Relax & Chinchilla Out!!!

Posted on

This is the adorable card I gave my mom for her retirement. I mean actually I sent her a lot of cards but this one I made specifically for her because I thought it was cute and she would enjoy it! Relax & chinchilla out…it’s the perfect greeting, right?

Relax & Chinchilla Out, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Isn’t it adorable??? I even stamped a coordinating envelope!

For this card, I started with a Pretty Peacock card base. Next, I layered on some Mango Melody and then some Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper!! Then for the focal point, I die cut out 2 sizes of the Stitched So Sweetly labels! These are so cute and perfect for adding a greeting on your card!

Glittered Chinchilla, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Using the Witty-cisms Stamp Set, I stamped the greeting/image in Memento Black Ink. Then I colored the little chinchilla in with the Light Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends Marker. To add a little bling, I colored over him with the Wink of Stella Pen! Then I layered these together and added it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals!

Retirement Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the inside of the card, I stamped another greeting from the Witty-cisms Stamp Set. I also added a little strip of the Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper to the left hand side to bring it all together! I love how it turned out and my Mom loved it too!!!

Check out the supplies listed below if you need to make a fun “relax & chinchilla out” retirement card! Don’t forget that the FREE Stamp Set of the Month this month is the Under My Umbrella Stamp Set for order of $75 or more!

Best Dressed, www.LaurasStampPad.com

It’s just so beautiful! The colors, the flowers, and that fabulous layered greeting! I love it all!

I started with a Blackberry Bliss card base. Next, I layered a piece of Best Dressed Designer Series Paper (3-3/4″ x 5″) onto a piece of Purple Posy (4″ x 5-1/4″). Before adding this to the card front, I tied some Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding around it. I just tied it into a knot but you could always go for the bow!

Label Me Lovely Punch, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the greeting, I stamped it from the Sending You Thoughts Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set in Blackberry Bliss Ink! Then I punched it out with the Label Me Fancy Punch! This was then layered onto a Blackberry Bliss piece that I punched out with the Label Me Lovely Punch. I added this to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals for some added texture!

Another Sensational Year, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Blackberry Bliss is a super dark color so of course I needed some decoration on the inside. I added in a piece of Whisper White and just put a little leftover strip of the designer paper on the left side. The greeting comes from the same stamp set and coordinates so well! I love it!

Coloring Foil Paper!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! You all know that means I have a fabulous technique to share with you today! I’m coloring foil paper to really make this amazing Flowering Foil Designer Paper shine!!!!

Coloring Foil Paper, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I just love how this card turned out! It’s so pretty and that color combination is fabulous – Highland Heather and Mint Macaron!

There are different ways to color the Flowering Foil Paper but you can also leave it as is with the white and foils! I colored with both sponge daubers and Stampin’ Blends. I prefer the Stampin’ Blends because I really like the clean look!

Sponge Daubers vs Stampin' Blends, www.LaurasStampPad.com

The piece on the right was done with all Sponge Daubers. The flower (Highland Heather) was really easy to do. The leaves (Mint Macaron) got a bit trickier as they come to a point and Sponge Daubers don’t have as precise of a point. Then when it came to doing those little buds (Calypso Coral) it got really messy. In order to make it look less messy, I filled in around the flowers with some Pool Party. It’s not horrible but not clean looking either. For the one on the left, I used Sponge Daubers for flowers and leaves and then Stampin’ Blends for the buds. I loved how that looked so then I did the 3rd one with all Stampin’ Blends and that’s the one I used on my card!

Flowering Foil Designer Series Paper, www.LaurasStampPad.com

After coloring it, I layered it onto Highland Heather and then onto the Mint Macaron card base! I used the Tags in Bloom Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set and Label Me Fancy Punch for the greeting! It’s perfect for any occasion! Don’t forget that Sale-A-Bration ends a week from today!!! Also, my Free Stamp Set of the Month for this month is Full of Happiness. You will get this set for free when you order $75 or more before tax and shipping!

Gangs All Meer, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Next, I layered this piece onto some Crumb Cake. Using the Seaside Spray Scalloped Linen Ribbon, I added some across to separate the greeting and the focal image. This also gives a little bit of texture. Then I added this piece to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. To finish it off, I added a few Seaside Spray Faceted Dots!

Little Lizard, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Let the Paper Do It!!!

Posted on

Stampin’ Up makes some amazing gorgeous designer paper. Sometimes the hardest part is cutting it up or deciding which side to use. Push past that and let the paper do all the hard work! Just add the paper and embellish!!!

Let the Paper Do It, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Look at this beautiful card using the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper. The poppies do all of the hard work and I just added some ribbon and a greeting! It’s that simple!

I started with a Rich Razzleberry card base. Next, I layered a piece of the Peaceful Poppies Designer Paper (3-3/4″ x 5″) onto a piece of Calypso Coral cardstock (4″ x 5-1/4″). Before adding these layers to the card front, I tied some Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding around it. I just did a knot but you could always tie a bow! I recommend double knotting it before creating the bow so that it’s not a secure/tight around the cardstock!

Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the greeting, I die cut out the coral decorative circle from the Painted Labels Dies. Next, I took a piece of Whisper White and stamped the greeting from the Here’s A Card Stamp Set. I punched it out with the 1-1/4″ Circle Punch! The white is layered onto the coral with Snail Adhesive but then I added it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals for some texture!

Do you like using Designer Paper on every card? I feel like I always start with that and need some sort of pattern but technically stamps, ink, and paper makes a beautiful card too….like this card! Remember if you are looking for a quick and simple card, just let the paper do it! Let me know you favorite in the comments below!!!

Rain or Shine!!!

Rain of Shine….you are always on my mind! How adorable is that greeting!?!? Especially this time of year when it seems to be raining all the time. I still love Spring though!!!

Rain or Shine, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This adorable card uses the Pleased As Punch Designer Series Paper which is from the Sale-A-Bration Coordination Release. This paper will no longer be available after March 31st so get it before it’s gone!

First, I started with a Whisper White card base. Next, I layered on a piece of Balmy Blue Cardstock measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. Then I took the umbrella piece of designer paper and cut some pieces into 3-3/4″ x 2″ and others into 3-3/4″ x 3″. One side of the paper is raindrops and the other is the umbrellas. I did the rain on top and the umbrellas on the bottom.

Using the Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon, I added a bit of adhesive in the middle and pressed the ribbon into it. The ends are not secured down but that adds some texture to the card! For the greeting, I stamped it in Calypso Coral Ink onto Whisper White. The greeting is from the Under My Umbrella Stamp Set. Using the Label Me Fancy Punch, I punched out the greeting and added it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals!

This quick and simple rain or shine card is easy to whip up on a rainy day. Send out a few each week to a friend or family member that you are thinking of. It will be sure to brighten their day! See the complete list of supplies below!

I started with a Lovely Lipstick card base. Next, I layered some Best Dressed Designer Paper (3-3/4″ x 5″) onto a piece of Petal Pink (4″ x 5-1/4″). Then I tied some of the Petal Pink Metallic Edge Ribbon around it and into a knot. Make sure you get this step in before adhering this layer to the card base.

Pretty Label Punch, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the greeting, I stamped it in Melon Mambo Ink onto Whisper White and punched it out with the Pretty Label Punch! The greeting is from the So Sentimental Stamp Set! Making a Full Bow!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! You all know that means I have a fun technique to share with you!!! Today, I’m making a full bow and showing you exactly how I did it!!! Check it out!!!

Koala Cutie, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For this card, I started with a Smoky Slate card base and stamped the little confetti stamp all over the background. By stamping it in Smoky Slate Ink, it just gives that perfect subtle background. All of the images on this card are from the Bonanza Buddies Stamp Set!! Next, I layered a piece of the Birthday Bonanza Designer Series Paper (3-1/2″ x 4-1/2″) onto So Saffron cardstock (3-3/4″ x 4-3/4″). I added these layers to the card front a little diagonal for some fun!

Making a Full Bow, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the tag, I die cut it from the coordinating Bonanza Dies and stamped the greeting on the bottom in Terracotta Tile. I also stamped the balloon in the same color and added a little string in Momento Black. Then on scrap white, I stamped the koala in Smoky Slate and Memento Black ink. Again, I used the coordinating framelits die cut him out. Then, I added him to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensional for some texture making sure his hand was near the balloon string! Then I added the tag to the card base!

To finish it off, I created a fun little full bow to add to the top of the tag and added some sequins all around. Check out the video below to see how I tied the ribbon. The ribbon and sequins are from the Sale-A-Bration brochure but they are no longer available. I still wanted to share this card for those of you who do have this beautiful ribbon. You could always use any style of ribbon/twine.

Party Surprise, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For the inside of the card, I added some balloons and confetti in Terracotta Tile. For the balloons, I inked it up once and stamped all 3 balloons to get that variation in color. It’s the perfect coordination!

To this this all in action on making a full bow, check out the video tutorial here. Be sure to give the video a thumbs up if you liked it and don’t forget to subscribe if you are new. If you would like a notification when I post a new video, be sure to click the bell right next to the subscribe!!!
