Spreading Holiday Joy Series!!!

Here is another fabulous card in our Spreading Holiday Joy Series!!! You can check out others here, here, and here!!! I love love love getting cards in the mail and I hope everyone I send cards to enjoys receiving them too!

Tag It, www.LaurasStampPad.comThis card is one of my favorites because it uses a stamp from the Tag It Stamp which supports Ronald McDonald House Charities (check out this blog post)! Of course it is just precious too!!!

Supplies Needed: Cherry Cobbler Cardstock (2 cards per sheet), Basic Black Cardstock, Whisper White Cardstock, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Basic Black Chevron Ribbon, Tag It Stamp Set, Chalk Talk Framelits, and Perfect Polka Dot Embossing Folder

First you will want to run your Whisper White cardstock through the Big Shot with only 3/4 of the paper in the Perfect Polka Dot Embossing Folder. Then you can adhere that to your Basic Black cardstock and adhere your piece of ribbon with the ends wrapping around to the back. Put that onto your Cherry Cobbler card front! Stamp your Santa image in Cherry Cobbler onto a scrap piece of white cardstock and cut it out with the matching framelit! I then colored in his boots and belt with my black marker! Attach that to your card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals! All Done! This card takes about 2 minutes to assemble once you have your pieces all cut!!!

Spreading Holiday Joy Series!!!

I just love going to the mailbox this time of year! Getting a card can really brighten your day….especially when it is hand-made!!!! That is what this Series is all about – showing you great cards to make this season so you can spread Holiday Joy!!! You can check out other cards in this series here, here, and here!

Festive Flurry Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

For some reason, I really really love this card and it is super simple to make! I think its the snowflake, or maybe the Pool Party color, or maybe that greeting….that is my all time favorite greeting because of the scrolly (I think that’s a word 😉 ) look to it. Here is how to make this amazing card!

Supplies Needed: Whisper White Cardstock (2 cards per sheet), Winter Frost Designer Series Paper Stack (or Paper Pack), Rhinestones, Festive Flurry Stamp Set and Framelits (as a bundle), and Greetings of the Season Stamp Set

I stamped the greeting on the bottom right in Smokey Slate! Stamp your snowflake image on a piece of scrap white cardstock in Pool Party and die-cut it out with the matching Framelit. Adhere your piece of Designer Series Paper to the center of the card and then using Stampin’ Dimensionals, adhere your snowflake! Finish it off with a Rhinestone in the middle of the snowflake! DONE! Super quick and simple! When doing multiples, you could probably do 10 of these in 30 minutes or so!

This is the fifth card in my Spreading Holiday Joy Series! You can check out some of the past cards in the series here and here!

Merry Little Christmas, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I think this was the only card that I created in the traditional red and green! I love it even though I’m more into the blues this year!

Supplies Needed: Garden Green Cardstock (2 cards per sheet), Real Red Cardstock, Whisper White Cardstock, Whisper White Baker’s Twine, Deco Labels Collection Framelits (or any Framelit) and  Merry Little Christmas Stamp Set

For this card, I ran the Real Red Cardstock and Whisper White Cardstock through the Big Shot to cut out the Labels first! I then stamped the greeting in Real Red and the border line in Garden Green! Adhere the stamped piece to the Real Red label with Stampin’ Dimensionals and then adhere to the card front with Snail adhesive. I wrapped the Baker’s Twine around the card base a few times and then tied the bow! I love how the Framelits layer so well that a simple greeting and these layers make a card look fabulous!!!

Sparkly Snowflake Ornaments!

Posted on

Snowflake Ornament, www.LaurasStampPad.comWhen it comes to Christmas, I am not a strict red and green decorator! In fact the only “color” I require is BLING! I love lights, glimmer, shiny stuff on my tree because I want it to light up the room! I enjoy sitting in the dark living room on the couch all cuddled under a blanket just staring at the tree! 🙂 This ornament that I have created is so beautiful and it meets my requirements! I used the Festive Flurry Stamp Set and matching Framelits to create this ornament! The colors used are Elegant Eggplant, Silver Glimmer Paper, Soft Sky and Whisper White! The Frosted Finished Embellishment on the top really just brings it altogether! I have to say those little things look amazing in a photo but in person WOW do that sparkle and shine! I wish I could make a crown to wear every day with them! I would love to hear what some of your favorite crafty items are that you decorate with around the Holidays! I could use a few more ideas because I’m really the urge to decorate A LOT this year!

Thankful Simply Created Kit, www.laurasstamppad.com

Thankful Tablescape Simply Created KitStampin’ Up! has this fabulous kit in the Holiday Mini Catalog that is super cute for any Thanksgiving Tablescape! But if your family is anything like mine there is so much food and chaos going on that there is no room for cute decorations! So why not think outside the box??? Check out these fabulous cards that I created with all of the supplies inside the kit (minus the card bases which are crumb cake cardstock). I was able to create over 30 cards and 10 treat bags! Come back again tomorrow to see how I created treat bags with the napkin pouches!

The card that I did above was created using half of the menu card (the yellow striped piece) and a small piece of the Designer Series Paper from the strips (the orange piece). The package comes with these amazing chalkboard pieces which I thought were totally just black cardstock. Whoa, was I wrong! It is this crazy slick, textured, plastic-like piece and it so looks and feels amazing! I used the fabulous Chalk Marker for the greeting! This is the greatest white marker I have ever used! It writes very clear and amazing! The little notches on the chalkboard piece make it easy to wrap the twine around and the kit comes with die-cut leaves!

Thankful Simply Created Kit, www.laurasstamppad.com

This card uses the the hounds-tooth printed paper (in the package to be used as food tent cards) as your background piece. You need to cut off about a 1/2″ piece which I then added to the inside for a little POP of color/decoration on the inside! The Chocolate Chip patterned piece comes from the roll of paper in the kit! That roll seems never endings! I added a little twine and another one of the die-cut leaves! The kit also comes with a roll of this birch paper which is super cool because it is textured and not actual cardstock (sort of plastic feeling too). I stamped the Magnificent Maple leaf on there in Crushed Curry and Tangerine Tango and then used my Label Framelits to cut it out! Love it! Post in the comments if you have any other outside the box ideas that you have for this fabulous kit! And be sure to come back again tomorrow for the Technique Tuesday – Treat Bag!

Spectacular Samples!

I thought I would share some of my projects that I have created with some of the stamp sets (and Framelits) that are on sale this week so you can see them in action!!!! One of my super favorites is the Dress Framelits!

Dress Framelits, www.LaurasStampPad.com

The card on the left side was cut out on Glimmer Paper and I added ribbon around the waist for a little pop of color to match my card base! Of course I added the purple ink to the edges of the Whisper White cardstock with my sponge daubers! The card on the right side was created using the Puzzle Resist Technique….which uses sponge daubers too (of course)!!! You can check out more about this Technique HERE!

Betsy's Blossom's, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Betsy’s Blossom Stamp Set has flowers so of course it is one of my favorites!!! Why is it that I always gravitate towards flower sets? Probably because they are so much fun and pretty and colorful!!!!! These were samples that I created a while back for a class that I did featuring this stamp set. That’s right, I loved this set so much I did an entire class with it!!!! The card on the left was stamped in Basic Gray and Daffodil Delight and then I stamped more Daffodil Delight flowers on scrap paper and punched them out with the Blossom Punch and layered them on top!!! The card on the right features all of the 2012-2014 In-Colors! I stamped the flower in each color and added a little Flower from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack and a Rhinestone! What makes a flower even better? BLING!

Don’t forget you can get these items as well as many others for 25% off this week only!

Technique Tuesday – Ombré Style Stamping

Posted on

It is Tuesday and so I’m sharing a fabulous technique with you!!! This week it is the Ombré Look!

Happy BirthdayI’m not going to lie, when I first heard of the Ombré Technique I had no clue what it was and had to look up the word Ombré.  Ombré is a French word meaning to shade. In art it means beautiful color gradation!

So there you have it! And now I’m loving this technique! You all know I’m a huge fan of bright colors and whats even better….lots of Bright Colors! Color is an amazing thing! It sets a mood, shares a feeling, and can even brighten your day. Here are a few samples using a variety of ombré techniques. It’s an easy technique that offers impressive results.

Hang In ThereThe Birthday Card above is my #1 Man Card right now! You can make that card in shades of blue like I did or shades of green, or neutrals! And as my husband says, no ribbon on a man card but Linen Thread is okay! So all in all the perfect Man Card and it uses scraps of cardstock too!!!!! (For other Man Cards, check out this post!)

This little 3″ x 3″ Mini Card is super cute and perfect for a little Birthday Gift Tag or pick me up card to pass along to a co-worker! Quick and simple to put together and again a great use for scraps! I used the 1″ Circle Punch, Modern                                                                                                               Label Punch and Word Window Punch! Oh                                                                how I love my punches!

This too Shall PassThis last card here was created with Watercolor Paper! All you do is pick up some reinker with an Aqua Painter and swish back and forth on your paper starting with the lightest color! How fabulous is that?? Then the image was heat embossed with white embossing powder and cut out with the Labels Collection Framelits! And isn’t this saying just perfect?!?!

I hope you have enjoyed this technique and try it out in your next stamping project!

Technique Tuesday – Puzzle Piece Resist!

Posted on

It is Tuesday again and so I’m sharing a fabulous technique with you!!! This week it is the Puzzle Piece Resist Technique!

CombinedPic

This amazing technique comes from my fellow stamper – Linda Yearsley! I love when we all get together and swap ideas! Here is how to create this look:

Supplies Used: Versamark, Embossing Powder, Background Stamp (I used En Francais), Cardstock and Big Shot Framelits, Ink, Sponge Daubers

Stamp background image on Whisper White Cardstock with Versamark. Pour clear, white, or black embossing powder over the image and tap off access powder. Heat emboss the powder until it is completely melted. Place your Big Shot Framelits (what ever images you want) on your embossed background and run it through the Big Shot. Carefully remove your die cut shapes and with the sponge daubers add desired ink color to each puzzle piece. Take a paper towel and go over the inked areas to remove any excess ink. This makes your embossing more pronounced. Adhere the largest background puzzle piece to your card base and then continue putting the puzzle piece together and adhering them on the card.

My Samples: Sample 1 – I used the Dress Up Framelits and Ovals Framelits for my puzzle pieces, Black Embossing Powder and Real Red Ink for the dress and outline! Sample 2 – I used the Ovals Framelits, Labels Collection Framelits, and Secret Garden Framelits for my puzzle pieces, Clear Embossing Powder and Pumpkin Pie, Island Indigo, Melon Mambo & Daffodil Delight Inks and a pearl in the center!!! Sample 3 – I used the Labels Collection Framelits for my puzzle pieces, Clear Embossing Powder, and Gumball Green, Tempting Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, and Daffodil Delight Inks. For this card, I put Stampin’ Dimensionals on every other label frame to give dimension! These are my #1 favorite product and you will notice I use them A LOT!

I hope you enjoyed this Technique and try it out yourself!!! Until next Tuesday…..

Happy Stampin’

Technique Tuesday – A Fabulous Fold!

Posted on

It is Tuesday again and so I’m sharing a fabulous technique with you!!!

This week it is this Fabulous Fold with Designer Series Paper!

Combined Flip Card

I love how this card creates such a WOW response and it uses both sides of our fabulous Designer Series Paper! Now I don’t have to worry about holding a piece back because “surely there is a better project for this great piece of Designer Series Paper.” Or am I the only one who thinks that when I see a piece with 2 great sides??? The other great thing about this project is you can get 2 cards out of one 12 x 12 piece with a 1 inch strip left over for other projects!! And don’t forget you can stock up on Designer Series Paper this month (July 2013) with our Buy 3 Get 1 Free Special! Only 1 more day so order today!!!

Supplies Needed: Designer Series Paper and the Simply Scored Scoring Tool

You will need a piece of 12” x 5-1/2” piece of Designer Series Paper, score at 2”, 4”, 8”, and 10” using your Simply Scored Scoring Tool or Score Blade on your Paper Trimmer or just a Bone folder and straight edge. Fold on those score lines making mountains on either side of the center. Along the 5-1/2” side, put a little mark at 2-3/4” with a pencil. Then cut from the 4” score diagonal to that 2-3/4” mark! Do that on both sides. You will then flip those pieces over and layer them on the bottom of the mountain and adhere to the card. You can then decorate the inside with a piece of Whisper White cardstock which measures 3-3/4″ x 5-1/4″. On the outside flap I adhered (only half way so it would hang over the other half) the Labels Collection Framelit cut-out decorated with the Birthday Cake from the Embellished Events Stamp Set.

Coming soon….tips on how to use Designer Series Paper scraps like that 1 inch strip left over from this project!!!
