Brad’s Nintendo Birthday Card!!!

Posted on

Happy Monday!!! Yesterday was Brad’s Birthday and so today I’m sharing his Nintendo Birthday Card!!!

Brad's Nintendo Birthday Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I think it turned out really cute and Brad loved it. It’s not exactly like a controller due to some things I couldn’t really recreate but it’s pretty close. I had to write the A & B and Nintendo on the gray because it wouldn’t show up on the black. Also, I wasn’t able to put the gray area down the center because spacing was difficult. Trying to scale things correctly is probably my hardest part of making these cards! You can check out some of my past creations here, here, and here!

I started with a piece of Whisper White for my card base and made it s 5″ x 7″ card! I knew I needed a larger card for this concept or those little pieces would be even smaller. 🙂 Next, I took a piece of Real Red (4-3/4″ x 6-3/4″) and layered it on top! For the controllers, I used Smoky Slate as the base and Black Baker’s Twine as the cord! For all of the decorations, I hand cut them out except the red circles and hearts which were punched out with the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch. I really wish I could have punched more out but the pieces were so oddly shaped. Thank goodness for my Stampin’ Trimmer to get those small pieces though! The greeting was stamped from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous Stamp Set.

Brad's Birthday 2017, www.LaurasStampPad.com

He loved it and that’s all that matters!!! I don’t always make custom cards but when I do it is fun and makes it even more special! Do you like to make custom cards for family and friends?? Let me know in the comments below!!

We Have Big News!!!

Posted on

I’m so excited to share that we have big news!!!! 🙂 Check out the Video below!!!

That’s right!!! We have another little stamper coming May 2018!!!! My husband and I are very excited to share this news with all of you and what better way to do that than with a card!!! I made these cards as the announcement for all of our Aunts and Uncles and family. Of course, we told our immediate family in person. We were able to see everyone over the Thanksgiving Holiday so that’s when we shared our news. It was so fun and exciting!

We Have Big News, www.LaurasStampPad.com

A little bit about me and baby Ziggy! That is the name that Brad gave the baby as soon as we found out and it has really stuck! We are both doing amazing! Thank goodness for working from home and being your own boss because that means daily naps! 🙂 I haven’t been a fan of the foods I was eating all the time. So now it’s time to mix it up and try new things or eat those things, I don’t normally have but love! We have see our little one on a sonogram and heard the heartbeat twice now! It’s the most precious thing ever! At our last appointment, little Ziggy had hiccups or was kicking because we could hear the heartbeat and then a thud. I’m still not feeling any movement yet but can’t wait to do so! We will find out the gender at Christmas time!

What does this mean about stamping and my blog?? At this time there we be no change! I am hoping to continue to blog 5 days a week as I have been. I plan to schedule posts in May! I will say there may be a day or so that a post might not happen and I apologize in advance but will do my best to make it seamless! The same goes with the 2 weekly videos on my YouTube Channel! I will probably take a little time off on local classes and events but plan on getting back into it when I’m ready! I’m so excited to share this all with you and hope you are as well!

Thank you for all of your love and support with me and my Stampin’ Up! business! I look forward to continuing to help you with your stamping needs and providing inspiration and creativity!

Happy Stampin’

Stamping With Those I Love!!!

Posted on

I love to stamp and I really love stamping with those I love too! Every year, I get together with my Mom to create her Christmas cards! I love stamping and chatting and creating together!!!

Stamping with Those I love, www.LaurasStampPad.com

On Sunday afternoon, I took all the supplies to my parents house to make 75 Christmas Cards!!! My Mom picked 2 different samples – this one and a variation of this one! Of course, I had my husband join in the fun! Together, we had a wonderful afternoon of stamping, working together, chatting, and of course laughing!! We had a nice assembly line going on and quickly finished the stamped Bethlehem card. Then we got started on the deer in a sweater card but didn’t have enough time to finish. I also didn’t have enough ribbon for all of them!

Family Christmas Card Creation, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Since, we needed to finish up the cards, I brought the goodies back on Thanksgiving! I got to stamp with my Sister and Nieces. I was tying the ribbons. The little girls were taking all the backs of the Stampin’ Dimensionals off and my sister was adding it to the card front and trimming the ribbon. Working like a team really make it go quickly. I just love sharing my love of stamping with those that I love!

Do you love stamping with friends and family or do you prefer to stamp alone? Let me know in the comments below! Most days I’m stamping alone and enjoy listening to music or having a movie going on in the background. I enjoy those days for sure but I really love stamping with others. That is probably because I love talking so much!!! 🙂

Tomorrow is the last day to earn the Basket of Wishes Stamp Set for FREE with a $75.00 order! In December, I’ll have a new stamp set picked out….stay tuned! If you have a favorite you would like it to be, let me know in the comments below!

Friday Fun!!!

Posted on

Happy Friday!!! We all have gotten through our first week of falling back for Daylight Savings. The worst part for me is how early it gets dark. How many more days till Spring Forward?!?! Today, I have some Friday Fun for all you!

Friday Fun, www.LaurasStampPad.com

As I was grocery shopping this week, I realized there are a few items in my Stamp Room that make seem a little odd. Here are a few of mine: Baby Wipes, Rubbing Alcohol, and Post It Notes (or Post It Note Tape).

I use all of these items almost daily in my stamp room. The Baby Wipes I use for excess ink on a clear block and cleaning up messes. 🙂 There are also a few techniques that use them too like this one and this one! The Rubbing Alcohol is used for cleaning scissors and clear blocks. It gets the sticky and ink off so easily! Cleaning with 70+ proof makes it super easy but using less than 70 proof is fun for using on projects like spritzing. Check out a sample here!  Now for the Post It Note Tape, I use that to hold my framelits in place so they don’t move as I crank it through the Big Shot. What are some items you have in your craft room that you pick up at the grocery/big box store?? I would love to hear from you in the comments below!

Don’t forget that the November Free Stamp Set for orders of $75.00 or more is Basket of Wishes!!! Any order of $75 or more placed within the month of November will receive this stamp set from me. It won’t come with your order but arrive separately. Click here to start shopping!

Make sure Santa brings you exactly what you want!!! Fill out MY CHRISTMAS WISH LIST and pass it around to friends and family!! There is also a bonus in there for you as well. Earn $5 for every order of goodies placed by a family or friend of yours. Woot Woot!!! If your wish list is SUPER long or time is a big factor, I also offer Gift Certificates for you to spend with me on anything you wish. Just let your friends and family know they can contact me!!!

I’m off to Paris (Illinois) to stamp with a fabulous group this evening. Then, I have my Holiday Card Class at the local Library here on Saturday. It’s a weekend full of stamping and fun! I am sooo excited. Thankful for all of you who make my life so fun and fabulous!!! I hope you all have a fabulous weekend! See you back here on Monday!

My Paper Scrap Storage Tips!!!

Posted on

Today, I’m sharing with you my Paper Scrap Storage Tips! A few of you have asked me about this and how to use up scraps so I hope you will find this useful or inspirational to store and use up your scraps! I do have to say this has changed for me over the years many times before I got to this point. I have found this to be the best….although isn’t that how we always feel till the next idea comes along! 🙂

Paper Scraps Storage Tips, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Okay so this is my cardstock paper storage. I got these from Stampin’ Storage and I love them! They are super sturdy and each color is in an individual spot. Click here to check them out and get 10% off! In the past, I had all the colors from one family lumped together and it was much harder to see and I would run out of a color and not know it because the stack still looked big. This way I can see it all so much easier!

Cardstock Scraps, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Then in each slot above the full sheets of cardstock, I have a cellophane bag with all of the scraps for that color. I love having it right there with the full sheets because it makes me use that up first. Also, it’s super easy to grab that and just pull the whole bag out to see what options I have! Before I had the scraps in bags but off to the side in a box and there were many times I didn’t even look there first. Having it front and center really helps!

Specialty Paper Storage, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Next up is my specialty paper storage. These are just 12″ x 12″ plastic drawers. I love having each category in it’s own drawer because it’s so much easier to find. I also don’t have to rifle through all of it to find a piece so there is less beat up corner or glitter everywhere. Also, if you can’t tell……I love my label maker! 🙂

Glimmer & Foil Scraps, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Again, I have a baggie of scraps at the top of each drawer with the little pieces from each category. I think it works fabulous for the foil and glimmer papers. As for the designer paper…….I’m just not the best at using up scraps, not going to lie. I do have lots of great ideas for scraps like this card style!!!

If you have any storage or organization tips, let me know in the comments below. I would love to hear them!!

Family Time at the Lake!!!

Posted on

We have been home from our annual family time at the lake for a week now. I think I’m finally getting back into the swing of things!!! Here is a little sneak peak of the wonderful time we had!!!

Family Time At The Lake, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This year my entire immediate family was all able to attend! I’m still surprised we got a great group photo with everyone basically looking at the camera! That’s  a win for sure! The weather was amazing and on the cool side. I still got a little sun on my legs one more really early while on the Paddle Board. By the way, if you ever get a chance to play with one of those, I highly recommend it. It is super easy and lots of fun to paddle around on. We (adults and kids) had lots of fun on it!

Lake Vacation, www.LaurasStampPad.com

The sunrises and sunsets are just stunning at the Lake! It is so calming and amazing! I love it! Lots of selfies took place throughout the week since I’m the only one who is snapping photos all of the time! I spent one afternoon on the dock reading. It was amazing and peaceful especially when it started to rain lightly! My fabulous husband went to an ice cream shop and he knows me so well. I could care less about ice cream but a waffle cone is totally my jam! YUM!

We had a wonderful time relaxing and making memories! Now I’m home and excited to get started on Holiday Cards. The Holiday Mini Catalog is coming out on September 1st and I’ve received my Pre-Order already!!! If you would like to check out all the fabulous goodies, check out the video below or click here! Be sure to give it a thumbs up if you liked it and let me know in the comments which item you are most excited about!!!
