Gather Together & Give Thanks!!!

Posted on

Gather together & give thanks…..that greeting warms my heart. I love spending time with family and friends and we always need a reminder to give thanks for the amazing blessings we have in our lives. This is just another reason Thanksgiving is my 2nd favorite holiday behind Easter!

Gather Together & Give Thanks, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card has been a big favorite at all of my classes and of course it is….it has a flower!!! 🙂 You all know I love flowers!

I started with a Crushed Curry card base. Next I took a piece of Early Espresso (5-1/4″ x 2-1/2″) and ripped along one edge for a rough look. Be sure to rip slowly in small amounts and not just one full rip down the entire piece. I layered on a piece of the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper (5-1/4″ x 2″). I added this piece to some Very Vanilla measuring 5-1/4″ x 4″. Next I stamped the greeting from the Painted Harvest Stamp Set in Old Olive and the dots in Lemon Lime Twist. You could stamp the dots at the end after putting it all together or you can do it now. Next, I added this to the card front!

Sunflower, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Now for the focal point of that amazing flower! I used the Painted Harvest Stamp Set and coordinating Leaf Punch (Bundle and Save 10%). The flower was stamped in Crushed Curry Ink (full strength both time) and Early Espresso for the center. I did fuzzy cut the flower which isn’t my favorite but sure looks amazing! The leaves were stamped in Lemon Lime Twist first and then Old Olive on top. Using the Leaf Punch, I punched them out! For adding it to the card front, I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to secure the leaves to the back of the flower and then to the front of the card! To finish off the card, I added a few Crushed Curry Enamel Shapes! I just love it!!!

Don’t forget you can get the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper as part of the Buy 3, Get 1 Free Designer Series Paper Special this month!

Technique Tuesday – Adding a Foil Border!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! That means  I have a fabulous technique for you today….or in this case, it is kind of like a hack! Adding a foil border to your project with the Year of Cheer Designer Washi Tape is simple, less layers than adding foil paper, and more cost effective!!! Woot Woot!

Adding a Foil Border, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Isn’t this card just stunning and perfect for any Fall occasion?!?!? It was super simple using the Washi Tape rather than cutting a large piece of Foil Paper to cover up most and just allow the border!

I started with a Crumb Cake card base. Next, I took a piece of Always Artichoke (5-1/2″ x 2″) and placed it on my card front. You can go ahead and adhere it down and place the Washi Tape next to it or simple place it there as a guide and then add it later. Add a strip of the Copper Washi Tape from the Year of Cheer Washi Tape Pack on the top and bottom. Then you can add the strip of green if you haven’t already.

For the leaves, I stamped 2 of them on Very Vanilla squares measuring 1-3/4″ x 1-3/4″ from the Colorful Seasons Stamp Set. I used Cajun Craze Ink and Cherry Cobbler Ink. Be sure to stamp off once on the solid image and then go full strength on the outline image. The center leaf was die cut with the coordinating Seasonal Layers Framelits from Copper Foil Paper. I used the Fine Tip Glue Pen to adhere it. When placing the squares onto the card front, I started with the outside ones making them flush with the edge of the card. Then I added the center one. To finish off the card, I added the greeting at the bottom in Early Espresso Ink!

You can purchase the Colorful Seasons Stamp Set at 15% off with the World Card Making Day Special going on till October 10th! Be sure to check out those deals here as well as the Buy 3, Get 1 Free Designer Series Paper Special here.

Year of Cheer Suite, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Look at all of the bling??? It’s just stunning! This card  is perfect for Thanksgiving or you could change up the greeting for any other occasion!

I started with a Whisper White card base. Next, I layered on a piece of the Year of Cheer Specialty Designer Series Paper measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. For the greeting, I cut a piece of Whisper White (3″ x 2-1/2″) and added strips of the Year of Cheer Washi Tape. I just added a piece and ripped the ends. Before adding this to the card front, I cut a Silver Foil Snowflake in half and added it to either end.

Metallic Washi Tape, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Next, I stamped the greeting from the Paisleys & Posies Stamp Set in Basic Gray Ink onto Whisper White. I simply cut around the greeting close by so that I could pop it up over the washi tape with Stampin’ Dimensionals!!! You could use any greeting for this card based on the occasion you need a card for! I just love it!

Trick or Treat Kitty!!!

Posted on

I love kitties (insert….soft kitty, warm kitty, purr purr purr) so when the Cat Punch came out I knew I wanted it. I’m not a huge Halloween person but this Trick or Treat Kitty is cute!!! I decided to get the punch and the Spooky Night Designer Series Paper and use those items for a few Halloween goodies!

Trick or Treat Kitty, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This quick and simple card is perfect for Halloween!

I started  with a Very Vanilla card base. I added a strip of Basic Black (4-1/4″ x 2-1/4″) to the left side. Next, I layered some of the Spooky Night Designer Paper on top (4-1/4″ x 2″). There are 2 sheets of the designer paper with kitties all over them in black and orange so I punched those out! It was super simple! Some of the kitties aren’t a full one but you could always use those on another project with him peaking out from a doorway or from a potted plant or on the side of a card!

Spooky Night Designer Paper, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Since some of the kitties are orange and others are black, I used the 2″ Circle Punch to punch out orange and black circles to alternate! This is a great way to use the same concept and all the kitties! I added the kitty to the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals for a little texture. The greeting was stamped in Pumpkin Pie Ink from the Seasonal  Chums Stamp Set. I simply stamped the middle one first and then above and below without going back to the ink. To finish it off, I added some Pumpkin Pie Enamel Shapes!

Halloween Kitty, www.LaurasStampPad.com

The card will be perfect for my nieces and nephews for Halloween this year!!! I love that I can use the Spooky Nights Designer Series Paper for non-Halloween occasions as well because  the other side of the paper is more generic prints. Very versatile for all your crafting needs and for those who don’t like Halloween as much!

Do you like Halloween?? Let me know in the comments below!

Technique Tuesday – Creating an Ombre Textured Background!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! You know what that means….I have a fabulous technique to share with you today!!! Creating this ombre textured background is perfect for any card style and the best part is that it uses up all of those scraps we tend to save!

Ombre Textured Background, www.LaurasStampPad.com

The texture and those masculine colors are just so fabulous! I really struggle with man cards so I love how this one turned out!!!

I started with a Chocolate Chip card base and layered on a piece of Crumb Cake measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. Then using scraps of various shades of greens and blue, I cut the following pieces.

1-3/4″ x 3-3/4″ – Emerald Envy

1-1/2″ x 3-3/4″ – Tranquil Tide

1″ x 3-3/4″ – Bermuda Bay

3/4″ x 3-3/4″ – Pool Party

Next, I took a scrap piece of white….just any long and skinny leftover piece and added adhesive all the way down it. I placed each of the pieces listed above along the white, butt up to each other. The white is to hold them all together as one. Then I placed this into the Seaside Embossing Folder. TIP: If you place it in going up and down like the sample above, it will come out as shown. Place it in sideways (the other way) and it pulls each of the pieces apart a bit. That’s great if you like this look. If you did this on accident, you can always snip each of them apart and then glue them on your card base individually. Finally, I added this piece to the card front and tied some Linen Thread around the top.

For the focal point, I used the Coffee Cafe Stamp Set and coordinating Coffee Cups Framelits (Bundle & Save 10%)! I stamped the cup in Chocolate Chip Ink onto Whisper White. The coffee collar was die cut in Chocolate Chip as well. The lid was stamped in Chocolate Chip onto Chocolate Chip and die cut. The greeting was stamped in Bermuda Bay Ink and the little heart for the stir stick was stamped in Emerald Envy Ink. I added the cup to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. To get the lid connected to the cup, I simply placed it on top and added Stampin’ Dimensionals along the seam to hold them together!

Hand Tied Bouquet of Flowers!!!

Posted on

You all know I love flower so much and makes lots of cards with them! You can check out the millions I’ve done by clicking here! This hand tied bouquet of flower is just stunning!!! I can’t get enough!

Hand Tied Bouquet of Flowers, www.LaurasStampPad.com

The more I play with flower stamps, the more I love them! The possibilities are endless!

I started with a Rose Red card base. Next, I took a piece of Whisper White (4″ x  5-1/4″) and ran it through the Big Shot in the Brick Wall Embossing Folder. I added this piece to the card front! Using the Layering Squares Framelits, I die cut a Whisper White square and an Island Indigo scallop square. On the white square, I stamped the greeting in Crumb Cake Ink and the flowers in Crushed Curry along the right side and top. All of these images are from the Beautiful Bouquet Stamp Set! I adhered these two layers together and added a 1/4 of a piece of the Delicate White Doily to the bottom and added it to the card front. I love adding just a hint of the doily and being able to create 4 cards with just 1 of them!

Floral Arrangement, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Now for that amazing bouquet. Again, all of these was created with the Beautiful Bouquet Stamp Set and coordinating Bouquet Bunch Framelits (Bundle & Save 10%). The stems were done in Pear Pizzazz and then I added the Crumb Cake stamped hand tie. I wanted a little bit more texture so I tied some Linen Thread around it as well. For the flowers, I used Rose Red, Crushed Curry, Island Indigo, and Tangerine Tango. Some of the flowers were attached flat and some were added with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I also used a few Enamel Shapes for some more pop and texture.

This card  is perfect for any occasion….another reason I love flowers on cards!!! What do you like to use flower cards for? Let me know in the comments below!

Color Inspiration for the Sunflower Stamp!!!

Posted on

I have been LOVING the Painted Harvest Stamp Set and using it like every day!!! Today, I’m sharing a little color inspiration for the Sunflower Stamp because I have tried lots of them!!!

Color Inspiration for the Sunflower Stamp, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Do you prefer to keep it as the traditional yellow sunflower or branch out and use other colors?? Let me know in the comments below!

I started with an Island Indigo card base. Next, I took a piece of Very Vanilla measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″ to stamp the flowers on. I used the 2 step flower image from the Painted Harvest Stamp Set. I love how while it is a 2-Step stamp, there is no perfect way to line it up. Just stamp them together. The other bonus is that you don’t have to stamp off. Doing both at full strength is just fabulous!!! I stamped the flower in Marina Mist for the larger image and Island Indigo for the smaller more detailed one. The center was stamped in Early Espresso! For the leaves I used Old Olive and Tranquil Tide! The colors are just amazing!

To finish off the card, I added a strip of Tranquil Tide Finely Woven Ribbon across the middle and wrapping the ends to the back. Then I added this to the card front. For the greeting, I used the Stitched Shapes Framelits and Layering Circles Framelits. The greeting is from the Flourishing Phrases Stamp Set and stamped in Marina Mist Ink! I added the greeting to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals!

Now for some more color combinations! Which one is your favorite?? I think mine is the Fresh Fig and Berry Burst combination!

You Mocha Me Crazy!!!

Posted on

Happy Wednesday! Here’s a little coffee to help you through the rest of the week. I am not a coffee drinker but have fallen in love with the Coffee Cafe Bundle and this adorable little pun…..You Mocha Me Crazy!!!You Mocha Me Crazy, www.LaurasStampPad.com

So to be honest, since I’m not a coffee drinker, I looked at this Suite and thought that it was cute but not for me. Then I take a lot of customers talking about it and saying how they loved it so I had to get on board. I LOVE IT!!! See here’s the thing, I don’t drink coffee but everyone I know does…..and after all I make cards for them and not myself! 🙂

I started with a Pear Pizzazz card base. Next, I took a piece of Whisper White (4″ x 5-1/4″) to stamp on. Then I just placed a piece of the Coffee Break Designer Series Paper (1″ x 5-1/4″) at the time. I didn’t adhere it just yet….in case I messed up my stamping. Using the designer paper as a guide, I stamped the lid and whipped topping from the Coffee Cafe Stamp Set in Basic Black Ink making sure to leave room for the straw. Then I stamped the cup and the straw.

I did it this way so that my spacing worked and everything fit. If I had stamped the cup first and added all the extras on top, it might be too high for the designer paper. When stamping the straw, simply place a scrap piece of paper over the lid as a mask. The straw stripes were stamped in Pear Pizzazz.

Coffee Cup, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the coffee part, I placed scrap paper on either side of the cup and added some Early Espresso Ink with a Sponge Dauber! Now to assemble, I officially adhered the designer paper and attached it to the card base. Next, I wrapped some Black Baker’s Twine around the card and tied it into a bow. Using the little greeting from the Coffee Cafe Stamp Set, I stamped it on scrap white and punched it out with the 1/2″ Circle Punch. I added those with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals and a few little Rhinestones for some bling!

This card is just super cute and ready to give to a friend for a coffee date to catch up!!!

Technique Tuesday – Colorful Fall Leaves!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! That means I have a fabulous technique to share with you! Aren’t these colorful Fall leaves so real looking? I love how each one comes out different and they are just so stunning!

Colorful Fall Leaves, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This technique is super fun and simple! All you need is a baby wipe and your favorite fall colors of Ink Refills!

I started with a Cajun Craze card base. Next, I took a piece of Very Vanilla measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. I actually stamped my greeting at the end but if you are concerned about leaving enough space, you can stamp it first. The greeting was stamped in Early Espresso Ink from the Colorful Seasons Stamp Set. This stamp set is perfect for all year long. Check out these other samples I created using it here, here, and here!

Now for stamping the leaves. I took a regular baby wipe and unfolded it from all of the creases in the package. Then I folded it in half twice to create a rectangle/square. I placed mine in a clear mount stamp case but any sort of plastic surface or disposable plate would work. Then simply add drops of your favorite fall colors from Ink Refills. I used Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler, and Always Artichoke.

Baby Wipe Ink Pad, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This is now the ink pad that I used for stamping the large and small leaf from the Colorful Seasons Stamp Set. I stamped the images all around the left hand side, top and bottom! Once I had all the leaves I wanted, I added some Old Olive Mini Chevron Ribbon to the bottom. Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, I added it to the card front. The card at the top was done with a knot and the one below I just added a strip of the ribbon. Which do you prefer?

Fall Leaves, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This new “ink pad” that was created can stamp tons of leaves before drying out or using it all up. Mine was actually still wet and usable the next day even! Of course every time I create a new “ink pad” it comes out different. Sometimes I have more of one color and other times I have a big splotches of color. I just love that crackle look from the texture on the baby wipe and the colors blending together!

Creating Loops of Sequins Behind Your Greeting!!!

Posted on

I have recently fallen in love with these little loops of sequins behind the greeting! It really just makes it POP and I love the little bit of bling!

Leaves of Gold, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I used the Painted Harvest Stamp Set from the Holiday Mini Catalog which is perfect for this card and SO many other fabulous ones! Stay tuned to more samples using that amazing sunflower too!

I started with an Old Olive card base! Next I took a piece of Whisper White measuring 3-3/4″ x 5″ and stamped the leaf from the Painted Harvest Stamp Set 3 times. I used Old Olive Ink for both stamped images. Since these images are textured and not solid, they really overlay perfectly! I love it! After stamping the leaves, I added the strips of the Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper. These strips are just 3/4″ wide and angled on each end.

Loops of Gold Sequins, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Now, it’s time for the greeting. I used the Layering Circles Framelits for the Whisper White and Gold Foil circle! I stamped the greeting from the Painted Harvest Stamp Set! After adhering the greeting to the Gold Foil circle, I flipped it over. I took a strip of the Mini Gold Sequin Trim and looped it around the backside. Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, I secured these loops in the exact spot that I wanted it. (Yes, I am an over-user of dimensionals but that’s okay!) Next I added this to the card front. Since there are always a few sequins that fall off the end, I added them around the greeting to the card front. I used the Fine Tip Glue Pen to adhere them! I just love it!!!
