Have A Holly Christmas!!!

Posted on

Simple and fabulous is exactly how I would describe this holly Christmas card! I love the beautiful font and that hint of elegance with the gold leaves and red jewels!!

Holly Christmas Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card uses a 4″ x 4″ piece of Sweet Stockings Designer Series Paper which means you can get 9 pieces from one sheet of 12″ x 12″. Woot Woot! I layered that onto Basic White (4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″) and then added some Real Red Satin Ribbon around the top for a smooth look between where the designer paper ends! The greeting was stamped from the Heartfelt Wishes Stamp Set in Evening Evergreen Ink! Then I added this to the Old Olive card base!

For the holly berries, I used Real Red Rhinestone Jewels and the Gold Holly Leaves! The leaves were attached with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals but you could also put them on flat with a liquid glue or Tear N Tape!

Stained Glass Perfection!!!

Posted on

Have you tried out the Stained Glass technique recently?!?! It is super fun and fairly easy. Although it is one of those techniques that no 2 will come out the same….that’s always hard for me!

Stained Glass Technique, www.LaurasStampPad.com

To do the stained glass technique, you will need vellum, Stampin’ Blends, and Rubbing Alcohol (the higher the number the better). I found that the darker colors of Stampin’ Blends worked better. When I used light Pool Party, it was barely visible. Color random splotches all over the vellum. This can be messy and all over but be sure to cover the entire piece of vellum. I used Night of Navy, Misty Moonlight, and Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends! Now for adding the alcohol there can be various ways to do so! Using a Water Painter, Paint Brush, Wink of Stella or simply just dripping it.

For mine, I started by lightly dabbing around the edge of each color with the Water Painter (filled with 91% alcohol). Starting with the darkest color and finishing that one before moving to the next lighter color. Once I finished that, I dripped a few times with the alcohol as well as Wink of Stella! I love the random glitter spots! It’s just perfect! Also, remember that part of the look will be covered up with the Angel so it’s okay if there is a weird spot or it just doesn’t look right. It’s all good!!

For the focal point, I used the Angels of Peace Stamp Set and Night of Navy Ink! The cardstock colors used were Night of Navy and Balmy Blue! The greeting is popped up with the Timeless Label Punch!

Angels of Peace Stampin' Up Stamp Set, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I hope you try out this Stained Glass Technique because it is super fun! Check out this video if you want more of a visual on how it works! It would be great for a water theme with fishes or mermaids or even a snowy look! Fall colors and using it with leaves and trees would be fabulous too! So many possibilities! Check out the supplies listed below for what I used!

Double Mountain Card!!!

Posted on

Is your to-do list growing as the holidays get closer?!? I have the last of my Christmas Cards to complete and send out this week and my decorating is done! Christmas cookies were made this past weekend so gifts is all I have left! I’m feeling good and hoping to just enjoy the season as much as possible! This fun Double Mountain Card may look a bit stressful but I assure you it’s pretty easy!

Double Mountain Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

If you look at it from the side, this card is simply 2 card bases stuck together. There is a regular Early Espresso card base (4-1/4″ x 11″) and then a slightly smaller Real Red (4″ x 10-3/4″) card base adhered upside down to the Early Espresso base. See that’s not so overwhelming!

Frosted Gingerbread Suite, www.LaurasStampPad.com

After I got my 2 card bases prepped, I adhered the Real Red card base upside down and all the way to the bottom of the front of the Early Espresso card base. The folded edge of the Real Red cardstock should be flush with the bottom of the Early Espresso card front. Next, I folded the Real Red in half back down to create a small mountain of Real Red and a tall mountain of Early Espresso/Real Red. Then I adhered the Frosted Gingerbread Designer Paper to the layer of Real Red on Early Espresso and tied some Real Red Ruffle Ribbon around the card front.

Next, I stamped the greeting from the Frosted Gingerbread Stamp Set on the small Basic White piece (3 ¾” x 2 ½”) and stamped the lace trim image on the inside Basic White piece (4” x 5 ¼”). Then adhered both to the card. For the focal point, you can die cut or fussy cut an image of your choice from the Designer Paper and adhere to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Decorate with Acrylic Shapes to finish it off!

If you would like to recreate this Double Mountain Card, check out the supplies listed below! This would be super cute for a birthday card too! Just switch up the designer paper and greetings!

A Grateful Heart!!

Posted on

Thanksgiving is a day to be thankful but I have a grateful heart every day! There are so many blessings in my life that I can’t even count them all. I find that on hard days it is best to think of as many as I can! One of them is Stampin’ Up and all of YOU!!! You mean so much to me and have allowed me to enjoy my job so much and stay home with my 2 little blessings too!

Grateful Heart Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

On this crazy busy holiday week, I thought I would share a quick and simple card that you could whip up in 3 minutes or less!!! Time it!

I used a Blackberry Bliss card base. Next, I cut a piece of the Blackberry Beauty Designer Series Paper into a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece and added it to the card front. Then for the greeting, I used the Double Oval Punch! I love that it’s a 2 in 1 punch for the perfect layered greeting! The scallop was punched in Gold Foil Paper. The smooth oval is Gray Granite! I stamped the greeting in Blackberry Bliss Ink. The greeting as well as the image on the inside of the card is from the Banner Year Stamp Set! The greeting was added to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals…of course!! 🙂

Banner Year Stampin' Up Stamp Set, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Then for the inside of the card, I used Gray Granite cardstock (4″ x 5-1/4″) and stamped the corners! Just a little decoration to pull it all together! DONE!

How long did that take?!? You could even make it simpler by stamping the greeting on the front directly to the designer paper! Quick, simple, and made with love is perfect for this time of year! After all, it is the message and the thought that means the most!

Wishing you all a wonderful week! If you are feeling overwhelmed with the holidays and to-do lists, stop and think of your many blessings for just a minute with a grateful heart! Smile and power through! You got this! Remember that you mean so much to me and I appreciate you! HUGS!

Peppermint Kisses!!!

Posted on

At Target the other day and I see Sugar Cookie Kisses…..Yes please! Omg you all they were AMAZING and gone within a few days! Heavenly!!! Accepting all Sugar Cookie Kisses this season! 🙂 I also have this cute Peppermint Kisses card to share with you today!!!

Peppermint Kisses, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I got this card idea from the amazing, Kim Peck!!! It uses the Gingerbread and Peppermint Suite!!! You can check out more cards using this Suite here.

I started with a Real Red card base! Next, I took 2 pieces of Basic White measuring 3-3/4″ x 5″ – one for the front and one for the inside! I added a piece of the Gingerbread & Peppermint Designer Paper along the left hand side and stamped the greeting from the Frosted Gingerbread Stamp Set up top! NOTE: If you wish to stamp first, just make sure it is a bit off center since it is centered in the area after the designer paper is placed down!

Stampin' Up! Gingerbread & Peppermint Suite, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the kisses, I stamped 3 of the ornament baubles in Real Red Ink onto Basic White cardstock and then die cut them out! Then I flipped them upside down and placed the 2 on the bottom of the card front with the scallop at the bottom edge of the white cardstock. Using the cardstock as a guide, I trimmed off the tops of the ornaments to create a kiss! Next, I took the third ornament and trimmed less off so it looks bigger and placed it on the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals! To finish off the look, I added a little piece of White Crinkled Seam Binding to the tops of each one. I used Mini Glue Dots to adhere the ribbon.

Happy Holidays Peppermint Greeting Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

On the inside I decorated with a few of the peppermint candies from the stamp set and the greeting!!! I love the coordination of the front to the inside!

Beautiful Angels!

Posted on

The Beautiful Angels in the Angels of Peace Stamp Set are stunning! I love the elegant, classic look for Christmas time! Add in the Gold Glimmer Paper and I’m in love!

Beautiful Angels Christmas Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For these cards, I used Merry Merlot for the card base. Next, I layered on a piece of Basic White (4″ x 5-1/4″). Then I took a piece of the Gold Glimmer Paper and layered it on with Stampin’ Seal+. This adhesive doesn’t show through the vellum which is amazing! After creating the first card with the smooth Glimmer Paper, I decided to emboss it for a different look. I’m in LOVE!!!! It just takes this card to a whole new level! Which is your favorite?

Embossed Gold Glimmer Paper, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the center band, I wanted to break things up and add a little more depth. I went with the Simply Elegant Designer Series Paper layered on Basic White. Without the white, it just didn’t pop and I wanted it to POP!

Now for the beautiful angels! I simply stamped her in Merry Merlot onto Basic White cardstock and then layered it onto Merry Merlot. This piece was then added to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals! BUT WAIT…..before you go thinking this card is done, I added some Wink of Stella! Wink of Stella adds that hint of glimmer to the angel and it bleeds the ink out a bit. I did the flowers on her head as well as the holly in her hand. On another card, I went over each link of ink in the image to really make it pop and add more color. STUNNING!

Baby Wipe Bells!!!

Posted on

The Baby Wipe Technique has been around forever it seems. I have done it various times over the years and love the look! Here I created Baby Wipe Bells for this beautiful holiday card! What do you think?!?!

Baby Wipe Technique on Christmas Bells, www.LaurasStampPad.com

The Baby Wipe Technique is super easy and only requires a Baby Wipe and Ink Refills in any color that you would like! Simply fold the baby wipe to create 4-6 layers. This gives it enough squish to hold ink and press into the stamp. Next, add drips of color from the ink refills randomly all over, filling in all the white spots. For these bells, I used Real Red, Old Olive, and Cinnamon Cider. This is now your ink pad.

The first few images might come out a little odd or fabulous! It just depends. The more you use this “ink pad” the more the colors bleed together and mix for a fun look! I stamped the bells onto Shimmery White Cardstock for a little extra shine and because this cardstock is a hint thicker.

For this card, I used the Frosted Gingerbread Suite!!! You could try out this technique and use other images from the stamp set like the ornament and snowflake too!

Stampin' Up Cinnamon Cider, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the inside of the card, I actually used Cinnamon Cider rather than the typical Basic White or Very Vanilla. Have you ever tried this?!?! Super cool and I think I’m going to try it more often!

September 2021 Paper Pumpkin!!!

Posted on

I realized I never posted the September 2021 Paper Pumpkin Kit! While I am late I still wanted to share it so that I could look back on this kit! It was super cute and fun and made the perfect treat boxes for Fall!

September 2021 Paper Pumpkin, www.LaurasStampPad.com

The little boxes weren’t really that hard to put together especially since they are scored and have exact adhesive strips provided! TIP: Be careful “curling” or working the top little pieces that curve in. I used my bone folder to get the paper to curl in and I accidently ripped off a few of the little notches….ops! I wish I had good advice for notching each of the things at the top but I feel like I don’t even know! Some of them seemed to just connect so easy and others I struggled with like I lost my groove! LOL

Pumpkin Treat Boxes, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Claire actually helped me on these a little bit and then of course she “helped” make it more chaotic too! We did faces on some and added leaves to others. I did have TONS of faces and leaves left over. I also ended up not using the tags or the curly cues because I didn’t want to overcomplicate things and I felt they didn’t stay on well. Oh well, another project will enjoy them more!

The wheelbarrow box was super fun! I thought you have got to be kidding me when I heard it. So for that reason alone, I thought I have got to try this! My cutting skills are not the neatest and perfect but it actually came together pretty easy and looks okay! This won’t be a decoration piece I’ll keep for years to come though.

Some of the treats have just candy and others have a mini Playdoh in there as well as candy! They were perfect to gift to neighbors, friends and stamp class attendees!

You can sign up for Paper Pumpkin and join in the magic of the surprise and fun! These kits are perfect for beginners but also the avid crafter. So fun and perfectly sets you up for the upcoming holidays! Click here to get the November Paper Pumpkin!
