Fluttering By, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I told you I have had lots of fun with the Watercolor Wings Stamp Set and here is another amazing creation!!! Click here to see more! I love how the Fluttering Embossing Folder gives a great background texture to the card! I embossed a piece of Daffodil Delight measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″ and tied a piece of Pumpkin Pie Cotton Ribbon around the lower half. I adhered this to a Whisper White card base! For the butterflies, I used a scrap piece of Whisper White and used the Watercolor Wings Stamp Set. I used Pumpkin Pie for the first stamp, Tangerine Tango for the second, and Real Red for the third one. Then I used the coordinating Framelits to cut these out. You can Bundle & Save 15% when you purchase the Watercolor Wings Stamp Set and Bold Butterfly Framelits! You will also want to get the Butterflies Framelits! Together both sets of Framelits will cut out both the big and little butterflies as well as do the overlay which I will be showing some fabulous samples with that next week! 🙂 Stay tuned!!!

Shades of Purple!!!

Shades of Purple, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I love this card for some many reasons – the shades of Purple, that adorable Fork Bow, the little background images and the Dazzling Details!!! I love it ALL!!!!

I started with a card base of Whisper White! Then I took a piece of Whisper White measuring 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″ and stamped different images from the Perpetual Birthday Calendar Stamp Set. I did the stars in Rich Razzleberry, the dots in Wisteria Wonder, and the starburst image in Elegant Eggplant! I just stamped them all randomly around making sure to fall off the paper so it looks completely covered! I adhered this stamped piece onto a piece of Wisteria Wonder measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. For the ribbon, I took a piece of Rich Razzleberry Cotton Ribbon measuring 4-1/4″ and adhered the ends to the back of the Wisteria Wonder. Then I took another piece of the ribbon and created the Fork Bow. Click here for a video tutorial on how to create one! I adhered the mini bow with a Mini Glue Dot. Now you can adhere this to your card base! For the greeting, I stamped HI from the Layered Letters Alphabet Stamp Set in Elegant Eggplant onto a piece of Whisper White scrap paper. I punched it out with the Decorative Label Punch. I then punched out a second one in Elegant Eggplant and cut it in half to layer it on. You can see a tutorial on that here! Of course I adhered this to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. To finish the card off, I added a little bit of Dazzling Details to the center of the starburst images!! Everything is better with a little bling! What color combination would you use for this card? Let me know in the comments below!!

Brick Wall Vines, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Is this card not super elegant and fabulous? What occasion would you use this card for?? Let me know in the comments below! I’m thinking Wedding or Anniversary or Birthday or a Wine Lover? It has that wine look doesn’t it?

For this card, I started with a piece of Very Vanilla measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. This piece is smaller in the sample above because I made a mistake with the sponge dauber and had to cut off some. 🙂 First, you will color the vine image from the Thoughts & Prayers Stamp Set with Elegant Eggplant and Mossy Meadow Markers! Since this is a larger image, you might want to huff on the image a little before stamping it down to re-moisten the ink. I stamped the image twice before inking it up again so I could have some color variation and so I didn’t have to color it as many time. Once it is all stamped, I ran it through the Big Shot with the Brick Wall Embossing Folder. You will want to make sure your cardstock is in the folder correctly….laying on the rectangle popped up pieces. I did do it the other way and it looked great as well but the sponge dauber hits more surface area so it came out darker.

Reverse Brick Wall, www.LaurasStampPad.com

After embossing the cardstock, I used a So Saffron and Soft Suede Sponge Dauber to add a little color and rustic look to the brick wall. Be sure to go really light so there aren’t streaks or blobs of color. To finish it off, I added some Gold Satin Ribbon to the bottom and attached it with Stampin’ Dimensionals to an Elegant Eggplant card base! Love it!!!

To see this all in action, check out my Video Tutorial below!! Don’t forget to give it a thumbs up if you liked it!!!

Don’t forget to let me know what occasion you would use this card for!!!

Gracie’s Birthday!!!

Posted on

Gracie Flower Background, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I just love Pink, Orange and Yellow together and this card is just so fun!!! I’ll admit I typically don’t do birthday cards specifically for each individual person. I usually go to my stash and pick out a card I think they will like but every once in awhile when I’m playing I like to do a special one. I knew that Gracie’s Birthday was coming up so I thought this would be perfect for her. I use to babysit her back when I was younger and now she is all grown up…..yet I haven’t aged a bit. 🙂

For this card, I started with a Melon Mambo card base and then stamped all over a piece of Whisper White measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. I used the Perpetual Birthday Calendar Stamp Set which has fabulous background images for all year long! I love it! I stamped in Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie. Then I took another piece of Whisper White and stamped the rectangle image from the Layered Letters Stamp Set in each of the colors as well. I stamped the letters of her name from the same stamp set in Basic Black!! I wish I had a good tip for spacing that was more than Good Luck!!! 🙂 I started on the outside and worked my way in. I find that usually works best for me. So I stamped the far left and far right and then moved in till I had the right amount of blocks. I layered the name onto Pumpkin Pie and added it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals! I used Daffodil Delight Cotton Ribbon to tie a knot across the top. Then I tied a knot of Pumpkin Pie and Melon Mambo on either side!!! I really love working with Cotton Ribbon. It is so soft and easy to work with!

Do you like to make personalized cards a lot or just make all occasion cards to pick from when you need them?? Let me know in the comments below!

Technique Tuesday – Simple Yet Fabulous!!!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday everyone!!!! I have two great little techniques to share with you today that are simple and yet super cool!!! You may have seen them before but if not you will be blown away!!!

Double Polka Dot Emboss, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I love so many things about this card – the colors (Navy and Coral), that bow, the greeting, and the double embossing!!!!

Supplies Needed: Polka Dot Embossing Folder, Decorative Label Punch, greeting stamp set of your choice and ribbon of your choice

I started with a piece of Whisper White measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″ and I ran it through the Big Shot in the Polka Dot Embossing Folder. I then shifted it over a bit and ran it through again to get those second dots. You can also flip it over and off set it to get a cool look. Who knew you could double emboss and get such a cool look? LOVE IT! Then I wrapped the Calypso Coral Seam Binding around it and decided I wanted a bow rather than a knot. At first I didn’t like that it came out sideways but now I love it. Every bow doesn’t come out perfect but they all look amazing!!! Then for the greeting, I stamped the birthday greeting from the Tin of Cards Stamp Set (love that font) in Night of Navy on a scrap of Whisper White. I punched it out with the Decorative Label Punch and then I punched another one in Night of Navy to layer it. Of course both punched pieces are exactly the same size so I cut the navy one in half long ways. Then I add adhesive to the stamped greeting on the top and bottom and attach one of the navy pieces to the top and one to the bottom. You can have a little bit showing or a lot; it’s all up to you! This works with lots of different punches for that perfect layering effect and pop of color!!! (For a long time, I punched 2 to get the same look but it was so bulky on the backside, then I saw this and use it all the time!!!) Of course I added the greeting to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals!!!!

I know I am not the best with typing out instructions so I did a Video Tutorial for you!!! I show a few different ways to layer these and another fabulous tip with punches!!! Check it out below or click here!!!

Over the weekend I passed 1,000 Subscribers on my Laura’s Stamp Pad Channel! That is super exciting!!! Thank you to all of the subscribers and if you aren’t one of them, what are you waiting for???

Color Me Irresistible!!!!

Color Me Irresistible Paper, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Have you seen the NEW Color Me Irresistible Specialty Designer Series Paper in the NEW Stampin’ Up! Catalog??? It can be tricky to understand exactly what it is but it is very similar to the Designer Series Paper from Sale-A-Bration! This is what it looks like in the catalog!!!
Color Me Irresistible, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Half of the sheets in the pack already have color – the 2015-2017 In-Colors and Basic Black. Then there is a coordinating piece of Whisper White with the same pattern! This paper is clear embossed with fun images which will resist ink when you add color. You can add color with a Sponge Dauber, Spritzer, Brayer, Marker, and even a stamped image!

The card above uses the Watermelon Wonder dotted paper which makes a fun, quick, and simple card! I added the greeting from the You’ve Got This Stamp Set and some Whisper White Satin Stitched Ribbon!

Tuxedo Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This fun little card was created with the Whisper White striped paper. I could have added color but I wanted it to look like the under shirt of a tuxedo. I like this card due to the texture and fun better than my Tuxedo Card here! For the “V” cut out, I marked the center of the paper along the top and cut down the paper there. Then I cut diagonally to that center cut from the sides!!! I added the Designer Series Paper to a Basic Black card base. I added a few Pool Party Candy Dots for a little color and flare. You could always use Black Candy Dots too! For the Bow Tie, I used the Bow Builder Punch which is super simple to punch and assemble!!! If you mail this card, I’m sure the bow will flatten but that’s okay!!! I love it!! This would be great for a Groom’s Card on the wedding day, and engagement card, or just a little something fancy for the man in your life!!!

I love this paper!!! Check back for more samples using this paper!!!

Hey Dude!!!

Hey Dude Paper Pumpkin Man Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I think I’m really starting to like Gray a little more lately! Do you ever have a color that you don’t use for awhile and then when you do, you find yourself reaching for it a lot??

For this card, I used a Whisper White card base. I took a piece of Bermuda Bay and ran it through the Big Shot with the Polka Dot Embossing Folder. Then I took my Sponge Dauber and colored the raised dots a little for a darker look!!! I love sponge daubers! I added that to the card front. I used the Banner Triple Punch to create the banner tips in the gray striped paper from the Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack!!! For the circles, I used the Circle Framelits which layer so perfectly together. I stamped the Dude greeting from the April Paper Pumpkin Kit in Bermuda Bay and then stamped it a second and third time without re-inking the stamp. I love the ombre look! After stamping the Dude, I added in the Hey! Of course the circles were added to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals! I thought it needed a little something more so I added the little bow with some Basic Gray Baker’s Twine! Does this mean it isn’t manly anymore?? Let me know in the comments below!

Technique Tuesday – Rock & Roll…or Ink & Pounce??

Posted on

Happy Tuesday, stampers!!! I hope your week is going well! Today is Tuesday so that means I have a fabulous technique to share with you. I’m loving this one because of the amazing colors!!! Of course you could pick any 2 colors to do this technique! I picked Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry!!!! Let’s Rock and Roll!!!!

Rock and Roll Background, www.Laurasstamppad.com

So I have always known this technique as the Rock and Roll Technique where you in the stamp up in a lighter color and then rock and roll the stamp on a darker color in pad to get those edges inked up. Welcome to Laura’s Stamp Pad and the love of Sponge Daubers….this is now called Ink & Pounce! I can make up any name for it, right? Let’s get started!

SUPPLIES NEEDED: Background stamp or any large solid stamp, 2 ink pads, Sponge Daubers

I used the background image from the You’ve Got This Stamp Set and inked it up in Melon Mambo. Then I sat the stamp down and took my Sponge Dauber and Rich Razzleberry Ink and pounced all around the edges!!! I prefer this method because then any excess Melon Mambo ink is going into my sponge dauber and not my ink pad. Also since this image isn’t perfectly round or the exact shape, I don’t have to worry that a spot didn’t get any Rich Razzleberry. Once you have both colors on your stamp, flip it over and stamp it down onto some Whisper White cardstock! It’s that simple! You could always add in more colors, create an ombre look going light to dark, or camouflage with a few colors. You can have fun with it and create lots of different looks! I stamped the greeting from Lovely Amazing You in the center with Stazon Black Ink. For the ribbon, I used the New Melon Mambo Satin Stitched Ribbon and tied it around a piece of Rich Razzleberry cardstock (1″ x 4″). I added that to the white carsdtock and then placed it on the Melon Mambo card base! Simple and yet super fabulous! Who else is loving these colors???? What colors would you pick?? Leave me a comment down below!

To see this in action, check out my Video Tutorial below! Don’t forget to give it a thumbs up if you liked it!!!

Bridal Shower Beauty!!!

Posted on

I love weddings and being in love and gathering with friends and family. That is exactly why I had an amazing weekend celebrating the love of my two friends at their Bridal Shower!!!! I mentioned it on Friday and many of you requested photos so I will share (even though it was done with the retired Something Borrowed Designer Series Paper)! I loved the neutral color of the paper so I thought this was my opportunity to add in Pool Party for that look I’ve been dreaming to create!!!

Something Borrowed Bridal Shower Invites, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Here are the invitations for the Bridal Shower! I printed the inside on a Whisper White card base. I layered a piece of the Something Borrowed Designer Series Paper (3-3/4″ x 5″) onto Pool Party cardstock (4″ x 5-1/4″). I added a 4-3/4″ piece of Whisper White Cotton Ribbon across the paper, adhering the ends to the back. Then I layered this onto the card base. I created the little bow with Pool Party Cotton Ribbon and the Fork Bow Technique! Click here to see the video tutorial! I added the bow to the card with a Mini Glue Dot! The greeting was punched out with the Large Oval Punch and layered onto a punched Scallop Oval Punch! I added that to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals! I stamped a little flower from the Sprinkles of Life Stamp Set on the envelope to make it just as adorable!

Something Borrowed Bridal Shower Invites, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Here is a close up of the invite!!! Now on to decorations!

Bridal Shower Decorations, www.LaurasStampPad.com

To keep the theme going with the Something Borrowed Designer Series Paper (DSP) and Pool Party colors, I stamped some greetings from the Endless Birthday Wishes Stamp Set onto Pool Party cardstock. I punched these out and layered them onto a scallop circle of the DSP. I put two of them back to back with a toothpick between and some Stampin’ Dimensionals to place in the cupcakes! I also punched lots of different sizes of circle punches in Whisper White, Soft Sky and Pool Party cardstock to lay all over the dessert table! Also, I created little food tags with a piece of 4″ x 4″ Pool Party cardstock folded in half and a little 1/2″ x 2″ piece of the DSP on the left side! It was really cute!!! Of course I had to add in a photo of the beautiful Bride and I! 🙂

My gift was a Project Life 12″ x 12″ Album which had pictures from our dress shopping adventure. I will be creating pages for the Shower and all of the other events leading up to and including the wedding. I’m use the Love Story Card Collection which is perfect for her album because she is using Black, White and a pop of Red! This collection is black, white and gray so I only need to add in the red!!! I added in the Journal Pens and these coordinating Thank You Notes as well!

It was a wonderful afternoon!!! I can’t wait to celebrate even more in October!!!

In love,

~Laura

Pastel Perfection!!!

Flowers and Lace, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This is a new color combination I reached for and I am loving it!!! I know I’m usually a Brights Girl but every once in awhile I go light!! This card uses Mint Macaron and Blushing Bride! The soft colors make this card perfect for weddings, baby, sympathy, thinking of you, birthday, and everything in between! I love it!!!

I started with a Mint Macaron card base and just started adding layers. The Blushing Bride layer is 4″ x 5-1/4″ and the Whisper White layer is 3-3/4″ x 5″. I used the You’ve Got This Stamp Set for the images and Endless Birthday Wishes for the greeting! I adhered the white stamped piece to the Blushing Bride and then I wrapped the Mint Macaron Lace Trim around and tied a double knot. I am really loving this lace trim and I’m not really a lace person. This stuff is super easy to use, adorable and yet elegant, stretchy and thin so it lays flat. It is awesome!!! I layered the decorative piece on the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals!

What do you think of the color combination? What occasion would you use this card for? Let me know in the comments below!
