Big Shot Promotion – Top Note Treat Topper!

Posted on

Happy Big Shot Fun Week! If you missed out on the rest of this week, click the day to see Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday! Today I am showing you ways to use your Top Note Die for an adorable treat topper!

Top Note Tag Topper, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This little treat bag is adorable! At first I added in the piece of Pool Party cardstock in the bag just so you could see the clear bag better but I kept it in there because it gives a great background to the treats! 🙂 I used the Top Note Die for the tag topper and just folded it in half! If you are using a smaller bag, you can always fold it the other way! The Top Note was done in Pear Pizzazz and then I stamped the greeting from Million & One in Basic Gray! Fabulous! I then punched out 2 butterflies – Elegant Butterfly Punch with Pool Party and Bitty Butterfly Punch with Pear Pizzazz. Layer your butterflies and attach to the treat topper with a Stampin’ Dimensional and then add a few Rhinestones for some bling! These treats would be perfect for teachers (Happy Back to School), neighbors, party favors, etc! To see this project in action, check out the Video Tutorial below! Don’t forget to give me a thumbs up if you like it and want to see more videos like this!

Big Shot Promotion – Quick and Simple Card!

Posted on

Still continuing the Big Shot Fun this week! If you missed Monday and Tuesday, be sure to check them out! Today I’m showing you a quick and simple card using your Big Shot not once but twice!

Perfect Pennants, Banner Framelits, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Tempting Turquoise and Strawberry Slush are just precious together!!! This simple card uses a Whisper White card base (4-1/4″ x 11″)! I embossed a piece of Tempting Turquoise cardstock measuring 3-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ with my Decorative Dots Embossing Folder! That was a piece that was handy in my scraps bags so you could always change up the size of that piece to whatever you have available! 😉 Then grab a piece of Whisper White scrap cardstock and stamp a greeting from the Perfect Pennants Stamp Set. Using a coordinating Banner Framelit, place that on your Big Shot and run it through for a perfect banner! I then used my 1/8″ Circle Handheld Punch to punch a hole for your Thick Baker’s Twine! You can punch 2 holes if you prefer to loop your twine across! Add that to your card with some Stampin’ Dimensionals and you have a fabulous card! The Perfect Pennants Stamp Set has a star and heart stamp in the set as well so I stamped a little heart on the inside just to decorate it up a little! Love it!

Perfect Pennants, Banner Framelits, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This sample is very similar style but I used my Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder and after adding the twine I pulled the ends apart to flare it out a little! To see this card in action using your Big Shot, check out the Video Tutorial below! If you like the video be sure to give it a thumbs up and don’t forget to subscribe to my channel so you don’t miss the rest of my Big Shot Videos this week!

Technique Tuesday – Big Shot Promotion!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday and Happy Big Shot Week here on my blog! Click here to see yesterday’s post! Today I’m going to show you an amazing technique with your Big Shot and Embossing Folders! Don’t forget about the amazing Big Shot Promotion Stampin’ Up! has going on this month! Today we are going to talk about using your Embossing Folders with your Big Shot! I love embossing my projects because I really think it takes a simple card to a WOW card with just the crank of the Big Shot!

Decorative Dots Work of Art, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Okay first off check out this amazing card! LOVE IT! It is soooo simple too! I just used a 4-1/4″ x 11″ piece of Whisper White Cardstock and stamped the amazing flower with my Work of Art Stamp Set! I used Blackberry Bliss & Mossy Meadow Ink (for the various shades of purple I stamped a few times before going back to the ink pad)! Then I placed the card front into the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder and ran it through my Big Shot! How amazing?!?! I love it! No adhesive required! 🙂

Lucky Stars Inked Folder, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Now this one was done a little differently! I used the NEW Lucky Stars Embossing Folder which is coming out in the Holiday Mini Catalog on August 28th! I opened up the embossing folder and on the side where the stars pop up I lightly tapped my ink pad over top! You don’t want to press too hard or the ink will go down into the flat area of the embossing folder. Now you will place your piece of cardstock into the non-inked side and close the folder. You can either close the folder and just press and viola you are done or you can close it and run it through the Big Shot for a colored and textured look! I then assembled this piece onto Daffodil Delight Cardstock and Night of Navy card base! I used my Night of Navy Marker to color the Whisper White Organza Ribbon to match! Check out this post for more on that! The greeting is from the Petite Pairs Stamp Set which I punched out with my Decorative Label Punch and added a few punched stars from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack! Check out the video tutorial below to see this in action!!! Don’t forget to give it a thumbs up if you like this video and want to see more! Check out this amazing background you can create with the Daydream Medallion Stamp Set using the same color scheme –  Lost Lagoon, Hello Honey, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla! Big News Awesome Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This greeting is just fabulous! You could send this card to anyone who is AWESOME, someone who got promoted, someone who achieved a goal or your niece who is starting school TODAY! I’m doing that last one if you hadn’t guessed! Auntie of the Year right here! 🙂 I know you are probably getting tired of seeing Coastal Cabana but I can’t help myself and just I gravitate towards that color. I added a POP of black and white with the Back to Black Designer Series Paper. Then I stamped the greeting from the Big News Stamp Set and used my Big Shot and Deco Label Framelits to cut it out! Don’t ask me where this came from but I brushed the edges using my Sponge Daubers with…..Smoky Slate. Mixing it up folks!!!! Love it!!!!

Big News Awesome Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Here is another one. The Blackberry Bliss card base is kind of hard to see with my black background, sorry about that. Again I used some Back to Black Designer Series Paper and this time I used my Labels Collection Framelits! This is a bit larger than the one above and fits the greeting a little more! I stamped the greeting in Encore Gold Ink which gives it a little shine and bling as well as the Gold Sequins!!!! I attached the Gold Sequins with Mini Glue Dots! For more samples using the Big News Stamp Set, click here and here!

Who would you send a card like this too? Who do you think is AWESOME? Leave the name in the comments below!

Happy Stampin’! Be Awesome!

Technique Tuesday – Spiral Pop Out Card!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!!! You know what that means….I have a fabulous technique to share with you! I created this one awhile back and have just kept it in my back pocket but NOW it’s time to share!!!! Who doesn’t like a card that POPS out???

Spiral Flower Pop Out Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Okay I know this card doesn’t seem super WOW or POPPIN’ OUT but just wait…….

Pop Out Cards, www.LaurasStampPad.com

How fabulous is that inside of the card? LOVE IT!!!! I used the Spiral Flower Die to create this adorable Pop Out piece.

SUPPLIES NEEDED: Spiral Flower Die, Cardstock, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots, and Decoration

You will start with a piece of cardstock measuring 4″ x 4-1/4″. Place that in the center of the Spiral Flower Die and run it through the Big Shot. The actual Spiral Flower piece can be tossed aside for another project because all you will need for this one is the reverse image/left over piece. Now take 4 Dimensionals and place them on the corners and place this down onto the inside of your card. Now you will need to create your decoration. In the cards above I used the Itty Bitty Punch Pack for the flowers and stars. I placed a Mini Glue Dot on the star and then slide it underneath the center tip of the spiral. The glue dot should be facing up. Now you will close your card and press in the middle so that that Mini Glue Dot sticks to the top/lid of the card. This makes the placement of the spiral perfect every time. If you tried to measure or guess where to glue it, it could be off a little and then it wouldn’t close properly or lay flat. Now you can decorate the rest of your spiral! In the 2 pictured above, I took my marker and added a little decoration around the edge just to make it POP some more. The greetings for the outside and inside are from the Age Awareness Stamp Set!!!

And because sometimes it is just easier to see how it is done, I have created a Video Tutorial for you here!!! Be sure to “LIKE” the Video and “SUBSCRIBE” to my Channel so you don’t miss out on my water color tricks which are coming soon!

Spiral Flower Fun!!!!

Spiral Flower Die, www.LaurasStampPad.com

How amazing is this treat bag? Don’t you just wish your mail came in something this cute every day? Or your dinner came all packaged up like this every day? That would just be fabulous! Okay back to reality….let’s make this treat bag and give it to someone that means the world to us and let them enjoy the fabulous treat!!!!

I used the Spiral Flower Die to make these amazing flowers! I used Raspberry Ripple for the solid one. I used Raspberry Ripple and Very Vanilla for the bi-colored one and I used Primrose Petal Core’Dinations (retiring) cardstock for the one on the right!

Now I am going to share some tips and tricks that I learned along the way:

Spiral Flower

  • You can cut 2-3 layers of cardstock at a time when running this through your Big Shot.
  • Run the die-cut image over your bone folder to break down the fibers of the cardstock. This will make it start to curl as well.
  • The middle of the flower is the smallest little scallop, not the bigger end. (That was a surprise to me, I totally thought start big and work your way down.
  • Fold the first (smallest) scallop back and then start rolling forward. This will create a nice flower center. You can see it in the Vanilla and Raspberry flowers below if you look closely in the middle.
  • Your hot glue gun and Silicone Mat will be your best friend for these!
  • When making a flower with 2 colors, just lay the 2 pieces together and start rolling! You can even do 2 of the same colors and roll them together for a nice full flower!
  • After you have rolled it all nice and tight, throw it in the air and let it bounce around a little to loosen up if you want a fuller, more open flower!
  • Add your hot glue glob to the last circle/scallop and press your flower rolls into that glob and hold for 10 seconds. You can then add some hot glue to the 2nd scallop to adhere it to the side of your flower if you want a tight look.
  • Once you are finished and it is dried/cooled, take a clear block and press it on the top of your flower (too much pressing can result in a ripped/smoothed flower). This will flatten the petals out a little and make your flower look more open. You can also use your bone folder to fold the petals out a little too!

I hope these tips helped you create fabulous Spiral Flowers! If you have any questions or have some tips to share, leave a comment down below. I would love to hear from you!!! Also, don’t throw away the negative of your spiral flower. I will show you how to use that in an upcoming Technique Tuesday!!! 😉

Happy Stampin’ & Happy Memorial Day!

Technique Tuesday – Interlocking Card

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! That means I have a fabulous technique for you and this one that will for sure make you say, “WOW”!

Interlocking Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Supplies Needed: Daydream Medallion Stamp Set, Floral Frames Framelits, and cardstock

Of course you can substitute the stamp set and Framelits to any set you have on hand or your favorite! This pair is my current love. Every time I need a card, I am just drawn to this set! Check out some more samples here, here, and here! Your card base for this one is 8-1/2″ x 4-1/2″ and you will score at 2-1/8″ and 6-3/8″. Fold on those score lines and you will have your gate-fold card base. Then you need to stamp and cut out each of the layers in any color combination you wish to use! I used Summer Starfruit, Raspberry Ripple, and Primrose Petal! Now it is time to assemble them all together. So I stamped the largest image in Summer Starfruit onto my card front, then I added the stamped and die-cut next largest down by adhering it only on the left side of the gate. Then with the last two flowers, I layered them on top of each other with some Stampin’ Dimensionals (love), laid the card closed, added adhesive to the right side and put the piece down just like a puzzle piece.

Interlocking Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

You can see the pieces better here in this photo with the card opened up! On the inside of this card I stamped the smallest of the flowers in this stamp set and my Thank You greeting! This card really has a WOW factor to it and it is fairly simple to create! You could use any of the layering Framelits with this technique! I hope you try this out. Send me pictures of your card when you try this technique! I would love to see them!

Happy Stampin’
