Technique Tuesday – Rosettes!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! That means I have a fabulous technique to show you and I thought I would keep the Big Shot Fun rolling!!! So this technique uses the Rosette Designer Die and I will show how to make fabulous Rosettes!!! PS: If you missed out on all of the Big Shot Fun last week, click here!

Designer Rosettes, Name Tag, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Aren’t these adorable? I am using them for my Bridal Events as name tags but you could always create a wreath out of them or an amazing backdrop or even a gift tag!

SUPPLIES NEEDED: Cardstock, Big Shot, Rosette Designer Bigz XL Die, Extended Cutting Pads, Silicone Craft Mat, Glue Gun, and embellishments to decorate

For the Rosettes above, I cut 2 pieces of cardstock measuring 1-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ because I wanted a little Rosette. You will need 2 pieces of cardstock because otherwise the rosette is too tight and it will not reach around without ripping. The more pieces you use, the fuller your rosette will look. If you want a larger rosette you will make your cardstock pieces wider. Once I had my cardstock ready to go, I placed them on the Rosette Designer Die with at least one end on a crease line, this way I knew it was lined up straight. Run it through your Big Shot and then start folding on the lines in a mountain/valley pattern. Then you will bring out your Silicone Mat and Hot Glue Gun. You can use the hot glue or Sticky Strip or the new Fast Fuse to connect your ends with each other. You will want to connect them so that they keep the mountain/valley. Now you will take your hot glue gun and squeeze out a big glob of it onto your Silicone Mat, then place the rosette on top of the the hot glue, placing the center of the rosette on the glue. Hold for a few seconds, allowing it to cool and then you have your perfect rosette and you can decorate as you wish! I added some Blackberry Bliss Satin Stitched Ribbon and Venetian Crochet Trim, adhering it with more hot glue. Then for the greeting I used the I love you from the Good Greetings Stamp Set which is a Hostess Special Set that you can earn starting on August 28th! I stamped it on Very Vanilla cardstock and punched it out with my 1-3/4″ Circle Punch and layered it onto a Blackberry Bliss Scallop Circle Punch. For the other one, I used a greeting from a Demonstrator Set that I have so I could have little name tags! I used the Decorative Label Punch for that one!

Okay so I may have lost you on the directions above so I have created a Video Tutorial to show you how to create these amazing little rosettes! Be sure to give the video a thumbs up if you like it and want to see more Video Tutorials!

Don’t forget about the Big Shot Special that ends on August 31st! Also, if you want to earn the Good Greetings Stamp Set for FREE, click here to book your party/stamp class today!!!

More Cards using Sponge Daubers!!!!

Posted on

Okay, so if you have been following my blog for even a week you probably know I love the color PINK and my SPONGE DAUBERS! These are just the coolest things ever and can really make your project amazing!!! Check out some samples using them here and here. Then I did a Video Tutorial on using your sponge daubers here! Well today I thought I would show you a few more samples!!!!

Inking with your Sponge Daubers, www.LaurasStampPad.com

In the video, I showed you a sample using shades of green but then I created a shade of purple background! This is the completed card! I stamped the word Hello using the Epic Alphabet Stamp Set and my Stazon Ink and then I added some bling – Rhinestones! I layered that piece onto Wisteria Wonder (the lightest shade I used) and then placed it on a card base of Blackberry Bliss (the darkest shade I used)! I just love using multiple shades of one color because it really shows an amazing spectrum!

Inking with your Sponge Daubers, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card was created by one of my stampers at Stamp Class and she used 5 different shades of green – Pistachio Pudding, Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, Garden Green, and Mossy Meadow! She added the name Mike because his birthday was right around the corner! She also used the Epic Alphabet Stamp Set as well as A Dozen Thoughts (Wish Big) and Teeny Tiny Wishes (Happy Birthday)! I love how my stampers sometimes do exactly what I do and other times get creative and do their own thing! Together, we always come up with another great idea! I love it!!! I hope you try out this technique and feel free to leave me a comment below or send me your project. I would love to see it and share it!

Big Shot Promotion & Fabulous Friday!!!

Posted on

Today is HOT HOT HOT (and I’m not just talking about the temperature outside)! Today I am keeping the Big Shot Fun rolling so I have another Big Shot Tutorial for you! If you missed out any of the others this week, check them out here – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday! It’s also FRIDAY so the weekend is in site! Can I get a WOOT WOOT?

Spiral Flower Die, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I’m showing you how to make these amazing little flowers! I used the Spiral Flower Die with my Big Shot to get the template cut out for these flowers! You need a piece of cardstock that measures 4″ x 4-1/4″ and you can run 2-4 pieces of cardstock through the Big Shot at one time! Great for making lots of flowers at the same time! Then you will un the die-cut image over your bone folder to break down the fibers of the cardstock. This will make it start to curl as well. The middle of the flower is the smallest little scallop, not the bigger end. (That was a surprise to me, I totally thought start big and work your way down. Fold the first (smallest) scallop back and then start rolling forward. This will create a nice flower center. Your hot glue gun and Silicone Mat will be your best friend for finishing these flowers off too! When making a flower with 2 colors, just lay the 2 pieces together and start rolling! You can even do 2 of the same colors and roll them together for a nice full flower! After you have rolled it all nice and tight, throw it in the air and let it bounce around a little to loosen up if you want a fuller, more open flower! Add your hot glue glob to the last circle/scallop and press your flower rolls into that glob and hold for 10 seconds. You can then add some hot glue to the 2nd scallop to adhere it to the side of your flower if you want a tight look. Once you are finished and it is dried/cooled, take a clear block and press it on the top of your flower (too much pressing can result in a ripped/smoothed flower). This will flatten the petals out a little and make your flower look more open. You can also use your bone folder to fold the petals out a little too! Don’t forget to save your negative image of the die to use for Pop Up Cards, check that out here!

To see this in action, check out my Video Tutorial below! Be sure to give it a thumbs up if you enjoyed it and want to see more! Let me know in the comments what you would like to see next!

Big Shot Promotion – Top Note Treat Topper!

Posted on

Happy Big Shot Fun Week! If you missed out on the rest of this week, click the day to see Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday! Today I am showing you ways to use your Top Note Die for an adorable treat topper!

Top Note Tag Topper, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This little treat bag is adorable! At first I added in the piece of Pool Party cardstock in the bag just so you could see the clear bag better but I kept it in there because it gives a great background to the treats! 🙂 I used the Top Note Die for the tag topper and just folded it in half! If you are using a smaller bag, you can always fold it the other way! The Top Note was done in Pear Pizzazz and then I stamped the greeting from Million & One in Basic Gray! Fabulous! I then punched out 2 butterflies – Elegant Butterfly Punch with Pool Party and Bitty Butterfly Punch with Pear Pizzazz. Layer your butterflies and attach to the treat topper with a Stampin’ Dimensional and then add a few Rhinestones for some bling! These treats would be perfect for teachers (Happy Back to School), neighbors, party favors, etc! To see this project in action, check out the Video Tutorial below! Don’t forget to give me a thumbs up if you like it and want to see more videos like this!

Big Shot Promotion – Quick and Simple Card!

Posted on

Still continuing the Big Shot Fun this week! If you missed Monday and Tuesday, be sure to check them out! Today I’m showing you a quick and simple card using your Big Shot not once but twice!

Perfect Pennants, Banner Framelits, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Tempting Turquoise and Strawberry Slush are just precious together!!! This simple card uses a Whisper White card base (4-1/4″ x 11″)! I embossed a piece of Tempting Turquoise cardstock measuring 3-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ with my Decorative Dots Embossing Folder! That was a piece that was handy in my scraps bags so you could always change up the size of that piece to whatever you have available! 😉 Then grab a piece of Whisper White scrap cardstock and stamp a greeting from the Perfect Pennants Stamp Set. Using a coordinating Banner Framelit, place that on your Big Shot and run it through for a perfect banner! I then used my 1/8″ Circle Handheld Punch to punch a hole for your Thick Baker’s Twine! You can punch 2 holes if you prefer to loop your twine across! Add that to your card with some Stampin’ Dimensionals and you have a fabulous card! The Perfect Pennants Stamp Set has a star and heart stamp in the set as well so I stamped a little heart on the inside just to decorate it up a little! Love it!

Perfect Pennants, Banner Framelits, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This sample is very similar style but I used my Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder and after adding the twine I pulled the ends apart to flare it out a little! To see this card in action using your Big Shot, check out the Video Tutorial below! If you like the video be sure to give it a thumbs up and don’t forget to subscribe to my channel so you don’t miss the rest of my Big Shot Videos this week!

Technique Tuesday – Big Shot Promotion!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday and Happy Big Shot Week here on my blog! Click here to see yesterday’s post! Today I’m going to show you an amazing technique with your Big Shot and Embossing Folders! Don’t forget about the amazing Big Shot Promotion Stampin’ Up! has going on this month! Today we are going to talk about using your Embossing Folders with your Big Shot! I love embossing my projects because I really think it takes a simple card to a WOW card with just the crank of the Big Shot!

Decorative Dots Work of Art, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Okay first off check out this amazing card! LOVE IT! It is soooo simple too! I just used a 4-1/4″ x 11″ piece of Whisper White Cardstock and stamped the amazing flower with my Work of Art Stamp Set! I used Blackberry Bliss & Mossy Meadow Ink (for the various shades of purple I stamped a few times before going back to the ink pad)! Then I placed the card front into the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder and ran it through my Big Shot! How amazing?!?! I love it! No adhesive required! 🙂

Lucky Stars Inked Folder, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Now this one was done a little differently! I used the NEW Lucky Stars Embossing Folder which is coming out in the Holiday Mini Catalog on August 28th! I opened up the embossing folder and on the side where the stars pop up I lightly tapped my ink pad over top! You don’t want to press too hard or the ink will go down into the flat area of the embossing folder. Now you will place your piece of cardstock into the non-inked side and close the folder. You can either close the folder and just press and viola you are done or you can close it and run it through the Big Shot for a colored and textured look! I then assembled this piece onto Daffodil Delight Cardstock and Night of Navy card base! I used my Night of Navy Marker to color the Whisper White Organza Ribbon to match! Check out this post for more on that! The greeting is from the Petite Pairs Stamp Set which I punched out with my Decorative Label Punch and added a few punched stars from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack! Check out the video tutorial below to see this in action!!! Don’t forget to give it a thumbs up if you like this video and want to see more! Only 13 more days to get your Big Shot and a Free Bundle! Check back tomorrow for some more Big Shot Fun!

Big News Awesome Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This greeting is just fabulous! You could send this card to anyone who is AWESOME, someone who got promoted, someone who achieved a goal or your niece who is starting school TODAY! I’m doing that last one if you hadn’t guessed! Auntie of the Year right here! 🙂 I know you are probably getting tired of seeing Coastal Cabana but I can’t help myself and just I gravitate towards that color. I added a POP of black and white with the Back to Black Designer Series Paper. Then I stamped the greeting from the Big News Stamp Set and used my Big Shot and Deco Label Framelits to cut it out! Don’t ask me where this came from but I brushed the edges using my Sponge Daubers with…..Smoky Slate. Mixing it up folks!!!! Love it!!!!

Big News Awesome Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Here is another one. The Blackberry Bliss card base is kind of hard to see with my black background, sorry about that. Again I used some Back to Black Designer Series Paper and this time I used my Labels Collection Framelits! This is a bit larger than the one above and fits the greeting a little more! I stamped the greeting in Encore Gold Ink which gives it a little shine and bling as well as the Gold Sequins!!!! I attached the Gold Sequins with Mini Glue Dots! For more samples using the Big News Stamp Set, click here and here!

Who would you send a card like this too? Who do you think is AWESOME? Leave the name in the comments below!

Happy Stampin’! Be Awesome!
