White Washing!!!

Posted on

Happy Wednesday…..but sort of like a Tuesday! Since the launch of the Year End Closeout was yesterday, I posted about all of that so you didn’t miss out! So that means today I’m sharing the fun Technique “Tuesday”. It is all about White Washing!!!

White Washing, www.LaurasStampPad.com

How fabulous is this magnolia from the Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set?!?!?! Beautiful! I am loving it so much! I had fun with different color combinations and variations of the White Washing Technique. Simply White Washing like the one above….or adding color like this one!!

Adding Color to White Washing, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Simply adding a little color with a Sponge Dauber takes this technique to a whole new level! I love it so much! Then I thought I would try it on green so that the leaves are already green and I would just do the flower! Here’s that look!

Good Morning Magnolia, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Which one is your favorite?? Let me know in the comments below! Also, if you would like to recreate these fun cards, check out the supply list below!

3D Embossing Folder Plate!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! I’m keeping it simple today and sharing with you the 3D Embossing Folder Plate! Many of you have been asking me why your Embossing Folders aren’t going through and this is the trick!!

3D Embossing Folder Plate, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This fun blue plate has been a product that Stampin’ Up released to help us with embossing. Unfortunately since it was a product release after the Annual Catalog came out, it hasn’t been in an actual catalog. So while it is available, it’s been under the radar kind of!

The blue plate is a bit thicker than the clear plates for die cutting and embossing. When using Stampin’ Up’s 3D Embossing Folders, 1 clear plate is not thick enough and 2 is way too thick! So rather than using cardboard shims and getting super frustrated, we have the fun blue plate!!!

Check out all of this in action with the 3D Embossing Folder Plate in the video below or click here! Be sure to give the video a thumbs up if you liked it and don’t forget to subscribe if you are new. Laura’s Quick Tips: Cutting Ribbon!!!

Posted on

Ribbon is my #1 embellishment for sure. I just love the different textures, the shine, and the ways you can use it. Tie a bow, tie a knot, lay it flat, wiggle it behind the focal point….so many options! Today, I thought I would share a Laura’s Quick Tips on cutting ribbon and getting a clean line!

Ribbon Cutting, www.LaurasStampPad.com

The 2 major points is to make sure you are holding the ribbon tight on both ends of where you are cutting. This makes for a nice clean line where the scissors aren’t munching or pushing the ribbon. The next time is to have clean scissors. I clean mine often with rubbing alcohol and a paper towel! It takes off the sticky and gunk.

If you would like to watch me cutting ribbon with a nice clean line, check out the video below or click here! Be sure to give the video a thumbs up if you liked it and don’t forget to subscribe if you are new. What Do You Stamp With When Coloring???

Posted on

Today, I have another one of Laura’s Quick Tips to share with you! This came from a question I got from my Facebook Page. The question was what do you stamp with when coloring??

What Do You Stamp With, www.LaurasStampPad.com

My answer this question is Basic Gray! That is what I prefer to use when I am coloring with Stampin’ Blends or Watercoloring. I find that Basic Gray has a soft subtle look verses a bold black look. This is just my opinion so you can use what you would like. Check out these photos to see both options! Let me know which you prefer in the comments below!

Christmas Roses!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! Today’s technique is a bit tricky…..stamping or coloring! Can you guess which one I did on these Christmas Roses?? Which one do you prefer??

Christmas Roses, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I am just loving the Christmas Roses Stamp Set that just came out this month! The image is stunning and so fun to color! The card above is actually colored rather than stamped with all of the coordinating images. While stamping was easy to do as the images are photopolymer, I found coloring to be more fun!

This card was created super quickly as I just stamped in the image in Basic Gray and then colored it with Stampin’ Blends. Next, I die cut it with the coordinating Roses Dies. After that, I added it to the card. The card base is Mossy Meadow with a piece of the Christmastime Is Here Designer Series Paper!!! While the Suite has a lot of gold in it, I decided to branch out and use some silver for the card.

Meanwhile, stay tuned for tomorrow’s card where I show more fabulous samples using the Christmastime is Here Bundle. Remember it is while supplies last so get these fun products before they are gone!
