on your cards or build together to create an amazing project! I can’t believe how detailed some of these are. They are fabulous and no one likes to fussy cut! Also, where there is a Stamp Set and coordinating Framelit Set, you can always Bundle & Save 10%! That’s super fabulous because it’s a deal every day, you don’t need to wait for a special!

Big Shot Die Brush is a lifesaver when it comes to the intricate detailed dies. You can place the die and cardstock onto the foam provided and run the brush over the top and it will pop out all of the pieces. You can see all of the details about this on the Video Tutorial here!

What are some of your favorite embossing folders or dies? Let me know in the comments below!!! My favorite Embossing Folder is probably Festive Texture….as of recently. It changes often! 🙂 My favorite dies right now have to be the Layering Circles Framelits!!

Hang Your Stockings!!!

Posted on

hangyourstockings, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Warm and cozy is how I would describe this card!!! These little stockings are just so cute and I love the soft, warm colors. I used the Hang Your Stockings Bundle (Save 10%) for this one and it was super simple!

I started with a Wild Wasabi card base. Then I took a piece of Very Vanilla measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″ and ran it through the Big Shot in the Festive Embossing Folder. You could use any folder you wish but I thought this one was cute. I added this piece to the card front. For the greeting, I took a piece of Very Vanilla (5″ x 3/4″) and stamped the greeting from the Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamp Set in Chocolate Chip Ink. I needed a long and skinny greeting and that one just went with the cozy theme of this card! I layered this piece onto Chocolate Chip cardstock (5″ x 1″) and added it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I like to use dimensionals when adhering things to embossed images because they sink into the grooves and give a smooth look to your card….and I just love them!!! For the stockings, I used the Hang Your Stocking Stamp Set and stamped one in Marina Mist, one in Wild Wasabi, and one in stamped off once Cherry Cobbler. I wanted a more subtle red look so I just stamped off once and then onto my Very Vanilla and got the perfect look. I used the coordinating Christmas Stocking Thinlits (Bundle & Save 10%) to cut out the stockings. I added each of the stockings to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals as well. To finish it off, I added a little Enamel Shape to the corner to look like a little peg holding them up. You can use the hearts, stars, or dots for your cards……or mix and match to use them up!

Ornaments on the Tree!!!

Tree Ornaments, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I love how embossing folders can make a quick and fabulous card! The texture and image just have such a WOW factor and I love that! Besides cranking the Big Shot twice, this card is so simple. Just do all of the Big Shot work while watching your favorite show or a Christmas movie and you will be done in no time at all! Let me know in the comments what your favorite Christmas Movie is! I think mine is either Elf or National Lampoon Christmas Vacation!

For this card I started with a Cherry Cobbler card base. Then I took a piece of Whisper White cardstock (4″ x 5-1/4″) and ran it through the Big Shot with the Pine Bough Embossing Folder (on sale this week!). I stamped the greeting from the Merriest Wishes Stamp Set in the bottom right corner in Cherry Cobbler Ink. You can use any of your favorite greetings! Then I die cut the ornament from the Merry Tags Framelit Set (Bundle & Save 10% with the Merriest Wishes Stamp Set). There are a few other ornaments that you could use on your card as well to mix it up or to die cut more with each crank through the Big Shot. The Big Shot Die Brush is your best friend on popping the cardstock out of the framelit! I love that little tool! I tied some Cherry Cobbler Baker’s Twine around the top of the ornament and added it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. You know how I love those little things!!! Now you are all done! How simple was that?!?!?

Don’t forget to check out the Online Extravaganza going on this week! Lots of fabulous product on sale up to 40%!!!

Warm Wishes & Mistletoe Kisses!!!

Mistletoe Kisses, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I love how embossing folders can create such amazing cards on their own! Add a little greeting and some accents and you are golden! I also love how easy it is to pop a piece of cardstock into a folder and run it through the Big Shot. No lining up, hoping it doesn’t move, and popping it out!

For this card, I started with a Rich Razzleberry card base! Then I took a piece of Whisper White (4″ x 5-1/4″) and ran it through the Big Shot in the Softly Falling Embossing Folder. I added some Silver Satin Ribbon across the cardstock and adhered the ends on the back side. If I recreated this card, I would probably place the ribbon down a bit farther so the greeting wasn’t so high up. You can place it anywhere you would like – middle, top, or bottom! For the greeting, I stamped it from the Tin of Tags Stamp Set in Rich Razzleberry Ink. Then I punched it out with the Decorative Label Punch. I also punched out another one in Silver Foil Paper. I cut the silver label in half and placed half on the top portion of the greeting and the other half on the bottom portion of the greeting. You can see that in action here!

mistletoe-kisses, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I added the greeting to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals for a little more texture and dimension. Love it!!! This card would be perfect any time throughout the holiday season or winter season! Do you send Christmas cards, New Year’s cards, Winter cards or none at all? Let me know in the comments below!!!

Technique Tuesday – Creating a Snowy Scene!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday everyone!!! That means I have a fabulous technique to share with you all!!! DISCLAIMER: I don’t mind stamping/creating a snowy scene but let’s not make it happen in real life for a few months….or never would be fine! 🙂

Evergreen Trees in Snow, www.LaurasStampPad.comI just love this card for the simple trees, the textured background, and the pop of glittery snow!!!! This card is perfect for Christmas but also for any winter occasion as well. Also, I would say it is fairly simple although it does need some drying time for the glitter! Let’s get started!!!

I started with a Pool Party card base and then took a piece of Whisper White (4″ x 5-1/4″) and ran it through the Big Shot in the Softly Falling Embossing Folder. There are technically 2 ways you could do this card – concentration of dots on the top or on the bottom. I did mine with the majority of the dots at the top but I also put the cardstock in the folder closest to the fewer dots end. I wanted that gradual look a lot more but you could do it any way you wish!!! I added this piece to the card base! For the trees, I stamped them from the Santa’s Sleigh Stamp Set in Garden Green and Wild Wasabi onto the same cardstock color. Then I used the coordinating Santa’s Sleigh Thinlits (Bundle & Save 10%) to die cut them out! I added the wasabi tree to the card with Snail Adhesive and I added the garden green one with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Before you place your trees down, we need to make the snow. Take a piece of scrap white cardstock and rip it across the top. You can rip it all bumpy or angled down or just straight across. That is all up to you or just how the paper rips! 🙂 Place this piece onto your card front so you know where to place the wasabi tree. Then stamp the greeting from the Santa’s Sleigh Stamp Set in Garden Green Ink and adhere it to the bottom of your white embossed piece. Now you can place the Garden Green tree on top. I like using the dimensionals to over course give dimension but to also make it look like one tree is set back and the other one is closer. To finish it off and add a little bling, I used Silver Dazzling Details along the top of the ripped cardstock (snow hill) and a few random dots of the embossing. I thought it added a little shine and made the snow look more…..real? Come on your all know how snow can look glittery, right??? I love it!!!

If you would like to see this all in action, check out my Video Tutorial below or click here! Be sure to give it a thumbs up if you liked it and don’t forget to subscribe if you are new! I posted videos every Tuesday and Thursday and sometimes here and there in between! Technique Tuesday – Embossing Foil Paper!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! You all know what that means! I have a fabulous technique to share with you today and it is super simple but has a major WOW factor! Check out this beauty – pink perfection, yummy cupcake, silver bling, and silver texture foil!!!
Wish You Happiness, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I just love this card. It makes me so happy and I just want to frame it so I can smile every time I pass by it!!! There is so much pink and bling and texture!!!

SUPPLIES NEEDED: Embossing Folder of Choice, Big Shot, Foil Paper of Choice

I took a piece of Silver Foil Paper and placed it into the Elegant Dots Embossing Folder. Be sure that the foil is faced up correctly on how you want your image. If you want it embossed the raised side should be behind the foil, if you want it debossed the raised side should be on the foil side! Run it through the Big Shot and check out the beautiful paper you just created! It is that simple. Isn’t that fabulous???

Glitter Cupcake, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card starts with a Melon Mambo card base and I layered on a piece of Whisper White cardstock (4″ x 5-1/4″). Then I took a piece of the Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper (3-3/4″ x 5″) and adhered it to the card front. I just wanted to layer on all the pink I could! 🙂 I placed the embossed Silver Foil to the bottom 1/3  of the card. Taking a piece of Whisper White, I stamped the greeting from the Sweet Cupcakes Stamp Set in Melon Mambo and added the banner tips with the Triple Banner Punch! I added this to the right side of the card flush with the edge on top of the foil. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the greeting because the foam goes into the bumps of the embossed image and holds very well. With some scrap white paper, I stamped the cupcake liner in Tip Top Taupe. First image was stamped off twice, second image was stamped off once, and the third image is full strength Tip Top Taupe. The icing was stamped in Melon Mambo the same way. Check out this video for more on how to stamp the cupcake! I die cut the cupcake liner and icing with the coordinating Cupcake Cutouts Framelits (Bundle & Save 10%). I added the cupcake to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals again to hold tight on the bumps of the embossed foil. I wanted a little more bling on this card so I added some Silver Sparkle Dazzling Details to the cupcake icing and little dots on the greeting banner!

Tuesday is also video day on my YouTube Channel – Laura’s Stamp Pad. Today I posted a sneak peak of one of the kits in the Holiday Mini Catalog that begins on September 1st! Click here to check that out!

Sponge Brayer Over Everything!!!

Posted on

Emboss Coloring, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Once you start playing with your Sponge Brayer, you won’t be able to put it down!!! You can see more ways I used a Sponge Brayer here and here!!! It’s just so much fun and super easy! The Sponge Brayer comes with 2 handles and 4 sponges. You can rinse out the sponges when you are done and allow them to dry and use another color. How fabulous is that?

In these samples, I simply used the Sponge Brayer to add color to the cardstock that was ran through the Big Shot in an Embossing Folder. Simple, fun and such different looks with every folder you use!!

Lovely Lace, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For this card, I took a piece of Whisper White (4″ x 5-1/4″) and ran it through the Big Shot in the Lovely Lace Embossing Folder. Then I took a Sponge Brayer and Flirty Flamingo Ink and rolled over the cardstock over and over until the I got the color I liked it. You don’t want to press super hard, but just a light roll back and forth! I added this to a Pool Party card base and tied some Pool Party Satin Stitched Ribbon around it. For the greeting, I used the Rose Wonder Stamp Set and die cut it with the coordinating Rose Garden Framelit. I added the greeting to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals!

Elegant Dots, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For this card, I took a piece of Whisper White (4″ x 5-1/4″) and ran it through the Big Shot in the Elegant Dots Embossing Folder. Then I took a Sponge Brayer and Night of Navy Ink and rolled over the cardstock. Be sure to roll in both directions – side to side & up and down! I added this to a Melon Mambo card base and tied some Melon Mambo Stitched Ribbon around it. The ribbon is criss-crossed on the inside of the card. For the greeting, I used the Rose Wonder Stamp Set again and die cut it with the coordinating Rose Garden Framelit. I added the greeting to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals because I find that they work best on a bumpy surface like this one!!!

lucky stars, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For this card, I actually ran the Sponge Brayer over the de-bossed side…..the side where the stars pop down and not up! I love this rustic/cowboy look that came out of it. I layered it onto Cherry Cobbler (4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″) and then onto a Crumb Cake card base. For the greeting, I used the Tin of Cards Stamp Set and Decorative Label Punch to cut it out. I added a few pieces of the New Burlap Ribbon on the back of the greeting! I love how this card turned out!!!

To see this in action, check out the Video Tutorial below or click here. Don’t forget to give it a thumbs up if you liked it and be sure to subscribe if you are new!!! Let me know in the comments below which card is your favorite!!! I love the stars but I also love the Elegant Dots because of the color combination.

Floral Affection!!!

Posted on

Floral Affection, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I have been having lots of fun with the Affectionately Yours Suite! The papers are beautiful, the stamp set greetings are perfect for generic cards, and the embossing folders are detailed! This card is fairly simple but has lots of details and texture to still give it that WOW look!!!

I started with a Mint Macaron card base and layered on a piece of the Affectionately Yours Designer Series Paper (4″ x 5-1/4″). I tied some of the Mint Macaron Sheer Linen Ribbon around the top of the card and into a knot. Then I took a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock (4″ x 2-1/2″) and ran it through the Big Shot in the Floral Affection Embossing Folder. These little folders are perfect for a great accent piece on your project! I added this piece to the card front. Then for the greeting, I used a scrap piece of Whisper White and stamped the greeting from the Love & Affection Stamp Set. I punched the banner tips on either end of the greeting with the Triple Banner Punch and attached it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. To finish off the card, I added some Dapper Denim Enamel Dots to either side of the greeting! I love all of the textures and the colors!!!

You all know how much I love my flowers. You can check all the flower creations I have made by clicking here. Let me know your favorite stamp image – textures? backgrounds? greetings? flowers? in the comments below!!!

Butterfly Cut Out!!!

Posted on

Butterfly Cut Out, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I am loving this butterfly cut out look! It’s so elegant and amazing! That bling just makes it so much more fabulous as well! 🙂

I started with a Blackberry Bliss card base measuring 4-1/4″ x 11″! Then I took a piece of Whisper White (4″ x 5-1/4″) and die cut out the butterfly using the Butterflies Thinlits. I did my diagonal because butterflies are always on the move and I knew I wouldn’t get it perfectly centered! TIP: Save the white butterfly that you die cut out for another project that I’ll be posting on Tuesday! Now you will run the piece of cardstock with the die cut butterfly through the Big Shot in the Fluttering Embossing Folder. Now you have your base. You will want to adhere your piece of cardstock to the back of this piece covering the Butterfly hole. I used Hello Honey (2-1/2″ x 3-1/2″) but you can pick any color or let the Blackberry Bliss shine through and then do a Hello Honey butterfly. It is all up to you! Once you have your colored cardstock on the back, you can adhere it to your card base! Then I die cut a Blackberry Bliss butterfly with the Butterflies Thinlit and placed it right in the butterfly spot on the card. I only placed Mini Glue Dots down the center of the butterfly so the wings could pop up! Then I added a string of Rhinestones but I did Pearls on another one and that looked fabulous too! For the greeting, I took a piece of Hello Honey measuring 4″ x 1-3/4″ and stamped the greeting from the Crazy About You Stamp Set in Blackberry Bliss! Then I added it to my card front and tied some Whisper White Satin Stitched Ribbon around the card front between the greetings. When I was creating this card, I thought it was just stunning and then I added the greeting and I wasn’t as impressed. I didn’t really know what it was. At the stamp class where everyone made this card, they all loved it but mixed up the greetings. Some said “You Amaze Me. Happy Graduation.” and others said “Happy Birthday. You Amaze Me.” I loved how it turned out. I think I just don’t like the same greeting twice like I did on my card. Either way, I think it is stunning and you could do orange and yellow or black and orange or just about any color combination you wish! Love it!

I want to ride my Bicycle!!!

Posted on

Bicycle, www.laurasstamppad.com

Every time I get out my bike, I sing the song, “I want to ride my Bicycle” by Queen! Anyone else??? No, just me? Every since I was a kid, summer and riding bikes just go hand in hand! This cute little card just screams summer to me!!!

I started with a Melon Mambo card base and added a piece of the It’ My Party Designer Series Paper measuring 4″ x 3″ (that’s 12 pieces in 1 sheet). Then I took a piece of Mint Macaron cardstock measuring 5-1/2″ x 1-3/4″ and punched the banner tips with the Banner Triple Punch. I ran it through the Big Shot in the Zig Zag Embossing Folder! I added the banner to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals, of course! 🙂 For the focal point, I stamped the bicycle from the Sheltering Tree Stamp Set in Melon Mambo onto Whisper White scrap paper. Then I punched it out with the Extra-Large Oval Punch before stamping the flowers. I wanted to see where the bottom was and how much room I had before stamping the flowers. I stamped the stems in Mint Macaron and the flowers in Crushed Curry! I added the oval to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals as well! The greeting was stamped in Tip Top Taupe and it is also from the Sheltering Tree Stamp Set! Perfect card to send to a friend just because! I love it! I finished off the card with a few It’s My Party Enamel Dots!

Do you like to create simple cards with greetings like this or do you mostly stamp occasion cards like Birthday, Wedding, Sympathy, etc.? Let me know in the comments below!
