Technique Tuesday – Telescoping Card!

Posted on

Happy Tuesday! You know what that means, I have a fabulous technique to share with you today! This super fun telescoping card is super cute and cool to open!

Telescoping Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Supplies Needed: Set of Framelits that gradually increase, embossing folder, brads, and ribbon

This card is much easier than it looks and it still fits in a regular sized envelope! I used my Ovals Framelits for this card but you could use Circles or even any of the label collections too. The Basic Gray base was done with the largest oval and then I skipped the next one down and cut two ovals in the 3rd largest (one for my writing – white and one to telescope up – Calypso Coral). The Coral oval was then embossed with the Beautiful Baroque Embossing folder! I then cut one more oval with the smallest one in the set in Basic Gray. The last one which is stamped and colored in was punched out the Scallop Oval Punch! Now that you have all of your ovals, it is time to assemble them with your brads! Be sure to stamp on your Whisper White one with whatever greeting you wish (always stamp before assembling in case you mess up and need to use the other side, not like that ever happens but just thought I would share the tip. 😉 Adhere that piece onto the center of your large Scallop Oval. Then place the Calypso Coral one on top and punch a hole through all 3 layers on the top middle of the oval about a 1/4″ down. Place a brad in that whole, the ends will come out on the back side of the card. Next you will take your 2 smallest ovals and adhere them together. Open your telescoping piece that you have already added the brad to and then place your small ovals on top (upside down if there is a greeting so that it is centered) Then the final step is to fold a 2″ piece of ribbon over in a loop (for the handle) and punch a hole through the ribbon and small ovals and attach a brad.

Here it is all opened up! I hope the directions weren’t too confusing! I know sometimes it can be hard to follow! Post in the comments below if you have any questions, I am more than happy to help you!!!

Perfect Pennants!!!!

Perfect Pennants, www.LaurasStampPad.comI love the greetings in the the Perfect Pennants Stamp Set AND there is a heart and star which makes it even better! Here are a few samples I created using the Perfect Pennants Stamp Set and matching Banner Framelits (Bundle it and save 15%!!!) I used Marina Mist, Wisteria Wonder, and Pistachio Pudding – perfect pastel color combination!!! Of course, I used my Sponge Daubers to add a little color to the edge of my whisper white cardstock!!! LOVE IT! I couldn’t decide which stamps to use for this card so that is why I made two – one with hearts and one with stars. And then came the greeting tag….add ribbon, add some polka dots, keep it simple. So many options!!! That is what I love about stamping and paper crafting!!! For more samples using this stamp set, click here! Post in the comments below which one you like best!!!

Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper!!!

Posted on

The Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper is my FAVORITE paper right now! I have been using it on millions of cards (okay maybe not millions but close…see check out this one and more are coming!)

Watercolor Wonder DSP, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I think the 2 patterns that I love the most are this one with the coral and yellow flowers and the other one in the same pattern but in indigo and green! LOVE!!! And this card was super simple, I cut a piece of the Designer Series Paper to 4″ x 5-1/4″ to layer onto my card base and then I punched out my butterflies with the Elegant Butterfly Punch and Bitty Butterfly Punch! Of course I attached those to my card with Stampin’ Dimensionals (LOVE)!!! I then added a little Calypso Coral Baker’s Twine and my greeting! I stamped the greeting from the Perfect Pennants Stamp Set onto Whisper White and then used the matching Banner Framelits to cut it out! The cool thing is you can get these two items as a bundle and save 15%! Woot Woot! I hope you liked this card and be on the lookout for more cards using the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper!!

Looking Forward to Spring!

You're Lovely, www.LaurasStampPad.comThis card just screams SPRING to me! Or maybe it is just me who is screaming SPRING and wishing it would come sooner! I love these colors together – Pistachio Pudding, Calypso Coral and Smoky Slate! That Ruffled Ribbon is so amazing to use sticking out of a piece of cardstock – so cute and ruffly! 🙂 I used the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper and You’re Lovely Stamp Set which are both Sale-A-Bration items that you can earn for FREE! I used my markers to color in the stamp and get such beautiful colors in those flowers and border! I love coloring in my stamps with markers because when you stamp it down it is just MAGIC. I always pick the stamp back up and am still impressed with the amazing look! The magic of ink on a stamp to paper still amazes me! 🙂 I used the Deco Label Framelit to cut out this image perfectly! I love how the Framelits and Stamps match up so well! Let me know in the comments below which stamp set and punch or framelit is your favorite combination!

Happy Spring Thoughts,

Technique Tuesday – Interlocking Card

Posted on

Happy Tuesday!!! That means I have a fabulous technique for you and this one that will for sure make you say, “WOW”!

Interlocking Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Supplies Needed: Daydream Medallion Stamp Set, Floral Frames Framelits, and cardstock

Of course you can substitute the stamp set and Framelits to any set you have on hand or your favorite! This pair is my current love. Every time I need a card, I am just drawn to this set! Check out some more samples here, here, and here! Your card base for this one is 8-1/2″ x 4-1/2″ and you will score at 2-1/8″ and 6-3/8″. Fold on those score lines and you will have your gate-fold card base. Then you need to stamp and cut out each of the layers in any color combination you wish to use! I used Summer Starfruit, Raspberry Ripple, and Primrose Petal! Now it is time to assemble them all together. So I stamped the largest image in Summer Starfruit onto my card front, then I added the stamped and die-cut next largest down by adhering it only on the left side of the gate. Then with the last two flowers, I layered them on top of each other with some Stampin’ Dimensionals (love), laid the card closed, added adhesive to the right side and put the piece down just like a puzzle piece.

Interlocking Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

You can see the pieces better here in this photo with the card opened up! On the inside of this card I stamped the smallest of the flowers in this stamp set and my Thank You greeting! This card really has a WOW factor to it and it is fairly simple to create! You could use any of the layering Framelits with this technique! I hope you try this out. Send me pictures of your card when you try this technique! I would love to see them!

Daydream Medallion Birthday Invitations!!!

Posted on

A friend of mine reached out to me to make invitations for her mother’s 60th Birthday Party! I was so excited to be able to help with this party!! I know that the Mother’s favorite color is Purple and she loved a rustic/vintage look. Here is what I came up with:

Daydream Medallion Invitation, www.LaurasStampPad.com

What do you think?? I think I nailed it on the head!!! I used the Daydream Medallion Stamp Set which has quickly became my go to stamp set. You can check out more samples here and here! LOVE IT! I randomly stamped all over and then added a little more ink with my sponge daubers for the bottom half of the card. Then I die-cut all of the smallest flowers from the Floral Frames Framelits and brushed the edges with Elegant Eggplant ink and my sponge daubers. I brushed the edges of the banners as well. Here are a few of the steps I took when making these.

Daydream Medallion Invitation, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Remember assembly line is the best way to make multiple cards!

Daydream Medallion Invitation, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I even stamped a little on the corner of the envelopes to make them match and a decorated envelope in the mail is sooooo exciting to receive! I love how they turned out and the Birthday Girl LOVED them too! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Sue!!!!!

If you are having a party or wedding and need help with the invitations, programs, party favors, and more let me know and I would love to help you make the perfect party!!!!

You’re Lovely!!

It is Sale-A-Bration time!!!! That means that your earn free stuff as a customer, hostess, and if you wish to join Stampin’ Up! The stamp set You’re Lovely is so amazing! It has fabulous flowers and greetings! Check out this sample!

You're Lovely, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card is super simple and so amazing! I used my favorite color – Pool Party and Basic Gray! The Designer Series Paper is also one of the items you can earn for FREE with Sale-A-Bration – Sweet Sorbet! I added a little White Baker’s Twine for some texture. For the greeting, I stamped the image in Basic Gray on a scrap piece of Whisper White and then again on a piece of Basic Gray. I die-cut the Basic Gray piece with the Deco Labels Framelits and I punched out the white piece out with my Circle Punch! Then I layered them with Stampin’ Dimensionals! TIP: That layered piece of Pool Party cardstock is 4″ x 5-1/4″ which is just 1/4″ inch less than the card base. When cutting these pieces out, you end up with a little extra piece of cardstock. I have millions of these pieces and so I started putting that little piece on the inside as a little decoration. That is the piece that you can see on the inside of the card! 🙂 Always looking for ways to use my scraps!

Apothecary Art!!!

Posted on

Apothecary Art, www.LaurasStampPad.comI love the color purple and this card turned out AMAZING!!!! I used the Apothecary Art Stamp Set and matching Labels Collection Framelits! I love how these matching framelits cut out the image so perfectly! And then the Beautifully Baroque Embossing Folder makes the background look so amazing and elegant! It gives the card texture and depth too! As for the flowers in the stamped image (use Stazon ink when coloring images so it doesn’t bleed), I used Blender Pens and reinker to color the flowers! I love this way of coloring because you can start off light and work your way darker! When using markers, you get a dark ink saturation with the first stroke of the marker but with the blender pens, you are picking up the color and adding it in. I hope you enjoyed this card and try out your Blender Pens!

One Sheet Wonder Part 2

Posted on

Yesterday I shared the One Sheet Wonder Technique with you all! You can check it out here! Here are a few more samples! One Sheet Wonder, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Once I had stamped all of the One Sheet of cardstock with the Daydream Medallion Stamps and cut up the pieces for each card, then I stamped and die-cut the flower pieces for all of the cards with the Floral Frames Framelits. Then I worked on the assembly part! Many of the cards have the added texture and color by brushing Baked Brown Sugar on the edges with a Sponge Dauber! Also, you will notice there are LOTS of banners so I stamped and cut out all of my banner tips too! TIP: When cutting your banner tips, its best to cut up in the middle (of the end of the paper) and then cut from the corner diagonally to that cut. This will make your banner tips equal length. Of course the sample on the right here is off. I made my original greeting banner with the tip above and then assembled that with the ribbon and just cut the Crisp Cantaloupe with an edge. One Sheet Wonder, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I love how the card on the left is so simple with the One Sheet Wonder piece on the bottom and some stamping on the card and then ribbon! TIP: Sticky Strip works best with the Ruffled Ribbon because it holds strong! These 3 cards were my favorites!!!

I hope you have enjoyed these cards and this technique!

Technique Tuesday – One Sheet Wonder

Happy Tuesday!!!! That means I have a fabulous Technique to share with you! This is a great way to create lots of cards at one time using similar colors and style! You can try it out with lots of different images like flowers, doilies, animals, leaves, & shapes!

One Sheet Wonder, www.LaurasStampPad.com

One Sheet Wonder Grid, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Here are 6 of the 8 cards and box that were created with the One Sheet Wonder Technique! That’s right, one 8-1/2″ x 11″ sheet of stamped cardstocked created 8 cards and a decorated box!!!! I used the Daydream Medallion Stamp Set and stamped all over the sheet of cardstock and even used my sponge daubers to add a little color in between the stamped images to add a little rustic, less bold look! Then I cut the sheet of cardstock into all of the pieces that I need for each of the cards. (See the grid to the left for measurements.) After cutting up all the pieces for each card, I stamped and cut out the images with the Floral Frames Framelits which match this stamp set perfectly! Also, all of the colors used for these cards came from the NEW In-Colors – Crisp Cantaloupe, Baked Brown Sugar, Strawberry Slush, Coastal Cabana, and Pistachio Pudding! One Sheet Wonder, www.LaurasStampPad.com The In-Color Boutique Details were used on some of the flowers but you could also use Antique Brads, Pearls, Rhinestones, or even nothing! It is so great to do all of these cards in matching colors of cardstock and embellishments! I used a few different colors of the Ruffled Ribbon as well. You can pick which ever one is your favorite or use a little bit of each color!

I will be posting more tomorrow so you can see all of the samples and details of these fabulous cards created with just one sheet of stamped 8-1/2″ x 11″ sheet of cardstock!!!
